The Keeper's Cottage: what do users think?
DIANA BURGESS: Just returned from an amazing stay at Clyne Woodland Cottages. An idyllic location with beautiful woodland. Our group of 10 brought our horses and enjoyed hacking in the forest and trips to the beach. The cottages are pretty, comfortable and have everything we needed. Totally recommend. The Clyne Farm team are brilliant too!
Hannah Wilkens: We always have a fantastic time at Clyne Farm and have returned numerous times. Most recently we stayed as a large group in The Keeper's Cottage and Barn Owl Lodge. The two properties can interlink and they are absolutely perfect for a large group (be it all adults, or family groups with kids). The location (which is easily found thanks to the excellent instructions provided by the owners) is beautiful and secluded, surrounded by woodland and stunning views - so there are no concerns about noise or disturbing other properties. The charm of this place is that it is family-run and the owners and staff are so helpful and welcoming. The welcome pack with Welsh goodies - and even a Mr Men/ Little Miss book for the kids - is such a lovely touch. The digital guidebook is a great idea and provides all the information you need - and if you want any more tips on places to visit then the knowledgeable and friendly owners/ staff are full of ideas. There were so many places to explore within a short drive. The Gower Peninsula and its stunningly beautiful beaches is a particular bonus for staying here, as well as lots of great walking and the Swansea neighbourhood of Mumbles (full of independent shops and boutiques, and home to arguably the world's best ice cream!) just down the road. The kids were in heaven - big garden and woods to play in, lots of places for hide and seek, and trips to the main farm for horse-riding and visiting the animals.Highly recommend The Keeper's Cottage and Barn Owl Lodge for large groups. We will be back!
Aaron Stanley: Booked Keeper's cottage and the Barn Owl cottage interconnected for a stag weekend. Great location with no worries about making too much noise for neighbours or other parties. Well furnished and looked after properties and exactly what we were after. Clyne Farm Centre and team were helpful and supportive throughout. Would highly recommend.
Marcin Leway: Super place in a complete remote area. If you want to relax in the wildery, I recommend it. The road through the forest is really demanding .
Suzie Huntington: Just returned home after a 3 night weekend stay. We hired 4 cottages for 19 friends, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Clyne Farm kept us informed throughout the booking process and couldn't have been more helpful. The cottages were lovely. The view is stunning. Would recommend.
Amy Misson: Wow, what a stay. Being fairly local in my younger years, I'd often passed this cottage on a woodland walk and wondered what it was like inside. Well what better chance to try than a friends reunion. The cottages do not disappoint! Much bigger than expected. Loads of places to relax and unwind. Modern bathrooms with great showers. Comfy beds. Amazing touches. Yummy welsh cakes by the way. Staying in the cottages was a real treat. I would heartily recommend.
Katy Hartley: I stayed at Keepers Cottage with a group of friends and our children this month and I cannot praise our stay enough. We had such a lovely time and made the most of the cottages’ perfect location in the middle of the woods for some lovely, leafy autumn walks. The cottage is also perfectly placed between Swansea, Mumbles and Gower for days out or walks to the beach. The cottage itself is so cosy and comfortable. The bedrooms are well placed for keeping the little ones within hearing range whilst the adults enjoy the evenings in the lounge and there were plenty of facilities for cooking for a large group and eating and sitting together. The bedrooms and bathrooms have all been beautifully decorated and there was a lovely open fire for those colder evenings. Plenty of parking for lots of cars right next to the cottage and a beautiful secure garden for the children to play in . We hope to be back again soon!
hydar albedaery: An amazing place to get away from the city.
Emmanuel Emma: Very quite and nice rooms
Sharon Hext: WoW, what an absolutely stunning place to stay. We didn't want to leave. Quiet, deep in the woods, surrounded by trees and wildlife.fab walks, fab views and fab sunrises. Our dogs and children loved it. Can't wait to go again. Would definately recommend to everyone to stay here. Had everything we needed, and loved the welshcakes that were left out for us.
Carol Isherwood: So quite and descrete loved it.
Suraj Deo Singh: Great form house. Located in woods. Supportive staff.

Home from Home: what do users think?
Lee Romano: Stayed in one of their lovely cottagesWould definitely recommend
Judy: Friendly, helpful service
Des osullivan: Office looks amazing, staff are warm and welcoming. Always get a positive response and actions completed by them.
Ian: Always helpful and great properties.
Sarah McAlindin: Positive:Professionalism,QualityWe have used the company for many years and stayed in several different properties. Always pleased with our accommodation and happy to use the company in the future. We’ve already booked for next year!
Zoe Bishop: We have had a fantastic holiday in Swy-n-mor, Horton, The Gower. It is a very spacious house, very well equipped, with a modern feel. We especially enjoyed the large garden with a warm outdoor shower within walking distance of the beach. A great location for costal walks. A lovely cottage to bring the dog and all the family.Thank you very much.
Mary Willis: Positive:QualityThe staff from Home From Home went out of their way to make our holiday a great success. We mistakenly ordered a food delivery before we were due to arrive and they had packed it away carefully in the fridge, freezer and store cupboards! What great service.
Kay O'rourke: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueStayed at sea spray in the mumbles. Very clean and well equipped.Only thing negative I can say is that it could do with a lick of paint and maybe new bed frames. But all in all had a lovely week.
Ruth Stokes: Great properties rented out for holidays. Easy to book and the properties are really good standard and quality. Can be pricey but you get what you pay for👍
David Lloyd: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueThis was our third booking with Home from Home and on each occasion, we have found the team to be extremely professional and friendly. We have always been provided with lots of information to help us get the most from our holiday. Can't fault them, five star!
Ivona Bradley: UPDATEWe did get a cleaner after 3 day of unsuccessfully trying to get in touch with Home from Home. I understand the general message of "we're striving to provide our best", but Home from Home didn't. This sort of situation shouldn't have happened in the first place if as a company you actually followed the rules you advocate for. I also strongly suggest that the emergency number is actually monitored properly otherwise there's no point in having one.Booked an apartment by the seaside with Home from Home. The price was lower than other accommodations around it and we did think it might be too good to be true but the place looked nice in photos. Plenty of alarm bells that the place hasn't been cleaned or noone has set foot in it in a very long time. As soon as we opened the door we noticed the mountain of unopened mail on the floor behind the door, the stench of unaired place was quite strong, we had to open the balcony door. The bedding looked clean but the bathroom was disgusting. The toilet is dirty, when I lifted the seat, you could see pee stains, the sink was dirty as well, on the floor you could see bits of gathered dust and hair God know from whom, and in the shower cabin there's a used bar of soap, because why not share your soap with a stranger in a pandemic! The mirror isn't clean either and there's little hairs from shaving along the edge of the cabinet. There's no cleaning products in the flat so we had to use our wet wipes to clean the toilet and sink so we can use it. In the fridge I noticed a big white stain that looks like spilled milk. And to top it all off, we tried calling the emergency number for the past 2 days and left a message as well but we've had no response so far, to either get a cleaner or be moved somewhere else. Filthy place that puts your health at risk, and in a pandemic is ever more important to minimise disease transmission. Really hope we don't catch anything, as we're forced to stay here until they get back to us. I would not recommend it. I can see they have a few positive reviews, I can only hope their other places are clean so to minimise disease transmission.
Aled Edwards: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueHad a lovely Bank Holiday weekend at one of their properties in Mumbles in April/May 2021. Great value for money and was all very well organised throughout. Some lovely personal touches also. Highly recommended.
Becca Price: Positive:Professionalism,ResponsivenessExtremely helpful staff, very accommodating, friendly and helpful. We haven't had our holiday yet, but my experience so far has been very positive.
Sheelagh Byrne: Looking forward to our holidayBooking easyCan actually speak with helpful staff
R S76: Home from Home came highly recommended to me by family members who have used their services for a number of years. On this occasion I sadly encountered a problem relating to the third party cleaning company. Home from Home (Owen specifically) have done all that can be done to rectify the issue and ensure that the matter is resolved to my satisfaction. Sometimes things go wrong and it is on these occasions that you find out whether a company can truly fulfil their Customer Service claims. In this instance they have. The 3* is therefore reflective of a 5* rating for Customer Service offset by the problems created by the third party company. My problem was very much specific to the cottage itself and I would anticipate that this was an unusual situation for them. If I was rating the Mumbles team (and Owen himself) it would be 5*. Such a shame they have been let down.I note that some people mention they are encountering problems in contacting Home from Home - I used the email address and was phoned back within a few hours on a Sunday - which surprised and impressed me.
Ray Price: Just returned from a week on Gower and myself and the family had a fantastic time. With all that has gone on over the past few months I was very nervous before going but have to say the staff were brilliant at providing reassurance and communicating everything ahead of the stay. I was so please to hear how thorough the key collection, cleaning and property preparation process was in regards COVID and this was very welcoming. I can only apologise for talking up so much time of the staff with my worries and so many questions. Roll on our next family trip to Gower!
Jennifer Evans: We had to move a booking due to member of the family who was shielding and cannot thank the staff enough for all their help and support. I totally appreciate the issues that Pandemic has had on a business like this and how difficult the past few months have been for them but the staff were fantastic throughout super professional. Thank you Home from Home.
Allan Letford: Without doubt worst customer service experience in my lifetime trying to get my money back.It is like all my nightmares combined. They said they have refunded my money to my credit card and it is MISSING i.e. not in my account.I am told it is my problem to sort. When I ring their bank they say it is their responsibility and a simple process to trace the money not mine. The oroblem is caused by them not using normal practices for refunding payment on a credit card.
Julian Legg: Would give 0 stars if possible. Cancelled due to owner deciding cottage not available. Converted my payment to a voucher with no option of refund. Couldn’t get through by email or phone to discuss (on hold for 40 mins at one point!)Ended up seeking refund via credit card.A very unpleasant experience.
Jonathan Quigley: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueHome from Home have been fantastic across the period that we have worked with them. We've had two properties and they were great in marketing and managing them both for us over the years.
Ian Hoggart: Having major issues with this company from a service level. Think very carefully before booking any rentals through this provider, there are better options to useService: 1/5 …More

Linda Elizabeth Knight: We hired several cottages for a family get together with 4 young families for a 70th Birthday Weekend. It could not have been more suitable. We went horse riding, but we also enjoyed seeing other riders come and go. All the cottages were comfortable and easy to live in, with safe enclosed gardens. We partook in several of the activities linked to the Centre and enjoyed them all. The beaches are nearby....The Stone Barn made a very special party venue. We could not have asked for more and we have all come home well exercised and refreshed. Thank you to everyone we met at Clyne Farm.Linda
Jeff Ellison: We love staying at Clyne Farm when we're visiting Granddad who lives in Pennard. Poppy, our five year old, loves to get in a good riding lesson while we're here. So convenient, comfortable, and the views are outstanding.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Kid-friendly …More
Darryl Sutton: My partner and I stayed for a week in Chapel barn. The property was stunning full of period features. Very cosy and homely feel. Gorgeous views of surrounding fields and the coast. So peaceful yet still really close to the mumbles which is full of lovely bars and restaurants. The staff were all lovely and friendly. We will definitely stay again.Rooms: Lovely period features. Very cosy and decorated to a high standard.
Lyndon Evans: It has been and still is a great experience foe me to study Equine Care, Grooming and Stable Management with the instructors at Clyne Farm Centre. To further my knowledge and understanding of these areas, when working with what I would call my equine friends, and very knowledgeable instructors. All the instructors and office staff that I have had the pleasure of working with were excellent in providing me with information, and building up my understanding of the needs and welfare of the horses that I have had the honour and privilege of working with.At all times safety has been of paramount when working around these majestic, beautiful animals.I cannot rate the experience that I have had, and still do high enough.I would without hesitation thoroughly recommend that anyone interested in learning about Equine Care, Grooming, Stable Management or learning to ride or improve their riding skills, get in touch with the centre.Again I cannot rate the instructors and staff at Clyne Farm Centre highly enough, and in the very professional manner in the way that the Centre is run.
Lee: Absolute delight. We will definitely be back. We stayed at the shepherd's cottage for my husband birthday surprise and I booked months ago and from the first email they were so helpful with arranging activites- we went horseback riding- my daughter had her first experience on a pony and it was magical. The location and view, stunningThe barn was lovely, so clean and comfortable. So a big thank you to all of the staff for a beautiful and welcoming experience. We will definitely be back!.
Sarah Hewett: We had the most amazing Christmas spent in the keeper’s Cottage. Ample room for us all, so clean and the most perfect location.Based in the woods we were able to let the dogs run free. The dogs were left a stocking each along with treats for us adults. Anna and her team decorated a tree for us and there wasn’t anything that was too much.I can’t recommend these guys enough, it’s our second stay with them and we had the same experience in a different cottage. Such a wonderful team and the most beautiful setting.
Karen and Gareth Naylor: We were attending my aunt's funeral in Swansea and needed somewhere nice to stay with our 2 dogs nearby. What a gem we found in Chapel Barn, Clyne Farm!! Super clean, convenient, fairly priced and in a brilliant location with stunning views and lots of lovely animals. A great welcome hamper (for us and the doggies), even though we were only there for 3 nights. I really appreciated the level of detail and FANTASTIC customer service, with various personalised emails and a sympathy card welcoming us to the cottage (it even addressed our 2 dogs personally!!) We were able to walk out (no car needed) for walks along the gorgeous beach and also interesting town walks of about 13 miles. We stopped for lunch at the amazing value and quality Thai Beach View and Sunday lunch at The Woodman - all super dog-friendly. Good quality takeaway at Banana Leaf in town too. We loved seeing all the kids having a fantastic time getting ready to go horse riding as we were preparing our breakfast! My aunt had a great send off and we had a fantastic, all-too-brief stay.
Ian Davidson: Stayed for a week in the Old School House. Warm, cosy, great views , friendly helpful staff. Lots to do on and around the Farm and surrounding area. Great place from which to explore the Gower. Would definitely go again.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Amy Misson: We stayed in Keepers Cottage with a group of friends and had the most amazing time. For a start it's so peaceful and relaxing being in the heart of the woods. The cottage itself is deceptively big, with great spaces for lounging and putting your feet up. The kids also had little play spaces of their own. We were also impressed with the number of bathrooms to bedrooms, no need to wait in a queue! And poweful showers! Sarah and Geoff were very attentive and were on hand if needed for questions. We would thoroughly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed
Rebecca Burns: Our weekend stay at Clyne Farm was just what the doctor ordered: stunning views, comfortable accommodation, gateway to beautiful beaches and all those thoughtful extras that you’d never expect of a self- catering cottage. Throw in a couple of great friends, a few bottles of Prosecco and a lot of laughs it was as perfect as it could get without breaking the bank. Thank you Clyne Farm!
Joanna Silcocks: Absolutely stunning setting. Cosy cottages with everything you could need! We had a wonderful stay- thank you!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

kevin Denyer: Nice place to stay. Quiet apart from walkers going to beach. Not many keep dogs on leads so issue if your dog has issues.
Angela Powell: Well what can we say .. this place to us is absolutely awesome .. located right down on an inaccessible to cars Bay right on the Coastal Path .. stunning views from Terrace .. brilliant to get up and go for an early morning swim .. so grateful for having the opportunity to stay there .. Thanking you kindly Bob & Kath Safest Regards
Dawn Hunt: Kath thought of everything, dvd's, books and games for rainy days. It was so peaceful, waking up to the waves instead of roadworks lol. Lovely cottage, right next to the beach.
Simon Jenkins: I haven't stayed here but I walk past quite often and speak to holiday makers renting the cottage. They always seem happy enough and love the unique location.
Susan Richards: Live local, just seen this online
Doug Alexander: Stayed on the Annex. Great holiday location. Full of history. Safe beach for the kids to swim in. Plenty of walks, but we most enjoyed hanging out in the cottage and messing about on the beach which never got close to being crowded.
Katherine Mattingly: Amazing idyllic cottage nestled in its (almost!) own secluded bay
Ian: Isolated
Fiona Hyde: Magical stay. ❤️
Keith Lloyd: A beautiful, mostly pebble beach nestling in a steeply wooded valley. You have to walk in
Marc Jones: Great place to hide away from it all. Brilliant weekend with family wandering along an almost private beach. Kath was really helpful and the place was spotless and very comfortable. Felt like a real holiday. Will be back in the autumn!
Hannah Jones: A fantastic holiday cottage and great owners who are a phone call away if you need anything. Quiet and right next door to a pebble/sand beach. You'll have to bring everything you need or a 4x4 to get up and down the coastal path.
Mark Rees: Great afternoon tea here .....

iain evans: Just had a week staying here in the Poppy cottage. Very comfortable, clean and plenty of room. New TV which appeared larger than the photos from when we booked. When using the WiFi tip is to use the one ending with Ext as the one in the book in the cottage has a weaker signal. Seperate room with the pool table was excellent which was a highlight for my son. Only issue is when arriving in the dark there is no obvious sign when you turn; the one that is there is further down; you need to keep to the right side track when heading down.
Bill Ryan: Well equipped comfortable 'home'. The location is lovely and is very peaceful yet close to plenty of commerce.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Chloe E: Lovely cottage and great location to drive around the Gower.
Shahenaz Ahmed: The cottage is in a nice a quiet location with a lot of attractions surrounding the cottage, but without a car, it would be impossible to visit. The place is run down and has cobwebs all over the place. Unfortunately, not as I expected.
Andrew Dix: Great location - rural and quiet but just a 10 minute drive from shops/restaurants and good central place from which to explore the Gower. Plenty of space for parking. Picnic tables, large grassy area where the kids can run around, free roaming chickens, ping pong table, washing machines and tumble dryers for everyone to use. Very comfortable beds, accomodation well equipped. We had a fantastic time. Not a criticism whatsoever, but should it be helpful to a reader - this place is probably not for you if you prefer to be walking distance from attractions - it would be a 45 minute + walk down country lanes to get to the nearest built-up area. Likewise, if slow/no wifi is going to frustrate you.
Andrew G: Beautiful spot. Everything you’ll need around a working farm (safe & family friendly). We had a great time in this centrally located gem
John MacMillan: Lovely farm location, secluded but still close to Gower and Swansea. The cottages are modern, clean and comfortable. Lots of outdoor space for families.
Martyn James: Very nice quiet spot, ideal for relaxing. Cottages have all you need for a great holiday, Rooms all spacious, lovely and clean. Easy access to many gower beaches and lots of lovely scenic walks.
Hannah Mason: Excellent cottages in an absolutely beautiful setting. The cottages are so lovely and have everything you need inside. Gorgeous outside area to sit in the sunshine and the kids loved playing outside. The family who run the cottages are so lovely and helpful too. The cottages are close to the Gower which has beautiful walks and also a short drive to the city centre. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Swansea I would definitely recommend these stunning cottages.
Stuart Dunn: If you like being out in the sticks, and would like to experience country living, this is the place to go. The accommodation is fantastic with up to date decor and in fitting with their surroundings. Its a good base for visiting this area of Wales, being only a stones throw from Swansea, the Gower and Llanelli. Its also great to get in, cook a meal and enjoy the silence within the accommodation. Would really recommend visiting here, really is a fantastic place if you like to relax and get away from all the built up madness.
Hafsa Limbada: We visited Duffryn Farm last week. We had a great time especially the kids. The kids really enjoyed playing out on the farm and loved the chickens. 😊The cottage was clean and had everything we could need. From clean towels to kitchen utensils. Thank you Rita and Mr.Richards also for the beautiful fresh eggs. We are planning to visit this summer again. Thank you very much and see you soon.
Ammar Hassan: Grate location , clean, comfortable and equipped. Thanks for Rita.
charizard squad pokemon cards: Beautiful
claudia GALE: Dunvant is a great place to stay on the Gower. There was plenty to do for a week. We stayed in the annexe because it said it was disabled friendly. Unfortunately it isn't, there was no space to move a wheelchair around, we were told we could move the furniture round but this would not have helped. The bed was solid and for someone with extremely painful legs this meant very little sleep despite upping my pain killer dosage. There was also no way of getting around on site, most paths were pebble, thus not wheelchair friendly, and to get to the road was up a steep unpaved dark road so completely impassable by chair. Widening a door and putting in a shower does not make it disabled friendly! Probably a good place for an able bodied person but no good for me.
Neil Kendall: The cottages are lovely and very comfortable for a week's holiday. Plenty of grassland right outside the cottages for any young ones to burn off some energy. Inclusive WiFi. Good location for exploring the Gower. All the amenities you could need.

Swansea Valley Holiday Cottages: what do users think?
Stuart Hall: I had the pleasure of staying at Swansea Valley Holiday Cottages in 2022 with my family on the back of a cycling event. We loved it so re-booked immediately for 2023. Unfortunately, a family emergency meant that we had to cancel at the last moment. The booking was non-refundable so I thought I was sure to lose my money. Swansea Valley Holiday Cottages were fantastic. They quickly realised that I was a repeat customer and refunded in-full without question. This totally exceeded my expectations and their obligations. This is exactly how customer service should be - I will definitely stay here again whenever I next get a chance. The cottages are beautifully restored and converted farm buildings in an idyllic hidden area of Wales that's still close enough to the town if you need your amenities. Really gutted we couldn't make it this time around.Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic. We stayed in the one bed accessible cottage which had the most wonderful Riverside patio which caught the sun even in early March. Warm and cosy, and fabulous owners who were very helpful with bike storage etc.For anyone who is planning to work from 'home' while on holiday; Checked ahead for WiFi strength (I had to do a couple work meetings from there) and I'm glad to report that it exceeded their estimations; I ran video calls with shared screen etc without any issues.Walkability: Fabulous private walk around the farms land - signposted

Neil Chivers: We had an absolutely fantastic time while staying at Swansea Valley Holiday Cottages. we stayed in Ty-Gambo and the overall property and facilities surpassed our expectations. The farm is nicely secluded in a very peaceful setting, but also not too far away from local amenities. The visitor guide book inside the property was absolutely incredible with so many useful pieces of information on what to do locally and where to explore. It made us realise that we will definitely have to come back again to see much more as we only got to visit a fraction of what was contained within. Richard, our host was extremely helpful and whilst we missed his call on arrival he did check in to make sure everything was ok and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit for a few days during the February half term.

Elizabeth Dungar: We have always preferred self catering and have stayed in various places, both in the UK and abroad and this was by far the best place that we have ever stayed in.The cottages were fully equipped, with everything you can think of having been thought of and provided. The information booklet was extremely comprehensive, even including suggestions for where to go and what to do should you experience a whole week of bad weather. We were lucky to enjoy beautiful weather, but how useful and thoughtful to have so much information should we have needed it.We hired 3 cottages for a week with our children and grandchildren, to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday and all the different generations thoroughly enjoyed it and said that they want to return. In fact we spoke to other people staying there who were returning. The setting is idyllic, ideal for us oldies to relax, as well as many places of interest within easy reach and with plenty for children to do, such as visiting the farm shop for milkshakes, walking to the village store to buy goodies, exploring the stream, trails and surrounding countryside. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful and on hand should we have needed anything, but as above, we wanted for nothing.I cannot recommend Swansea Valley Cottages enough and we cannot wait to go back.
joanne smith: We stayed in the Old School House and it needed some TLC as did the whole estate. Don't be fooled by lovely photos, this place is run down. Dodgy shower, range cooker a pain to use and unfriendly welcome. Garden shared with huge Manor house next door which was also our view, again clever photos disguised this. Members of owners family used the Manor House intermittently so no privacy, kids running around and they blocked in my car. The more modern cottages elsewhere on the estate look much nicer and have designated parking.
Em Blake: Great place, quite-ish and peaceful, clean with lots of green around just perfect place to relax, everything you need is provided inside of cottage, it's family orientated place so kids will be around roaming with parents not care of a noise they make, (parents fault not cottage owners) other than that good dog friendly placeRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Rebecca C: So lucky to have found this delightful holiday cottage /farm. We stayed in Lloc Llo cottage. It was really well appointed with everything we needed, clean and modern. It’s a perfect location to explore. We didn’t manage to do the farm trail due to the weather - hopefully another time! Thank you for having us :-)Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
