The assistant was so knowledgeable and helpful, guiding us on choosing which style to buy. Despite this, I changed my mind on returning home from holiday and decided that the jacket I had chosen would be too big and heavy for regular use. In fact, the style chosen by my partner was far better suited to my needs, as well.Four months after making my initial purchase, I emailed Smarts with fingers crossed that they could help me. I received such a reassuring and positive response from Emma Smart, shortly afterwards. I returned the jacket by post, despite the considerable time delay since buying it, and received a jacket I am much happier with. The shop assistant on the phone kept me informed of my return and exchange. He also sent me a tin of wax to cover the price difference between the jackets, which I was delighted to receive.Buying a Barbour jacket was a considered purchase and investment. However, Smarts of York demonstrated such excellent customer service throughout, that I am so thankful to have found them, rather buying the jacket online. By their actions, they show they care about the customer being happy with their purchase and the service I received was so personal, at every stage. Traditional values that are rare to find these days.Once again, I would recommend Smarts Of York wholeheartedly. I look forward to returning there in the future, when next in York.

The servicethen was exemplary.The wallet recently became faulty and I contacted smarts. I admit I didn't have my receipt so wasn't sure what could be done. Within a couple of hours Ashley had arranged and posted a replacement wallet to be sent recorded signed for delivery so I would receive it 9 24 hours. This is amazing service and not once did I get any objection. Having been a retail manager for almost 30 years this is what retailers should be doing all over the UK. RosaRobinette: We stumbled upon this gem of a store randomly. We left with a beautiful suit and sports coat. Unfortunately, we weren't thinking and didn't get the tie that the suit was paired with. A month or so later, after we returned to the states, I called and spoke with the absolutely amazing Zoe. She sent us pictures of a variety of options that would work beautifully with our purchases. We decided on 3 ties. The shipping was reasonable and lightening fast. We received them exactly 1 week after placing the order. I can't recommend this place enough. Everything from the quality of the clothes to the professionalism of each person who helped us made this experience top notch.

This in my opinion is a proper tailor.Nothing was too much trouble. The size of the trousers were a tad big as was the waistcoat so these were properly measured to be sent away for alterations. I also had a pair of trousers tailored into shorts too.Thanks again for giving me such fantastic service.

Andy was extremely approachable knowledgeable & helpful showing us the type of suits available & then arranged a suit fitting day for all the lads. We arrived for the suit fitting as arranged and all our measurements were taken by helpful polite members of staff. We were notified when the suits were ready to be collected & a member of staff even helped us carry the suits out to our car.All the suits we're immaculate they fitted perfectly & came with new shirts, pocket square,bow tie & cumubund. Only one jacket was too large & was replaced with a smaller one the next day. Overall an outstanding service from Moss bros and their brilliant staff!A big thank you to Andy & the team at the York designer outlet branch for making this so easy & helping us to look so smart.
