Astek have made a brilliant job of levelling it back off, replacing the fencing and damaged areas whilst retaining the mature plants that we wanted to keep. Both John and his team were very attentive and customer focused throughout the process constantly checking we were happy with any decisions being made. They could have taken the easy option and done what was easiest for them but their customer focussed approach was extremely refreshing.There were a few design solutions we had to leave until the job progressed, John as always came up with various solutions offering pros and cons for each so we could make an informed decision. There were elements of the work which were more challenging than expected for them, and couldn’t be foreseen, but they still did this without any question of additional cost.First class service from start to finish and I would thoroughly recommend Astek.

From first meeting to final sign-off they were accommodating, friendly and, most of all, professional. I think another review on here said you can engage them with absolute confidence and I couldn't agree more; they might not give you the absolute cheapest quote you can find but their service is worth it.

Nicholas Medcalf: We booked Astek to build a patio, steps and retaining raised bed on a sloping site in our back garden. Underground Aquacels were installed for drainage so there was significant earthwork involved. With a project of this size there is always the opportunity for complications and snags to turn up but Astek kept us in the loop at every step of the process and we felt confident at all times that we were informed about developments with the project and were treated with courtesy, being involved in decision-making from the careful survey down to the post-project follow up visit. Before the project start, Richard Keast prepared a scale diagram of the proposed design with notes on material specifications. We wanted to adjust the result and this was accommodated readily. In a pre-project visit on site, the manager John Barker explained more about the way it would be handled. It was evident from the start that our project worker, John Palmer, was taking care to protect parts of our property that were not involved in the excavations and that he was equally careful to keep disruption to a minimum for our neighbours, cleaning up the access drive after each day's work. Poor weather conditions did not hold up the work and it was delivered on schedule. In post-project follow-up we were given information about how to maintain the structures, given the materials used. We would recommend Astek and our neighbours were favourably impressed with the new patio.

Carol Woodward: It’s always a worry when choosing who to carry out large works on your property, you hear such terrible stories regarding poor workmanship, unfinished projects basically being ripped off. So we hoped that with a combination of great reviews, a recommendation from a project manager from another company and a favourable meeting with Richard and John that Astek was the company for us. I agree with other reviews that they definitely are not the cheapest, but was counting on the old adage that you get what you pay for. We weren’t disappointed. We wanted a large area of driveway and paths in Indian Stone and a new patio.Communication from the start was excellent and they started when they said they would. Chris and Mack worked like trojans. It was winter and we were nervous about the weather and having a winter project, but actually on the whole the weather was good, sunny and mainly dry but cold. So don’t be put off having your project done by these guys over the winter months. In fact we were glad we didn’t hold out until spring as more often than not it threw it down.Chris and Mack never stopped from early morning until teatime. I thought it was too big a project for just two people, how wrong was I, they were magnificent. Any problems that cropped up or anything that we were not happy with was dealt with straight away no problem. John the project manager was always at the end of the phone and would make frequent visits.They want you to have a stress free experience and on the whole it was, there was just a couple of niggles which unfortunately reflected on them. One being that we were quoted for powder coated gates but when they came they were not as the manufacturer of the gates painted them in situ. One phone call to John who offered partial refund, take away to powder coat or leave as painted. They look great so we left them painted. Unfortunately the other incident was from their office staff who sent us a rather large invoice in error. This was quite a shock but once pointed out their error it was rectified.All in all the work they did was exceptional. We love our new driveway and patio especially now the hot weather is here. I would highly recommend Astek garden design and build and despite the couple of niggles I still give them 5 stars.
