British Study Centres York: what do users think?
박윤경: All refunds take more than a year. I protested all year, but I didn't get any response, and I suddenly got a refund without an apology. I'm very disappointed with the worst customer response.
Lenuta Coni: The best
Gurpreet Kaur: Good
Mohammed O: Very horrible registration process. Totally not supportive.
Charlène Santos: I was supposed to study here 4 weeks from April to May but couldn’t make it because someone close to me was in the hospital.I asked for a refund but never heard from them which is crazy because I paid more than 2000 euros for an accomodation and english lessons !!! They didnt even refund at least half of what I paid, nothing !!! A small gesture would have been really nice !This is not ok because what was I supposed to do ? Come anyway even if someone could have died ???? I was so excited to study there but now I am just really disappointed. I dont recommend it.
szeyan Ching: I finished my study (General English 20AM for 16.6 hrs a week) in BSC York recently (in 2020). I recommend you to join the classes too, haha I didn't get any pay for leaving positive comments here. Just because the experience was so great and I really enjoyed studying in BSC York. If you wanna have a special study abroad experience, you can check out the photos to know more. I don't wanna disclose my personal photos here, so check out BSC York Facebook page to see other students' photos. The school provides social activities every weekday, so you can meet friends there ( especially conversation club, it's a good time to practice your spoken English too ). Home stay is a nice choice if you only have limited budget because it's cheaper and also special. My host mom is a nice person and cooked me traditional cuisine for dinner :-) . I love everyone in BSC York. If you see this comment, what I wanna say is just Miss you guys soooo MUCH!!!
Edward Asquith: Went here for a CELTA taster day. Very informative and useful
Khalid Alnuaimi: I studied at BSC in 2009, and it was an extraordinary experience.I have had 30 days in the institute in the summertime; during my study, I was staying with a British family who they are more than awesome.I remember that we were studying in a beautiful place near by the museum, I know that studying a new language is not an easy task for many people, but it worth it.I recommend to invest and use your time to get the best of it wherever and whenever you are.Best,Khaled
Fahad Althuwinie: Actually it was not a good experience at all, unfortunately, this place doesn’t care to your educational benefit as much as the financial returns . First of all, almost all classes absolutely packed with students, so don’t be surprised if you are with a group of 14 students in the same classroom , which makes it difficult for me to interact more with the teacher .I had an intensive English course for 3 months in this school and I had to move to another school because I was bullied by an English teacher in the same school. where he made all of my fellow students laugh at me by saying a “rude-sexual” joke ( take the stick out of your back si.. ) because of my pronunciation and I wasn’t used to using a lot of contractions while I was speaking at that time as a student in intermediate level . Moreover, because I was using a lot of formal English at that time he used to breathe down on my neck and interrupted me while I was speaking. As a result of that I went really through the rough because In doing so I found that weakens my confidence while am speaking and try not to use this kind of vocabulary. All you know that, as we are second language learners, it’s hard for us to divide the language into two parts, one for speaking (informal)and one for writing (formal) and what we care about, is to improve our language whether it's formal or informal speech, isn't it?I reported what happened with me to the academic office and there wasn’t serious enough about what I endured. This was my terrible experience in this place and really I regretted remaining and wasting my time there.
RAJA F: I like that 👍🏼
Kaarel Mannert: men after going to this place my english is comparable to a native speaker
Rossana Lopes: Had the best time ever at the school would recommend to everyone who's looking forward to studying in a quiet city. They've got a lot of teachers who will put all the effort to make you learn in the best way ( specially Joy) and also the staff is helpful, Sarah and Emily are such friendly people ☺️. I've studied there for almost 6 months and I can say that I've increased tremendously my knowledge and I feel comfortable about my English.
Abdulrhman Alfaifi: Not studying at the Institute 😁 but I'm planning for that in the near future .. I expect that the Institute is the best in York
Saudi Sadiq: Very good
مالك العنزي: Very nice
Joaquín Benavente: I made the General English 15 hours Course in this school. Everything I have to say is positive. The school is very good in general. Our lessons were really funny and productive. At the same time, the teachers were very nice and they helped you with every question. I strongly recommend this school, York is an impressive city and the school is really fascinating!
Gabriel G: I recommend to all who want to learn English. Good luck!
Abdullah Alshahrani: I been here for long time, it is great school for English as second language. I highly recommend it.

La Vecchia Scuola: what do users think?
Martin john Tunney: Myself and partner stop in here for dinner on a very quiet Friday evening which we normally do on our regular visit to York this is normally the high light of our day but am sorry to say not this time the quality of the food awful I myself ordered a carbonara which came this was dried up pasta with rock hard ham pieces and very little sauce my partner order black ravioli filled with salmon which looked nice much better than mine but she later admitted wasn't very tasty .Also the portion size was very poor not what am use to when I dine here at all on the plus size the service was excellent as normal but in ended this review I very much doubt I will be dinning here again which is a shame
Rhona Burden: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Angie Woodcock: What a lovely restaurant in the very centre of town. The food was amazing and the service was second to none, very reasonable on price, highly recommended.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Tiramisu, Caesar Salad, Spaghetti Carbonara, With Raspberry Coulis, Calzone Diavola …More
Nicoletta Baranelli: Oh my goodness what an amazing experience from the lady who answered the phone to book us in to the very last morsel of food we ate, so very accommodating to our dog too, brought a bowl of water over for him before we even had a chance to ask for one. All the staff members are incredible and we genuinely had an amazing experience from start to finish. This was our first time here but certainly won’t be the last! Can’t wait to go back again, the food was so delicious and very authentic, classic Italian dining, good wine, good food and amazing venue!
Roxsanne Roberts: Exceptional food and impeccable service, the outlook onto the garden was also beautiful, five stars we would recommend ! Thank you 😊
Nathan Seddon: Over priced for quality off food .Dishes not served as advertised. When asked they said it would not show on the bill . But only took off a miniscule amount !Food: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Eddie Smith: A lovely atmosphere here and as you walk in the smells from the kitchen are amazing.Four of us ordered from the special set menu and two from the a la carte; 3 x calamari, 1 x cooked Brie and 2 shared the antipasti shown in the photo. To be followed by 4 x meat skewers, 1 x fish stew and 1 x sea bass. The antipasti was amazing and plentiful. The Brie was enjoyed but the calamari, whilst lovely and soft and not at all chewy, was completely tasteless. No amount of lemon or salt and pepper improved it. It was if the chef had forgotten to add any seasoning during cooking. All 3 were sent back and to be fair the cost was removed from the bill without asking, but we would have preferred to have been offered an alternative starter.Things didn’t get much better with the main course. The meat skewers were boring. There was little in the way of flavour. On the other hand, the fish stew and the sea bass were both delicious. The deserts were from the special set menu. 2 x vanilla ice creams drowned in espresso, 1 x banoffee and 1 x tiramisu. All were lovely. Our waitresses for the evening were very attentive so the service from them was very good.
Mary Smithson: Very nice food at reasonable prices.
Bill Nelson: The best of everything here in a quaint old school. Beautiful inside.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Brenda Matthews: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Salmon Linguine, Spaghetti Carbonara, Calamari, Breaded BrieMore
Arun Vijayan: Kid-friendliness: I dined at this place with a friend and her kids that has autism. The Asian-looking lady that served us was rude and full of attitude which triggered the toddler to throw a tantrum to the point my friend had to step out.Parents with specially abled kids shouldn't be made to feel this way.It was a horrible experience to watch.Dr. VJ
Matthew Green: As someone who has previously enjoyed many a meal at La Vecchia Scuola I was incredibly disappointed with my latest visit. The food was bland and the seafood was visibly not fresh. My partner and I were disappointed to say the least in what was once a favourite eatery of ours.
Martin: Excellent meal at a reasonable price and excellent waiterFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Susie Hughes: Excellent food and reasonably priced. Lovely to eat in conservatory overlooking gardenFood: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
John Wood: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Tiramisu, Spaghetti CarbonaraMore
Cliff Hackett: Sat in the conservatory. Went for the £28 three course set menu. Calimari followed by fillet steak skewers and cheese, arancini, polenta trio followed by lamb Ragu. Good portion of ice-cream but the affogato a bit disappointing. Serving the expresso and ice cream separately is far better in my book.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
sue chadwick: Fabulous!Dietary restrictions: Very good for gluten free vegans.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Lauren G Luis V: Excellent, recommended 100 %
annemie stabel: Heel mooi restaurant met zicht op de tuin. Heel vriendelijke service. Attentvol personeel.

York Learning: what do users think?
Helen Robinson: After a 9 year gap spent raising my three children I lost confidence and found it difficult to socialise let alone find employment. I attended a number of courses with York learning that helped me build confidence and gain qualifications to get back into work. I can't praise them enough!
