Mairead Kelly: Visited today at 0900 - seen at 1200 by a very helpful nurse practitioner who diagnosed my issue, answered all of my questions and ordered a prescription for me. Screens said wait was 4.5 hours but it was more like 3 for me, and other likely more urgent issues were seen quicker. Note if you are sent there for the GP services, it doesn’t start until 10am. Also, you go to A&E first who then refer you through, if you’re not sent by 111/some other service.
Jo Mills: Was seen very quickly, staff all so helpful and caring, including the volunteers.
Kendra Stonehouse: Arrived at 5pm into a busy emergency department with signs saying 5 hour wait. I was triaged quite quickly and sent to the urgent care unit. This was also supposedly a 5 hour wait and again I was dealt with quickly. I was in and out within less than 2 hours. The staff were fantastic, I couldn’t fault them.

Martin Rowson-Clark: I have known about this medical centre for a number of years. This is my first time using their services. Due to a shoulder injury, I initiated contact via the website. Called on the Monday morning and was surprised to receive a appointment that morning. It is a beautiful building. Reception staff where friendly. I saw the Dr and after the consultation it was recommended that I had a joint injection. The Dr checked and I was booked in the next Friday.An efficient and pleasant experience from initial contact. Very friendly staff.

Doug Reeves: To be honest the GP’s, nurses etc have been excellent to me since joining from Haxby Group after being there 45 years. Strongly doubted if I would ever find a GP’s practice that treated people like people. Last year I would have left a bad review, time has opened my eyes to how good the staff are. My wife has had three very bad nose bleeds which our local hospital said was not serious enough to treat straight away even though we had to call for an ambulance because she had passed out and her blood pressure was very low. So she was told it would be 22 months to wait. She had an appointment at 3-10pm out by 3-30pm and the problem fixed.

Emilene Coventry: When I first joined Unity Health the telephone system was very frustrating. But it's now vastly improved. It can take a while to get through but it lets you know where you are in the queue so you can decide if you want to hang on. Once I have got through I've found the receptionists to be friendly and helpful. The doctors and nurses I've seen have also been brilliant, explaining everything carefully and never talking down to me.

Sometimes it tales a while to get an appointment and it can be hard to reach them but the receptionists and GPs have always tried to accommodate me. They might not be able to weave miracles but I think they're doing a banging job all things considered.

Amy Jackson: and after some negative reviews I feel like they deserve some positive ones. All my experiences have been very positive, particularly the receptionists are so kind and understanding which is exactly what you need when you aren’t feeling yourself! Long wait times can’t always be helped but I feel like the staff here go above and beyond to make you feel listened to and at ease.

Leo P: issue to ensure it is recognised, and an appointment is allocated according to its severity- as is the case with any GP surgery around the country.They recently implemented a callback feature, meaning you can bypass the frustrating & lengthy call queues, which is a really positive & helpful step.
Mohammed Alhusayni: The staff in the reception are very nice and helpful, and you can call them directly from their number in google maps. The doctor as well is helpful, patient and accurate in his notes. You have to book an appointment to do anything here, usually it is the same day or the day after. I recommend calling them before coming. The unity health i think is even better than York Hospital, and I recommend to go to unity health if possible before the hospital.

Mac McLoughlin: I had a total knee replacement in November 2020. The care that I received was second to none, from the reception staff, the operator, cleaning staff, ward staff, physiotherapists, x-ray, laboratory staff, theatre and medical team and the nursing staff. If I have missed anyone out,my apologies. Everything was clean and sanitised. All the staff were friendly, helpful and thoroughly professional. Everything was explained to me and there was always help when I needed it.Here I am about 4 months postop and everything is going really well. I am still trying to get more flexion so that i can ride both my push bike and motorcycle. Nearly there. I am walking much better than I have been able to for over 15 years.Thank you to all the staff who made this all possible. From arrival until I left all the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. And nothing to much trouble. A huge thank you to everybody from Mr gibbons and his team. To all the ward staff you were brilliant. I highly recommend the ramsay hospital.
