Little Arras: what do users think?

lutumlux: As a new regular in York I can now recommend this too anyone whom be visiting or living here. After hundreds of cookies along with the occasional ciabatta I can now confidently say the food is consistent along with all the staff that will give you a warm energy on arrival from either directly greeting if not so busy or the feels from how you can see the atmosphere is in the bakery with happy customers drinking up the caffeine and eating the goodness. Also perfect for grabbing and going if you want to eat outside since located so close to things like the Minster.

Natalia Debowska: I have been buying breads and pastries from Little Arras since it first opened. The bakes are always delicious, of the best quality, one of my favourites are the croissants,so flaky and buttery. But today chocolate, pear and ginger muffin exceeded my expectations. It was very chocolatey, super moist with ginger coming through, and fresh pear sliced baked in. Topped with mouse-like cream and dried piece of fruit covered in dark chocolate. The best muffin I've ever had in my life! 11 out of 10!

Jasmine McMahon: . Also bought a seeded sourdough to take home and it tastes amazing! 10000% recommend. I think this may be my new favourite coffee spot in York

Despina: A lovely bakery in York city centre 😍 such a range of selection, my partner and I went for the curried chicken pie and the sausage and black pudding roll. Definitely recommend!!Absolutely delicious and value for money. Coffee was great too. Wanted to try some sweet treats but we were too full! Next time though for sure. Friendly service and a lovely atmosphere 🙂

Brew & Brownie: what do users think?

Annie Wu: We have been to Brew&Brownie 2 days in a row, queue for 10-15mins to get the table, even my kid said it's worth the wait, that's how good they are. Fresh ingredients, perfectly done coffee, every dish and drink was spot on. I like the special French toast very much! Highly recommend if you are visiting York, great location in central town. Kids friendly and helpful staff. Definitely will visit again next time when we travel in York.

Sam: We have really loved visiting brew and brownie time and again., especially after Eid as I wanted the first breakfast after a month to be special. The staff make this a wonderful experience with the smile on their face, which shows how truly they enjoy what they do.The food is organic and fresh, and the portions were filling to the point where we felt that lunch was not necessary while on our 6 mile hike in NidderdaleI wish they did some halal options in the future like Turkey bacon and beef sausages which would make me want to go there more often.

Ann: We were a group of 4 and it took us around an hour to be seated, which isn’t bad considering how long the queue was when we went here during the Easter hols. The eggs royale and avocado toast were good but nothing substantial. I’d recommend getting the apple pancakes as they were the best dish we got.

Ferhat Yarkın: Ordered long black, oat flat white, and a cake here. Coffee was delicious but no need to wait for the coffee as there are places around with similar level of coffee. Couldn’t finish the cake as it simply didn’t fit my taste.

Marios Ilias Givannakis: Just perfect.Polite and quick service. Very delicious food. You have to try it!Vegetarian options: Veg roll

Emma Precious: My go to place for the best pancakes ever.Other menu options are delicious too, however I am partial to an American pancake stack.Mix it up a bit with seasonal specials. They do the best hot chocolate in town, I love my hot chocolate extra hot and they never disappoint.Always a pleasure to visit here.

The Pig and Pastry: what do users think?

Matthew Garcia: Wow! Absolutely stellar experience. Not even sure how I found it but I’m so glad Google brought me here. So much to say as everything was memorable and special. Located in a cute little village south of the river, it’s in one of lovely parts of town where every shop you need is available and it has a real community feel. The restaurant itself seems to be an institution and reminds you of what makes a cafe great. Locals who care about what they make and sell. The inside is decorated with some great stuff, which adds to the charm. The chef/owner was cooking up amazing meals and the front staff were friendly and made the experience even better. Since it was late March, I had to go with the seasonal asparagus benedict, which huge spears and tasty greens over delicious sourdough toast. From start to finish, this was one of the better breakfasts I’ve had anywhere in the world.

PrometheusZero: Bishy road has a wonderful vibe and this is a great little cafe there. I had a coffee and a toasted sandwich while sat in the outside terrace enjoying a bright Spring morning. The service staff are great and attentive. They suggest options and repeat your order back to you, a simple thing that so many places skip that makes sure your order will be correct.Coffee came very quickly and the toasted sandwich was prompt. The coffee was very nice, rich and velvety without being cloying. The toasted Reuben has the right mix of sharpness and roundness of flavour.Would defo come here again.

Grant Inglis: Had a coffee and a sausage roll excellent

MADDOGLEP: Jorvic Googled "best breakfast near me" and this came up. Paulicarus says it was an inspired decision. Both had the meaty full English. Easily one of the best ever and maybe the best. They use local farm suppliers. Excellent sausage, bacon, black pudding, eggs and toast. Throw in beans, tomato and mushroom for £11. Non stop trade on our visit. Super taste in 60' and 70' music! A cosy place. Hope to be back soon.

Martin Williams: A wonderful independent and ethical cafe with lovely breakfast/brunch.

Bluebird Bakery: what do users think?

S: The cinnamon bun was utterly unctuous. The balanced cinnamon sugar felt like a warm hug on a rainy day in York.I took a bite, brought it up Cliffords Tower, onto a train, into the fridge overnight, then into the oven the next day, and it was still fabulous! If you do heat it up, I recommend covering it so the cinnamon doesnt burn, else it develops a fennel like flavor.

Antariksh Saxena: The sourdough bread at this bakery is simply outstanding. Its crust is wonderfully crispy, and the interior has that perfect balance of tanginess and chewiness. As for the savory Danish, it's a delightful treat with a flaky pastry and a savory filling that bursts with pesto flavor. A must-try for bread and pastry lovers!

Deon Nel: Tight space but good scones.

lisamarie secker-mckinney: omg we found your bakery in York two weeks ago and we haven't stopped talking about it since! the savouries and cakes were hands down the best we have tried and our vegan teen approved too! We bought 5 savouries and 5 desserts and the hungry teens appetites were satisfied. everyone needs to try bluebird bakery ❤️ the mckinneys, Warrington.

Nick Luton: Savoury Danish deserves all 5 stars. Weighty, delicious had to grab one early as I watched the pile shrink! Would post a pic but I ate it before I thought about it.

J M: Great focaccia, and some other very good bakes - definitely worth a visit.

Jean Pierre Tetrel: We bought a cereal bread which has nothing to envy of our good French bread. A delight !

David Thompson: Have used this bakery since it opened, bread is superb and always something on the specials to temp you with!Tried a new Italian style sourdough today and it was fantastic, very light with a nice chewy crust😋Focaccia with sea salt and rosemary is also one not to miss!

Pooja Chaudhary: If I could give 5 more stars to this bakery, I would. This is a small, takeaway only shop in one of the Shambles lanes. We got their five spice roll and the spinach chickpea roll — and both were absolutely outstanding even cold! The flavors are so absolutely on point and so delicious that we will be going back tomorrow before our train back to London to pick some more up to take home!

Josh Brailsford: I visited York today for the first time in ages, and I must return soon if only to revisit Bluebird Bakery. I popped in this afternoon for something sweet, and came away with a Honey & Spelt Cake. Sadly I can share no evidence of this with you as it disappeared rather quickly! I cannot recommend them enough - delicious!

Neill Horie: Fantastic bread, particularly recommend the seeded sourdough and the brownies.

M: Fantastic baked goods!! It’s not a sit down cafe or restaurant but definitely go in and get some bread and pastries. The best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had, such flavorful dough. The rosemary and sea salt focaccia is great. They have great pastries you just need to get them before they sell out.

Halit Sencan: It was truly incredible. Low amount of reviews because it’s not too visible, but the sweets were fresh and amazing. Must try the spelt cake!

Emelda Tan: Bought the 7 seeded sourdough bread and it was just the right amount of consistency.
