Lost Earth Adventures: what do users think?
Adrian Dawson: Had such a fun time exploring horizontal slits, floods, and squeezes with Mark! Learned so much about maneuvering around caves - can't wait to try a vertical descent next!
Michael Lester: Had a great time going down P8. Richard was a great guide and made my birthday a banger!
Albert Hewetson: This was a really fun day! Our instructor was really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We got to spend a good few hours in the water and there were loads of great slides and jumps - would recommend!
Carl Martin: These guys are excellent; I've used them for two caving trips. Outstanding from the first enquiry to the end of the day!
Greg Hollingsworth: Excellent guiding up Ben Nevis - guided on less steep stretches that were more picturesque and faster! Recommended.
Caughley Harris: Our team of 16 climbed Ben Nevis this weekend with the help of the amazing guides at Lost Earth Adventures. From the point of booking, dealing with the admin team, right up until the end of the trek, when they reached the bottom, everyone was helpful, professional and so supportive on the day especially. The whole team could not have done it without them and are so grateful for their help, encouragement and expertise. We would highly recommend booking them for your next adventure.
JK Lo: Absolutely fabulous! Me and my sister went 'Gorge Walking' in Nidderdale during the never ending heatwave and it could not have been more perfect. Our guide was absolutely fabulous - knowledgeable and reassuring and chilled. Our group was all lovely and we all instantly glued together despite not knowing each other. There was the perfect balance of chill and challenge. Thoroughly recommend this for those who love nature and also adventure! Just glorious. I also recommend buying a waterproof phone case to capture the day-I was dubious but got mine from 'drybags' and not only did it survive but I captured the afternoon perfectly!
TY Kan: Our group of 4 had the best time canyoning with instructor Paul at upper Beezley falls. It was full of scrambling, jumps and slides and is a great thrill even for the most adventurous. At the same time there was plenty of flexibility if jumps from great height isn't your thing. Paul was patient and attentive, really focusing on it being our experience and our day so had plenty of time to do same jumps multiple times if desired. Gear provided by Lost Earth Adventures was also of great quality and kept us warm through the trip. Thanks for a great canyoning experience!
Ty Armario: Superb Experience from Start to Finish - even with x2 Teenagers!I booked a 3 hr beginner session for myself and 2 teenage Sons - very last minute! The team were responsive and helpful from the get-go, and I was booked in really easily. On the day, Will met us, as agreed, provided us with all the gear and we then had an absolute ball of a time!Don't get me wrong, I realised I might not have been the fittest person in the world during it all - but Will tailored our session to our abilities, was mega friendly, knowledgable and helpful.I could not recommend this experience high enough! If you've doubts - put them to one side - you won't regret it!
Harry Ferdinando: Perfect adventure. My partner and I had an amazing day climbing, caving and gorge walking in Nidderdale (MAD 5). Our guide Richard was fantastic, he was knowledgeable and made us both feel safe and supported doing activities that we had never tried before. We would definitely recommend and would definitely book with Lost Earth Adventures again.
Sara Bond: Myself and my 7 year old had a fabulous morning with our instructor, Henry, yesterday, rock climbing and abseiling at Brimham Rocks, Yorkshire.Henry was so professional, encouraging and friendly... and was fantastic with my daughter... he kept the entire morning fun, motivating and informative.Huge huge thanks to him and to the team for organising this.
Jacquie McGuire: I am the Regional Fundraiser for Parkinson's UK and have held two charity Abseils in my region this year. On both occasions the on the day instructors, Ben and Matt, have been amazing. Highly professional and excellent instructors. At both Abseils every single person completed the challenge even though several were very nervous. The skill and patience of Ben and Matt clearly gave all participants the confidence to fulfil the challenge. Jacquie McGuire
Diane Jeavons: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
abbie crookes 84: Yesterday myself and a friend were on a private tour with Graham. What an amazing day and experience. We did caving and climbung, I would definitely recommend this day however its not for the faint hearted, that said throughout the day Graham was amazing. All the way through he was constantly assessing our capabilities and tailored the day to suit our needs and abilities. We had both climbed before and wasn't too afraid of what lay ahead so he made the day more adventuras to suit. We had such a brilliant day and I honestly cannot recommend it enough. Thankyou so much Graham and lost earth adventure for providing this amazing opportunity and to Graham for helping me up that God dam ladder when I thought I couldn't do it. It was brilliant 👍👍👌👌Service:Private tours
Melissa Street: I've done quite a few things with Lost Earth adventures now and cannot reccomend them enough! They are extremely good at what they do. Professional, organised and friendly. All the instructors I've met have been amazing and gone beyond there position to make the adventures even more exciting/enjoyable and they offer so many different experiences, each one is as good as the last one in different ways.Yes, I'm booking again for the 4th time!!! Let's go.Services:Private tours,Group tours
Charlie Kirkpatrick: Just dropped by Lost Earth Adventures today, met Matt who was extremely informative and friendly and helped me find many options for my next travels. Top guy 👍
Jan Bradley: Booked a days caving experience 18th Nov 2017 at Alum pot for myself and partner as his xmas gift last year .This was our first time potholing and caving ..(.im scared of heights and confined spaces..).but the whole experience was amazing .Our instructor Ian and his partner were brilliant and put me at ease from the word go.I felt completely safe at all times. My partner also enjoyed every minute . We cannot praise the Instructors enough for making us smile throughout. I would also like to thank the admin staff for accommodating the short notice booking and being so helpful.Would definitely recommend ..even to complete novices..the sights are well worth it ..loved the whole day.Thankyou so much :-)
Natasha Brooker: I highly recommend Lost Earth Adventures - who organised our Google Legal 50km walk for charity in the Yorkshire Dales. There were 14 hikers. We had an amazing time and it wouldn't have been possible without all the help and support of Lost Earth. The route was fabulous - and everyone enjoyed the different terrains and even Pen-y-Ghent! :)A big thank you to Richard, Tom, Sarah and Will - during the planning stages (I counted over 90 emails back and fourth!) and a special thank you to Gareth, Matt & Paul who guided us with directions and great conversation! Loads of fun and a great company to work with! Until next time...
Fletcher Tully: Did some Ghyll Scrambling with Gareth and Jonny as our guides in the Peak District, UK. The guys were very professional and friendly. Had a great time. Thoroughly recommend it
Michael Pearce: Had a great time! The instructors were Informative, understanding and fun. Fantastic tracks, and a few to choose from.
David Leitch: Great day Mountain Biking in the Peak district, Richard and team were great in helping us all get round a challenging but fun course as part of a team away day. Thanks again guys, much appreciated. Recommended.

City Cruises - Lendal Bridge Landing: what do users think?
Ben jose Kuriakose: Self drive boats was a really nice experience
朱台深: 走累了~這是參觀[York]毫不費力的遊覽行程,船上有貼心的導覽解說~可以輕鬆地認識[York]。
Simon Benton: Went on a York afternoon cruise, was really nice and relaxing.
Ali Davies: We really enjoyed our cruise. We got lucky and had a beautiful sunny day for it during the Easter holidays!Interesting commentary and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The bristar: Absolute waste of time and money. Nothing to see, and the voice of the commentary is so affected and annoying. Do the city bus tour instead.
Terence Scallon: Fantastic place and the children enjoy the father Christmas cruise, loads to do and see and be entertained
Nathan Troon: This was such a good experience that I'd recommend for anyone who is in the city! The 1 hour tour guided cruise we had from lendal bridge was such great value for money! £35 for a family of 4.Stew, our captain and tour guide was so funny and informative!, he was great!
Michael Alex: Great value for money, felt very safe and a had a very charismatic Captain.I would suggest sitting close to the speakers if on the Sightseeing trip, as it was rather quiet at parts.
Ian Lomax: Lovely relaxing trip along the river. Interesting commentary from the crew which was clearly heard. We were lucky to have a lovely summers day. Would definitely recommend this if you have an hour to spare. Turn up a little early if you want the best views as seats are first come first served.
Thomas McEwan: Quite pricey for what you get but it's not a bad way to spend an hour on a sunny day. Some decent views of the city centre and alot of talk about bridges (if that's your thing) some great information about local stories and pieces of history.
Jeffery Leuschner: We did this one because we had time to spare. Not too much to see here. Would not recommend if you have other stuff to do.But if killing time it’s ok
Diane Mackrill: Highly recommend a trip with these guys. Informative, humorous as well as interesting and would happily go again.
Rejaul Karim: Loved the cruise. Very informative and chilled out cruise. Various drinks available to buy on board.
Giovanni Turone: Nice and clear explainations
Richard Ellis Hawley (Rickymuso1975): Absolutely awesome loved being back on the boat after so many years
Mark Masters: Excellent river cruise and personal commentary by the captain (sorry forgot your name!!). Would recommend without hesitation.
Hendrik Embrechts: The boots are not confortable.
patrick eospaddy: Boats are blue not red,, self hire ones !Engine a little noisey once inside but doesn't take away the fun,U get to go through 4 bridges and back again then on to two more bridges before returning,,U can't smoke but who would notice if u did,, u have to book it online .All in all worth the 35 pound paid, roughly one hour.
Kevin Martin: Dont go in this, total waste of time. Go down stream what a mile them come back go inthe opposite direction then back. Safe your £12.50 for something, anything, else
patricia densley: Thoroughly enjoyed this cruise along the Ouse. Certainly worth the money for the one hour cruise. The commentary was very clear and informative too
Me Me: Boat trip this lunch time, ok if you just want a quick trip, can't say I was particularly impressed

ian LOWTHER: Even on a dark wet winter day this place was great to visit. If I was more into swimming I would love this place. Great for families with children that need wearing out. Good for triathletes and events. Food was great also. Well thought out.
Nicola Lodge: Always friendly staff, cheap day out, watersports, walks, playparks, camping, paddling area and a cafe with lovely food, drinks and cakes. What's not to love and right on the doorstep

Merchant Adventurers' Hall: what do users think?
Teresa Smith: Wonderful. Lots to see. Great cafe.
Brian Cross: A very interesting place with useful information on the building, and its use.A lot of information is in a guide on loan from the reception desk, and more available throughout the building. Access is either via stairs at the front, or via a lower level at the rear.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …More
Rosalie Williams: Visited on Weekend Wait time No waitMore
Jessica Warburton-White: This place had been on our to visit list for a while, so it was great to finally go!The space is interesting and the audio guide is very informative. There are also plenty of info boards if the audio guide isn't for you.We enjoyed our visit here and learning more about the history of the space and the people who own it.Our one tip would be to check the opening time, as a few people did try to get in as we were leaving after they had closed.
Rachael M: Visited on Weekday Wait time No waitMore
rebekah odutola: Beautiful building and incredible history to be immersed in. I appreciated the information given in a booklet at the beginning of the tour. However, I also got a leaflet and was intrigued why Mary Tuke was called infamous, it seems quite a negative connotation when she seemed quite a formidable and successful woman. I would have liked to have seen more about how women were involved, even if indirectly. However, overall a great and recommendable attraction.
David Randle: Visited on WeekendMore
蔡子慧: 整個建築的參觀路線不長,2個小時內可以結束。因為是商會的建物,跟其他景點不同,這裡可以從商業面來了解約克。
david fernley: Wow!
David Powell: Great venue, and the staff were friendly and efficient.
Joshua Beresford: For that sobering, squeaky floorboard feel of medieval authenticity... look no further. My son got married here and the backdrop added to the memorable and photogenic experience.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …More
Maureen Ralph: Reservation recommended NoMore
Tracy Williams: Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sureMore
Martin King: Nice little visit. Some of the staff however could be asked to take their happy medicines, one particularly OCD.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More
Lindsay Donald: Extraordinary survival from our medieval past resonating the power of the merchants and guilds in the life and wealth of the community....their philanthropic role too, with hospital, almshouses and chapel.
Kim Morgan: Beautiful building!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More
Samantha Nicholson: We came to this beautiful venue for our son and daughter in laws wedding. It is such a beautiful building with lots to see. As a wedding venue though, it could have been much better! The biggest issue was the venue running out of drinks quite a while before the end of the night. They even ran out of Coca Cola and Pepsi Max!! It wasn’t as if people were drinking a lot, the venue was just unprepared. (Especially for the money the venue cost them) Prices charged for drinks that they did have were well above average. All drinks were served from bottles on tables.not a very professional set up!! The other thing that could have made the ceremony area better would but to have screen partitioning to separate it off from the dinning area.
Emilio F: The cafe is simply lovely and the coffee is great. Perfect atmosphere and very friendly staff.
Jan Conway: Good for a pit stop or for an historical visitVisited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More
Rich B: Amazing, early medieval guild hall. It is beautifully preserved with a glorious beamed roof and undercroft. It is the largest outside of London and vies with the Minster as the best building in York. A nice little cafe too and it is right next to the drop off for the Grimston Bar park and ride.Well worth a visit.

Yearsley Swimming Pool: what do users think?
TRIPL3DADDY.: My son swims here with his school, says the pool is sometimes cooler than they would like, but overall a good swimming pool
Irene Forsyth: Loving the Aquafit classes!
john barnes-tee: Always helpfull staff and never any problems with our sessions great asset to our kayak club.
Pete S: Very long pool
Barry Greenaway: Well run and staff very friendly
Sarah Lee: We go here a lot. It's a full size pool which is quite rare. They do lane swimming and swim for all and family fun swims on a weekend. They also do aqua aerobics twice a week and swimming lessons and club stuff. Loads going on. It's an old building/pool with some great heritage and historic links to the city and it's workers/people. The pool and building are well looked after and are clean and the changing areas/showers/toilets are clean. You can book online and I think you can turn up and pay, if there are spaces. The staff are good. There are vending machines in the lobby for hot and cold drinks and snacks. There is enough parking at the venue but the car park is really tight with little space between the 2 rows and the spaces are tight.
Chris Turner: Best pool in York for squad training
Nick Case: Yearsley pool is simply the best pool around. Tried all the modern pools at Energise and the new one at the stadium and Yearsley has by far the best ambience. The old style changing booths just work, the place feels open and stress free. Awesome facility, how many 50yrd pools are there left!?
Herjan Velding: Nice big pool. 50 yards long. Showers are nice and hot. Lockers require 20p coin.Great for lane swimming or family swimming. No slides.Water temperature ok, but the water itself wasn't particularly clean. Lots of clumps of hair on the bottom. The rest of the pool side is well maintained though with plenty of individual changing cubes as well as family charging cubes, all split by gender. Plenty of life guards.Be nice if they had a couple of centrifuges to spin trunks / swimming costumes dry, which is quite common for swimming pools. There is seating upstairs for parents to watch their kids and 2 vending machines with drinks and snacks in reception.Places for lane swimming etc. need to be booked online or via the Better app.Free parking for customers and some parking reserved for Blue badge.Overall a good pool (although old) and one of the few pools longer than 25m.
erica fletcher: Nice n clean
Martin Reilly: Unhappy to see the £1 returnable lockers replaced with keep your 20p locker. Appreciate they need to get revenue but how do you get a 20p these days? Also adds up for a regular swimmer. They are cashless so no way to get a ready supply of 20p coins if you swim 4 days a week.
Amy Carlin: Staff always really friendly and the water is the perfect temperature.Would definitely recommend
April Gamble: I go to aqua fit on a Friday it's spotless. the staff are great .
Emotive Piano: Quaint changing facilities, gender segregated, made me feel like a horse in a stable (why are the doors not full height?) But a BIG pool for a good swim, not crowded, booking process easy, just the thing for our visit to York in the hot weather.
義人啟迪: The first 50yards swimming pool I swam in UK😅
lucy hurn: I'm a triathlete, and up to now swimming has been a necessary part of the training mix but not much more, but since I found Yearsley swimming pool, it is honestly one of the highlights of my week. The pool is large (50 yards) and is (usually) split into 3 wide lanes, which gets rid of all the agro - its easy to over take/ be overtaken so there's no stressing about what pace you or others are doing. It's really bright and airy and the light dapples on the bottom of the pool as if you're swimming outside. The staff are all friendly and helpful, its well maintained and cleaned, it's clearly well valued and used by so many and there's a wide variety of people who go, from breast stroke chatters to competitive athletes and everyone in between and there's a generally friendly atmosphere between everyone. Thanks so much for this gem!
anne white: Fabulous pool. Clean and well looked after. Staff are friendly but also professional.
Lucy Brown: This is a lovely pool, we play octopush (underwater hockey) here every Saturday from 3-4 pm. New players are always welcome! Find us on Facebook - York Octopush. This pool is a glorious 50 yards lengths long and has a beautiful old fashioned designs. It is never very busy and great place to come for uninterrupted lengths!
Jąʍҽʂ: A lovely pool, straight forward, calm and a great place to exercise. The online booking can be quite fickle however.
Lisa Machin: Great 'old style' pool, with easy access via bus number's 1, 5, or 5a. Wheelchair friendly entrance. Separated changing cubicles for gender options, which are accessible on the side of the pool. Hairdryer's available too.
Marjolein Admiraal: Nice pool, not too busy and very accessible.
