Adam Tiemeier: We were looking forward to seeing what this place had to offer since we were reccomended to go there, because of work its been difficult to find time to go there but we had an hour before work on saturday to check it out to we made sure we got there on time so we could have plenty of time to look around. We sat there for 10 minuites and still nothing as open, we tried to call the number posted out side and it was wrong, not the best experience.Would it really be that hard to just put a sign or even a notice on google to let people know, what do you expect to happen? for people just to know automatically??

A Z: Impossible to donate to them. Website says to phone up to arrange a collection of furniture but no matter how many times you try, on whichever day during their advertised opening hours nobody answers the damned thing! It's no surprise so much perfectly useful stuff winds up in landfill. Really frustrating as I'd like to donate but they're prohibiting me from doing so.

Dank Floyd 6996: Ordered a sofa which turned out to be a massive struggle to get into the house due to size. The guys delivering were able to persevere and managed to get it in for us. Took them over an hour because of how small our house is and big the sofa is. Honestly can't rate the service highly enough. Most places would have definitely dumped it in the street and told us to deal with it ourselves, but these guys went above and beyond.

Carol Prangnell: This place is so bad. Thought we were doing the right thing by offering two nearly new armchairs which complied with fire regs. We rang up to ask if they would take the chairs and after being asked whether we required a collection offered to deliver them ourselves. Arrived at the warehouse to be met by a very rude woman who said she didnt want the chairs because if they were part of a 3 piece suite the warehouse couldn't sell them. We were under the impression that the warehouse aims to help people in need of furniture but this appears not to be the case. Our advice is if you are thinking of donating choose a different organisation.

Told me I need to clean the sofa up and I have to drop the tv unit (which I have no way of doing) as not coming out for small items due to petrol prices. Pretty rude woman on the phone too. Paula Edwards: Went to Furniture Village at Clifton Moor. Greeted quickly by Dillon who explained how he could help us. We chatted about what we were there for. We were offered a hot drink which was very welcome. We wandered around and once we had made our choice Dillon supported us through the sales process. It took a while as the computers were slow and Dillon apologised as did his manager Ty. None of that was their fault. Dillon was very respectful, polite and knowledgeable about the products and if he was not sure he sort guidance from senior staff.A great experience of purchasing our new furniture.

This year bought a bed that is clearly a very different colour I ordered cream same as was in the showroom and iv received GREY customer service were unhelpful, rude and said they won’t do anything about it as the manufacture says that’s the colour ordered and blamed the bright lights in the showroom for the difference, I know the lights do this but not to this extreme there’s a huge difference, I told them I would be contacting my bank to get the money back and they just didn’t care the man on the end of the phone refused to even put someone more senior on the phone. This was a £2000 bed, the company is only interested in taking your money. York Store.

Lauren Ashley Home.: Worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with!! AVOID!!! Unless you want to spend a year chasing customer services from receiving wrong products and damaging your property but then passing you from pillar to post, not resolving any issues beyond your control and disregarding you completely after spending thousands of pounds with them! I’m now stuck with damage to my brand new flooring and products I didn’t order instead of the ones I did! Still awaiting a resolution, just can’t find a single courteous employee that returns promised calls/emails or is able to offer any sort of resolution after countless calls and emails!

James Firth: Craig, the branch manager here is extremely poor. Reported an issue of missing component after finding it was failed to be reported by delivery men. Repeatedly said its took you too long to report even though sofas under warranty. Terrible customer service, will never use DFS again due to Craig.

Tinket Bell: Bought 2 sofas 5 months ago, I usually spend quiet a bit on my sofas but I'm noticing wherever I buy there always bad quality, dfs is no different,I have a 2 seater and 3 seater L shape, when you sit on the cushions you can feel the wood frame through them, the cushion covers are stretching and look baggy, the material is looking worn, I'm self employed and are out of the house ALOT so for them to be looking so shabby with not much use isn't great, this was my 1st and last time I would use them. We spent 4k, as my dad says you get what you pay for, rubbish
Kate B: I purchased a set of ex display sofas in good faith. When I arrived to collect them, DFS staff in store has packaged them for me. When I got home an unwrapped I noticed that the arm of the chair was significantly damaged because the frame was broken, not something that you could see or feel, but something that you could feel if you lifted or moved it. Because the chair was so well packaged when I collected it and bound with duct tape - I did not feel the movement. There is no way the store did not know it was damaged at the point of sale. Once discovered - I contacted the store immediately who suggested I should have checked this but eventually agreed they knew it was damaged at sale point and that they would arrange to collect. The sofa also has a very pungent smell like garlic or fire. I was told this was the flame retardant used and I should have smelt the sofa before agreeing to purchase. After almost a month of back and forth, they collected but told me a refund would take 10-14 days to raise, then 21 days to process. Tried to escalate concerns with a store manager because i now have no money and no sofa - but unfortunately - they seem quite keen to blame the customer for not pulling about the sofa or accuse them of being rude if you ask probing questions. Not the service I have had from them in the past so a real shame. Customer service on the telephone were very helpful but sadly not able to resolve. Moral of the story - don't buy from the York store and if you do, make sure you smell it and pull the frame about for a 'sold as seen' item.
Darren Turner: Absolutely the worse customer service I have ever received. DO NOT buy from any DFS branch as the customer service and management team are not interested in the customer after taking delivery. Even after sending a letter to the CEO, with my total dissatisfaction in what i purchased, they are not interested. They would rather me complain on every single platform possible, which I am now going to do. ALL my family and friends will never use this company again!!! Please be warned.

Explained work required gave all sizes of bedroom and shower room, given a price which was accepted, then on fitting the fitter turned up and said immediately that he wanted extra £50 to take up old carpet and to move bed and wardrobe, (which had been emptied ready for them to make things easier for them). Fitted the bedroom carpet, then refused to fit shower room, wanted another £30 to fit that. Called the shop and spoke with owner, who called me a lier, stating he new nothing about shower room, although he had calculated the price on the same piece of paper with the bed and shower room sizes written on. Agreed with fitters to charge extra for removing old carpet and move of furniture in room.Moving of furniture and removing old carpets should be included or specifically noted in terms and conditions. No mention of these exclusions is in terms and conditions.Don’t understand why so many reviews are positive. Certainly a very bad service and rip off by this company. Certainly would never recommend or use them again.Prospect customers be aware. Don’t use them. Price might be competitive but service atrocious.

joanne BURTON: Easy to order the furniture but quality certainly no better than their sister company DFS. We have had the sofa for approximately 7 weeks and the seat base has lost its shape. Called customer services if you can call it that. Advised that we needed to fluff the seat it's a memory foam cushion which I put back onto shape constantly. When I queried why I was then told i need to sit in different places on it . So like a game of musical chairs I'm assuming. Absolutely a joke.

Our order was placed in August and so far we have not had any communication whatsoever from Sofology and its now December. We have tried to use the chat facility that they have but got no response, we have tried to ring them but every time we have been cut off. We went into the store at York on 4th December to try and find out some information. We spoke to a man called Phil who refused to answer any questions, he was very abrupt and not at all polite. All he would say was go online, I cannot answer any of your questions. We asked him if he could give us a contact name or customer care number..the answer was no go online. I asked him if he knew who the Sofology CEO was and he did not know. I asked him if he had an issue in store that he needed to escalate who would he contact in an attempt to get any help or number, Phil told me he would never have an issue. Finally we thanked him and left the store.After so many attempts I finally got through to sofology and spoke to a very nice lady called Chevonne, I explained our experience and Chevonne promised me that someone would call us. So far we still have not had any communication and the time frame that Chevonne gave us elapsed.So far all we know is that we went into store, placed an order and was told that we would get an order number online. We have not even been able to get an order number. If we wanted to cancel our order we would not even be able to do that as we seem to hit a brick wall every time we try communicate with Sofology.We have ordered a dinning table with another company at the same time as we ordered our sofa, and yes because of the times that we are all living in we experienced delays which we were happy with. The company communicated with us an even gave us a reduction as a good will gesture. We have our goods from this company and are satisfied, I wish Sofology could learn customer service skills.If you are looking for a new sofa please think twice before using Sofology, if you want great customer service then this is certainly not the company to use.We just don't know what to do now because we cannot even communicate with anyone, how long do you just wait and will our order ever come, does it even exist..I wish that I could get some answers.I am just worried that if this is the standard of the customer service then what quality is the quality of the product that they sell.Please beware.
Kate Rodriguez: Charming staff and pleased with sofa that arrived pretty much on time ( forgivable delay I’d say given the circumstances). Communication got a bit tricky at one point but I’m guessing that was COVID issues too.
Mohamed Shaaban: I ordered 2 sofas on 4-oct-2020.Their customer service is the worst at all, they changed my delivery time without even tell me when my new delivery will be!!! They don’t reply to their phone, they don’t reply to their emails, they just disappeared without a word, super bad service and no respect at all
Stephen Briggs: In less than six months two of the leather seats had stretched and on contacting Sofology I was informed that this was normal for leather.I am very disappointed in this product and due to Sofology’s response will not purchase from them in the future.

Kate Williams: The staff in store were pleasant, polite, professional, helpful and relatively friendly and smiley.I had been searching for a replacement sofa to take over an old one that's on its way out (not sellable at all) and my only piece of criticism is the sofa has a smell of cigarettes clinging onto the material as a whole, like it's come from somebody's home who used to smoke indoors, I'm really hoping it disappears with time and TLC and having phoned the store the lady on the phone was reassuring, calm and collected, helpful and polite so thank you to that lady.It's comfy, lovely and beautiful and it could smell of worse things than this.The store assured me that any item of furniture such as sofas and beds are thoroughly cleaned to a professional cleanliness standard and I don't doubt that, I doubt they'd fib about something like that considering it's a store representing the BHF! But things like this can happen, and of course I will look into trying my best to tending to it myself.I'm not here trying to lie, or slander or cause trouble these are my honest thoughts and experiences. Don't hesitate to browse the store and help support the research.Update since original review:Instore were absolutely smashing! So friendly, polite yet professional and very helpful, warming, smiley, patient and understanding!

Jessica Flanagan: A great store with lots of good quality pieces of furniture.I paid £25 for delivery and the delivery service recieved was shocking.I was told it could be anytime in the daytime but they would call me day of with a two hour window. They called around 2pm, which I missed, I called them back an hour later and they said they hadn't set off yet but were on their way.It was getting to be close to 6pm, with no arrival, and we had dinner plans. Still no update, so I called. They said that I could call the store to rearrange but the shop was closed so I asked them to continue the delivery as I didnt want to have to end up paying twice. We had to cancel the plans as they didn't get to us until around 8pm.When booking the delivery, I had previously opted for the day before but as I couldn't guarantee I'd be in that morning and I was told it could be anytime in the day, I didn't want to risk it. You should implement a system where it is either a morning or afternoon slot so a whole day is not wasted waiting for something that ends up turning up in the late evening.I do not consider daytime to be 8pm.
Jon Clark: I bought a table from the clifton Moor shop last Saturday paying for delivery a week later, which was yesterday. They said I would be called/texted when the delivery is expected on the day so I could be in. By 11.30 I hadn't heard anything so called the shop who said they were loading the van and should call shortly. I went out for a few mins and when I got back they had been with no call or text leaving a note to rearrange. I was so mad I got a refund for the table. When getting a refund they had the cheek to show me a screen shot on a phone which they said they texted and i replied, which was a blatant lie. Avoid this branch at all costs! If I could put no stars i would. Absolutely the worst delivery service.

Staff are friendly and very helpful.You can book for free furniture collection and house clearing there is a charge for house clearance.They have a website.They sell most furniture and electrical items including fridge freezers kettles dvd tv.Its next door too dunelm.
Vera Jones: Store staff really helpful and polite, but extremely disappointed with the delivery which cost me £35. I had been informed by the store staff that I would be contacted one hour prior to delivery. I received a phone call at 12 noon stating delivery would be between 1- 5 pm and upon asking for an approximate time they just said it "goes on the postcode" but they must have known it would have been the last or near the last slot and they eventually arrived at 5.30pm. The item was not fully assembled and there were no screws to attach the two parts together. Altogether very disappointed with the service.

Celia Q: Bought two oak Twingle sofa beds, a desk and ladder shelf, a swivel chair and a table. Great assistant in the shop and good communication throughout. Didn't attempt to self assemble, but the guy who did, did a great job. The furniture fits perfectly and is of such good quality and very comfy. I would recommend a visit to the shop, be warned though, you may be tempted to buy far more than you need.
