Old Irish Harp: what do users think?
Conrad Jackson: Good food and great service
Steph Harper: Love place staff very friendly
Stuart Thompson: Nice atmosphere nice staff nice drinks good food
Linda Buckingham: Great pub and eating house. Very nicely decked out inside. Great food. We had lunch and the sharing plate on the menu. It has a great garden and a small covered area for eating. Very chilled.
Heidi Hewitt: We dropped in on the off chance and they found us a table. So glad they did, the food was delicious. We had the pate starter, scampi and chicken and chorizo flat bread. The lady who served us was so lovely but I can't remember her name, Julie or Tracey (sorry)
Emma Gardner: I'm very disappointed. This was not my first time here, but on this occasion, I was extremely disappointed. It was my birthday meal with family we ordered food and drink. My drink took over 20 minutes to arrive. I ordered a non alcohol mock tail due to driving. My drink arrived full of alcohol and the wrong mock tail food was nice. Service was not good at all. This restaurant has been taken over by new management. Previous it was Emma who when we Previous been had no issues. I definitely will not be returning.
Paula Blanco Sánchez: Great service e and food is great. Good selection of beers and ales.
Dave Walker: Very busy, and food arrived without a long wait, which was a plus. and served as would have wished. Only negative was that requested conservatory area and told that this was not possible, and was not prepared to put us in the preferred area, even though tables were empty. Did not order a dessert as the apple pie that used to be on the menu had been removed and nothing on menu suited.
Helen Breen: 12 of us booked a table for Saturday night. The table was lovely and nicely positioned. We went to the bar for drinks. First problem. The restaurant was almost empty and yet it took upwards of 15 minutes to get 4 drinks and to be told there was no malibu. Everyone arrived and again service was painfully slow at the bar. We ordered our meals and again we were told our steaks of choice were unavailable. On a Saturday night in an almost empty restaurant. Service at the table was slow and we had to remind the servers that various items were missing I had almost finished my meal by the time my halloumi fries arrived and had to eat them separately. No one asked if we wanted drinks at the table and again the wait at the bar was painful. Finally 4 of us ordered desserts for only 3 to arrive. The 3 of us had finished ours by the time the 4th arrived. Very disappointing for a usually spot on Irish harp. To run out of food and drink on a Saturday night when the restaurant was almost empty added to slow and poor service. Not sure if I would return
becky s: It’s a building, not a harp
Clive Leather: Great menu, had Steak and Ale pie... Superb!Very good service goodatmosphere...
mammyandpappy: Visited today with family. Very disappointing as been here quite a few times and always had a good experience. The service was very poor and the staff were very inattentive. One meal had to be returned as it was not hot so when it was returned everyone else had finished their meal. We had to ask for the dessert menu so they then cleared the main plates which were still on the table. Also they never asked us if we wanted any more drinks for which we had to request. Will think twice before revisiting.
callum inglut: Best service possible here today. Sunday roasts hit just the right spot. Followed by a banging dessert. Cheers guys. Will be back!
Katharine Davies: Nice pub with a good range of food options and ability to cater for different needs. Service was slow and prices were not reflective of the quality served. Overall however, not a bad pub and the overall environment was nice.
ian blair: PLEASE READ THE FULL REVIEWWasnt asked about alergies, when asked if any onions in the burgers due to allergies, waitress asked chef and then tolf us" chef said its more than his jobs worth to say if onions are in burger or not" she then suggested we should google or.look on website. When food csme chips/ fries where cold and didnt dare complainWent back again 3 weeks later , was given a full complimentary meal and drinks by the manager Joe, and was an amazing and exceptional visit this time, staff made us aware and asked about allergies, very friendly and attentive staff, food tasty, flavoursome and cooked to perfectionCan not fault this visit and will go back againWas one person ,in group, birthday and this helped her celebarateThank you
Paul Walker: Ordered from gluten free menu starter came ......eventually but was not gluten free thankfully we realised and sent it back. No one apologised. Service very casual
Kim Dorman: Service was good was and Sunday roast nice 😊
Andrew Sherwood: The food was amazing. I had the ham hock and it was tender to the point of falling of the bone. The atmosphere of the pub is always friendly and welcoming. Also, as someone with a disability, it is one of the most easily accessible pubs I know.
michael heeley: I have used the old Irish harp for years unfortunately during the last year quality and service has gone down hill it was always a special meal with great service but now with no rotisserie chicken with chicken my way there is nothing special about the food and the other food now being served is not the same .I know costs of running rotisserie are high but people would pay extra for the quality also this can't be just me at 1pm yesterday the place was nearly empty it used to be rammed one last point with the plough and Harrow only half a mile down the road you've got stiff competition because unfortunately there food and service is far superior, I love the Irish harp so please get the rotisserie on and raise the standards to what they used to be
David Burdett: I've passed this pub many, many times but never actually been. We recently visited and it's the best Marstons pub I've ever been too, really clean and tidy, staff were friendly and food was great. We arrived at opening time on a Friday. We easily found seating but we would recommend that you reserve a table as the place soon fills up. Very impressed and would happily go there again.
Lester Sanders: Great service, polite and prompt, good food, reasonable choice of beers.
