York Cardiology: what do users think?
David Titterington-Cook: This is not York Cardiology it’s my house. Cardiology is at 8 Greenfileds Building at the Nuffield Hospital on Haxby Road
Maxi “Toshi” tosh: I consulted with Dr Gupta recently over the internet; I found his practice to be unprofessional and lazy. It took him months to complete a simple referral and when it was finely made he omitted important information which consequently hindered interpretation of the results. He also charged money to read and interpret a report, which it transpired he didn’t actually read. Scandalous really. In my opinion, if you are just looking for advice then by all means watch his YouTube videos to get a good overview of medical problems, but if you actually have a medical problem that needs addressing (and you don’t live in York where he works) you are advised to avoid York Cardiology; save your money and don’t give it to people over the internet just because your desperate as they are keen to exploit the medical unwell. He’s very keen on diagnosing people with Covid vaccine complications…so I guess Dr Gupta has developed something of a niche practice. AVOID
Amy Ironside Wood: Dr Gupta is one of the most compassionate, passionate and truly helpful doctors I have ever seen. His dedication to helping his patients is rare and wonderful. It really feels like he is working with you rather than against you (which certainly isn’t always the case with an illness like POTS). I couldn’t recommend him more highly. He’s an asset to our patient community.
Roberta Walker: The importantance of magnesium depletion in the body. Also the use of choosing Mg in food choices.👏🏽👏🏽
Jeremy: Dr Gupta is incredible. His YouTube videos have been a great help to me, and I even had correspondence with him over email… I live in Canada far from him and he took the time to respond to me. Find another doc who will do that.
JONATHAN PRIDIE: I follow and learn a lot online with Dr Sanjay Gupta his advice makes a lot of sense. Watch all of his videos.
Matt Green: Dr Gupta was helpful, approachable and gave me the reassurance I needed during what was a difficult period in my life. Highly recommend.
Kelly Richmond: Dr Gupta is an excellent Dr and person who is very caring and dedicated to his patients. My daughter has been suffering a rare condition and Dr Gupta is continually supportive. I cannot thank him and his fantastic team enough.
N Rose: I have had a couple of consultations with Dr Gupta and a diagnostic investigation. With each consultation he has been fantastic, easy to talk to, empathised with my concerns and explained everything clearly. A brilliant doctor who really does care.Carrie, who has helped me arrange appointments and investigations, is such an asset to York Cardiology, she is always quick to respond, reliable and incredibly efficient. She is also a lovely person to speak to. In all, York Cardiology have been amazing and I am so glad I got in touch with Dr Gupta for help. Thank you!
paddy mulholland: Dr. Gupta's explanation of cardiac function is brilliant. Above all it helps one interpret the cardiogram result and discuss it intelligently with gp. Thank you so very much.
Louis Lattuca: Just had a call with Dr Gupta, who is an extremely nice chap. He gave me great reassuring feedback, listened well, and took into account my lifestyle goals as an athlete with an appropriate treatment route going forwards. Highly recommend him
S H: Watch a lot of his you tube content, lovely doctor
lorna Graves: Excellent service and knowledge, very helpful
Reynaldo Guino-o: I have learned something about my heart disease. Advice was very helpful. I would like to have a chat with him. Is this possible?
John Woods: Dr. Gupta, is highly knowledgable and so VERY informative. A truly caring individual. Blown away by his kindness and care. Felt so much better after speaking with him. I cannot speak highly enough of his consultation.
Cat Fall: Doctor Gupta explained what my condition was after 12 years of not knowing and when he explained it to me it made perfect sense, over 100 doctors did not know what was wrong with me but he did. I am now on the road to recovery with his treatment plan. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you
Betty Farmer: Have had problems with afib for about 5 years.... Always healthy.... Never had to take medication..... I was so lucky...... I kept telling the doctors that my afib was not like regular afib.... I told them it was when I ate or lay down..... They would look at me like I was crazy.... And the medication they gave me was not helping.... Then I saw Where you were talking about vagal afib.... You said exactly what I needed to hear.... I knew the cardiologist Were giving me the wrong type of medicine... we need more cardiologist like you.... I am in between doctors and don't know where to turn.. I sure wish I had a doctor like you..... Thank you so much for Your concern and all your wonderful advice that you give us at no cost!!! Will continue watching and taking your good advice...... Thanks again for all you do!!!
Kirsten Cameron: Dr. Gupta consulted with me via telephone as I am in the U.S. I am so glad I arranged to speak with him. My PVC's were affecting my quality of life, but they were not serious enough to warrant surgery. Dr. Gupta gave me sound advice on lifestyle changes I could make to avoid these, the probable causes of them, and some wonderful reassurance regarding my prognosis. He has the unique ability to translate 'doctorese' in to something I can understand, and listened well in order to understand the issues from MY point of view. I highly recommend Dr. Gupta and a telephone or Skype consultation.
Jackie Hutchinsn: My fears were relieved and explained for the first time in over 30 years. I feel like a boulder has roled off me. I am so grateful. He gave so much time to explain fully, and offered to speak again anytime. The support and advice was priceless. Thank-you Doctor!!
Hazel Mackrill: My husband, who will be fitted with a Pacemaker in early January had a 30 minute telephone appointment with Dr. Gupta. This consultation completely put our minds at rest over a number of concerns raised about the forthcoming procedure. We would like to thank Doctor Gupta for his highly professional and empathetic approach. We can now enjoy Christmas and look forward to my husband having the procedure in January.
Syed Rizvi: He is not only a wonderful doctor but also a good human being. He was very professional and kind. His knowledge about heart is awesome. Everyone is different in his/her condition and Dr. Gupta knows it very well.

York Medical Group at Acomb: what do users think?
James McElroy: An absolute shambles of health care. Didn't create a medical template for my Insulin until 16 days after York hospital Endocrinology emailed the change to them. This left me without Insulin over the Easter Bank Holiday and a call to 111 and an emergency doctor to prescribe. Then, when they finally got round to creating the template, they issued the wrong Insulin to the chemist so I nearly ran out again... I will be going to the Ombudsman.
MrKgray1: Absolute joke and disgrace of a so called service that is being provided here. Unable to make an appointment, unable to see a doctor, unable to speak to anybody. What's the point????What makes them think that they are providing proper care for people? Why are GPs the only people in the world who have not returned to normal after Covid??? What gives them the right when mine and every other national insurance paying person in the countryis being failed in an inexplicable and unjustifiable way. In my opinion it's a practice of malpractice. Only wish I knew how to start proceedings for a claim of malpractice. Stay away from this medical group at all costs but don't suspect that there are many better. It's a crying shame
Duncan Tweedy: They just don't answer the phonefirst in the queue and 20 minutes later still on holdDisgraceful service
Patrick M: Don't register with this surgery. The directors are clearly just trying to rinse as much money from the NHS as possible by cutting overheads. This has led to it being nearly impossible to get an appointment when you need one. My only option (without waiting on the phone for an hour), was to request an appointment through a poorly streamlined online system, and the request was rejected with no reason given and no communication from the surgery.
Raymond Gladding: A terrible booking system, staff are priority over patients at this surgery. York medical group your just enforcing peoples feelings on why privatisation of the nhs doesn't work. This system is appalling, takes the load of doctors by ignoring requests for appointments.
George Dawe: I am absolutely terrified of doctors and I rang up today after avoiding the doctors for a long time and when I say the receptionist was understanding and empathetic that isn't even close. This women made me feel heard and took the time to make me feel comfortable about making an appointment I cannot give this receptionist enough credit because this is something I have been avoiding for so long and for someone to have the patience with me to make me feel safe and listen to me so I could take the steps to make an appointment I could not appreciate that more. Thank you so much
Paul Hara: Just a big thank you to Heather. I have been in twice over last couple of months & both times had the pleasure of been seen by Heather, she is very friendly, helpful & sorted everything I needed sorting.
keith fox: I have no doubt whatsoever that the intention of the directors of York Medical Group wish to privatise this NHS outlet.
graham John Bettis: I had excellent service 👌 thanks to the NHS...
Stacey Richardson: One hr on the wait ment to be no 2 think they ment 22Then to be cut off 2 sBeen waiting since Oct to get my goddaughter seen this is terrible something needs to chang hear my blood is boiling
Clare: There is a reason why the answerphone message says we don't tolerate rudeness and to be patient! They know if your not mad or upset at time of contacting them you will be at the end of the call .. urgently needs to be closed down ! If you can get to talk to anyone about your illness its more than likey that you'veProbably given up or self healed . All need lessons in customer serivces. We pay your wages if you please !Rubbish service
Abigail Coates: Firstly I don't try to make appointments over the phone, given the state of the NHS its really not the best way. I use the online form, and then get allocated an appointment if required. I've physically seen the doctor a couple of times and the experience has been great. I was referred to a service and the doctor expedited it and having now been diagnosed my life is improving. No intentions to change surgery, extremely happy with service provided. Dr Scarsbrook is very good
Mark Napier: Pathetic. They need Schofield and Willoughby to sort out the queue to get an answer. Let alone an appointment!
Liv Buchanan: I can't fault my experience at YMG, especially at Acomb. I've seen multiple doctors face to face for different issues, and each one has been kind, professional, and gone the extra mile to investigate things for me. While I understand that online is not best for everyone, for me, the Klinik system works brilliantly, and is so convenient.
Tony Geesing: Absolutely rubbish. I tried to get help for a 95 year old lady with shingles, I couldn’t believe how uncaring the doctor was, wouldn't do a home visit even though she wouldn't have been able to get to the surgery when they offered her a appointment ( 2 days later).I felt sorry for the reception team who were really trying to help.
Sarafi Saf: Rude and not helpful receptionist stupid service
Elizabeth Bennett: I filled in my symptoms on line and pressed send. Minutes later, a very helpful GP rang me and I picked up the required medication 20 minutes later. I could not be more impressed with the service. Thankyou.
L SA: Absolutely appalling Gp surgery. Receptionist tries diagnosing u while on the phone. Need shutting down ridiculous waiting times and they cannot blame covid. Its happened for years now. If u actually get through well done. Minus stars really but your not allowed. These reviews say it all really.
Chris Jones: Upon receiving results of a blood test, and told there was a reading that was high, and told to make an appoint through klinick website, then be told it could take 10 to 14 daysSimon reality your left stewing not knowing and can't go see a doctor as soon as possible to talk about results and what action to take
Pete Evans: I've been with this surgery for some years the reason I stay is because I'm disabled and can't get to another surgery. I have recently been experiencing pain for 5 months. I have seen several doctors one of which suggested I was imagining it. I have recently tried to get some urgent appointment and basically I was told not but a doctor will ring me in four weeks. I thought maybe I had filled the form in wrong but my screen shots show that I had asked for an urgent appointment. I don't expect to be in pain for 5 months only to be told I can't see a Dr. Everyone else has gone back to work now so why can't we see a doctor when we are in pain. This surgery has been rubbish for a few years now. They never answer the phone and if you do get through you can be in 20th place which if they're not answering the phones I find it hard to believe there are 20 people waiting. They really are milking the covid thing. Avoid it and get a better surgery!!!!
Nicole Layton: After several weeks and several online forms regarding a number of vaccinations I was told they don't offer basic vaccinations for high school children any longer. Turns out school don't either so I don't know quite what we are supposed to do.Was informed they had a different set of vaccines on order for me and my children to travel. After chasing it up after another few weeks turns out they don't offer those vaccines either. Don't think anyone here knows quite what they do offer.

York Medical Group at Monkgate: what do users think?
Gaz Meehan: Wait over an hour for phone to be answered EVERYTIME, Hopeless customer service.
Peter Fairclough: Poor.
Elizabeth Collins: Dr Tunstall was so so good with my little baby who was suffering with an eczema-type rash. The prescribed creams have worked a treat (as you'd expect) but it was the quality of care we received that I was so impressed with.Dr Tunstall immediately offered to carry our car seat & changing bag on fetching us from the waiting room, and when my baby was quite upset after being examined (sore, itchy skin) he fetched the toy attached to our car seat and played with it to entertain him and calm him down. An excellent GP and a real asset to the practice! Thank you very much.
Nikolett K.: I had the same problem again and again, I asked them several time to send me to a specialist, just to get the answer it's not needed. Finally one of them felt bad for me and gave me a referral for a rutin appointment, which should be due like the end of next year. Well I went for a private practice to find out I need operation as I have a large cist. Good job here.
J B: If you need to see a Doctor, wait until this place is closed for the day then ring 111 and get an appt at the GP out of hours at the hospital. YMG don't do adequate checks when you are ill, they will play down your symptoms to get you out of the door. Not worth wasting your time with.
Brown Fox: Dreadful. Good luck in managing to speak to (never mind see) a GP at this place.
Emma Sheppard: Rude reception staff. Waited nearly 3 weeks for someone to call me after filling out the klinik form online to then be told I need to fill out another form because they allegedly tried to call me twice. I don't know what number they tried, but it definitely wasn't mine!
Marcus Steele: after writing my last review I have left this surgery in place of real medical treatment.
adrian heginbotham: Text received by my wife saying they would call. Waited all day and nothing, waste of time.
Emma Willis: If they decide you can have an appointment then you might get one 5 weeks later. But only if they decide you need one. Nothing about this practice makes you feel confident you’re in safe hands. What you do feel is that they wish you would stop bothering them.
Amy Bainbridge: Terrible practice. I'm genuinely concerned that something bad and totally avoidable is going to happen to someone. I made an emergency appointment and they had the audacity to downgrade it to routine without even speaking to me. They have arranged a phone appointment for me for things that can only be done in person. Just ineptitude at its finest
Leon Costelloe: Waiting four weeks for an appointment is too long. The online service isn't great and the phone queues are over an hour long. I understand there's shortages across the country but 4 weeks is still too long.
Annija Kaulina: One year later and still not a response! That's what we get. In the June will be a 1 year since we have handed in some insurance paperwork to be filled by GP after several calls, email and begging to get back to us. Still nothing!!!! Only response over phone we get every time I call is that we don't know anything only can see that is on person desk to be done. Shame our family can't get the help they need financially because of that! I understand that it busy and everyone needs help but simply not good enough!!!!
Moya McGowan: absolute joke of a gp. They will never answer you're requests, if they do, you will end up not hearing back. I have had 2 urgent appointments now for a 24 hour or less response and both times, not only was it not in 24 hours, I didn't get a call full stop. Don't waste your time.
Sanna A: As a junior doctor currently working in another GP practice, I must say I have been thoroughly disappointed by the accessibility of this GP Practice. I have submitted klinik forms several times and have either received links which did not last more than 24 hours or did not hear back or had my case closed as I submitted a form on Friday evening. When calling reception- and waiting half an hour each time- I was told they cant do anything and I have to just try again. It makes me worry for the more vulnerable members of society who will really struggle to use the Klinik service and get in touch with a GP when they might need it most. GPs are struggling themselves and this organisational barrier to healthcare is truly appalling. YMG must address and fix this. I would not recommend this practice.
Lisa Baldwin: ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL AND DANGEROUS PRACTISE . My partner and myself have on different occasions been left without medication for days after ordering through the phone line , then been told by very rude staff that answer phones are not doctors that it’s your fault !!! Without getting any notification that you need at review your meant to be a mind reader even though you can’t get to see or talk to a doctor !! Well he was left 4 days and had to contact the hospital who were so lovely and got his medication. This practise needs a major over haul and retraining if I spoke to my customers how there staff to to people I wouldn’t of had my bussiness 35 years ! . This is now being placed in the hands of the GMC a full report and the hospitals comments to them . All I can say in a difficult time the doctors are suppose to be a safe place .... STOP BLAMING THE PATIENTS AND COVID WE ARE ALL UNDER PRESSURE YOU ARE JUST RUDE AND INCOMPETENT.
Melanie Ransome: Under so much pressure from reception, admin and all medical staff. Very impressed with the treat both me and.my mum have received. Thank you so much.
Danuta Jania: my baby is seriously ill again! for 6 weeks there is no medical help for her, 6 weeks only Covid covid from your side. when the emergency visit is booking you call back after 4 days! next time you send me with her for a covid test and when I try to contact you again send me to other places in york for a visit and again no help! even though I am pregnant and I do not have a car, do you consider it good medical care? it affects her mental health
James Rushby: For all the GP bashing out there at the moment, do remember that services are under pressure and everyone in the NHS, GP's included are working bloomin' hard. Yes getting through to the practice is tough, but so is managing demand. We are still in the middle of a pandemic people! All of the staff here have been nothing but professional and kind to me. When I needed to be seen face to face, I was (and had the GP appointment and ECG the same day), when I simply needed something that could be dealt with over the phone, then that's what was done. Many thanks to the practice, truly appreciated.
V G: A very good practice. I have been a patient for many years now and have received excellent care from friendly staff from Reception to the Doctor's. The new telephone system is my only complaint - it is truly awful. I held on for 37 minutes the other day!
paul clark: Unfortunately no stars is not an option.since being taken over by YMG it seems to be run by disorganised automatons. I'm trying to arrange a virus injection at home and I've never been subjectedto such inane phone calls and messages. I'm hoping someone Frome the practice contacts me but if they do no doubt they won't know what I'm talking about so I'll have to back to the beginning yet again which is par for the course.

sunflowers19: this surgery needs to train its receptionists better with how to treat people with mental health problems . my poorly mum has schizophrenia and is very ill. we came to gp as a last resort because she was having a psychotic episode , the receptionist refused to help saying no doctor was in and it is not her job to help i said she had a duty of care she said dont try that with me so i have taken a photo of her and will be filing a complaint . this is disgusting treatment of an eldery woman having a pyshitic episode who is a long term sufferer of schizophrenia . please train your staff or sack them this woman should not be a receptionist at a gp surgery

Mary Wellings: I have been at this practice for 8 years - trying to access any professional is terrible and this was before Covid. thank god im not a regular - ( maybe the regulars are the issue) no advance bookings - "the rotas arent done" and i get triaged by clerical staff who take and ask important information with no assessment and diagnosis qualification to know how to ask more appropriate searching questions. Im looking to change but if any of the other practice reviews are right then theres no hope for the living in York.

jamie brownhill: If I could give zero i would, i joined uni in September and have had nothing but trouble with the practice. Waiting 4 weeks for appointments, not giving me a meds review when requested. Also waiting 2 months for a simple documents for a job which meant I couldn't work for 2 months. When you actually see a Doctor they are good but I've only managed that once since September. If you are coming to uni in September register with another GP. Also they shut during uni holidays which is ridiculous as many students still stay in York, meaning that I couldn't get my meds dispensed and had to go through 111. Cant get ill during a holiday absolutely ridiculous.
L M: Don't bother. It's almost like a comedy show only worse. The receptionists PhD's in being rude and unhelpful. Go to a normal doctors and save yourself heartache.
Ofe Ivharue: Terrible service. I walked in there with a bleeding finger and I was basically ignored by 2 women so wrapped up in their conversation. I had to go get first aid elsewhere.
Bailey Fraser: I can’t say I have much experience with this doctors, due to not being able to get many appointments but I can say that the staff and the doctors are doing their best. They have a lot of clients and a lot of different problems coming through their door, at the end of the day they’re not just health care workers they are people.
Ryan: My god this must be the worst Doctors I’ve ever ever experienced, you’re always caller 1 in the que for about 20 minutes because they’re sat on their arses eating biccies instead of doing work, all the staff who work there look dosile, be prepared to get an appointment 2 months later because they never have any available! If you miss an appointment that’s basically game over they’ll never give you one again trust me, highly recommend you go anywhere else, absolutely anywhere else.
Jąʍҽʂ: Probably the worst doctor's surgery I've ever had to deal with in my life. They close at 12:45 every day which is utterly bone-idle and ludicrous. They never get back to you in terms of appointments and it's just a nightmare trying to get anything done. For any new students DO NOT REGISTER, go with an independent GP practice in York.
Nicole Elizabeth: Waited 10 days for a call for an appointment and because I missed one call I have to now re book and wait another 10 days. I only need a quick 5 minute drop in.
Alix Pennington: No waiting around and good advice
Jeff Wright: Its a good set of doctors, however, the waiting times are extremely bad, it's constantly booked out (I had a 3 week wait for an emergency appointment or six working days to see a visiting nurse), and if the receptionists try to give you advice don't take it, I was told a swelling would be fine within two weeks and so I wouldn't need to see a doctor and here I am in excruciating pain six weeks later because the swelling got bigger and is damaging my nerves
Hannah Scott: It's a good surgery and the doctors are lovely however the wait for appointments is appalling
Tammara Lambley: Its okay but opening hours arent great

York Medical Group Water Lane: what do users think?
Andrew Smyth: Great, professional staff.
Jo Leslie: To be honest, you're better off googling your symptoms because you'll get a more accurate diagnosis. Repeated errors over the years I've had the misfortune to be a patient at this practice. Latest is ignoring my request for a medication review appointment and instead issuing a prescription for items I didn't need. As a result I'm going to run out of the medication I need before I can get any more.
Mariana Medelete: Always kind and the best conditions for me and my family. Thank you for your professionalism,Staff from reception very friendly. Thank you Dr.Evans 🙏
keith fox: I have to say I am lost for words regarding this business because that's what it is.There are two main problems that are causing delays and they are as follows. When patients hear words like klinik or nimbus which seem to be the be all and end all of York Medical Group they don't associate them with the NHS.452 patients did not attend there appointments last month which face on looks pretty appalling. And maybe it is,People love there NHS and bless them for it.People work hard and pay there contribution. So when we have to wait two weeks for an appointment they get fed up, despondent and think to themselves, it doesn't matter, lf I cancel my appointment it doesn't effect the NHS it just stops Klinik or Nimbus taking my NHS contributions.Be this wrong or right the fact is it's a natural eventuality. The second problem is that doctors are focusing on there pockets more than there patients they are educated by the NHS and end up spending around 30 to 50% percent of there time in there own private clinics, which is a moral contradiction to there taking the Hypocratic Oath.Like it or lump it reality can't be ignoredWhat we need is an independent action group to sort this place out.Patients participation groups are not effected because they are monitored by there the internal organs of itself.ANYONE INTERESTED!!!!!! !!!!!!!! !!
Chantelle Burrows: Nipped in to see if I could have a gp ring me at some point today ,when the receptionist eventually stopped stuffing her face with chocolates she asked how she could help...fill in an online form if it's urgent care...I just wanted to speak to a doctor, I don't want to go on line..it would've been a 5 minute conversation..water lane your just not fit for purpose you may as well close down.
Kevin Walsh: Used the online system and as the condition was ptentially serious, I saw an excellent GP within 24hours.
Colin Lewis: Was seen on time doctor very friendly great staff well done.
Dan Guy: The management of this company is appalling with no regard, for patient safety or effort to provide any service.I really hope an individual can be held accountable for the people that have died and or health outcomes that have been severely limited because of this joke service
Susan Richardson: I saw Dr Singh on Monday the 10th of January. I wanted to email the practice manager but sadly its incredibly hard to get a email. You may get compliments im someone who has used York medical group quite a lot in 2021 my son had a terminal brain tumour. He had moved in with us we nursed him to the end at our home .I saw lots of medical staff and spoke to lots of reception staff.I can't praise these people at waterlane and Tower Court. But mostly I want to thank the amazing beautiful doctor Singh. He is such a kind patient and so helpful to me .I believe we should thank those who are there day or night . Working. He never rushed he spoke so kindly and what a wonderful man .so im hoping that the practice manager reads this . As I want to say Thankyou for all the kindness and support we have had from 2020 .incredible. x Sue
Nick T: I literally never leave reviews but I just had a 5 star service on Christmas Eve by Dr Dylan Summers. Just wanted to say thanks for seeing me on short notice in the middle of the pandemic.Booking appointments is so hard with York medical group but the service and professionalism made up for it.
Jarryd Addinall: Impossible to see or speak to a gp. Shocking new system and service!
Jenni Malham: If l could give it no stars l would.
Michelle: I have to say I’m very disappointed with the new system. What happened to where you could telephone without getting a long recorded message. Also you cant get an appointment with your own doctor who you have had for many years. This new way of working (merging GP’s) is very poor and not helpful For patients who are already stressed. This is not due to covid as this was in place long before the pandemic. Bring back our own surgery and doctors please.
Ebor York: The receptionist, Jade just couldnt care less about anything. She didn't even want to listen to what it is I needed. Wants to get rid of you as fast as possible. The attitude is "nothing to do with us, we dont deal with this". Nobody cares and nobody wants to take responsibility. Nobody answers emails. So you ring, when you finally get someone, at first I was told to write another mail to somewhere else, which was also ignored. They have two responses on the phone, first is they say they will chase up your request, only for nothing to happen until the next time you ring, or youre told politely (or not so politely) that people are on holiday, or have other commitments. This is for an urgent document. Another answered the call, told me she was answering from home so couldnt do anything, just what is the point of answering calls if you cannot do anything? "I cannot do anything, Im literally sat in my living room". These problems predate the Covid pandemic, so that isnt an excuse. Bad system, bad attitude only made worse.
Mark Slater: Absoultly rubbish chirs squires ad an infection and u lied 2 I'm dummies
zanna spink: The new telephone system is RUBBISH - impossible to get through, all I hear "all our lines are busy, please CALL LATER" , and when call later its the same message. So looks like now need to go to see the receptionist face to face.
Belinda Troup: It is so difficult to get an appointment!
Shell Casper: First rate service from Dr Fraser and her team, they don't get enough credit for all the hard work they put in
barry small: always very helpful and friendly the staff
M̆̈eᴍᴏʀɪᴇs: Used this surgery for the first time. Usually go to Acomb surgery, but never happy there. I saw Mrs Angie booth a nurse. She actually listened to my concerns. I didn't feel rushed or a waste of time. I feel I got more from that 1 appointment with her than I have ever had with many Dr's over the years. Will be using water Lane surgery in future.
Maffel: Always had good service from the staff and doctors despite chronic NHS underfunding from government. Many of the poor reviews seem to be replicated across the country and are not problems solely with this practice.

Unity Health - Kimberlow Hill Surgery: what do users think?
Mohammed Alhusayni: The staff in the reception are very nice and helpful, and you can call them directly from their number in google maps. The doctor as well is helpful, patient and accurate in his notes. You have to book an appointment to do anything here, usually it is the same day or the day after. I recommend calling them before coming. The unity health i think is even better than York Hospital, and I recommend to go to unity health if possible before the hospital.
Drew Tomlinson: Receptionists are all lovely! At my previous GP surgery, the receptionists could be a little cold (although let’s face it, patients aren’t always very polite either!) But the receptionists here are something else - they’re always so helpful & kind regardless of previous interactions. They really are a credit to this surgery and have significantly reduced my anxiety around calling to book appointments etc.My GP (Dr Dunn) is also kind & very thorough. On a previous visit, I had made brief notes on a number of issues, but I really only went there to enquire about blood tests for gender services, and to resume/evaluate my prescription medications. I went through my notes with Dr Dunn and she listened to and addressed all of my issues concisely & accurately. You can tell that she really cares about delivering the best possible care to her patients.Best & most caring GP surgery I’ve ever visited.
Emma Swann: Terrible service and useless. I needed a form to be signed by a G.P for a work placement abroad. All which was required was a signature, no appointment or check necessary, to say I am of fit health to leave the country. They refused to provide this service, even recommending I use their blood pressure machine MYSELF to get my results. They then recommended a private doctor to an obvious student, which would cost me £200. I now have no idea how I am able to get this form completed without taking out a loan or using a credit card.
Cavan Gallagher: They do the bare minimum here. When you call, you’ll be waiting half an hour to book an appointment. If you’re late to your appointment you’ll get rebooked for a while in the future, and it will always be your issue to sort out a repeat prescription.
Katie: I've had nothing but problems, can't get an appointment for over a month, then my appointment gets cancelled and I can't get another appointment for another month. The medical problem I'm having continues to get worse. The last 3 prescriptions I've had have been issued wrong, I've had medications incorrectly taken off my record. It's dangerous for your health to be registered at this surgery, I'm worried what will happen if I get an acute medical problem before I'm able to switch GPs.
Charlie Squire: After having recently had a whole issue over my old GP not sending my previous records (making it impossible to get my (not urgent) prescription as blood records are needed for this), the staff have been incredibly co-operative to have tried to help resolve the issue, and been very empathetic to my situation.I got spoke to by a receptionist, a pharmacist and then a GP all in the space of an hour to resolve the issue (which in the end was just getting urgent blood tests done at the hospital so I can continue my prescription at the start of next week). Also, appointment times with nurses are usually available with in a few days. The GP I spoke to was efficient and organised with a solution in place and was also very pleasant to talk to - as were all of the staff.Very satisfied with this service!
Charlotte Heelas: Absolutely super helpful, kind and go above and beyond. Thank you Gillian for all your help. I recommend this surgery to everyone!!
Tom Perry: Worst GP surgery ever, cannot recommend going elsewhere strongly enough! Constant battle to get through to someone (30+ minutes at any time of day), when you do get through its usually to a curt, condescending receptionist who without fail just refuses to give you an appointment for anything. I cannot stress this enough, they won't book you in for two days time, they won't book you in for next week, THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU AN APPOINTMENT FULL STOP. I have managed to go into the surgery once, when I was contacted by them for an asthma review, and I was the only person waiting in the surgery? No idea what they are doing there, my guess is it's some sort of money laundering front somehow. Please please avoid as they will end up killing people here through neglection.
Mebs Surve: The administration side of the practice really let’s down the back end service. The latest changes to improve and consolidate patient data doesn’t work. I’ve lost my patience with this practice and will be finding somewhere else.
Charlotte “Charb93” B: Unpleasant staff
Pete Dring: I had previously shared a negative review here because of admin staff training related issues meaning there were lots of mix ups when booking appointments. My recent experience has been much better. Their experience has doubtless been much harder due to COVID but they've worked hard to turn things around. Well done and thank you.Update: the introduction of a new IT system could bring some much needed changes but the way it's been introduced and communicated is not at all helpful (no way of making appointments for the best part of a month, poor communication via text message, follow up information sent out without actually clarifying anything and sent out in a way that resembles malware phishing links that ask for personal information).
Mamad Eslami: First visit was a terrible experience. Never register with this GP. My partner was dying of pain and we were only 3 mins late that GP did not accept to see her despite the GP being at her office having no other appointments. We will change our GP, definitely.
Filipe Gonçalves: I've booked 4 appointments and they've all been rescheduled / cancelled by them without any previous notice.Once, a doctor forgot to submit my prescription and left me without any medication for a fortnight. I ended up going through withdrawal, and when I finally got the pills back, I had to restart the treatment from scratch. The same doctor thinks it's a good idea to treat infections as they come along instead of finding out the reasons behind them.During COVID times they ask you for pictures of your medical issues, and proceed to say they cannot do a diagnosis based on pictures. The grey haired lady in the reception announces the reason why you came to see a doctor for the whole clinic to know, and does so with a smile. My friend got told she couldn't see a doctor for a chest infection because they were, and I quote, "only dealing with emergencies such as chest pain at the moment".One of the receptionists told me that face-to-face appointments are no longer taking place. After a 6-month-long wait, I (finally) got an over-the-phone consultation in which the nurse / doctor told me they were discharging me because I am moving abroad in a few months. Please note that my medical condition only got worse during this period, and continues to do so. I have been forced to go to the hospital because of this.
Donna Bell: The medical care at this surgery is excellent, the doctors are very thorough and compassionate in particular with children. The reception staff are always polite and professional and go out of their way to accommodate requests.
Joe B: Been with Unity Health for 4 years now. It's fairly easy getting an appointment and the reception staff are very helpful. I have had to chase things up before and i've had a mixed experience with some of the clinicians but nothing particularly bad.
icandesire: This is a terrible GP practise. I am considering moving to another. Firstly I got prescribed a medicine, then a doctor didn’t even record that I’ve been given it on the system!!! I got used to the month supply of the medication and because it wasn’t written in the system it made it harder to gain a new prescription.I’m not happy at all don’t go here.
Valentine Hatron: Don't bother ringing for an appointment if you're ill, they'll only take you if "it's an emergency". You're better off going to A&E or seeing a private GP. Absolutely ridiculous.
Helen Jenkinson: If your son or daughter is starting at the University at York and has a chronic health condition for which they need access to timely and compassionate care I would look elsewhere. My daughter started this term and spent nearly all term trying to register and set up her repeat prescription for insulin. It took 8 weeks to get a prescription, and even then it was sent to a pharmacy in London which makes no sense when we're from the Midlands! For a practice whose patients are predominantly students managing their own health independently for the first time, the customer service and quality of care both clinical and pastoral is appalling.
Marie North: This doctors surgery needs to be shut down permanently neglecting patients leaving them in pain and telling them to use stuff when they are full asthmatic carnt use it it brings them out in a rash and affecting there breathing all need to lose there jobs only decent one there's Dr Dunn and Dr wilcocks
Lucy Evennett: Absolutely appalled with the way I was treated at this practice. Having being diagnosed with hypermobility and fibromyalgia and plagued with terrible ever progressing symptoms I was basically told there was nothing more they could do as they believed it was a mental health issue and there was nothing else to treat - they were no longer willing to help. I was not willing to take a lot of medications as they don't agree with me and I just wanted to get to the bottom of my issues. I became very distressed about the situation and started to lose all hope before finding my new practice who have been nothing short of absolutely wonderful, referring me for diagnosis of Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and thyroid problems and sending me to pain management and taking everything really seriously and I am feeling much more positive about finding ways to manage my conditions! Most of all I feel listened to and respected. So if anyone is losing hope, please don't, find a new doctor. Also, when I brought my daughter in with excess urination, tiredness and weight loss I was made to feel like I was a neurotic mother and time waster. Well, what do you know? Type 1 diabetes. I was actually told I was putting my daughter up to begging for water during the appointment. I don’t think I have ever been treated so appallingly in my life than I was at this practice.
__andrea aa__: If I could give this ZERO stars I would!!! They made my friend cry. Receptionist has ZERO customer service skills and my friend needed help yet was turned away!

Gale Farm Surgery (Haxby Group): what do users think?
Chris Beckett: Dreadful. My usual, supportive, doctors have both left. Have to wait at least 45 minutes on the phone, so forced to use an (adequate) online booking system. However, it then takes days to hear back, and only then by text. Been waiting since Christmas (4 months now) for a consultation regarding uncomfortable digestive symptoms, and had to self-diagnose and treat online, (rightly or wrongly.) Unless it’s life threatening, it seems you will only ever receive telephone contact. When I felt a lump in my throat, was asked to photograph it. Impossible! Never heard back when I stated this. My family and I do not feel adequately supported by this surgery at all, and it would seem that many other reviews agree. I hope they will listen to their patients, and start to improve things drastically.
Rae: Can't get in touch with the surgery, go into reception who tell you to go online and the online service is never open no matter what time of day I try!Always end up seeing a different doctor and having to start from the beginning of treatment over and over again... Having to re-explain myself due to lack of note taking. Multiple blood tests where they didn't test for what the doctor said. Always having to fight for my prescriptions which are repeat prescriptions but can't get them!
Otis: Tried booking an urgent appointment for help with a skin condition I’ve had for four years and I’m told a routine appointment would work better for the GP, and there’s an 8-week wait for that. COVID backlog, apparently.
Li God Life: The gp in general from going there in person has always been welcoming and respectful. However after COVID and the aftermath of it. The GP has gone downhill with appointments over the phone and apperantly I was told I would be waiting five working days for an appointment to be made available even though that's a problem due to working every nearly six five days a week barely time to drop everything and go and it's more bleak and difficult to get referred to a midwife by them now too ..Overall needs a slight improvement.
Shane Myles: Doctors are great but not too keen on a diabetic nurse not very helpful and some of the receptionists are terrible I need a bit more training
Rebecca Ali: When I have been treated by the clinical staff they have all been great and made me feel at ease, the problem is trying to get an appointment! 3 days in a row I've been on hold for over an hour and no one has picked up the phone; it is physically impossible to speak to anyone on the phone and using the online system isn't much better. I requested an appointment for my 6 year old 4 weeks ago and still haven't been seen, after going in today to see why I hadn't heard anything they told me it could be another 3 weeks before she gets an appointment. It's really scary being unable to speak to anyone; especially struggling with mental health and needing things to feel simple.
mike reeves: Cannot fault the place really on a whole, always been polite weather on phone or in person and that's why I've give 5 stars.....update from last review, after my wife visited the triage nurse yesterday with my son I'm disgusted with the way she/he were spoke to and I'm currently waiting (30mins up to now on phone) to get through to make a complaint, your staff member was rude beyond words and totally out of order...the 5 star would have stayed as the majority of staff are professional but after yesterday 1 member of staff has let the practice down
super boy gamer emerald mincart: The staff here are polite and helped me when I went to my asma check
Sean Beanie: Great staff and super Drs
Lizzie Beth: The service provided by Dr Butlin and the team at Gale Farm surgery has been excellent throughout the pandemic and you deserve to be proud of yourselves for all you have achieved.
sara lowther: So I'm have asthma I ordered my prescription on Monday said it would be ready in three days everything on there but my inhalers Heeeeellllllloooooo
Laura Errity: I have been there for year's and it has been getting worse over time at the surgery. I have HS a skin and auto immune disease it was not the surgery who diagnose the disease it was my partner by looking on the Internet and by that time I had suffered psyical pain and bad scaring, embarrassment, discrimination and mental scaring which they and they still won't me who suffers from bad depression to self certify to get any help therapy wise. I have learning difficulties/ADD (ADHD) and was try to update my bus pass last year so I needed a letter for the council got one from my doctor saying I was fit, which then ment I had to fight with council to get my new pass. Re rang the surgery asked what the hell was going on and they said they had lost all my records about what type of school i had attended any medical history the problem/ my therapy I had as a child and my past medication 😡, but I did get a new letter after a couple months of been house bound and begging for lifts to my then new job, And now I'm in a lot of pain and can't get a appointment! the only way I can do it is if I ring up really early almost brake my neck trying to get there early to have a appointment befor work may I add also put in for some new dressing wich I don't have! So basically not happy being with them, cant get a appointment hardly, doctors dont seem to care and I feel like just another number to them and they are lucky I have not sued them for gross medical neglect for losing my past medical history and making me suffer so long with out a proper diagnose of my disease and say its nothing but ACNE! and just giving me antibiotics so I can shut up and go away!!! 😡
Gillian Ring: Lovely, kind receptionist and lovely Doctor. I was very impressed today.
joe hawkins: Trying to see a dr as suggested by nurse at Diabetes review there but have waited a week for an appointment, still waiting but I notice they're advertising for more patients,Very poor.
Anne Marie Durkin: The receptionists and doctors could not be lovelier. The receptionists do their best to accommodate you, and get you an appointment as soon as they possibly can. You never know which doctor you will get, but every single doctor is friendly, thorough, and you never feel rushed/fobbed off if you have complicated symptoms. One of the things I am most grateful for in my life is being a patient at Gale Farm. I have total faith in them, and feel extremely well looked after.
Zoe Garrity: The receptionist answering the phones is a very very rude and unhelpful women! I don't know how she has that job if I'm honest. I'm a very concerned mother for my son and his health at the moment and she couldn't care less.. God help any patient who calls this surgery for serious medical help..Ok im just replying to the response iv just got from the surgery for this review below.. so now I'm strange? Wow.. no my sick son is a patient at your surgery though.. so do not tell me to delete this HONEST review about your terrible receptionist you had on yesterday! Who clearly hates her job! Kind Staff?? Haha please start recording the phone calls and then tell me you still think your receptionist is kind! And I do not have the wrong surgery either my son is a patient at gale farm surgery and it was me who called for him to receive no help or care what so ever! SHOCKING
christian bradley: The worst reception staff you can think ofWant an appointment? The receptionist will decide!Want the medication you rely on? Tough! They won’t get it!
Syed Z Hasan: Called to request a message to be sent to a GP. But the operator denied giving various excuses and then hung up saying I was raising my voice when I tried to tell her she was wrong and she could send a message using a messaging system they had. Terrible receptionists working here with no or little training.
Ross Young: Shocking service and attitude
damo 87: I've been at this doctors for over 20 years and have seen a rapid decline in the reception department, I have no idea what they are payed to do? But I can assure you that answering the phone is well and truly not done. I needed a repeat prescription for my asthma inhaler which cannot be bought over the counter. No answer at all Thursday and today Friday From 3pm until closing, nobody answered the phone at all so now I'm to wait over the weekend without it. If a computer signs you in now by the tap of a screen. Is this to say there are no reception staff anymore??
Alastair Cowper: Always received excellent service and attention. For in excess of 15 years.
