YHA York Hostel: what do users think?

Nicolas Owen: Nice modern YHA, close to the centre of York. Very good facilities, although the members kitchen is much too small considering the size of the hostel. Food is reasonable but not as inexpensive as it used to be, didn't compare with York centre itself. Lovely big lounge, dining area.Nearby activities: You are very close to York!Walkability: 15-20 minutes from the walls of York, via a lovely riverside path.Food & drinks: Food is reasonable but not as cheap as it used to be. Main meals from £9-15, Breakfast £9.95

Vimala D: This is the first time I booked a YHA hostel with a couple of doubles in mind but the hostel was so good, clean and the staff are so friendly.I booked a hostel for 4 people , we got 1 room with 4 bunk beds, The beds are so clean with fresh sheets, The room is very clean. We had a shared washroom and it was clean all the time, there were plenty of washrooms. The kitchen is clean and there are plenty of plates and utensils to cook. Big living room to relax. I highly recommend visiting YHA York hostel you won't regret it. Reasonable prices are a bonus on top. It's walking distance to town, we parked the couple at the hostel and we walked to the town, so not to get worried about parking at the busy town centre.

helen lomas: Great value stay. Clean, well organised, everything you'd need, except a suggestion box 😉 I stayed in the dorm room and being honest, it was one of the worst nights sleep ever. The doors are heavy and loud, the floorboards are extremely loud and creaky and the pipes were noisy too. Also because of the material on the beds , you can hear every turn and roll someone makes. I will probably look at a private room next time. I used the self catering kitchen which was lovely and clean. I also ordered food, vegan chilli, and although very tasty, the portion was incredibly small for a whopping £10! Staff were lovely though and I will continue to support the charity and revisit.

Joel Wylie: Stayed before Christmas with my partner and it was brilliant!Incredible staff who were very welcoming, helpful and cheerful. The hostel was immaculate from the room to the shared spaces. The location a lovely walk into town by the river, past the shops or a very short bus ride.Shout out to the amazing team who made our stay wonderful!

Bren Jenks: Love this cafe.Service: 5/5 …

Student Castle Short Stay: what do users think?

Adarsh Srekanth: Location is perfect, it’s literally inside the city centerTons of events hosted, and a nice communal area with games n stuff if you’re into the social side or wanna get out of your comfort zoneThe price you pay for the location and amenities is unbeatable in my opinion, I did my research and the best option I came to was student castleIf you do yours, you’ll probably see it the same as I did

Khyati Patel: , parcel collection and room maintenance even when you're not in, clean and quiet room with plenty of storage. Would definitely recommend! As long as you're willing to pay for laundry and be a bit further from campus, it's great

Ben Williamson: and would happily stay here again next year :

Isabella Sullivan: I have had a really good experience living here this year. The accommodation is lovely and the reception is super helpful and friendly. The ensuite bathrooms are also amazing. There is a good amount of storage space in the room, including a roomy cupboard where I can fit all of my clothes.

NIRANJAN POTE: Best in service and great staff !

Boas Andreasen: Generally pretty good. Gym has good equipment, rentable bikes are well maintaned, rooms are functional but small. Minus one star for using circuit laundry and because I wish there was better sound proofing between rooms.

Lucy Elmendorf: arrive.

Lorenza Schwarz: Really love living here, staff are very friendly and on it when sorting out issues. Calm and enjoyable environment to live in.

Nancy Corke: Great student accommodation, staff are friendly also

BAO zzz: I spent all three of my undergraduate years here, a place full of memories!

Animated Science: Great place for students. Rooms small and compact but nice and well sorted.

The Racecourse Centre: what do users think?

Platypus 3.14: Good accommodation for residential school trips.

William Johnston: I was really surprised at just how good this was. If you are staying in York with a young family or for business, I would recommend it.

David Todd: If you're looking for cheap accommodation this is your place from £35 a night, Fox and Roman pub over the road for your food, fish and chips or Chinese also on this road and Cross Keys pub 2 minutes walk away.

Barrybaxby Baxby: Great place to stay. Nice friendly staff..food always good.

Autonomy Gene: I took a school trip here for a residential. All the kids said it was very nice... Comfortable and good facilities. This place is great for wheelchair access and anyone with mobility issues. It's easy to miss so drive slowly on approach and look for a red and white barrier to the entrance as it's set back from the main road.A Warning to coach/hgv drivers. It's very tight in parts so please take care. It is a one way loop but if your concerned of making the left turn back through the gates there is room to turn around. I had room with my 42ft coach.

Brian Heckles: Stayes overnight here. Beds comfy. Staff very pleasant and helpful

Corina Pickering: and they have TVs! Location isn't central but it's a lot cheaper than the centre. And it can be nice to be out of the busy centre and within the fields of the racecourse. The staff are amazing too :

Rita Jen: Good value for the money paid

Graham Mash: Nice, clean and decent food

Kiwi: This was great loved it here

Ben Sowter: Excellent... as hostels go. Great breakfast.
