Museum Gardens: what do users think?

Dan Bradley: Ruins in a garden

Joshua Fagan: Vibrant and luscious garden surrounding an elegant museum! When the plants are dewy and damp, and the sunlight hits them in the early morning, the effect is absolutely otherworldly. I came here in the soft slanting sunlight before a long day of adventuring throughout York. I believe that this place should be experienced in such a way: as a calm and nourishing interlude between exhilarating and wild chapters of life, whether other parts of a trip, or simply the chaos of the everyday world. The life force of spring seems to flow through all of these damp and shining plants, from two laps to daffodils to even elegant sakura trees.

Emilia Punton: I love this Park... it's clean and diversity❤️❤️❤️

AC M: Delightful.

Breezy Knees Gardens: what do users think?

Matt Sables: The guys here have done an amazing job. Beautiful gardens

Lynn Tune: Lovely gardens to walk around, with different areas of interest.Would definitely recommend.Toilet facilities, cafe and garden aswell.

Hannah Dickinson: Really beautiful gardens, we spent about an hour and a half walking through. Lots of benches to sit and enjoy the views, and there’s such a huge variety of flowers and plants! We visited mid August and so much of the garden was in bloom. Nice little cafe on site too for a coffee. Would love to visit again!

T at Fletch: This must be the best time to visit, abundant floral displays that go on and on, gr8 Yorkshire Rose Fountain. Interesting Nursery and lovli Cafe

James Fletcher: A six star garden! Very impressed. Visited in August and there were hardly any plants not in flower! Quite an achievement for a garden.

Margaret “Maggs” POTTAGE: On a whim we decided to visit Breezy Knees last week. Went here in 2005 when it was just a small public nursery selling perennials.Oh my goodness, what a surprise. It has been transformed into the most beautiful garden. There is a detailed map showing all of the 15 gardens which, if you follow their map, you will see everything. Shrubs in their hundreds, stunning crafted hedges and, not forgetting the little hidden animals. At the end of the walk you will find a very nice cafe. I almost forgot the beautiful water feature in the middle. It is a jewel. One not to be missed. We spent a relaxing 4 hours just wandering and marvelling at the amount of work and planning to create this haven.

Richard Field: Lovely place to visit and have a walk around. Lots of flowers and birds to see. Really nice coffee shop onsite and all the staff very friendly and inviting. Well worth a visit

Dave H: was any sightings of wildlife and/or birds although apparently the badgers are being blamed for damaging the grass hunting for insects

Mr M: Words & the photos can’t explain how beautiful the garden is. You must visit and see, feel and live the beauty of the Garden. Every inch of the garden is beautiful.

Jane Archer: Lovely place. Great to find somewhere so accessible. All the flowering plants easily identifiable. Amazing to think it's only 22 years old, everything looks to be so well established.

Lynne Barkas: Despite it being mid-September there was still so much to enjoy including a 'September' garden full of interest and autumnal colour. Liked the themed 'rooms' of different aspects of gardening such as the area with many conifers and associated species. Visited Barnsdale earlier in the year which has a similar layout but not as well done as Breezy Knees. Loved the humourous touches in signage and oversized sculptures.

Elisa Winstanley: A wonderful sunny day spent at the gardens today! It was lovely and serene! Plenty of gardens to meander in! We can appreciate the effort put in by the gardeners to keep the gardens looking good! Some of the flowers in bloom were absolutely beautiful, especially the dahlias. They were stunning!!

Paul Rhodes: From the warm welcome to the ever changing garden displays, food and drink on the terrace, and games in the summer, this is a great space to while away an hour or two.

John Mowbray: Nice house, lovely gardensVisited on Weekend Wait time No wait …

Jade Denham: Such a beautiful place and such lovely staff 😁 happy to deliever here

GRAHAM BARLOW: . Currently, only the garden is open to the public and only at the weekends now until the end of October, when the property closes until March 2024. Nevertheless, it is well worth the visit. Accessible with plenty to explore or just sit and absorb the tranquility. Because of the mild weather the autumn colours weren't evident yet, so a later visit may be advisable. Certainly a garden to visit throughout the year

Chris Welland: Had a lovely walk around the gardens, but shame house is not to public. Apparently, due to staffing problems and the cost of repairs, I think there are some bad management problems within the national trust where money is being wasted with several staff still working from home when what is needed is staff on site to assist and help and advice and maintain these properties same with any business money wasted on those doing the least shame on you National Trust !!

Alan Hudson: Small grounds compared to other N.T. places. No parking at venue.Visited on Weekday …

Tori Clinton: Really lovely gardens to enjoy a picnic

Dawn Plant: Finished off our national trust weekend tour with a visit to Goddards gardens. A beautiful sunny afternoon spent in the quiet gardens. The little woodland walk was serene in the afternoon heat, finished off with ice creams. Compliments to the kitchen staff, our toasties were the best ever, we sat in the picnic area with the Terry's chocolate factory tower in the distance. A quiet oasis away from the bustle of daily life.

Susan Cooper: What a lovely quiet corner of York well worth a visit, why has it taken us so long.

Josh Wakeford: Lovely garden to walk around. There is also a small coffee takeaway place where they'll give you tea or coffee on a tray to take and sit with on the chairs and tables or anywhere else in the gardens!Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …
