The Psychotherapy Clinic offers a wide range of therapeutic services for people wishing to relieve their emotional pain and reach their potential.

Hello and a warm welcome to The Psychotherapy Clinic, I am Emma McDonald, Psychotherapist and Clinical Lead. Our service is a private therapy service supporting adults and children experiencing depression, anxiety and trauma. Our fantastic team of specialists provide psychological treatment services with our aim being to help you to relieve emotional pain, so that you can live the life you want to lead.

We can assure competency of our specialists as our CBT team are all BABCP accredited and our Counselling team are members of the BACP ot UKCP, we are committed to help you to achieve the best outcome from therapy.

We are located in Willenhall, Walsall in the West Midlands. Our clinic rooms offer a warm, welcoming and comfortable space for you to come to meet with your therapist. In addition to face to face support, we offer support via video or telephone call.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based therapy commonly used to treat depression and anxiety, but it can be useful for treating other mental and physical health problems.


CBT emphasises the relationship between our thoughts, emotions and behaviours. CBT provides practical life-long strategies to help you manage emotional difficulties.


Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy recommeded by the NHS (NICE). EMDR targets any emotional difficulties that you believe may be linked traumatic memories or life experiences.


EMDR helps you to move forward from the past, manage the present and feel better able to cope with the future.


Counselling is an intergrative therapy which means that we tailor make a personalised treatment plan specifically around you and your experience, drawing from different therapeutic approaches, to gain you the best outcome.


This personalised therapy can help you to become aware and process your experiences, to help you move forward from your current experience to a better and brighter future.

You shouldn’t be hampered by the events of the past

Nobody should have to experience the challenges many of us have faced. We go through life facing one “bump” after another but oftentimes without the support we need. If I’m honest, it grieves me to see my clients struggling but I became a psychotherapist because I wanted to help.

Work through your painful emotional, behavioural, or relational challenges and enhance your mental wellbeing.

Give your child or young person the safe and confidential space to speak openly and express their feelings.

Regardless of how you identify or if you think your problems are trivial, benefit from having non-judgemental support.

Beginning in 2022, we partnered with Walsall Manor Hospital to advertise our services to the hospital's patients. If you've seen us around, be sure to get in touch either for yourself or someone you know.

We help individuals who are struggling to manage life’s challenges by providing therapeutic support to be the best version of themselves.

For most people, this first step is the hardest. You're not crazy. You're not falling apart. You haven't failed. Seeking therapy is not an admission that you're weak.

We want you to know what to expect from the therapy. It's nothing to be worried about but definitely worth learning more.

The initial consultation is a "finding out" pre-therapy meeting where you tell us a bit about your situation and what you would like to address. We'll also ask you to complete some paperwork.

Whilst face-to-face sessions are available upon request, most are currently taking place online through our video portal. You can speak with your therapist from anywhere in the world, and you won't be required to install any software. Learn more about our online therapy option.
