Nurse Jawa: We didn’t eat here but enjoyed a fabulous Friday night being entertained by a huge Session of drop-in musicians. Everything from Irish reels, Old English laments, sea shanties and Appalachian banjo reels were played by an incredibly talented bunch of people. Thank you to the Three Legged Mare and those musicians for making our first night in York the best ever!Hubby went back a few days later when there was no music and enjoyed the atmosphere there. It’s relaxed and friendly. Definitely gong back.
MADDOGLEP: I first came here after watching a game at York City twenty years ago and been a few times since. Boothroyd tells me that the Three Legged Mare was a hanging post for the times when having an opinion the ruling class hated was enough to hang you. Now coming back into fashion in the 2020's Woke State. Madge remembers it as a York Brewery bar but now Black Sheep .. two guest ales. I had a Half Moon Brewery Pale Ale. Long bar with another room to rear.

Kristen Rivera: there will be people rowing on the river. So if you're a light sleeper the callig will wake you as it did me. Be advised this is not an easily accesible stay. The stairs are very steep and winding.Overall solid option if you're booking last minute and need a clean room.Rooms: Small but clean. Well stocked.Walkability: Short 15 min walk from train station. No more than 20 min walk to either side of historic area.Noteworthy details: 24/7 separate entrance from pub once checked in.
Lilith St Cyr: in which i wanted no part.Stepping from the shower, I realised that i must rinse my hair before i was free of this brimstoney lava spout. Dipping in and out, in fear of burns i attempted to anoint myself in the flames, develop some resistance and leap through fire to be done with the upkeep of my hair. Each lashing was caustic, leaving lasting marks of pain on my temple,.The steam as it rose sweltered the room, fogging each and every surface in a dew with the rancid texture of rough tripe. I was undeterred, desperate to cleanse my hair of the shampoo i had so brazenly lathered upon it before learning of my fate. I swung my head forward into the stream of satan's micturition, and it slapped forward into both my eyes, smudging the blasted shampoo in and causing my pain to multiply as i doubled over - right into the godless fire.Desperate to flee, I pawed for a handhold, but my hands did connect not with any such thing, and slipped wildly through the agony pool which collected around my near-deafeated corpse-in-waiting. I turned 360 degress around and made for the tap, and with some degree of struggling was able to arrest the water flow. It was at this point I decided to wash my hair in the sink instead.5/5 wonderful amenities and great central location. Shower needs fixing probably.
ian murray: Fantastic place with an old feel to it but in the perfect location possible in my opinion as it's next door to everything, the shambles, dungeon, river, bridge, car parks only a 2 minute walk, food and shops. I recommend this place but don't expect an ultra modern hotel, this is a listed building and feels like an old B&B which is what it should feel like in an old treasure like York. Barbara Bassi: Very nice experience. We had Easter lunch with a tasty Sunday roast. They provided us a comfortable spot where it was easy to reach the accessible toilet and have the baby changed. They also provided us with highchair. Also, the position of the pub is a few steps from the stunning York Minster. Highly reccommended!

Suze Siviter: Friendly service, pie was very nice, good pastry, veg cooked well too, if I had to be picky, the mash didn't taste as good as homemade buttery mash, tasted more like the powdered kind. Still, highly recommended, would go back.
Charlotte Pearce: Visited here on a Friday lunchtime. We ordered the halloumi wrap with roasted peppers, salsa, and baby gem lettuce but I asked for this as a sandwich which they did. Also ordered the chicken wrap with chips, and the steak and ale pie with vegetables, mashed potato, and gravy. You can order off the lunch or main menu at lunch time which is handy. The food arrived quickly and was tasty. It was a bit cool inside so I did ask if the heating could be turned up, but I didn't notice it get any warmer. Overall enjoyable meal and I would recommend.

Tracey Williams-Macklin: Lovely pub with great food. Cost of food fairly reasonable.Pints a bit pricey but they had a good selection.Vegetarian options: Had the put lentil & vegetable cottage pie: delicious. Vegetables perfectly cooked and flavoured.
Cheryl Marcus: Sam and Christian where absolutly fantastic.Very welcoming and chatty. When ever me and my mum visit York we always come here to dine. The food I had a change as always wanted to try the pie. Which was cooked by Gav. Steak and ale I tried this time and it didn't disappoint. The carrots where lovely. Kathy Evans: , the Kennedys team were incredible at helping to pre-plan arrangements and on the night, the team made it a night to remember. The bar staff provided a seamless service, the canopes served were amazing and so many guests feedback on how good the food was. If you want to hold a party and create the most perfect memories then Kennedys can offer it all.
Will Stead: Had a lovely night out. The food was fantastic. By far the best part was the service. Lewis did a fantastic job with ordering our mains and drinks, he was exceptionally polite, friendly, and patient. We were seated and ordered our deserts with Emily who was equally excellent, we were happy to pay the service charge because of how great they were. Give them both a raise!!
