4worldlovers: Our relaxed, Andalucian-inspired bar area is ideal for a spontaneous lunch or a glass of wine overlooking the busy street, whilst our more formal restaurant area is perfect for a leisurely evening sampling our Spanish fare. Mary MAC: Vegetarian options: Vegcheese option, goats cheese is recommended. Also have a separate vegan menu which was very imaginative.
Sianne Boomer: We went in on the off chance they were able to seat us and they were very accommodating, we had cocktails and food- the food was amazing, some of the best tapas I’ve tasted. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back if in York again.Wheelchair accessibility: There are toilets downstairs and it seems like it would be easy to navigate with a wheelchair.

Tristan Cairns: Had a lovely meal here, the manager in particular was really friendly & knowledgable of the huge selection of sherry's on offer. Served cold, with dry and light varieties, I was a complete convert and drank Sherry all meal, moving sweeter towards end. All the dishes were beautifully presented and delicious, and it was so good I've booked to come back 5 of us for my birthday in 3 weeks time, see you then ! Highly recommend.
Caboodle Travel: . My friend is Spanish and thought the food was authentic but disappointed they didn't have croquettes. It's a lovely intimate yet living dining room. Highly recommend if you're in the Fossgate area.
Yvonne Jacobs: After following Ambiente restaurants for a couple years I booked my husband and I to their Meet the Winemaker event with Sebastien Richard for a celebratory weekend in York. We genuinely enjoyed the event and the food was incredible. We never really work to pair our drink and food at home, but definitely have learned it’s well worth the extra research. Exploring Spanish wines other than the Rioja region has been a real eye opener. We had a lengthy conversation with Ambiente’s Group Manager, Robert Scott-South who spoke to us animatedly and passionately as well as being as attentive as his team. My only wish is that I would have loved a bit more narrative from Sebastien to the group in our side of the restaurant, it might have improved the atmosphere which seemed more intimate rather than social. A huge well done to the team the service was outstanding. We look forward to returning again to Ambiente for another event in the future.Vegetarian options: They catered well and equally delicious to meat and fish dishes.

James White: Visiting York for the weekend with the missus and called in this place for a couple of drinks and a bite to eat. Cocktails were so good im actually concentrating to write this properly. 🤣🤣🤣 Food was excellent my wife is a vegetarian so sometimes difficult to find a menu to suit us both. Service was as good as the food. Was served by a young man from Manchester. Kaiden, was both funny and friendly. Whole visit was thoroughly enjoyable. Well worth a visit whilst in the city.

Joseph Newman: bar with ‘wine flights’ and ‘gin flights’ available on a walk in basis, and special ‘experiences’ upon booking too. They have some really great good boards too, which are quite filling and a good portion. The value is a bit hit as miss, but the venue is exhaustive and has all the prices on. Service is great. They don’t accept Amex just FYI. Definitely recommend a visit here.
SR: We booked here on a personal recommendation for our weekend away in York and definitely weren't disappointed. We shared the Deli board for 2. I'm really not a wine drinker but I wasn't made to feel silly for not liking wine, or subjected to "oh but you MUST try this one I KNOW you're going to like it" as I sometimes am in other places! The deli board was gorgeous and great quality, and we were stuffed afterwards.The service was really friendly and prompt. We were sat at a little bench/bar seat, and my only criticism is that I didn't feel this was really big enough for the 4 people that were sat at it, we felt squished in by the other party of 2.Otherwise a fab experience, maybe our favourite food from the whole weekend!
Michelle Morgan: Beautiful wine selection, coupled with gorgeous cheeses on the centre of York.We had a lovely, lazy lunch with Pairings. Ordering four types of wine, cheese, a pork pie and dessert.The atmosphere is buzzy and lovely. Staff were knowledgeable and welcoming.I’d recommend asking for a table near the front of the restaurant as the back is windowless and without natural light.

David Marshall: Early evening weekday meal during Easter break. As tourists to York we weren't sure whether a reservation was required, but we were able to get a 6pm table without any fuss.The kids menu was generous, certainly enough for our 10 and 12 year old boys.Cocktails were very nice and the food was tasty. We had the sharing kebab which was great and just about the right size.Only complaint was the speed. Given the place was probably three quarters full, the length of time between ordering and receiving the main courses was a little over an hour, which felt a long wait.
Kylie Smith: Absolutely love this place! Go with the girls for cocktails and nibble and with the husband for the hanging kebabs! Delicious!Kid-friendliness: I’ve taken my daughter here for lunch and it’s child friendly for all ages.

Margaret ashbridge: Being gluten intolerant and pescatariam it's difficult to find a restuarant that offers a plate of joy but Lucia restuarant did that. Food well presented and tasty. Staff very helpful and with a welcoming smile very attentive. The only downside was loud modern music but on asking the sound was turned down leaving us to enjoy our anniversary meal with family . This was our third visit and we will be returning.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free risotto with truffle oil so very , very tasty.
