Great importance is attached to establishing a trusting and confidential personal relationship with clients. Whether you are having an assessment appointment or therapy you will always feel you are in the safe hands of a highly trained and experienced therapist who understands your problems.

Are you struggling with feelings of sadness, low mood, hopelessness or helplessness? Are you experiencing problems sleeping, poor concentration and lacking energy or motivation? Have you become more socially withdrawn? Have these symptoms persisted more than a few weeks? If so, you may be suffering from depression and be looking for help manage.

Are you feeling nervous, anxious or on edge? Do you find yourself worrying about different things? Are you experiencing panic attacks? If you have been experiencing these symptoms for more than two weeks you may be suffering from anxiety, stress or a specific anxiety issue.

Have you experienced a specific, single event trauma such as a car accident? Or maybe you have experienced a traumatic bereavement? You may not consider your experience to have been a “trauma” or “traumatic” but have experienced distressing, upsetting events that still cause you difficulties.

I work with trauma using EMDR treatment but also offer Trauma Focused CBT (tf-CBT) if requested or preferred. There is a strong evidence base for the effectiveness of both treatments.

I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist having completed my CBT training at The University of York in 2010.

I began my career in mental health working for the NHS more than 10 years ago. I have since worked in primary care mental health for both the public and private sector and have extensive experience of working with psychological difficulties such as depression, anxiety, OCD, social anxiety and PTSD.

I am also trained as an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) Practitioner and in Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) for Depression.

I work with individuals from the age of 17 who are experiencing depression, anxiety and trauma related disorders.

My private clinic is based at York Eco Centre, Clifton Moor.
