There are plenty of recreational activities near the Hertford Camping & Caravanning Club Site. Visitors can take a walk into the town centre via the River Lea towpath walk, visit Balls Park for dog walking, or explore the Cole Green Way which is part of the National Cycle Network. Hartham Common is also situated just a few minutes from the town centre and offers more recreational activities.

There are grass pitches with no electric hook-up, grass pitches with electric hook-up, and hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up available at the Hertford Camping & Caravanning Club Site. These pitches are suitable for standard sized tents, caravans, or motorhomes.

Visitors can explore nearby attractions such as Paradise Wildlife Park, Knebworth House, Waltham Abbey, and take a train to London from Hertford East train station. There is also a monthly farmers' market in Hertford where visitors can purchase locally-reared beef from Foxholes.

Visitors can explore Hereford Castle, where Queen Elizabeth I spent a lot of time during her childhood. The castle was a royal palace for over 300 years, and although only the gatehouse and secluded grounds remain, it still makes for a fascinating visit.
