The Bloody Tour of York: what do users think?

Paula Grau: Highly recommended! Funny, informative and dynamic 😁 A must do in York!!!!!!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Natasha Mills: We got off to a bumpy start as I didn't receive a confirmation or tickets after I booked, however I contacted Alice via Facebook chat and I got a response straight away with apology. My youngest was not keen to go, but even he enjoyed it in the end, Mad Alice was very animated and spoke very clearly and loud so that even my husband and oldest son who are hard of hearing had no issues.Mad Alice's storys were very interesting and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the way she tied it all together. She was really inclusive and done a great job of remembering most of the people's names and interacting with us all individually whilst we walked from one location to the next, it was good that there wasn't a great amount of walking too as we were all pretty shattered by 6pm.I highly recommend Mad Alice's tour if you're in York.

Phil Thomas: Took my 11 year old on this fantastic and somewhat grisly and bloody tour of York! We had a great time. Mad Alice is brilliant, an excellent, capable and entertaining guide even with a big tour group. Great value for money and we will definitely be back!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Alison: A really fun evening! Mad Alice is SO entertaining, and amazing at telling old stories of York. She knew everyone’s name from the start, and interacted with the group constantly. Definitely the best city tour we have been on. 100% recommended!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

chris love: We had a fantastic time on Mad Alice's Bloody Tour of Yorkshire! The walk was enjoyable, and Mad Alice kept us thoroughly entertained with her captivating stories. From tales of the treasury house to the cathedral, Guy Fawkes, and the tragic history of the Clifford Tower, every moment was filled with intrigue and excitement.Mad Alice's humor added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience, and her ability to engage with all the guests was remarkable. We were impressed by her memory recall for names, which made us feel valued and appreciated as participants.Overall, Mad Alice's tour is a must-do for anyone visiting Yorkshire. It's a perfect blend of history, humor, and personal interaction that makes for an unforgettable experience. We can't recommend it enough!

Puddle 412: highly recommended! We did the tour whilst exploring York for a few days My 10 and 14 year old enjoyed it too! Nice personal touch for all on the tour ensuring interaction with everyone. Great mix of ghost stories and horrible history type of tales taking in several famous areas of this beautiful city.

Michelle Fountain-hodgson: Brilliant! Funny & informative. Suitable for all the family!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Grace Joy Morphew: Can't recommend this enough!! We saw so many tours going round while we were in York that we were worried the market was saturated and we might not have picked a good one but we needn't have worried at all! Mad Alice was fantastic, the tour was great and full of interesting information. Definitely recommend this one if you're looking for a tour.

Hannah Blackmore: Absolutely amazing! Mad Alice was fantastic and she was so kind and welcoming. She remembers the names of everyone on the bookings which makes the experience feel so personal. It was the perfect mix of humour, history and ghost stories and the pace of it was great. I can’t recommend it enough! When walking between locations she was great at getting to know everyone. It’s a must do for anyone who’s a fan of history and horror!

Amy Louise: We had the pleasure of joining Mad Alice on her tour of York in December 2023. She was fantastic, informative and passionate about the history of York. I visited after a recommendation from my Dad and could not have been happier with the tour. Highly recommend as a must do for anyone visiting York or its surrounds.Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Catherine Andrews: Absolutely fantastic ghost tour, mad Alice talked to everyone, remembered everyone's name and there was a fair few of us. Very good storytelling and funny as we walked along.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Rachael Etherington: Just spent a fabulous evening with Mad Alice. She is so knowledgeable on York history she makes it such a fun evening. Interacts with the audience remembers each of our names which is a feat in itself.Would highly recommendVisited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Sean Mcgaharan: Wasn't sure what to expect but was sure glad we did this tour. Mad Alice is mad indeed but also incredibly charming with tons of character, funny and engaging, remembering everyone's name was impressive in its own right, made everyone feel welcome and included, but most importantly her knowledge of the city and delivery of its spooky gory history was brilliant! Would highly recommend anyone visiting York to do this. Thank you mad Alice.

Agatha Mae Rosal: It was a lovely tour with Mad Alice! Very informative and entertaining at the same time. Very impressed that she knew all our names 😊 Will recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit York.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Lorraine Fox: Such a fun & informative evening spent in the brilliant company of Mad Alice. Her knowledge and story telling was 5*. As a local, my friends & I still enjoyed seeing all the sights and learning about York’s bloody past. I would absolutely highly recommend this tour to anyone local or visiting York & we ‘had one for the road’ before going home 😉

Kirsty Devlin: Mad Alice’s tour exceeded expectations. Not only did she somehow know the entire groups names, she was extremely careful when guiding our group across the city.Hilarious and extremely knowledgeable and took a genuine interest in the group.

York City Sightseeing: what do users think?

Nigel Jones: Did the Hop on off Tour of York it was great as you can use it like a bus to get you around as well as the sightseeing really get to find out more about York and its history and good price too we both enjoyed it

Karen B: This was a great way to discover more about York. It is included on the York Pass, and you can get on and off as much as you want or stay on for about an hour to do the full tour.It has WiFi and USB charging sockets at your seat. The recorded tour was interesting, but it seemed to have not been updated to show the change of monarch.

Harry R: is highly recommended, made our tour incredibly interesting, personalised and is very funny! Well worth the cost of admission.

Daz Wood: An excellent way to see and get around York. The drivers give live commentary and are incredibly informative and entertaining. If you are lucky enough to get Keith as your driver, you're in for a fun tour! He's great!Highly recommended.

Joanne Williamson: You want the Blue bus as you get a real person rather than an automated voice. Some great views of the city and interesting stories.Tour takes about an hour. Kept my son and myself entertained as we gave our legs a rest. Didn't attempt to board with wheelchair or pram so unfortunately cannot shed light on accessibility here.

Nicola Santamaria: All these photos were taken from the bus

Jacob Weightman: Got an a two buses on the day and got two different tours with the information told in different ways some contradicted each other mainly to do with the two universities but overall a great way to spend an hour in York.

tracy kennington: Lovely MUA very helpful , patient and very knowledgeableMade me feel comfortable and at ease

Soap House: We came into the York store today to purchase make up, Anthony on the Estée Lauder counter helped my daughter choose a foundation and concealer, he was so so helpful. Really knowledgeable and gave great tips and advice. We will always come back now to buy now as the service was fantastic, thanks so much

Hannah Packer: Beautiful store. But my review is for the lady who worked within the fragrance department. The lady seen that my daughter had fallen over outside and was quite wet and muddy and obviously upset. The lady took us into the store and cleaned her up then gave her some fragrances. A bad situation was made into a kind gesture. My daughter Lyvv thanks you very much as does her mum and brother. Love a random act of kindness so Thankyou ; you are amazing

Brian Morrison: Not as large a Fenwick as our local one, in Newcastle, but it is well laid out and, as usual, has plenty of good quality products.

Helen Cleary: Buying a dress for mother of the groom in Phase 8. Amazing patient staff. Lots of choice.

BBQ King: Great shop, especially for mens clothes!!

Marks and Spencer: what do users think?

忞熈: This supermarket has always been my favorite while living in the UK. I can always find the food I want and of a certain quality.

Nigel Jones: Very large M&S with very good stocked shelfs and plenty of choices

Rich Deerdog: . Those were the days.

Klaudi: I like the salmon & cream cheese sandwich with pickled onions and spinach from Marks and Spencer café very much!I also tried speck which was delicious. Spanish jamón was also looking tasty. I think it's a great shop.

Anne Marie Stagg: if I want to buy clothes or homeware from M&S.I quite like the York branch as the clothing etc is well presented and I can usually find what I want.I haven’t used the cafe for a while but it was okay. The toilet facilities, as always, cramped and crowded. Really need some unisex or more female toilets.I like the Food Hall; it’s not the largest but they do carry a good range of products including gluten free and the fruit and veg is good quality and a decent price. When I visited earlier today there were huge queues for the many self service checkouts; as far as I could see there was only one member of staff trying to keep on top of that. This M&S does still have a few ordinary tills which I hope they will keep; staff on these are always pleasant, polite and cheerful.

m “MM” m: An great selection clean and overall organised!

Janet Wattleworth: Wonderful!

Arthur: Its your basic multistory marks and Spencer. There is a nice cafe upstairs, and bathroom on the same floor.

Derek Atkins: Always a pleasure to shop here with great value and selection of goods on offer. It's a must when I visit York and the friendly staff and service is the best end to shopping trip. I've never found a issue yet to complain over after going there for years. If only the other shops would be like this one. A huge thank you for your service.

Resham Tamang: Amazing market store in the heart of the city center

Alan Dyer: Brilliant store, great cafe

Josh Burnell: Got food at the cafe and it was pretty good. Fish and chips were a good portion and enjoyed it thoroughly. Tables were cleaned when we reached one however the toilets always have a massive queue and are on the top floor at the back but overall a big shop where it looked very appealing

Aya Alsabbagh: Nice place, for buying clothes & foods ,There's also a bakery , small one but still nice

Thais Santos: Unmissable city. Beautiful places to visit, such as the open abbey gardens, the castle tower, Yorkminster, the city wall and other tourist attractions. I visited twice and it wasn't enough to see everything. I suggest a three-day stay with time to take tours with guides telling you the history of the city.

Shaun Ferry: Fab city to explore

Pippa Young: Thanks Carole with the blue eyeliner for making our day by assisting our journey!! Beautiful station too
