Helen Howland: vegan engagement cake from Lisha. OMG, it was incredible. The sponge was moist and wonderfully flavoured and the design was perfect. We’ve had so many folks asking where the cake was from, it was a real hit with all the party guests. Lisha was so good to work with too, she suggested options and enhancements which were just perfect. Beautiful cake and a great experience. Would definitely recommend.

Iced Yorkshire is a family run business based in York and was established by myself Angela & Doug, my husband in April 2014. I began my career as a Pastry Chef and Doug was a Conference & Banqueting Supervisor. It was love at first sight and we have worked together in Catering and Hospitality ever since we met at the age of 18.
Myself and Doug founded our business after seeing a gap in the market. There was no longer a specialist sugar craft supplies company within York and there was still a demand for one, with baking and cake decorating becoming quite a trend. Iced Yorkshire is striving to be the biggest sugar craft supplies company in Yorkshire. We listen to our customers and strive to ensure we provide the best possible customer experience.
In 2002 I discovered the love for cake decorating after attending many a night class with my mum. The result of this was that I got my dream job as a full time cake decorator, which in turn, progressed into our first business, ‘Angela’s Angel Cakes’ which grew to be a success.
Fast forward a few years we decided to turn this business into a sugar craft supply shop and so ‘Iced Yorkshire’ was born. This has also been a success.
A part of my vision for Iced Yorkshire was to create a Classroom where I could impart my knowledge and passion for Sugar Craft on to others. This led me at the age of 30yrs old, to attend College where I gained my level 4 teaching qualification. This enabled me to be a PME accredited Teacher.
The PME courses have proved to be very popular as are the numerous workshops we offer. This is a fun way to learn in a relaxed, friendly class environment.
As already mentioned, Iced Yorkshire is a family run business. This includes my Dad Barry, who is always on hand helping out in the shop, our daughter Maisie, and our latest edition little Doug.
In 2015 two learners enrolled on a PME class, the result being that they never left! Anne and Louise joined Iced Yorkshire and we all work together as one big team. They both have a passion for cake decorating and have gained practically as much knowledge as myself after listening to me dribble on every day!
When Anne isn’t with Iced Yorkshire, she works at a well know tea room in York City Centre. Her life is all about the great British cake she also enjoys baking cakes for the church, friends and family. Anne also plays squash in the spare time she has away from all things cakes!
In contrast, Louise is a Shepherdess who cares for over 300 sheep on her farm. But like any good shepherdess, she still has a love for baking and is so dedicated that she only leaves Iced Yorkshire when the demands of the Lambing season descends, twice a year.
At Iced Yorkshire, we offer PME courses, Workshops, and private 1 to 1 tuition. These run regularly throughout the year as well as the Seasonal classes we offer. Please have a good look on the website for further details.

The course, and Angela, the teacher were absolutely great and exceeded all my expectations in terms of skills learnt and standards achieved in just 3 days. Angela is very skilled and experienced but also an excellent teacher and the atmosphere was relaxed and very pleasant. I chose a one to one course for the Sugarpaste, but enjoyed it so much that I signed up for the group buttercream - striped cake and flower cup cake decorating, which was equally impressive and worthwhile. Whether you want to ice cakes for fun or more commercially, you will learn a vast range of skills here in a really supportive and professional atmosphere- I can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you Angela and Louise, her assistant, who is equally lovely- I had a great few days and will no doubt see you again, if only to buy supplies from your very well equipped shop!

S: The cinnamon bun was utterly unctuous. The balanced cinnamon sugar felt like a warm hug on a rainy day in York.I took a bite, brought it up Cliffords Tower, onto a train, into the fridge overnight, then into the oven the next day, and it was still fabulous!If you do heat it up, I recommend covering it so the cinnamon doesnt burn, else it develops a fennel like flavor.
Antariksh Saxena: The sourdough bread at this bakery is simply outstanding. Its crust is wonderfully crispy, and the interior has that perfect balance of tanginess and chewiness. As for the savory Danish, it's a delightful treat with a flaky pastry and a savory filling that bursts with pesto flavor. A must-try for bread and pastry lovers!

We got their five spice roll and the spinach chickpea roll — and both were absolutely outstanding even cold! The flavors are so absolutely on point and so delicious that we will be going back tomorrow before our train back to London to pick some more up to take home!

I popped in this afternoon for something sweet, and came away with a Honey & Spelt Cake. Sadly I can share no evidence of this with you as it disappeared rather quickly! I cannot recommend them enough - delicious!

M: Fantastic baked goods!! It’s not a sit down cafe or restaurant but definitely go in and get some bread and pastries. The best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had, such flavorful dough. The rosemary and sea salt focaccia is great. They have great pastries you just need to get them before they sell out.
Halit Sencan: It was truly incredible. Low amount of reviews because it’s not too visible, but the sweets were fresh and amazing. Must try the spelt cake!
