Jorvik House: what do users think?

Rob Gray: Hotel highlights Romantic, Quiet, Great value

Karen Mallord: The room was lovely and literally had everything you could want or need in it. We went for Mum's birthday and they arranged champagne on arrival and I also had flowers delivered to the room as well. The hotel is located in the quieter side of the town but within 5 minutes walking distance of everything. There is a car park just around the corner and for just under 24 hours it was £18.The hotel was booked by my son for a gift but I would definitely return.Staff are friendly and the communication is excellent.Highly recommend xx

Paul Dawson: . Only slight complaint is that acoustics between rooms is poor and that you can hear everything from the adjacent & above rooms. WiFi is also pretty poor but local 5G was pretty good. Mini bar as in most hotels is also pricey but that’s the norm these days. Staff on greeting us and booking in were very welcoming and were attentive when we came and went each day…would recommend this hotel as a comfortable place to stay and visit the city of York 👍

Travelodge York Central: what do users think?

Helen ONeill-Nash: Clean comfortable and great location to visit York.. bonus weatherspoon next door. Is what it is. Cheap and cheerful.Rooms: Basic but comfy.

amrita singh: We stayed here for 1 night and John the manager helped us a lot in getting a nice family room with good view he understood that we are with a child and helped us also he told us about nearby places very good guys 👍🏻👍🏻 recommended hotel in York 👍🏻👍🏻Rooms: Very clean

xKay Mariex: Stayed again for my birthday as it’s close to the city centre & it has a pub right next door, can hear people outside in the smoking area if you’re facing that way but nothing too noisy there. Negative is they shouldn’t state they have a quiet floor, asked to be on here as I’m autistic but as the walls are thin, you can hear people talking and even making their coffee in the middle of the night as the coffee machine is very very loud! It’s a good place to stay if you want to be close to things just know there’s noise and no quiet floor as the walls are really thin!!! Get ear plugs if you wanna stay here.

Ron Blakey: Booked in for 3 nights while exploring York. Arrived 20 minutes prior to check in time but not an issue. We were given keys straight away and able to access our room. Good size room for a standard plus. Bathroom also spacious. Had to ask at reception for a hairdryer and also a replacement coffee machine as ours was not working. Hairdryer was supplied immediately and replacement coffee machine within an hour. The hotel doesn't have food but found a witherspoon pub right next door. Location of hotel is very close to some attractions such as Jorvik centre and Clifford's Tower. Bed is king size and very comfortable. Great value for the money on a 3 night stayRooms: Large room and bathroom. King size bed, 32" Samsung freeview TV. Office chair and armchair with full length desk. Lavazza coffee machine as well as kettle for tea etc.Nearby activities: Walking distance to York Minster, Jorvik viking centre, Clifford's Tower and York Castle museum. Plus main shopping area and Shambles marketWalkability: Mostly flat around the hotel and walking into main centre. Only warning is some parts of pavement on way into and around centre is cobbled so may be awkward if you have walking difficulties

Sam Gormley: were great and all freshly cooked - you can choose from full Englishes, eggs Benedict etc as well as a continental selection.Throughout our stay, we were really impressed by how attentive and thorough the staff were, and when we asked about restaurants in town we got some fantastic recommendations from the team.We highly recommend this B&B right in the middle of old York. Thank you for a great stay!

Emily Bowman: Booked a table for drinks for a big party of 17 for an hour and a half, Judges lodgings were more than happy to help over email for this request.Food & drinks: Very nice cocktails done to a high standard!

TheMayze: Excellent all round. Definitely recommend and will be back.Rooms: AmazingNearby activities: York city centre

Angela Young: Would definitely recommendRooms: We stayed in classic double room which was a good size & very well equipped. Very comfortable bed & good quality toiletries.Nearby activities: Very close to the centre so easy distance to most of main attractions & amenities.Walkability: Easy walking distance to numerous shops, cafes, restaurants & attractions.Food & drinks: Very good quality food. Good sized portions

OYO Diamonds Inn: what do users think?

Mariano Pochat: The room met the basic requirements. The location is very accessible to places of interest. The receptionist attended us correctly at the time of check-in, but then we never saw him again since the reception closed and no one was left. We left at approximately 10 am and the key was left in a mailbox at the entrance... Luckily we didn't need to locate it for anything...

John McEwan: Very clean, comfortable room. Good service and excellent location. The facility to leave our luggage at reception after check out was really useful.Rooms: Clean and comfortable.Walkability: York City Centre within easy walking distance.

alan clark: A lovely place to stay. My 1st staying there, comfiest room. Near to York city centre. Pleasant staff. Would certainly use again as was a great price.Rooms: Nice roomWalkability: Easy distance for city centre

Rory Underwood: The staff were very friendly, but rarely seen because reception was always closed with a keypad door. We were given a 15% off card for a local cafe which was great. Location was great and the price was too.The bed and pillows were a bit lumpy, and the top drawer in one of the side cabinets was broken, so maybe time for a refresh. Also, the room was quite cold as the radiator was never warm. The space heater also wasn't quite powerful enough for the roomWalkability: It's right by monk bar so you can just stroll into town within a few minutes and be at the shambles or minster.

En el jaraiz de Poveda: The girl who received us was very friendly, she helped us in everything she could. Our room was on the top floor but it was no problem. At night we had to turn on the radiator they left us because it was a little cold and a little water came out when we flushed the toilet.Still it was clean and there were enough towels, also gel and shampoo and teas with the kettle. The best is the proximity to the cathedral and tourist spots.

Peter Mudie: Very friendly staff, good location near the centre of York.Rooms: spacious family room big enough for 3Walkability: Just near Monk Gate for easy access to the city

Michelle Schofield: I normally stay in Travelodge and thought I wanted a change. And I am so glad I did , this was a really great hotel the staff was amazing couldn't do more for use even it they tried.Very clean Throughout plenty of hot drinks provided .The location was on the door step to everything you needed.I would stay here again .A* serviceA* cleanlinessA* locationA* price.

Rebecca Lloyd: It was an absolute delight staying here. The owner is very friendly and more than happy to help. The rooms are very clean and great value for money. And it is q very short walk into York being only minutes from the shambles. We will definitely be using this location again in the future.Rooms: The rooms are great value for money and come with very good amenities.Nearby activities: It is withing walking distance from all the York main attractions such as the shambles,York Market, the chaple and so on.Walkability: Although there are a few sets of stairs internally, it is only a short walk into york.Food & drinks: The rooms come with tea and coffee facilities and a fridge which make it easy to bring your own food and some rooms even have a stove.Across the road is a beautiful Indian, where the staff are brilliant and the food is georgious.

TFT: and so I arranged an overnight trip: a triple room at Diamonds Inn

Ruihan Xie: The water heater in the guest room was broken. It took half an hour to fix it. The service staff was very enthusiastic.Walkability: Very close to attractions

Lisa Brooks: Room was clean and tidy. Few marks on the carpet but never the less, tidy and comfortable. Small fridge has a bonus so we could keep additional milk. Bathroom floor was freezing as was the shower itself. Couldn't get the water warm, but the tap water was warm enough to get washed. Checking in was a breeze, checked in earlier with no issues. About a 17 minute walk to the main centre with the kids.

Yolanda Fernandez: The room is fine. It is very close to the center. In the 3 nights we stayed, they didn't make our room, they only put out the towels one day, nor did they make the beds.On the other hand, they were kind when it came to leaving our suitcases on the day we left from the morning but only until 4 in the afternoon.

Ali Bradshaw: Lovely bank holiday weekend break staying at the Friars Rest Guest House. Fantastic location with only a short walk to the city, very large room with ensuite, super clean with coffee & tea replenished daily plus parking available. Steve was a lovely host & we would highly recommend. We will book directly if ever we plan a weekend in York in the future ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Carolyn B: From booking to leaving, Steve was a great host, nothing was too much trouble. It is out of town, but free parking was a bonus. There is a bus stop nearby to get bus into centre,or, cross the road, down the lane then walk along the River to the town centre. Barbican is a short walk away. Tea,coffee supplied. No breakfast which suited us fine as you are not on a time schedule for breakfast. TV in room, shower and toilet en suite. Small space to hang clothing but adequate for 3 nights. Kez Fuz: and on a quiet side street with parking that is only £5 a day just outside the property. The gentlemen who showed us in gave us lots of advice on what to do/see in York and kindly told us that we can use the kitchen downstairs in the lobby to store drinks/food if we needed to. The room was the top floor one which had 2 skylights and a well fitted en-suite bathroom 🚽. 2 nights cost £137 which was very reasonable. We would definitely come again!

Jen Duffy: The hosts gave us such a warm welcome , showed us an easier way to get to the train station for way home , carried our bags upstairs to our room ,wished us an happy anniversary, and even gave gave us a card ,our room was cozy and warm and they asked if we had everything we needed ,the provided a cot for our baby and was really sweet with him every time they saw him ,in this hotel you are welcome to buy food and cook it and gas a lovely area to rest or eat ,I would definitely stay again we had a lovely stay

Boof Edge: I stayed there on Sunday for 2 nights, for my birthday. What an excellent, enjoyable stay we had. Moss was there on our arrival, it was around 20:00, and was very friendly and attentive from the start, there doesn't seem anything that he won't do to make your stay a great one.He gave us a map and took time to show us where to go and how to get there and a few places that we were on about going.Could not fault our room, Vikings Accommodation is an absolute gem of a place. 5 minutes walk from the town, with a few nice pubs and shops on the way. Will definitely be staying there again, hopefully in March.Thank you Moss👍👍👍👍

Marion Polhill: Host is pleasant and accomodation was warm, inviting, clean and tidy. Room was lovely. Also great location for visiting the Shambles and York Minster.Rooms: My daughter and I were allowed to bring our two Chihuahuas. Everything was considered for the needs of guests.

Mary Kivlin: was so comfortable and spacious, a home away from home, so peaceful too. Both of us slept brilliantly, mind you the miles of walking we did each day helped with that. Coffee and tea facilities in room are excellent, little biscuits and chocolate too. Bathroom was fab and had everything we needed. Highly recommend as so central for going everywhere. Thanks so much for a perfect stay

Holiday Inn York City Centre, an IHG Hotel: what do users think?

Mark Palmer: . Like a lot of Holiday Inns the decor is a bit dated although the rooms are more than adequate. Food is pricy and certainly suffered from shrinkflation and I’d recommend eating in the city for cheaper more wide range. Parking is generally okay although I have sometimes struggled for a space on busy weekends i.e. when the races are on, better monitoring of the parking entry system might be advised to the hotel. Staff are always very friendly.

Nick Allcock: Hotel on the edge of the city - 10/15 minute walk to the centre. Plenty of hotels in this area. Wetherspoons is opposite alongside a Travelodge. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained, but views are not a feature. Service is good. This hotel is good for a city break in York or a business trip. It is not glamorous or pretty but a serviceable and comfortable hotel.

Fiona Meybirn: but booked room was supposed to be twin beds and was set up as a double, so had to get that resolved.Bathroom door was very difficult to open due to issue with handle. No extra cushions on sofa etc. Only 1 chair. Extremely small wardrobe

Denise Allen: Fantastic room, staff amazingRooms: BrilliantNearby activities: FabWalkability: Good

Minster's Reach Holiday Apartments, York, UK: what do users think?

Shane Poulton: My wife found this place on some sort of search, and I had hesitancy until we arrived. The location was fantastic, right outside the city wall and approx. 5mins walk to the Shambles area. Parking info wasn't too clear, but is directly behind in the town Monk Bar Car Park. We were parked there for a few days without any drama at all. My only knockback is that we were up a flight of stairs and I had to cart our 3 big Aussie filled luggage bags up them. The Location was just unbelievable for us to explore the York Centre.

Phil Todd: & the apartment was lovely - beautifully furnished & spacious. Highly recommended.

Chris Love: . I can highly recommend this accommodation for location, comfort and provision of equipment in the flat and we will be back soon. Thank you

Thom Rhodes: with minsters reach apartment. It is deceptively big on the inside and is within walking distance of the wall and centre, even factoring in the cost of the car park you have to use, it is definitely worth it. It’s a quiet area and really quite a lovely stay.We are still looking for a similar place to buy up there, it’s that lovely!A+ will use again!

Karen Cox: Great location, close to the Minster but also very quiet. The courtyard garden was an added bonus during the recent warm weather. The apartment was modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean, with everything you need for self-catering.I would highly recommend and will certainly be back.

Sally Stamp: I stayed again in the one bedroom flat. Love the location- right near the centre but quiet, with my own private courtyard, so I could stroll out to see all the sites but then come back for a bit of p and q.They had renovated the bathroom since I last visited and I really liked the tiling and storage space- and the shower!Comfortable bed with crisp sheets, comfortable sitting room/ open plan kitchen and the kitchen had everything I needed. Really like the complimentary gin and chocolates! It's my go-to base for York so I'll definitely be back.

Tanya Lucas: Good facilities and close to the City.

Lorraine: Great apartments. Had everything that we needed, spacious and close to town 😊

Hayley jg1971: and just had another fantastic stay in June, will definitely re-book for our holidays next year too.

Paul Lomax: Stayed in a two bedroom apartment with my family. Just a short stroll into the city centre. Parking on hand too which was superb for us with having children. We arrived late at night at the heating had been left on for us so was lovely and warm and cosy. Apartment was spotless and well equipped. Would highly recommend minsters reach apartments.

Sharon Lucas: Excellent flat. Everything thing you could want. Right in the centre of town so not far to go for food

Rebecca Finley: Clean, well appointed and in a convenient location. Would definitely book again.

Cari G: Fabulous accommodation in an excellent location

sean gullam: Simply superb location, gated and key locked so very secure, reasonable public car parking literally out of the main gate. Little touches done very well. Will definitely be back.

scott smith: Great place, fantastic location, really enjoyed it
