Travelling Man: what do users think?
Ian Wildon: I spoke to a lady there on Friday then visited on Saturday with my son its absolutely brilliant we both loved it. extremely helpful and friendly staff and to top it off we won a giant comic book, thanks so much
Matt M: Staff are obviously passionate about hoped games and this comes through when talking to them.Super helpful, knowledgeable and seem to enjoy their Job.The shop has a wide selection of games ranging from entry level to the hobby and going as far as you'd like to go.
Guy Brown: Good selection and friendly staff.
Alain Salesse: Supremely knowledgeable staff who made us a great board game recommendation that we really enjoy (Viticulture in case you're wondering)
andrew england: Super helpful chap at the counter, I think I've found my new favourite hobby shop
Amanda Vobes: Great choice and friendly staff who have good knowledge.
Yvonne Bissett: Great staff and venue. I visited as part of a pop-up maid cafe and we were made very welcome by all there. Hope to be back next year!
Kyz S: Lovely game store with lovely staff. Things are well priced in there and they have an amazing selection. The staff are really kind and also really knowledgeable and ready to help!
Oliver Taylor: The staff are very friendly. They have a huge range of different comic books, ttrpgs, and board games. They have recently opened a large warhammer section upstairs, which is a god sent since some things are actually cheaper than games workshop. I wish they had a larger selection of card games like Vampire the eternal struggle, but not enough to reduce the rating.
Miss Metal Head: Great service
Mark Chapman: Great shop
Rowan Barber: lovely vibe, even lovelier patient, knowledgeable, passionate staff, really appreciate the pronoun badges + inclusiveness! made me feel really safe both as a queer person and a new dabbler in certain games ☺️
lawrence shaw: Far too narrow and cramped. Impossible to browse properly and probably the most expensive comic book store I've ever been in
Steve Jones: Great selection of games, comics and manga. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Definitely on my list to revisit next time I'm in York
Hayley Grayson: When visiting a new city, we always check for board game shops/cafés as game enthusiasts! The travelling man did not disappoint and the range of games available was vast. The price point of the games was average, although there was a sale on when we visited, so there is a chance you could get a bargain. The shop is small and a little cramped in parts and may be difficult if you have limited mobility. Hence the 4 stars. Nice range of LGBTQ+ items and books as an added bonus. It's a shame there isn't a coffee shop, game café aspect, although I believe you are able to sit upstairs and play your newly purchased games.
Darren Hodgkinson: Popping into Travelling Man is a highlight of every trip into the city for me! They have a superb selection of comics, new and back issues. A crazy collection of manga you've never heard of. With a dazzling display of board games with boxes the size of a postcard through to boxes the size of the postvan! They've even found room for tabletop RPGs and trading cards somehow! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable too. They greet newcomers and regulars with the same smile and great attitude.I've not used the room upstairs but it's great to have a dedicated space for nerds to be nerds!#SupportYourFLGS
Rudie Humphrey: I like adult graphic novels, there is a small selection of very common titles amongst the nerdy role playing geekery and normal Manga/Marvel/DC fluff.
Andrew Graham: There is something for everyone. Great selection, staff super friendly. Nice and warm shop, good vibes.
allan claydon: Amazing shop! I've ordered from here a few times online so decided to swing in and I was blown away by the sheer range of products a must visit site for any fans of graphic novels and manga, superb range of 40k models, boardgames, and RPGs too!I was surprised the MTG section wasn't larger as this is typically what I've ordered online but still managed to spend hours browsing through the store
Tag 1503: More manga then I've ever seen in one place!
Tim Ashurst: Great place

Susan Dixon: Great products, beautifully packaged and they arrived in Australia so quickly, even with all of the shipping delays due to COVID. The quality is amazing and the price extremely reasonable. I purchased the Weaving Project Bible, the Stash Inventory and some knitting stickers. They’re all great and now I’m going to order a few other things to give as gifts to my crafting family members and friends. Thanks Lucy for such great products and customer service!
Phillipa Baxter: Bought myself a crochet project bible and absolutely love it. All the right info is stored with lots of room for your own notes, pictures etc. Will definitely be back xx

Sore Thumb Retro Games: what do users think?
MesonW: Terrific little treasure trove of classic games, consoles and paraphernalia. Some good prices too.
Lauren Royal: Really great place if you're into your retro games! They have so much awesome tech and collectables in the store and the guys there know what they're talking about
Tom Barnes: Went for the first time yesterday and loved it, such a great range of stock, can’t wait to come back again :)
Daniel Brown: Amazing selection of items. Forget how much you think there will be, there's more! Laid out into sections for easy hunting and the staff are polite. A must visit for amy gamer visiting York.
Damian Davey: Been going for years, great selection and great owners, amazing shop for video game collectors
Alex Fletcher: A gamers delight this shop, plenty of consoles, video games, trinkets and collectables to be found here.Everything was reasonably priced and I was very happy with my purchases.
Luke Proudfoot (Proudy): Great shop visited couple years and met them in person at the local retro gaming markets. Recent brought a game and the customer services was outstanding. Hopefully we vist the store later this year.
Simon Boughey: Awesome shop... long may it survive
John Tate: Awesome place. Went for my birthday in Feb, bought a game gear which was demonstrated to me by the guy in store. He was incredibly helpful and took time to go through a few things before I settled on the game gear. Great selection of games, consoles, collectibles and accessories too. My console collection will be added to again soon from these guys. Mega cd is on my radar
jim dolman: Great range very reasonable prices and Lee is very knowledgeable.
Cthulhu2000: Friendly staff reasonable prices and they really go out of their way to help you find what your looking for. It's a hidden gem for all us old geeks out there
Nathaniel Andrews: The game was overpriced and scratched, too far to return for a refund. Unhelpful staff that are rude and spend time talking to themselves, the place very cluttered. However, there is a good selection of retro gaming.
Antz Eddleston: Great place for retro gaming stuff, usual premium to pay on older retro stuff but as is the nature with older retro goods.a nice selection of both rare and common games, so many generations of consoles that most won't even recognise them, displayed in an easy to view way
Karl Fox: It's a good retro game shop
Paul Donaldson: A fantastic store to visit in person or buy from online. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and, assuming they're not swept off their feet dealing with sales, they're more than happy to discuss the games and other paraphernalia on offer with you, and even the life and times of The Best Bout Machine: Kenny Omega!Whilst the nature of the retro games business is always at the whim of what people are willing to trade in to the store owner, Sore Thumb always makes sure to have an incredible range of games and consoles at their disposal to meet your needs and exceed your loftiest expectations. I never dreamed that I'd be able to even play a Virtual Boy, let alone OWN one, but this past year they managed to procure several of these beasts in PRISTINE condition from an excursion to the Land of the Rising Sun and suddenly, the boyhood dream had come true!Sadly, I moved down south, so I am no longer local to the store, but I always make sure to pop in when in York on business. And, thanks to both their website and Facebook page, I am still able to engage in the same excellent customer service that I am used to receiving in person. Recently I was able to procure several rare items that I had been searching for for some time thanks to having a chat via their official Messenger account, having seen the items on their most recent social media update. The process was extremely quick and simple and store manager Liam even stayed behind late from work to ensure the package was dealt with - and I can confirm that it arrived safely and that he had gone above and beyond the Call of Duty to ensure that the games were very well protected in transit. You honestly could not ask for more from your local merchant.Stay safe, support independent game stores, and get some Sore Thumbs playing games!
Living Dead girl: It's like stepping back into childhood love it
Andrew Graham: Has a great selection of retro gaming and collectables. Had a great time looking through all the stock. Everything is reasonably priced depending on what it is.
Jo Leadbetter: Cool little shop and very friendly. Cash for old consoles, I'm very pleased 😀
Shaun Power: Lots of interesting old gaming items and memorabilia as well as many other collectables items
LeeLee Martin: I needed some information on a game i brought recently, i was concerned over it being a fake, the owner was ever so helpful, thanks again :)
Jack Simmons: A great shop with excellent stock and prices! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and the owner went above and beyond to give me good prices on my trade-ins and help me get stuff. Will definitely be visiting again!

The Shop That Must Not Be Named: what do users think?
Miejsce warte zobaczenia
The House of a Thousand Sins: Loved it. The owners were fantastic, friendly and created a atmosphere that was epic.Definitely a place for future visits
Oliver Pearson: The one of the best Harry potter shop ever when you go in, it hits for the Harry potter vibe and I will go to this shop again when I come back one day to York.
Mr Croup's dad: As always with anything concerning the Potter books and films a premium price is put on all merchandise, this shop is the perfect example, the prices are far higher than their website even with postage.
Masprapa Limvirat: There are lots of Harry Potter stationary, doll, cup and quirky thing. If you a fan you should come.
danny sykes: What a great place
Nataliia: Amazing shop for Harry Potter's fans. Sometimes too busy but it's worth it
TIEN NGUYEN CAU: The shop not must be named ( in a scene of Harry Potter film made in 6 Shambles, York YO1 7LZ, UK
Scarlett Rhoades: So great!!
Sonny Zamot: You will find everything HP. Good store price a bit high but good store
tina lewis: The shop is lovely staff are lovely friendly I went last brought great stuff it's worth the vist we need Harry Pottter shop in harrogate north yorkshire are you do harry potter make up soon
Karen Anglessy: Si vous êtes fan de la licence Harry Potter c'est une boutique à ne vraiment pas louper ! Le personnel est aux petits soins avec les clients !
dom j: Lovely shop and a great range of items however some staff were slightly rude to us and the store overall is very cramped.
Amy Anne Spiteri Cornish: I LOVE THIS SHOP! 3
Dani Thorpe: Great shop for harry potter lovers. Bit expensive
Andrew Smith: Ok friendly and helpfull staff
Abbie Ainsley: Nice little harry potter shop
tom garti: I had a few issues with my order ranging from a shipping error to damaged product when it was received. When I first addressed the shipping issue it was rectified immediately without any issues causing my package to still arrive on time. When I noticed one item was damaged (definitely not due to the packaging or the shop) a replacement was sent promptly. Fantastic customer service. Will definitely return for future orders.
Jason Blackshire: Exceptionally humane service.
Bombastic Bag Man: Brilliant prices went in with my cousin today got 5 wands for £150! (About £25 per wand £32 for a collectors box) however the collectors boxes came with little ribbons stuck to the box and they have these little bits on the end that fall off and go everywhere everything else was perfect staff were very friendly and knew what they were talking about and the wands are very very good quality
UhOhMeMeBiggestBoy: Store was great the line was long but quick and the inside wasn't packed, but my Lumos deluxe wand has snapped in half after falling out of my hand, beyond disappointing for a something with £35 price, that was after they accidentally gave me a ordinary Lumos wand without telling me, I had asked them for a draco Lumos deluxe which didn't exist, literally one person saying that would've avoided me needing to go back and exchange it for an actual Lumos deluxe wand (of course the one that ended up breaking). I will say my replica wand is of excellent build quality and durability. I will be updating this tomorrow after my experience getting it refunded.I forgot to update this, they refunded right away no hassle, asked if I wanted another but I declined and got my refund in my bank account a few hours later.
