Melton’s is a fine dining restaurant serving modern British food and it was Michael’s position as Chef Proprietor, which made it one of York’s leading restaurant. The kitchen is now lead by Head Chef Calvin Miller, who has worked with Michael for over 10 years. Melton’s is featured in all the major food guides, has Two AA Rosettes.

Melton’s is renowned for serving high quality food in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Front of House is still run by Michael’s wife Lucy, who is also behind the ever-changing, eclectic, wine list.

Legacy’s ‘Signature Tasting’ menu is focussed on making the most of the beautiful produce from local surroundings. From colourful Spring vegetables, tender, locally reared meat and freshly caught fish and seafood, Head Chef Ahmed Abdalla has created bursts of flavour, ensuring that each dish is a taste sensation.

Legacy’s ‘Taste of Legacy’ menu allows guests to indulge in an expression of the signature eight-course experience. With seasonality, sustainability and locality at the helm of the menu expertly curated by Head Chef, Ahmed Abdalla, each course is an equally important part of the journey, at Legacy.

The restaurant’s expertly designed interior pays homage to the pioneering spirit of the inspiring engineers and architects of York’s past.

The ironwork, original oak paneling and blueprint murals remind us of the legacy left by those who helped shape York’s rich history. Our Grade II listed building oozes with the individuality and age of Edwardian England.

Chef-owner Neil Bentinck opened his inaugural restaurant in the summer of 2016 in a newly refurbished Grade II listed building, situated just beyond the ‘Micklegate bar’, a 12th century gateway in to the historic city of York.

At skosh we serve eclectic food in the form of snacks and small plates allowing you to graze as you go, or if you prefer, being served course by course for a complete dining experience.

Our succinct drinks offerings include our detailed wine list, with all bottles available by the glass, alongside seasonal cocktails and a varied selection of local and international craft beers.

4worldlovers: Something good came out of the pandemic as we added a lot more outside space for guests to relax in and dine.

Our new beer garden seats around 80 guests and has had a lovely atmosphere ever since it opened. We’re now firing up the wood burning pizza oven every day throughout the summer.
