Nuffield Health: what do users think?
James Foggin: Would be helpful if they bothered to pick up the phone during open hours! On hold for more than 30 mins with no response other than an automated reply at the beginning, and no mention of how much longer one can expect to be waiting for. Shocking really
fmf carvalho: 7/3/2023 - WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES. Another call to Ms Andrea Cussans, who I find out this morning is on holiday for a week and her substitute cannot help with the results done in February!!! In the meanwhile we have received 3 accounts and a telephone call to pay 🤔 yet NOBODY can indicate where the blood tests and CT scan results are 😡6/3/2023From entrance & 1st floor receptionists to nursing staff - 5 stars. Day of CT scan booked as per letter for 8am, we had to knock at the door of the CT scan truck behind the hospital to make them aware we were there. Finally seen at 10:30am. Further, we are still struggling as at 6 March for my husband’s blood results done on the 10th & 15th February as well as the CT results done on the 20th February! We have written an email and have left messages with the relevant doctors receptionists to no avail. We consider this poor patient follow-up service for the price paid for consulting private healthcare at Nuffield Hospital. Would appreciate acall from the hospital manager!
Stuart Moss: Well looked after by courteous staff.
Diane Lanni: If you don’t mind your CT scan being carried out in the back of a very cold truck which is parked externally near the main entrance then go ahead! No changing area in the truck, and yes, I kid you not it really is a truck! Read the instructions they send you carefully because they differ. Be aware there are no facilities for anyone you take with you either. Only saving grace are the receptionists. Go elsewhere if you can, you’re paying for this after all and trust me, its certainly not what I expected
Leslie Precious: Very impressive and the free parking was an added bonus 👍
Ian Middleton: Clean and comfortable surroundings when you visit health care facility always makes it less stressful been several times over the years always excellent treatment and care
Jenny Dowson: In Wednesday for total knee replacement, homeThursday! A great experience from friendly, professional and helpful doctors, nurses, physios, all the staff I met during my brief stay!
Franklin Alexander: Absolutely brilliant staff, Kate from the front desk was caring and helped calm me when I was stressed about my appointment. Radiology staff were friendly and attentive, I can't fault a thing
Nathan Carter: Generally a very poor service for the price I pay for private healthcare. No joined up communication - partic for myself who was left chasing my GP and the consultant on behalf of nufffield york who were of no help whatsoever!.I was advised in part physio was required and would be based here - receive a later call saying no appointments available for a while... !!!In general I would also consider a smile now and again from reception areas wouldn't go amiss !!! 😊Seek an alternative provider if you are thinking of this avenue !!!
Susan jessop: My experience was rubbish. Payed almost £3000 to have varicose veins removed. Had been measured for special stockings which they then lost the prescription for. Had to wait 4, yes 4 hours after my appointment time to be seen. Was told I couldn't have general anesthetic. Done under local anesthetic. Extremely painful. Told by staff "I was brave" Joke!!!!!
Chris Unsworth: Good luck trying to get an answer or appointment! After attending Leeds Nuffield for a consultation i needed to get bloods taken but unfortunately due to the tests required it needed to be a morning appointment. As i live in York i thought i could get the bloods take in York so called in on my way to work, basically got no help from the reception apart from being told i could enquire and book on line.Looked on line but the booking wasn't clear in relation to what the consultant had requested so i submitted a query, waited a while for a response before being told that they don't have a Hepatologist in York! This is despite me clearly stating i had seen the hepatologist in Leeds and just required bloods, i then received a response with a link to the same page saying i could ring for enquiries to which there is an automated message telling you to submit an email query or book on line!Sent a mail to enquire to get an auto response saying that it can take up to 5 days!So in summary for a private healthcare provider its a joke, Leeds are far better organised and efficient and capable of servicing your needs.Needless to say i will now have to explore other options to facilitate the blood tests including possibly having to return to Leeds due to the York inadequacies!Disappointed to say the least, now to see where the nearest Spire hospital is as my Nuffield York experience is poor to say the least!
Phil Denholm: Very good staff who explained everything and took time rather than had to rush everything
Stan Chaplin: I keep seeing Nuffield adverts everywhere online, projecting the heartfelt image that they care about helping people. Suspiciously tactical marketing considering there’s been an NHS waiting list crippling pandemic on the back of decade-long tory austerity and backdoor privatisation. The reality is Nuffield’s main purpose is to make profit, rather than nurse poorly patients back to health. Actual poorly people are a drain on profits; this business needs low risk, younger, easy, straightforward patients. That’s just not realistic for a healthcare setting, you can’t “pick and choose” who you treat. It’s unequal and artificial, not true nursing. It’s a mockery calling this place a hospital, it’s more of a medical hotel, where the doctors are glorified salesmen. I would hazard a guess that nurses join up for the better pay and easier nursing duties (no unexpected surprises) rather than doing nursing for the love of the job…Privatisation breeds corner cutting.Never forget, if Nuffield patients take a turn for the worst, they get taken to the closest NHS A&E; irony at its finest!
ronnie brennan: I have had two Hip replacements done by a brilliant consultant surgeon, one in May this year and the other one was last Saturday. I would like to thank all the staff for a comfortable stay. I had a bit of banter with the anesastiis, the nurses, the carers the cleaners, the receptionist. the physios, the chemist the cooks, everyone. Thank you all. The Consultant Surgeon came in to see if everything was going well on Sunday after the Saturday opps. Happy Christmas to all that staff at Nuffield.Haxby York.
Sarah Mcardle: I'm due to have a scan on Monday but my visit previously with Mr Stanley was good he explained my options sadly the equipment I need was removed so offered to go to Scarborough on probably 6 occasions to have treatment there not on NHS would have to pay £250 plus travel so going for second option treatment through Nuffield no charge to myself covered by NHS I was disappointed I couldn't get the best option for my medical needs but unable to do the travelling and cost to and from Scarborough several times as unwell myself and a full time carer for my adult son.
Sarah Varley: Fabulous hospital, friendly staff, comfy waiting area very professional team and clean hospital with pretty surroundings x
Jacqui Darby: Appointment at 6pm no waiting around, environment spotlessly clean, both staff were professional, kind and caring. Both tried to make the experience as best as possible, l knew exactly what was going to happen, it is a noisy procedure but you are given earplugs, headphones with music if you so wish. Thank you to both staff.
john atkinson: Wife was kept in overnight unexpectedly so I wanted to go an see her. I checked the Nuffield web-site and it said visitors welcome but check individual hospital site. Nothing on York regarding visitors at all. So I rang and after 15 minutes on hold I thought I'd drive the 9 miles to the hospital but keep the call open in case visitors weren't allowed. Call disconnected from their end en route so rang back. Reached hospital after 30 mins still no answer but notice saying for patients and visitors to enter car registration at reception. Nobody at reception, no phone, no buzzer or notice saying what to do if not manned. I waited for 10 minutes - nothing. Eventually I tried to find somebody. A sign said visitors report to ward reception, so I did that. Nobody there. No buzzer, no notice. So I waited ...and waited. After about 5 to 10 minutes a nurse came and said visitors weren't allowed. This isn't a comment on the medical care but their security and administration is shocking. From web-site to switchboard to staffing it's shambolic. I can't respond to the reply below but I can amend this post. Does the response have any thing to do with my post? No it' s also 4 years or of date. Reflective of their admin I'm afraid.
stelian bucur: Yes staff is very nice when you get there but that and the MRI scan was my only pleasent experience .Everything is very slow there . NHS provides better service in my opinion . communication is difficult . No one would give a straight answer ,when calling they just redirect you to a different department .I felt like talking to my gas supplier . i just needed my test results . yes you are ok no you are not .... They really like to make things complicatedWrong appointment text reminders . I was late obviously because of that . I was told by the consulatant I've got 3 minutes because I was late ...seriously ?!Diagnostic before test results ? I really don't understand that. I am not an antibiotics person unless is the only way .2 months with them and still no proper diagnostic and I am still in pain2 stars as they always speak nice and they apologised for the text reminder ( don't know if that really matters that much )
9k fabrications: First class hospital.well pleased with help given and first class results. Sorry about the one star that was an error. Changed to 5 well earned stars!
Graham Scarisbrick: Had keyhole surgery on my right knee a couple of months ago and have just come back and had full knee replacement on my left knee today. The experience on both occasions could not have been better! All the staff have been extremely courteous, caring and friendly without exception! And the food is gorgeous! Can not recommend highly enough!

Stonegate Medical Clinic: what do users think?
Geoffrey Morrison: Very pleasant efficient staff, always on time and extremely knowledgeable
Dee147: A highly professional and efficient service. I was able to book an appointment the next day. The doctor was excellent and followed up on everything required very promptly. The manager and reception staff were all helpful and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Oli Gilmartin: Dr Roberts may well be the most attentive practitioner I have ever come across and I've known some great ones.
John Nisbet: I cannot speak highly enough of the whole team at Stonegate Medical. The friendly staff and the wonderful and thoroughly professional doctor made the full medical examination a fearless and comfortable experience . Ten out of ten fro me!
Iain Cutts: The doctor whom I saw was friendly, fair ( she didn't charge me when she was unable to remove the wax in one of my ears ) and persistent - the next time I came it was clear it was really difficult, but she stuck at it with good humour.
Martin Birley: Great to actually see a GP, be listened to, have an explanation, and an effective treatment. Just like the old days, before the Tories.
Emma Moore: This was the second time I had used the services of Stonegate Medical and again completely satisfied with the treatment received. I am partially deaf and it has never been an issue to communicate via email. The office management are so very friendly and Dr Buk-Filak is so very friendly and understanding and was nice to speak about my race which she was signing my medical form for....it didnt feel like a 'right lets get you in and kick you out'. I will definitely recommend and also be using their services when needed in the future. Thank you. :)
Ben habeeb: German doctor was so unhelpful
Alex Harrison: Great service - an appointment was available the next day. It's a great location for me and the premises are lovely. There is a relaxing waiting area and a friendly and professional receptionist. Dr Kavu was great, she put me at my ease and quickly diagnosed the issue and addressed my concerns.
Cally H: Would NOT recommend, nothing but problems. After discovering something concerning on a full health check, the doctor FORGOT to refer me, after ringing up to check to see when I would hear something the doctor apologised and said she forgot to refer me, she would do it straight away and I would hear something within 2 weeks, I didn’t. They never got in touch it was always me chasing up and ringing, sometimes they didn’t ring back they emailed. Long story short I went in May and have only just got an appointment through. My partner and daughter have also had bad experiences with the rude receptionist. My first experience with Stonegate and probably my last.
Louise Dickson: Visited the clinic today for completion of forms enabling my son fit to take part in Camp Thailand. All staff were excellent at getting this request through at short notice, professional & kind plus my son has now acted on their advice & started packing. Thank you again I was very impressed
chris mcknight: What a fabulous professional medical clinic Nothing too much trouble and call backs always as promised. A breath of fresh air to speak to someone within a few rings of the phone and have a face to face with a caring doctor almost immediately!Dr Modesta Kavu was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and dealt with my issue with the utmost professionalism and reassurance.Would not hesitate to recommend this fantastic practice five stars all the way !Thank you
Paulo De Carvalho: Friendly, professional and an overall wonderful practice to visit.Dr was amazing and truly caring and im so thankful for the treatment offered to my mom.Thank you for looking after my mom in her time of need.
Jane Doe: I needed a 'fit to work' medical for an overseas job, including some blood work. I tried the large private hospitals in York, simply because I've used them before for similar, but this time their customer service people either didn't read my query properly, or didn't respond to me at all. After Googling for alternatives, I found Stonegate Medical Clinic's website; they dealt with my query within hours, and booked me an appointment for the same week. I mentioned, when booking, that I'm terrible with blood tests (my veins don't like them), and the receptionist kindly informed the doctor about this, and gave me an extra-long appointment. On the day, the doctor was warm and friendly; she put me at ease (as much as possible, given I have 'white coat syndrome'), and she managed to get some blood out of me. The results were received quickly. I will remember the clinic for next time. Thank you to everyone at Stonegate Medical Clinic!
Nathan Bennett: Thanks to all the staff at Stonegate medical practice. Easy to make an appointment at a convenient time, completely hassle free.Expert care from Dr Robertson. He was on time, very knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend him and the lovely atmosphere of Stonegate.
T Bolton: Wonderful practice, seen same day, reassured after a thorough examination. Different treatment options given, no pressure to take the more expensive one! Reception so kind and organised and everyone running on time. Highly, highly recommend.
Imy l: I was really struggling to get an appointment with any kind of clinic or my gp so called this clinic by chance. They were extremely kind, understanding and professional and really look after you. Would defiantly recommend and very grateful how quickly they were able to see me
sarah green: Absolutely first class brilliant service and brilliant staff and Dr's a pleasure to do business with couldn't recommend anyone better highly recommend
Claire Marriott: Absolutely fantastic service. Having been let down by other companies Dr Joanna & her wonderful team managed to squeeze me in for a fit to fly covid test. Can't thank you all enough for helping me get home for Christmas.
Orestis Sechas: Great experience and helpful staff. I strongly recommend it!
Austin Nanor: I had a great experience with Stonegate during the last week of September, 2020. I had to travel and I needed to have a covid test. I was almost losing hope, but by God's grace, Stonegate was able to help me and I made the journey successfully, on 3rd October.

Clifton Park Hospital Ltd: what do users think?
Tess Viney: I went in for an operation on 10th March and all the nurses, doctors and anaesthetists were amazing from me arriving to leaving. All the staff are a credit to the hospital. They were amazing with the care and put me so at ease. They were all so polite and lovely to me. Thank you all so much again and you really are fantastic in what you do!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!
Peter Mollan: Fantastic staff at the Theatre the Recovery Room and the ward.Excellent it was a pleasure to be in.
Mat Cook: I was telephoned at the begining of June and given an appointment for a pre opp on Friday 24th June at 13:30 I phoned earlier in the morning to ask if I had the time correct and which building I would be at as there are two buildings to the hospital the lady on the phone said it would be at equinox house but said she could not check the time as she was in the middle of something I arrived for my appointment at 13:20 went to the reception to tell them I had arrived giving my name and date of birth they said that they could not find me on the system or any paperwork and was told I would not be seen it was their fault and I am the one who suffers it's not acceptable to treat patients like this I hope this does not reflect things to comeTHE NEXT STEP so finally had pre opp and that went fine i then had to attend on the 14 July to pick up a prescription they gave me the prescription I drove 2 miles across town to the pharmacy on my way home only to find that it was not validated as they had not stamped it I had to drive all the way back again to get it stamped when I told them their mistake there were no apologies just there it's stamped now this is not the professionalism I expect from such an establishment
Nev Chambers Photography: Amazing staff. Super clean.
t Steve Goddard: I was a patient recently at clifton Park were I had my second knee replacement performed expertly by Mr hunt and his team ( he has done them both ) the surgery went very well my after care was excellent and all the staff were very caring and friendly .I cannot recommend them highly enough especially the physio staff who got me mobile very quickly and the nurses .Claire. Spaniards chloe .not forgetting William .thank you all .Steve
Not in USE: questo ospedale è un buon ospedale con buone cure, tuttavia non è un ospedale a 5 stelle e potrebbero essere apportati piccoli miglioramenti
Mac McLoughlin: I had a total knee replacement in November 2020. The care that I received was second to none, from the reception staff, the operator, cleaning staff, ward staff, physiotherapists, x-ray, laboratory staff, theatre and medical team and the nursing staff. If I have missed anyone out,my apologies. Everything was clean and sanitised. All the staff were friendly, helpful and thoroughly professional. Everything was explained to me and there was always help when I needed it.Here I am about 4 months postop and everything is going really well. I am still trying to get more flexion so that i can ride both my push bike and motorcycle. Nearly there. I am walking much better than I have been able to for over 15 years.Thank you to all the staff who made this all possible. I give thanks for you and pray that you will all stay safe and well.RegardsMac McLoughlin
Trevor Elliott: Left Clifton Park Hospital Wednesday 16th Dec 2020 after having a total knee replacement operation there on the Monday afternoon (two & half days stay). Fantastic staff, great team spirit, who gave me first class medical care. It doesn't matter if you are referred through the NHS or you go private. The hospital staff don't discriminate. The anaesthetic team (Chris, Rachel & two gents) were very reassuring and efficient whilst I was being prepared for surgery. My surgeon, Mr Gibbon, and his assistant have done a great job and my knee is now straight after being crooked and arthritic for a long time (delayed by the Covid crisis). The nurses (Joanne, Smitha, Hilary, Lucti, Bethany, Juliette - sorry if missed any names), the two Radiographers (Graham & Chris) and support staff (Theresa & the catering ladies) were great too. They certainly knew their jobs: but made the time to introduce themselves and chat if I wanted to. Nothing was too much bother - thank you all so much. Also thanks to my physios (Alex and Dobrinka) who encouraged me to "work" the knee for the best result. Alex had plenty of ideas to make my recuperation so much more effective. Dobrinka did the after care assessments which were very helpful and motivational.I don't normally do reviews. But I went from someone who was very worried about my forth- coming op to being totally reassured. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
paul watson: I have just arrived home after having a total knee replacement operation. And I cannot praise all the staff at ramsay enough. From arrival until I left all the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. And nothing to much trouble. A huge thank you to everybody from Mr gibbons and his team. To all the ward staff you were brilliant. I highly recommend the ramsay hospital.
Helen Powell: Big thank you to all staff for your care in my stay with my rotate cuff repair I am on the mend now highly recommended for any one staying cleaness xxxxx care and support from staff xxxxx .
June Plange: Hospital.. Private.
James Oconnor: Had operation on foot. Everyone was fantastic.no complaints whatsoever
Gillian Clegg: Efficient friendly and not too big
Penny Powell: Clean, friendly staff, clinics run on time.Excellent 5 stars!
Alice Bint: It's brilliant
Eileen Fenwick: Nice and clean the staff friendly and looked after me really well

York Hospital: what do users think?
Mohammed Alhusayni: The receptionist was very helpful, friendly, patient and careful. I waited in the hospital to see the doctor for an urgent about 4 hours. And the average of waiting is 2.5 hours, and i cannot book an appointment for my situation. Which make it very bad experience, and it seems that the management of the hospital is absolutely ridiculous. The doctor was nice, but he was trying to finish as early as possible. He made some mistakes in a letter about my situation, but overall, he was alright. I will never come again to the hospital, except if i don’t have a choice. And i prefer to book an appointment with unity health, since they have much better service.
Mark Schofield: God help anybody having to go here. Place is filthy. Lots of staff stood about doing nothing. I saw some terrible things while i was in . Even a member of staff told me to report the things that were going on. I had to get out or im not sure what would have happened.
David Storey: Great treatment in a&e
Richard Crossman: Ok
Karen Harper: In for a minor operation. Not long to wait before my operation. Caring staff, very helpful considering the pressure they are under. Plenty of parking and an overflow car park.
Belinda “Belly” Murphy: Fantastic team at York stroke clinic really looked after my mum earlier this month. After 4 visits to Harrogate A&E the team at York were exceptional, efficient and very kind. All of them worth their weight in gold and should be remunerated accordingly. These guys do an amazing job in very difficult circumstances. A massive thanks to all of them.
Ru Walker: Huge thanks to the opthalmology team on this morning
Will: Underfunded by the Conservatives.
Hiruni Senaratne: Good experience in ED
Glen Eden: Consultant told me l needed my right ear cleaning out by microsuction ever 3 months, l have been now waiting 5 months since my last appointment, l had one booked for the 15th March, but received a phone message that it has now been cancelled ?, So much for it needs doing every 3 months,it's only a 15 min procedure, you get a text reminder not to miss appointments as it costs the NHS hundreds, l have had over 50% of my appointments cancelled by them, its a disgrace, they are not fit for purpose, the upper management on their £160,000 salaries need to earn their salaries by sorting out this mess they have a duty of care, which unfortunately they are failing in this, if they can't do it get the right people who can, l will be forwarding my experience on to my MP and ask him to forward it on to the Health Minister, as this is a totally unacceptable, a 15 min procedure and you have to wait over 6 months. SHAMBLES.
LEIGH PANTER: Disabled parking is always full during my mother's appointments and so we have to use the multistory car park which is not ideal for people in wheelchairs.
Noah Smee: I had a great experience, my issue was efficiently investigated, and I spent barely any time waiting. The staff were professional and kind, and the visit was shorter than anticipated.
Debbie Vollans: The staff are absolutely brilliant, we were there all night which is not ideal but they do their best
Janis Smith: From entering a and e to my husband being transferred to ward 21 and eventually an operation and transferring to CCU every member of staff gave their very best. The treatment he received was second to none. They deserve every penny and more. We'll be forever grateful to them all.
lulu howe: All of the staff in SDEC (EAU) are incredible. We had to come on the 1st of feb in the afternoon/evening time and I have never met staff so compassionate and kind. They deserve so much more praise.
revliS zalliroG: Today I went for a blood test. I sat in the wrong are and didn't hear my number being called out. Later I realised, the staff at blood section were extremely understanding and helpful. Very polite and comforting experience from the gentlemen that took my blood and his colleagues in the ward.
chronic bionic: Very helpful staff here despite working under duress, some amenities here for drinking etc but I'd recommend you bring a flask and own sandwiches
Alexandra Cuthbert: The nurses at staff at this hospital were great. The minor injuries staff in particular were helpful, professional and very personable. Overall they made a great experience out of an unfortunate trip to the hospital.
katie Needham: I not sure this hospital is so kind as I good a very good (sis) friend in and two of the shaff are been nasty to her and makeing her cry and I don't like it at all and I will be on the phone to the manager at 9 and this problem needs to be sorted if not then I will not be happy and I wouldn't be surprised if other people go to the hull hospital cose they treat the people with respect
Matty C: I don't have much experience with York Hospitals, and I do hear from other people that York Trust is a poor trust, but I can honestly say that I've never been as impressed with a team as I was today whilst waiting for my Neurology outpatient appointment.I saw a team that was under immense workload pressure. However, the professionalism, kindness and compassion shown towards visiting patients to this busy department was exemplary. The consultant even apologised for my wait, even though I've waited longer in a checkout line at the local supermarket. In my opinion, I was grateful to be seeing a healthcare professional at the peak of their career and to have interacted with a multitude of healthcare professionals working in such a hostile, demanding and emotionally exhausting environment. Volunteers taking time to help patients find places, healthcare professionals stopping what they're doing to help a struggling patient complete a form and reassurance to patients nervous of confused during their visit are all things I witness during my 30mins of arriving and leaving my neurology outpatient appointment.Honestly, my words are not enough to express my admiration to this department for what I experienced. I don't know if this is a standard achieved by all teams within York Trust Hospitals, but I know - if you're visiting Neurology - you won't find a better team.
Stuart Dixon: Very Very good quality of up most considerable and helpful staff and all the H.D.U FOR SAVING MY life
