The owner, David Seddon OND, HND, graduated in Hospitality, Catering & Food and Management Studies and has worked continuously for over 35 years in many sectors of the food and hospitality industry. Under his ownership Clifton Catering has been serving York and the surrounding areas for over 20 years.

We love to cater all types of corporate and private events and something unique to any occasion. Usually we bring along our beautiful little custom built airstrem trailer, it can be parked up anywhere, looks the part and provides amazing street food options to impress your guests. There’s also our range of grazing menus, picnics, canapes and dessert tables that all work well for any size of gathering.


Kate & Morgan catered for our wedding and were utterly incredible! Everyone raved about the food (...and haven’t stopped!). We chose a relaxed feasting style with a selection of meats and salads brought to the table and it was perfect. Foodie heaven! We chose the Cajun chicken, Sticky pork ribs and Texas beef... Could not recommend highly enough. Thank you for making such a difference to our day.

Wow - what incredible wedding food!!!! We originally asked Blues Catering to provide our wedding breakfast and canapés as we loved the idea of sharing platters using our own home reared and sourced meats. Nothing was too much trouble and they were happy to use lamb from our farm, quail eggs, pigeon and venison for our canapés. The menu was perfect and tailored to suit us. Although the size of the celebration was hugely scaled down due to the restrictions nothing was too much hassle for Morgan, Kate and the team. We were competently looked after for the whole day and everyone was incredibly friendly and professional. The food was AMAZING! Every guest has commented that the food was the best wedding food they have ever tasted and we couldn't agree more. Thank you once again. We will definitely be using you in the near future. My son & newly made daughter-in-law employed the ...Blues team for their wedding day catering last weekend. Canapes. Outrageously good. Dinner. Not only served in the most efficient & well mannered way but hot & utterly delicious. Evening supper. Topped off a great day for anyone that could possibly manage to fit more food in, with (again) hot & delicious food! Our brides father bought the team into the hall for a polite “Thank You” round of applause. I’ve been to a lot of weddings in my time but I can honestly say, I have NEVER seen 60 people - many previously unknown to each other - unanimously raise the roof with appreciation in decibels completely disproportionate to their number. From a love of pigs and meat, Ged’s life-long passion for food has helped the self-taught chef develop the company from a pot and pan, to one of the most well regarded and reputable catering companies in Yorkshire. Passion, enthusiasm and vision push Ged to where nothing short of excellence is acceptable.

‘I LOVE food! I always have! Whenever I think back to some important memory in my life it usually connects to a meal I’ve shared with someone important. Like on my 18th birthday my step mum took me out to ‘Anthony’s’ in Leeds for my first fine dining experience. From that day I was hooked on that style of catering and the true care that goes into not only the food but the service, which is something we replicate at The Hog and Apple Food Co. I’m passionate about cooking to the point of obsession - I never really turn off from it even when I’m sat at home watching ‘Game of Thrones’ I’m still thinking about my next big idea for what I can make out of yuzu (citrus fruit) or some other new ingredient I’m obsessing over. I love my job here at The Hog and Apple Food Co. simply because every weekend, or whenever your big day is, I’m going to be cooking for you on your most important day of your life. It’s a big job and an important one and I love it. I always try to make the food the talking point of the day (apart from the dress of course!).

Cooking has always been Josh’s life. Having trained at Michelin standard in Jersey, Josh was part of a team who has cooked for The Queen and has always had a passion for banqueting and large events. It is this sort of expertise and knowledge that gives us the ability to offer the client dishes they would only expect in the best restaurants.

Everyone needs a ‘Robbie’. He’s the glue that holds the company together. From loading, fixing, lifting, arranging and cooking - Robbie is the unsung hero of the team. Super friendly, super helpful; he’s what we are all about.

Whatever needs doing, Molly can put her mind to it and get the job done with a smile on her face. An old head on young shoulders, she’s calm, confident, versatile and there’s basically nothing she can’t do!

Ange and Doug are married and have spent their entire working lives in kitchens, restaurants and hotels. For the past three years, they have helped build The Hog and Apple Food Co. into the company it is today.

Doug has 15 years front of house experience in hotels and restaurants. Nothing is too much trouble, he’s your go to man at your event and is the person responsible for making the service of your food and drink a success. An outstanding front of house and true professional.

And don’t be deceived by Angela’s height! She is a heavy weight in the culinary world with her focus being on pastry and desserts. Her creations take it to the next level in outside catering but it doesn’t stop there, she also runs her own team on your big day from behind the scenes.
