Bell Walsall: what do users think?
John Hamilton: I enjoyed drinking at the bell but the music was too loud. when you start shouting to your friends it becomes painful.
Shane e: great food , good service
Wayne Smith: Food was good.....needed more staff me thinks
S “SK”: Alright but like slow service but food is alright
Paul Rowe: Food was excellent as was the beer. Only issue was that there was only 2 bar staff on, so it was quite a wait to be served
Ian Venables: Great food, nice ciders on tap
Sherrie Bell: Nice place and atmosphere
Steve Fell: Very busy but food was well cooked.
Keith Povall: Updated September 10th 2021.Went for lunch, first time since September last year. Such a pleasure being able to sit on the sofas and have a drink before eating which we couldn't do last year.I've always liked the food at the Bell, but today, I give a ten out of ten for everything. Service, bar staff (so friendly) and the food. I had haddock. Perfection is an understatement. Also the treacle sponge. Presentation and quality truly wonderful Lots of eating places could learn from these simple things that make a great meal and a repeat customer. I remember the strain everyone was under in the midst of the pandemic. It did mar eating out as an experience, but we were always made welcome. I speak as I find and I love eating at the Bell.May 21st. My latest visit was worth posting about. They change the menu on a regular basis and I met a pal there for an evening meal. I had the chicken and ham pie with cheddar mash. Pal had Hunters chicken. both meals beautifully presented and speaking for mine, truly excellent.Like last time, the service was excellent and this time I asked the name of our "serving wench" Esther or Esther the Pester as she described herself. A lovely friendly lady with a winning personality. I enjoy visiting the Bell, it's a nice pub with a good choice of well priced quality food.1==================Been today for a late birthday meal with my sister and her hub. I had the ribs which were lovely as were the chips. Star of the show, excellent chocolate ice cream. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was very friendly.A year or so later, I was there again with Sister and hub for another late birthday meal The menu has changed and this time I had the slow cooked beef rib and mash. Nicest meal I ever had here. Nothing wrong with the other times, but it was precisely as described in the menu and they even substituted peas for broccoli. Top marks all round.Update: Sept 29th. I have to add to this review of the Bell, to say how much I appreciate all the hard work the team do to keep people safe in this ridiculous state of affairs known as the pandemic. The measures forced upon us certainly mars a normal dining experience. Businesses are struggling as it is, but we see them having to deploy extra staff for table service, instruct customers in the use of the app to order table service. Let's hope these measures have an effect soon. Personally, I thing the Christmas period is a dead duck. Food and service were first class as usual last night, so a big shout out to everyone working so hard at the Bell.Apr 24-2023 menu has been altered. I had the plant based tika skewers and these were superb. That's coming from a meat eater. Food and service still great.
Harsha Patel: Really pleasant, like always. Disappointed treacle sponge is off the menu.
Diane Harnett: First time here wasn't impressed. Very long wait time on food. Very long wait time to get served at the bar but only seen 3 members of staff serving the bar and serving food which is ridiculous . I ordered the beef Sunday dinner £10.99 I don't eat veg or parsnip so asked for that to be taken off obviously my choice but they put it on a smaller plate so it didn't look so swanky because all igot was two slices of beef one yorkshire and six little roasters I wasn't even given an extra yorkshire real value for money for £10.99 the child's meal I ordered for my little 3yr old grandaughter was bigger. I would say what we did have tasted nice but the wait time was far too long. Will we eat here again probably not.
Caroline Hamilton: Excellent service and excellent staff overall excellent experience food was excellent x
Mark Mandale: Stopped off on the way to the football. Staff friendly, food excellent. Nice clean pub. What more can you ask for?
T D: Affordable menuLovely atmosphere
Karen Smith: Lovely food, good service, friendly staff
Daniel Farmer: Service was great and Daniel was really friendly and helpful
Aj gohil: Nice palace to visit. The food also nice.
Emily Ainsworth: Tuesday evening meal really disappointed. Was quite busy, we waited over ten min for drinks which I ordered on the app to be served the wrong drink. Waited over an hour for a dry chicken burger and a hunters chicken, we had to return the hunters chicken because it was pretty burnt and inedible and we’d paid extra for sweet potato fries but received normal chips. They did change the meal for a fresh one but after waiting almost hour and half it didn’t feel worth it,They seemed really short staffed and only one woman seemed to be waitressing and cleaning
Ady S: Good food nice family pub. Staff are polite, good service.
Christopher Perry: It's allways been nice every time weave been brilliant staff brilliant service
luke huizinga: Good Ember Inn

The Red Lion: what do users think?
Terry Powell: It's an oasis in the madness
Lynne Day: We went yesterday for my husband's birthday, met up with friends. It was a lot busier than usual, but it deserves to be busy. Our food was lovely, as usual, and the staff as friendly as ever. I have even been in on my own of a lunch time and felt totally relaxed. As a 64 year old woman it can be a bit daunting going in a pub on your own, but not here. Regulars are as friendly as the staff. Hope maybe in the summer I might go of a night with my friend as it looks good fun. Keep doing what you're doing, a great venue

The Manor Arms: what do users think?
Deborah Evans: 'The pub with no bar'. Beautifully situated alongside the canal. Very peaceful. Friendly, welcoming staff. They don't serve hot food but you can get a cheese and onion cob to go with your drink. Dog friendly and a lovely beer garden to. A MUST place to visit.

The landlord is excellent company and certainly know how to keep his cask ale offerings in top condition. A wonderful barmaid will also be found midweek day times. A rarer regular 12 noon opener 7 days a week as well. Various cobs are available for £1.50p
Lorraine Finlayson: My favorite place, best pub in town without a doubt, lovely atmosphere and love Ann and Derek Marieand Kelly, definitely worth a visit if you like old pubs with character xx
Mark Mc: Great little pub in an area otherwise devoid of any pubs or bars of any character, ambience or atmosphere. Not a great range of beers, else would be 5 star
Andrew Smith: Great traditional pub. Beer, cheese and onion cobs, no nonsense.

Roy Brachmanski: Nice venue with great food
Jonathan Webber: Great food and service, never been before but would definitely go again. Lobster was fantastic.
Oliver Dodkins: Nice food, small but good menu, friendly staff and nice decor. Loved the suits of armour and the sticky toffee pudding!

Samantha Hoey: Ate here last week chose the 2 courses for £14 lunch deal and omg amazing food, servers Charlie and jess were great and so efficient will definitely be going back.
Fae Robinson: Had a beautiful meal here tonight for my birthday, new owners would highly recommend, lovely atmosphere and gorgeous cocktails too.
lyndzey brewer: Very accommodating has no free tables as was dully booked but was offered a table in the bar area. Starter i had mushrooms and it was very tasty portion side bery generous i then had the tampera beef noodles nice but just a little to firey for me overall food was great 👍
Barbara Farrington was Lightfoot: Food not up to standard, poor choice of menu. Staff not very helpful or friendly. Would not recommend going there.
tyson clee: With the new owners the food is a lot better. Nice atmosphere Nice food will be back again and would definitely recommend
Scott Smith: Having visited the newly Re-opened New Masons under new management last night we was highly impressed.Table of 10 was booked for us at 7.30. Arrived a hour early to have a few drinks in the lovely bar area and was shown to our table when we was ready no rush what so ever. All had a mixture of starters and all was out of this world, all came out at the same time.Main courses all had again different meals and again all came out at the same time all piping hot, very well presented and full of flavour.A few had puddings which was very nice, but a few never as the plates of food are quite filling.Outstanding value, staff was all very pleasant and was always there on hand, brilliant service. We will be making a lot more visits to this new establishment.Nice touch was that chef came out to see if everything was to our standards always shows a good eating place if that happens.
craig simmons: Warning !!!!!!!!¡!!!I Went into this pub and purchased a pint and a half but got seriously over charged so I approached a members of staff and got the over charge refunded. But went in again today and the same thing happened again, I was served by Jane and a tall lady who is always on here phone but this time I told these crooks that I will not tolerate such corrupt service,.shame on you Jane and I will Never Go there go again ever
Angie Edwards: Nice place, apparently newly opened. The menu is limited and there isn't a drinks menu but if you ask they seem to be able to provide any cocktail you request. Staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and went the extra mile to make my daughters birthday meal that little bit special. Pleasant surroundings, modern and clean. Would recommend.
Julie Nicholas: Christmas meal. Food ok
Winifred Stone: Friendly staff lovley food x
Bamboo Shadow: It would be fair to say the catering and catering staff are in transition.
Rachel Wilmshurst: The place was nice and the staff friendly, not sure if it was just an off day but the food was extremely under-seasoned. Bland fish and tasteless sauces.
Tracy Brown: Was looking forward to a great meal with friends but what a disappointment. Menu poor but chose pan fried salmon in white sauce with prawns. Tucked in and middle was completely raw. Sauce tasted floury. After sending it back a lady came out to apologise but then went on to say that everyone likes salmon cooked differently and she likes hers raw and you can eat it raw ??? She then explained that the reason it was undercooked was because it was a thicker cut of salmon??? Oh, that’s ok then! She informed me I wouldn’t have to pay for my meal. My replacement salmon was smaller and overcooked and actually burnt at the bottom! I just ate it but not sure why really. The green beans were overcooked too.My two friends had burgers which were plain and boring and chips were nothing to write home about either. When we came to pay they tried to charge me for the salmon plus a bottle of wine that we didn’t have.!!Needless to say we will not return! There was no atmosphere and only 2 tables with people and the remainder was empty so that says it all.You won’t last long
Irene Piroska: Great food.. really tasty definitely be back
Sammy Wood: Great atmosphere, lovely food. 5*

Carl Rowley: Food fantastic
Linda Langley: Great pub lovely food. Nice staff.Recomend.
Adam Fletcher: Great team! Lovely speaking to Sian :)
Louise: Really nice meal, good service
joyce cockayne: Excellent 👍 👎 disappointedThe reason I have put disappointed is , we have been going here for a few years, and had lovely meals but we went today and was disappointed because they changed the menu 😕 my partner always has nachos as a main meal but today they didn't serve natchos they served Doritos out of a packet and most of them were all broken up, I had hunters chicken with hardly any barbacue sauce and half a mushroom not a hole one , if that's there way of cut backs then I'm not be going back , shame as we do like the longhorn because it's dog friendly 😔
Des Sedgwick: Very nice food and drinks place very nice to relax
T D: Great staff And food
Carl Gorton Photography: Went there with friends to celebrate a birthday, ordered 5 meals and drinks and sat at or table which took 2 folded beermats under the feet to level. Anyway food arrived and the two steaks were well done not medium and veg missing from other meals .Anyway it's a good place to meet up with friends maybe an off day for the cook .Shame because the Ember Inn's The Bell gets the steak perfect every time. As I said just an off day.Would try again but in the week next time when less busy.
J M W: Was nice meal. Did ask for Risotto but they did not have any otherwise would have been 5*
