Bev Crisp: Out with our sewing crew and the wonderful people at Bugqeeds fabric recommended this lovely vintage teashop. Catering for most needs at short notice they accommodated 9 hungry sewers. The food is all homemade, a food selection of tea , coffee and soft drinks which perfectly accompanied a delicious selection of treats - amazing cakes. Our experience was second to none from the welcome we received to the delicious afternoon tea we were presented with. My friend had the gluten free option and for once, she felt catered for with such a thoughtful menu. I had an afternoon tea in Bettys a few months ago and I can honestly say the food, atmosphere and the team at Cakes d'Licious was far more enjoyable. Thankyou. We will be back

Damian Bootland: Lovely little independent cafe, great staff, fantastic food and great value. We just called in this Sunday morning to try it ok, best full English breakfast I've had in years, and Vicky loved the eggs Benedict from the specials board. Took some cakes away for later and the heart shaped victoria sponges were as excellent as everything else. Will now be a weekly trip.
Kiss István: Great little coffee shop. Drove past it many times but never stopped there before. Lovely service, nice coffee and cakes. Food looked really good too, definitely will go back for a breakfast at some point.Kid-friendliness: We had two toddler with us, but they were well looked after and catered for too. Thanks!
Val Ball: We contacted Love to Eat about a buffet for a large family event. After viewing the varied menu on offer we spoke with Fiona who was more than happy to adapt the menu to suit our requirements. The food was delivered on the morning of our event, freshly made and well presented. Everyone commented on both the variety on offer and how delicious everything was. Fiona couldn’t of been more helpful and we thank her and her team for everything they did. We would highly recommend Love to Eat.

Anyway, it was delicious, a lovely assortment of fresh sandwiches, mini quiche, sausage roll, prawn cocktail, pastries and cakes, including scone with jam and clotted cream plus pots of tea. A quality afternoon tea, and a lovely place to take friends to.

Reetha Francis: Nice place to sit and chat or do a little work. They have got great view of the town. Quick service too. Just one staff was not really interested in service but you know everyone has bad days. Apart from that great place to go grab a cuppa hot chocolate. Me and my sister had a sit for 30 minutes, had hot cup of hot chocolate, made plan for the day. The place has good interior with warm lighting. As we were in there, small groups of people came in and went , where I noticed that people love to sit in there to have a good quick chat and share a drink. I love the atmosphere there, it’s very cosy especially on rainy days.We tried the;1. white hot chocolate: highly recommended but order it without the chocolate cream2. Salted caramel hot chocolate: absolutely loved it. Order with the chocolate cream3. Classic hot chocolate: I think it’s over rated. My least favorite of them, I had to add sugar, it almost had no taste.Restrooms were a bit of an issue. They’re not very clean, and the lights are too dim for a restroom.Prices are somewhat OK. Not cheap yet not too expensive. Always go for the Large size rather than the regular one.Kid-friendliness: The staff adjusts to literally any requests made for children.

Joseph Newman: It’s a nice, nowhere near Ivy London, Manchester, or Leeds. It’s a very toned down version with, for example, a coat stand rather than a wardrobe or cloak room. Service is the same for every guest, courteous but standardised, and the food and drink selection is reasonable. On this visit there was a full range, which was great compared to last time. Overall, a good visit, and nice staff, food, and drinks.
Donna Drakeford: First time visit for me. The decor was lovely and the service was excellent. The vegetarian choices were a little basic, so as I am pescatarian, I chose fish & chips. My husband had Shepherds pie, and we all had arranchini balls to start with. My daughter had the same mains as me.The arranchini balls were nice but would have been better served with a sauce as they were a little dry.The fish & chips were nice, as was the Shepherds pie. The Creme brulee was lovely, as was the chocolate bomb.Presentation was good, and my daughters peanut allergy was handled well.It is a very noisy, busy restaurant. The price was average for these days in a nice restaurant. All in all a pleasant lunch. If I was in the area I might call in for breakfast as my husband says it is very good, and the cappucino was excellent.
Craig Bond: Called in on the off chance we could get a table without reservation on a busy Saturday lunchtime and the front on house staff happily accommodated our custom to show us to our table. Once seated the service was very good. The only slight negative feedback I could give is that we were charged £4.95 for a bottle of table water offered to use by the waiter. Though at no point did we get informed this would be chargeable. Irrespective of this small detail it didn't dampen our experience and would happily return to The Ivy in York.

Mista T: Booked a table here during our visit to York.The restaurant is pretty funky inside and the staff were polite, friendly and attentive.The adult meals were absolutely fantastic, genuinely fresh, tasty grub! The rosemary fries were awesome!We took advantage of the "Kids eat free" promotion. While the fish goujons were great, the burger was pretty disappointing. I know it was free, but it was pretty overcooked and dry. The wee fella ended up just eating some of the bun and chips. Didn't want to make an issue as it was free, but maybe one to avoid on the kids menu if visiting. The dessert more than made up for it though, with both kids demolishing the delicious ice cream!All in all, it was a very pleasant meal out at averyvreasonable price. Laura Morgan-Watson: Have been a big lover of Bill’s since I first went to one in 2014, sadly the quality of food has slightly gone down since then but on this occasion I really enjoyed my food. I had the ‘nduja & burrata meatballs…they were delicious and I also had a Rosè spritz which was refreshing and not too bitter. The other diners I was with had mixed reviews…chicken burger a little dry and the beef burger not as good as previous times. I cannot fault the service though and I also like the option of splitting the bill when you scan the QR code. Overall, 4* as I enjoyed my food and it was a nice lunch 😊
Alex Elliott: Great service. Friendly staff, food was good, fast and only lost a star due to the fries not being hot and not being rosemary and red onion salted as advertised. Had the vegan “dirty” burger which was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had and the kids loved their food. My 6 year old said that he rated it “infinity out of infinity” which says it all really.Vegetarian options: Dirty vegan burger and a few other really good vegan/vegetarian options
