The owner was born in Gujarat and comes from a family with over 25 years of experience in the hospitality business. They started their culinary journey by joining the Institute of Hotel Management run by Taj Group of Hotels and gained extensive experience working in prestigious hotels and restaurants in India and the UK.

After completing a Master's in Hospitality Management in the UK, the owner worked with various hotels before opening their first ownership Indian restaurant in York. The success of this restaurant led to a re-branding as a contemporary Indian restaurant called Atithi.

The owner has put in immense hard work to ensure that the menu at Atithi reflects the full diversity and vibrancy of Indian cuisine with a contemporary style. Each dish has a unique story behind it, and the menu is designed to provide guests with a personal and authentic dining experience.
