Matt Ward: Cosy restaurant with additional access to river views if sitting out on the terrace. Lovely food and a relatively reasonable price for somewhere that is on the Michelin food guide. Quick and friendly service, overall a great experience.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options labelled clearly, with a good number of choices for starters and small dishes. Only two vegetarian main dishes, so not much to choose from there, although both are excellent!

Brett Turner: Great place tucked away from the main street. I visit often so thought it's time I left a review. Very friendly staff and great service every time I have been. There are plenty of vegetarian options too which is great ad a few of my friends are veggie. Tonight I had the bork belly dish and it was incredible, presented well with plenty of vegetables and delicious crispy pork belly.
Sarah Joanne: & added Chicken for an extra £2.50 & a portion of skinny fries to share....... compliments to the chef! Very well presented on the plate and absolutely delicious. Worth every penny! Infact I was pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived.Looking forward to returning soon.Thankyou 😊

Barbara Bassi: Very nice experience. We had Easter lunch with a tasty Sunday roast. They provided us a comfortable spot where it was easy to reach the accessible toilet and have the baby changed. They also provided us with highchair. Also, the position of the pub is a few steps from the stunning York Minster. Highly reccommended!

Papa.T: On arrival we were promptly shown to our table of choice, drinks order taken after a couple of minutes, and settled down with the drinks to choose from the menu, which had very good value set menu's of 2 or 3 courses, as well as a specials menu to add choice, staff were polite and efficient. We were there early so were the first in for the evening but the place soon filled up. The food was excellent and the courses were not rushed. All in all it was a lovely evening and will definitely be returning again soon. Update! Has now closed down and has opened up as an Italian restaurant.

Mark Hemsley: I have been here a couple of times and it is no on my 'go to' list of places. The food is amazing, full of flavour, freshly prepared and with many great choices available. The menu changes so there are always specials available. The selection of salads are amazing too... really hard to decide which to have or rather which to leave out!The service is wonderful. Very friendly staff who can give helpful recommendations and make you feel very welcome and unhurried.Great range of drinks too and I loved the flowering teas.Definitely worth a visit, even if its to grab a take out!Excellent value for money.

Colin Richardson: Stayed here for a short break in York and absolutely can’t fault it. Room was lovely, breakfast was great, staff too, and location was an 15 minute walk from the city centre. Natalie Chambers: I often think this place doesn't look much from the outside but inside it is lovely!Always beautifully clean and on a sunny day it is so bright and gorgeous and always feel so warm and welcoming. The food is second to none too. Wonderful roasts on Sunday AND you can supersize them to have extra meat and roasties too. Amazing! We also sometimes for lunch and the pies and sloppy Joe sandwich are a favourite of mine. Defintely recommend.

Joseph Newman: It’s a nice, nowhere near Ivy London, Manchester, or Leeds. It’s a very toned down version with, for example, a coat stand rather than a wardrobe or cloak room. Service is the same for every guest, courteous but standardised, and the food and drink selection is reasonable. On this visit there was a full range, which was great compared to last time. Overall, a good visit, and nice staff, food, and drinks.
Donna Drakeford: First time visit for me. The decor was lovely and the service was excellent. The vegetarian choices were a little basic, so as I am pescatarian, I chose fish & chips. My husband had Shepherds pie, and we all had arranchini balls to start with. My daughter had the same mains as me.The arranchini balls were nice but would have been better served with a sauce as they were a little dry.The fish & chips were nice, as was the Shepherds pie. The Creme brulee was lovely, as was the chocolate bomb.Presentation was good, and my daughters peanut allergy was handled well.It is a very noisy, busy restaurant. The price was average for these days in a nice restaurant. All in all a pleasant lunch. If I was in the area I might call in for breakfast as my husband says it is very good, and the cappucino was excellent.
Craig Bond: Called in on the off chance we could get a table without reservation on a busy Saturday lunchtime and the front on house staff happily accommodated our custom to show us to our table. Once seated the service was very good. The only slight negative feedback I could give is that we were charged £4.95 for a bottle of table water offered to use by the waiter. Though at no point did we get informed this would be chargeable. Irrespective of this small detail it didn't dampen our experience and would happily return to The Ivy in York.

Margaret ashbridge: Being gluten intolerant and pescatariam it's difficult to find a restuarant that offers a plate of joy but Lucia restuarant did that. Food well presented and tasty. Staff very helpful and with a welcoming smile very attentive. The only downside was loud modern music but on asking the sound was turned down leaving us to enjoy our anniversary meal with family . This was our third visit and we will be returning.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free risotto with truffle oil so very , very tasty.

Don’t get me wrong, I would not begrudge the staff their tip as the service was quick, friendly and polite and up to the same high standard as the food, but it would be nice to have the bill checked or explained prior to making payment.In conclusion, we will eat here every time we are in York, I would even go so far as to say we might even make a trip to York just to go to 1331!
Groanz: Like all the hospitality businesses in the UK, they seemed very understaffed. However, the waitress was amazing. She was sweet, got us seated right away and thought with us about a possible other table that would be better for us. Drinks and food came fast and the atmosphere was good. Food was typical comfort food and the portion size was very big. Loved the place and we would definitely visit again when we're in York.

Molly Johnson: For a Monday we really enjoyed this, it didn’t matter that it wasn't busy. Leera was our server and she was so attentive and brought our drinks and even asked us if we wanted more drinks before we had finished. The round brought out just before paying was amazing and a good value for money.
