Sherzod Muminov: Superb customer service at this lovely English-house-style B&B in a very central location. Rooms are very clean, pretty and cosy and the place is a short walk from the train station and York city centre. Besides providing a bed to crush on, this place will add character to your stay - the staff are friendly in a very English way, and the B&B has a house feel to it (as if you were visiting your distant English aunt who is very welcoming).More importantly, I was very pleased that the staff were ready to go an extra mile for customers: I forgot an inexpensive but important accessory at the room and when I called about it the next day, Fiona agreed to post it back (within the UK) and didn't charge for postage. I am very grateful and will book at this place whenever I'm back in York. Cannot recommend highly enough.
William Dagnan: Booked a superking delux room and it was Immaculately clean with good facilities with comfortable beds. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Hilton York: what do users think?
Jack Norman: My company is a diamond member so everywhere I stay for business or leisure I get diamond status. Free breakfast and drinks on arrival.Never had an issue with it not being in my name as the company credit card used is in my name. The absolute jobsworth on the desk decided on I and my partners weekend away to take all benefits from me. Giving no reason other than not my name. But it is in my company's name and paid with my credit card. Gave me a 'upgraded room' with a view which is not worth it. Would rather the breakfast. All in all would not stay again. Doubletree is better. No parking available. Poor service. All the time he was taking away my benefits he was smiling at me like a c**t
Emmy: Pros: Very close to city centre which was only an 8 minute walk. Comfortable pillows.Cons: Definitely the worst hotel stay we have ever had. Bathroom had ‘body hair’ in bath and around plug hole. Shower was a bit dusty and dirty. There was also dried food on the curtain which we noticed when we opened them. For £100 it was definitely not worth the money, I probably would have considered £60 if it was spotless! Our hotel room was also attached to the one next door and thankfully we couldn’t hear anyone however I don’t know how comfortable I would have been if someone had been there as they could have easily gotten in with the flimsy locks. Staff should have at least told us. There was also no air con which meant the room was quite warm and hard to sleep. Bed wasn’t very comfortable. Very disappointed. To make it that much worse we were woken up at 12.30 to the fire alarm, as we made our way outside not one member of staff in sight. Everyone from the hotel huddled outside and we all agreed that it wasn’t great that no one had came to talk to us to let us know what the situation was. Turned out to be a false alarm which we are thankful for but I was a bit shocked that the fire brigade wasn’t called as a precaution as the alarm continued to ring for 20 minutes. On check out we didn’t even get asked if our stay was okay and we were so tired and fed up by that point we couldn’t be bothered to complain or ask for any money back. Do not recommend.Walkability: 8 minute walk from city centre
Robbie Ashworth: Scrambled eggs delicious and rooms comfortable.Stayed here with my parents and grandmother in September 2019.

Ian Norris: Very nice hotel, clean, staff very friendly , amazing breakfast, good quality food, stopped here twice now , cant fault it,
Quinn B: This hotel was fine, but nothing special. We were here on Easter weekend, and it was very noisy, and rooms were small. York seemed especially crowded so I’m not sure if the noise was due to rowdy crowds or if it’s always noisy. All the sights are within walking distance, but if you’re coming from the train station it’s probably worth springing for a taxi.
sean iphonerepairs: Great place, clean, friendly, great food and valet parking!
Peter Walker: Lovely hotelIdeal location for the City
Matthew Skermer: After finding out that I was going to be staying in a 4* Hilton I was really looking forward to something special, particularly since the night before I stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton in York - a 3* hotel that I enjoyed - and was expecting a bit of luxury. I was disappointed. The good: The staff were excellent and quickly helped with any issues I had. I really appreciate everyone I interacted with during my stay. The breakfast was excellent. It's what I would expect from a 4* breakfast. It even had gluten free vegetarian sausages. They tasted vegetarian and would have preferred them with meat in, but we're better than other vegetarian sausages I've had at the few hotels that attempt gluten free sausages, so I was satisfied. There were sliced meats, greek yoghurt, compote, fresh fruit, cheese, loads of gluten-filled pastries together with the standard cooked breakfast. They also had gluten free bread, a separate toaster and gluten free cereals. It was a sunny day, I could eat my breakfast in quiet by the window, so I was happy. I would ask management to think about getting some gluten free cakes for breakfast, too. There are so many varieties and it will make the many people with intolerances and allergies so much happier. The gym was fine, but almost identical to the Doubletree. With a 4* hotel I would have thought they'd have given something a little more. Also, the mirrors and the machines were not lined up well so you can't really admire yourse... *Ahem* I mean check your form without getting in the way of others. Maybe moving the cable machine to where the dumbbells are and putting the dumbbells where the cable machine is would make better use of the space and allow people to look in the mirror while working out.The bad: Pretty much everything else, unfortunately.I was here for a conference and the gluten free options provides for snacks were really poor. Gluten-eaters were given cakes, gluten-avoiders were given fruit, as an example. And this kind of thing happened so many times throughout 2 days. As mentioned above, there are many, many gluten-free products available. Could management consider purchasing some to give to coeliacs or those with gluten intolerance?Lunch. Wow. It was not great for me on the first day - I was forced to eat vegetarian, which I didn't like too much, and scrape the cheese off the cheesecake because there was no gluten-free dessert. But on the second day, I was basically given a tart with vegetables in, salad, and vegetables to eat with hummus (more vegetables). No meat, not carbs (other than a thin layer of pastry) and no dessert...for anyone? I know that the cooks can do better because the evening meal was so great. The rooms really need renovation to keep up with 4* standards. I have stayed in many 3* hotels that look a lot better than the run-down room I was given. There is no AC. (I know I keep referring to the 3* Doubletree, but the room had AC.) Even with the heating off, during cold weather in April, I needed to open the window to bring the temperature to a manageable level. I wouldn't have been able to sleep, I'm sure, if it had been summer. And with the heating switched off, the weird, old plumbing clicked every few seconds. Then in the middle of the night the pipes started rattling.I won't stay again.(PS. If anyone reads my other reviews you'll see that I'm not just complaining for nothing - I always give fair reviews, expressing both my positive and negative impressions.)

Glen Faulkner: We booked a single nights stay in a suite just before Easter Bank Holiday. Not too busy not too quiet. The staff were excellent from the start, we were able to secure a parking space in the basement as we were there around 1pm and the concierge charmed us into adding breakfast to our stay.As our room wasn't ready (as we were 3 hours early, we were being cheeky asking!) we wandered around York and arrived back at 4 and the staff walked us through the check in and explained everything we needed to know. The Suite was excellent we were on the second floor in the William Etty Suite and although you couldn't see Clifford tower at the front you could see the Church behind the hotel from the bedroom. Both rooms had a nice telly and as we had our toddler they had pulled the sofa bed out and made it up ready for bedtime. Not the most comfortable for a slightly achey middle aged bloke but he is small and only on one of the mattresses so slept well. The table was a good size and we wound up ordering room service as the little one was exhausted. The chairs were spinny ones so he had fun!The only slight issue was the en-suite was only heated by a large towel rail and was consequently always a bit chilly (although slippers and robes are provided.)Breakfast was of the self sevice buffet style, but all the food was fresh and hot and eggs are cooked to order meaning no rubbery or solid fried eggs. Lots of choice so well worth the £15 per head for adults.*Edited to correct autocorrections and added breakfast comments*Walkability: Right in the city centre.
Andrea Dennison: Arrived in height of season August 2022Paid £500 for 2 nights. As soon as we entered the corridor to our room a women and child was running up and down the corridor in their pyjamas Asked to be moved to another room. The breakfast was a total sham as no room to sit and no food left but other guests plates where piled high. I will never return again total waste of money. will Use air bnb next time
Mint CK: Only one star for locationBelow standard, price as 4 stars but reality 1 star is more than enough

Alan Taylor: All good, will go back.Nearby activities: All in walking distance.Walkability: Near most things of interest.
julie buckham: Excellent location right next to Clifford Tower and 5 mins walk from shops and restaurants. Valet parking was handled well and costs £25 pee night. We were upgraded to a superior room on 3rd floor overlooking Clifford tower with king size bed. Good breakfast either cooked or continental with plenty of choice . Only quibble was the fact that every day we hung towels on rail so we could reuse them to save water as requested and every day they were replaced 🤨
Kevin Lakey: Loved it.!! Great staff..lush food…great location ❤️
Vasily: Great location but very dated hotel. I am great fan of the Hilton chain but this is not 4 star.

Aimee Sparkles: We usually stay in Premier Inns as we know what to expect but this one was unfortunately on the lower end of that scale. Our room was weirdly laid out meaning you had to shimmy between the wall and bed to get to the other side and you could see where someone else had done so previously because there was a dirty mark on the wall about head height. No a/c meaning the room became quite hot and the only thing to remedy that was to crack open the window a measly amount that it allows you to. But that does mean when the pub downstairs is rolling the barrels in at about 7am it sounds like they're in the room with you.The bed was not as comfortable as I usually find Premier Inn beds and creaked a lot too. There is no working wifi which in this day and age is unacceptable. The staff however were friendly and the location is good as its close to the station. For 1 night it was acceptable but if we were to go back to York, I'd probably stay elsewhere.
Mc Family: Premier Inn no longer service your room, this is due to Covid. But as we are supposedly 'back to normal now' then they should really start to do this again. Obviously using it as a way to make more money, by not paying staff to have to do this. We didn't have any WiFi in the room either, despite it being advertised on the website as offering this. Otherwise, a comfortable stay.

Clark Lamb: Stay, once we got in the apartment was reasonable, though a big part of that was due to York being a lovely city. Getting in the apartment was nothing short of a shambles right from the start. Be warned - because the hosts won't warn you - that you must check your emails right up to your entry day. This is because you only learn last minute that you need a keysafe code to get in your digs. We had no prior knowledge of this, so turned up at the place without any way of entry. Both phone numbers on the final confirmation still haven't returned our calls, nor has the email address. After breaching security protocols to retrieve the belated email from my works account, we then found the code was invalid! After an hour and a half at the roadside in 30° heat, we were ready to make the 5 hour trip home. Fortunately a couple arrived to check in, and tho their code was also wrong, they at least had a number which was answered, and we were given entry codes. Great, or perhaps not, as on entry we found the apartment had not been cleaned. Eventually a lady turned up to tidy the digs and change the linen etc. But it was a makeshift tidy up, as we spent the week walking in dust/hairs from the previous guests, and brushing dust of our clothes. We are anything but snobs, so we made the most of it. Arguably my biggest gripe, is that I am still (2 weeks later) awaiting a reply to my complaints via email. These apartments could be perfect if they were managed better, great location, and well priced for modern accommodation in a city centre. I had been awaiting a response from management before posting this, but as no contact has been made, I'm compelled to warn others.

Bill Nelson: King bed in a tiny room. Cannot even get out of one side of the bed with a suitcase on the floor beside the bed. You have to do this because there is only one suitcase rack and two of us. No closet, only pegs to hang clothes on. If you hang clothes on the pegs, there is not room for the suitcase atop the rack. Bed is so close to the desk that you can hardly get in and out of the chair. Have to unplug either the coffee pot or desk light to be able to plug up a computer. Pillows are fat and lumpy. Have to walk forever to get to rooms in the new part and change elevators. I DO NOT recommend this hotel.
Anita Peat: I was travelling alone and meeting friends here. I arrived on Friday 21st April in the afternoon to a very long queue at reception . When the member of staff saw me arrive complete with my walking sticks, he quickly helped me with my booking. There was no room for me to park in one of the three blue badge spaces so he found me a space in their staff car park which was extremely close. I had booked an accessible room, but due to the distance involved with walking to it, he thought I might prefer a closer room which had a walk in shower, not a full wet room, called a cosy double room.An extremely helpful member of staff showed me to this room and thought that might not be suitable but left me to decide I agreed it wasn’t going to be because the bed was very high. I would probably keep bumping into things due to the compact size of the room, so she showed me another which she thought might be possible. This was a family room with lots of space and for me to bring my mobility scooter in and charge it up overnight. This was a definite upgrade and had a view of the river. She also very kindly upgraded my friend to a similar room in the name of fairness!! as she put it. I could not fault the hotel or the staff, they did everything possible, and more to make our stay easy, which isn’t always straightforward as a single traveller with mobility requirements.Bed was extremely comfortable, hotel quiet and peaceful, yes really! Spotless room and shower room.
Neil Macey: Very decent hotel in ideal location.Close to everything. Special shout out to Richard on the check in desk who was very helpful in pointing and directing us to alternative parking as hotel carpark was full and ensuring we got a riverside view room. (NCP carpark was £34 for two days FYI, which included £14 discount from hotel).Room was decent and bathroom with rain shower was spot on.If i have a moan, its just the river view rooms look onto 2-3 bars and as it was decent weather you could hear the punters on the bar decking across the river shouting and singing etc until 1am. All in all a great stay.

Craig Stewart: When we arrived, there was no coffee, milk, tea etc - it had been forgotten when the room was serviced. Phoned the desk and a bit later someone turned up with supplies. That’s OK - things happen. Later - around 6pm - we turned on the TV. It went for a while, then completely froze. Tried to phone the desk and no one answered. Tried three times - no-one answered. So I had to go down to reception - from our room location, this was a major trek involving two elevators and long corridor walks. No-one at reception. Waited a while, then someone turned up who took the details. Now this is not OK. Anyway later a repair guy came to our room. Had a look, went away, came back and he got the TV going. Sure these are small things but little things make a hotel experience. Our experience was not great. An expensive hotel, average in all respects - except that breakfast was very good. (Visitors from New Zealand).
Free Squirrel: Perfect location for exploring the city centre. Great customer service. The rooms are a bit small, not many facilities, also not exactly clean.Rooms: Small. Not very cleanNearby activities: Centre location

Jorvik House: what do users think?
John M: Charming, cosy and ideally placed. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you for looking after us!
Andy: Large, comfortable room in an excellent location. It's quiet and just a few minutes walk from the railway station, York minster and the city centre.Nearby activities: York is full of things to do and see, such as the minster and the railway museum.Walkability: The city centre, museums and other attractions are all well within walking distance.
Rachel Higgins: Really great place to stay. Very friendly staff and adjustable heating in the room. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were so friendly.A stocked fridge in the room (not horrendously expensive) as well as complimentary tea and a nespresso coffee machine and pods (fresh milk on request). Slept like a log due to being quiet and beds ridiculously comfortable. Beautiful rooms and fantastic bathroom with nice products and powerful shower as well as fluffy towels. Hair dryer in the room, and iron available on request.Only issue was teenagers in the room next door who clearly weren't getting up as requested, leading to a frustrated dad yelling loudly through it- completely outside of the staff's control. The location of the hotel is second to none- able to walk to the Yorkshire museum within 2 mins and the minster in a max of 5 mins. Parking behind the hotel is public, but reasonably priced and well secured. We will definitely be returning due to the standard of the rooms and our experience.
Hannah Belford: The Rooms are gorgeous and comfortable, with a fully stocked mini bar and everything you could possibly need. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, who bend over backwards to make you feel comfortable and make sure you have everything you need. Will definitely visit again.Walkability: Very central. An ideal spot for everything you need, shopping, bars, cafés, restaurants etc.
Andrew B: Disappointing. Room was not serviced during our two night stay. Breakfast is only available in room and is overpriced.Rooms are tired and tatty.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5 …More
Tim Wheeler: Great location and a very comfortable stay.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet …More
Jayne MacLellan: Only reason not giving 5 stars is because its not an actual hotel with its own carpark. But highly recommend this place. Lots of very clean, well decorated rooms. Staff are extremely helpful. In perfect place for city centre. There is a long stay public carpark literally just round the corner and the prices aren't bad. We left our car there for 2 days and it was fine. If you have problems walking, be aware there is a very short flight of steps to the front door. But there are rooms on the ground floor. What was also nice was that there was a member of staff on duty 24/7. Xx
Teresa Bush: Bathroom small but room was fully thought out and clean loved it location spot onRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Dillon Bray: Lovely room, great selection of snacks and drinks provided, nice staff, great location.
Zoe Smith: Right opposite the museum gardens, this place is like a tardis. It looks tiny on tje outside but is just a maze of corridors on the inside. Our room was so nice with lots of little extra touches, and one of the best showers I've ever had.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Kathryn Gaston: Stayed here for our anniversary, it’s a lovely place! Comfortable beds, nicely decorated room and bathroom. Mini bar in the room too. It is the perfect location for staying in York, directly facing the museum and gardens with the city centre on the other side of this. Price for one night was overpriced I think personally, but would definitely stay again!
Richard Alton: Stayed here for my girlfriends birthday whilst visiting York. Great location and in easy walking distance of the town via the museum gardens. We will be backRooms: The room was awesome large double bed and an amazing walk in shower. Lovely mini bar with local ale and of course loads of Yorkshire Tea x
Jamie Johnson (Heathen): The room was very comfortable and clean. Lovely and helpful staff, location is superb right outside the parkRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Great value …More
Samantha Knapton: The perfect location for exploring the historic and magical city of York.We stayed in room 15, the loft deluxe suite which was spacious, quiet and clean. The bed was soft and comfy, the covers smelt lovely! Breakfast in bed is also a nice treat and highly recommended. You must order before 9pm the night before.Ian was particularly helpful also, thank you for such a lovely stay!
Mathew Chatterton: Really pleasant break. We only stayed one night but found the hotel to be clean, warm and nicely decorated/ furnished. The bed was comfortable and the en suite was clean and well appointed. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and when we came to check out they kindly offered to save our luggage so that we could continue to enjoy our time in York sightseeing. We would happily stay here again! Thanks.
Chris Bulmer: not the best.. paint peeling off walls in bathroom.. booked as photos looked brilliant far from it. no parking had to park in council car park round corner. and definitely not worth nearly 300 a night better bed and breakfasts and holiday inns. terribleRooms: 2/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 3/5 …More

The Judge's Lodging: what do users think?
Lyndsey Batty: Great location and staff were very helpful and friendly.Breakfast was lovely, one of the best we've had!Nice to sit out at the front and have a drink, with heaters for a chilly evening. Rooms nice, if a bit tired and in need of some TLC in places, although I did hear there may be some refurbishment ahead.I think staff may need to check facilities regularly. We were in two rooms, due to last minute booking, and in the first room the shower connection was leaking and in second the toilet didn't flush properly and the shower had no hot water. Full length mirrors in rooms, please!Otherwise we would definitely stay here again without a doubt. Thanks to Aga, one of the Managers who was really nice, Olivia the waitress was lovely and accomodating and Kaleb the Chef, who made our lovely breakfast
Chris Clark: A new favourite drinking spot. Nice relaxed vibe.

Eleanor Ward: Rooms: Wonderful value for money. Couldn't fault it one bit.Bed size is lovely, with a mattress that is just right, along with a snug duvet and comfy pillows. You get a good variety of teas and coffees in your rooms as well as sugar/sweetner. Plus, a courtesy bottle of water for the room too.All amenities such as an ironing board and iron provided, and good wardrobe space. You even get fluffy robes and complementary eye masks and ear plugs!Bathroom was good too, very hygenic and had two sizes of towels per person. It would have been nice to have had complementary toothpaste/mouthwash alongside the soap/lotion/shampoo/conditioner, but I'm nitpicking at that point! 😂Nearby activities: Tonnes of lovely restaurants, shops, and sights to see nearby. Also has its own restaurant as well, though I haven't dined there and merely had breakfast, it's a good option in case you want a more quiet, low-key time in York.Walkability: Accessible on foot from the train station - about a 10 minute walk or so!Very close to the city centre as well, so you don't have to worry about catching transport or trekking too long to find places to eat / see / visitFood & drinks: Only had breakfast there, but it was lovely! A good variety including choices for either a continental or a full breakfast.

Travelodge York Central Micklegate: what do users think?
Jagermeister PL: Świetny hotel z bardzo miłą i pomocną obsługą. Pokoje bardzo czyste i schludne. Bardzo polecam, gdyż jestem bardzo zadowolony z pobytu.
Michael: Very nice place.
Jacob Dunn: Decent hotel room to be honest the road was very loud our room was right across from pop world so very loud on a nighttime i understand they can’t help that we got a super room the shower was amazing and the room itself was clean and tidy would definitely stay againRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Gail Longstaff: Great location for a night in YorkRooms: Nice roomsNearby activities: Loads of bars and restaurantsSafety: Code needed to get in buildingFood & drinks: Had the unlimited breakfast was lush
Joe Nash: On transfering from search engine to travel lodge site booking dates changed, so when turned up no booking till end August, not July, my bad I guess, should have been more observant.Had to rebook, only room available was disability room, on top third floor.Extremely basic room, cheap fan, no air con, shower wouldn't drain, drain cap loose and screw's missing, extractor blocked in bathroom with dust, toilet seat loose and wouldn't stay up right due to bar fitted behind it, burn patch on small electric panel heater, window wouldn't close with extrema force cause arm bent in frame unit. no mugs or cups in room for drinks, or spoons, so reported all the reception, he did sort window, I cleaned bathroom extractor so it worked. For a £180 room I will not be returning.
Lorraine Davenport: Central location, friendly staff and good value for money.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Stu Collett: Stayed here twice on business. It's cheap and cheerful but don't expect a quality night sleep because there's a club opposite and the windows are thin. Even on a Wednesday it's impossible to sleep before the early hours. Stay here if you're drinking but avoid if you're on businessRooms: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 2/5 …More
Helen Walker: Good value, comfortable room. Staff went above and beyond to look after usRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Douglas Mclachlan: Room not cleaned daily or towel change ,toilet was stinking ,had to buy toilet discs to get rid of stench,Rooms: 3/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Rob Williams: It's a travelodge. Decent and good value and great staff.Next to and adjacent to 3 nightclubs/music bars. Loud noise, fighting etc until about 3am.About 5am the bin lorries move in to clear bottles, rubbish etc.Total bliss.York is gorgeous but would not stay here again.Great I suppose if you're on a stag/hen weekend and don't mind not sleeping or are too drunk to notice.Rooms: No need to dress up. Basic.
Shaun The Driver: Ideal location for pubs, walks, shops and viewing the area I like it here and the rooms are just fineRooms: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Ceryl Lake: Stayed in a SuperRoom on the top floor. Great few night's rest, very well stocked beverage facilities, excellent location. All staff friendly and pleasant. The room was luxurious and absolutely wonderful to crash in after work. Didn't hear any street commotion, very restful.I paid extra for breakfast which was decent enough, pretty average faire. There are better options in York but £8.99 for unlimited bacon sarnies isn't bad.Would definitely recommend, and will be staying again.
Paul Colborn: Great location, friendly, helpful staff all at a reasonable price, just the job for a day away with friends.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Nina Gell: Staff lovely, room clean but I paid for a family room... and the room was to the front of the building, between two very loud nightclubs. No sleep at all. Top it off, the family room was advertised as either twin beds or a double bed with a sofa bed. We got a camp bed! Not ideal for a tall 13 year old to sleep on.Travelodge customer services onine...terrible.. the staff in the hotels put you to shame!Top tip if staying at this hotel. ..ask for a room to the back of the hotel, or you will notget any sleep, and if booking a family room, double check their definition of a family room! If I wanted a camp bed, with lots of noise, I would of gone camping! Not paid £80 at this bizarre hotel!
dangel angello: Brilliantly located, close to a parking high rise thats about £20 a day but guests of the hotel get money off. They let us check in early because our room was ready, and tea and coffee were provided in room. There were towels and pillows, but the duvet was a button free one so by the morning the duvet had come out it's cover, and there were no wash cloths, nor any plugs by the bed, just usb slots, but it was all so clean and tidy so that was great. The breakfast was unlimited and all the hot options besides the sausages were gluten free, but as wonderful as the servers were, the breakfast was pretty poor. Again, however, the dining room was clean and we were all well spaced.Rooms: Clean and spacious. One of the nicest Travelodges I've stayed inNearby activities: Everything is within walking distance. You can do the ghost walk, visit the Shambles, pop inside The Shop That Must Not Be Names, eat at a hundred different cafes and restaurants, see live street performers, street decorations, old Tudor houses, visit the antique gardens, do a viking dig, explore York Dungeons, make your own chocolate, visit the train museum, all within walking distance.Walkability: Everything is within walking distance. You can do the ghost walk, visit the Shambles, pop inside The Shop That Must Not Be Names, eat at a hundred different cafes and restaurants, see live street performers, street decorations, old Tudor houses, visit the antique gardens, do a viking dig, explore York Dungeons, make your own chocolate, visit the train museum, all within walking distance.Food & drinks: Theres a load of Italian restaurants and I've been to most of them, though ASK, le vecchia scoula, Bella Italia, and more, all great for gluten free, too, there's a tomahawk, casa rodizio, and cocktail bars everywhere
Sarah Price: Fab location central to everything you want to do, room was nice and clean only gave 4 stars for room due to how thin walls are so you can hear people in the room next to yours and in the corridor but not a massive issue as i just bought earplugs we had a superoom at the back on 3rd floor so didnt have any noise from outside the hotel, shower was lovely and hot although there was the small issue of how slippy the floor gets when you get out the shower plenty of choice for breakfast reception staff were lovely would stay here again :)
