Broome Manor Golf Complex: what do users think?
Paul Brown: I didn’t go. I just drive past and you pinged me.I’m at The Horseshoe at Minal for Sunday roast lunch.MarlboroughMildenhallSN8 2LREngland
Adam Ant: So sad to see this place being seemingly run down. Was so much better when it was being run by the council. Greenkeepers should be proud of their golf course, but I’d be embarrassed with how it is currently being presented. What’s wrong with cutting grass? Almost couldn’t see my golf shoes for the length of the grass on the green. Not sure what’s going on as have read something in the press about some disgruntled ‘members’ not being happy with losing a 9 hole course. Well it looks like you’ve lost 27 holes to be honest! Spend your money elsewhere. Get far better value for money at somewhere like west berks. Forget the new 241 promotion they’re trying to promote-it ain’t worth 141! AVOID AVOID AVOID
Snips 1445: Played the course today and can only describe it as shocking ! Uncut fairways getting flyers out of them, greens were bobbly and very very slow, again uncut ! The course looks very tired and tatty, no bins no ball washers ! Don’t waste your money here choose any other course in Wiltshire where they cut the course and take some pride in it !!!!
Jack Varley: Driving range facilities are nice.
Mitchell Wheeler: Paid £32 for a round where the tees are destroyed and a temporary green where I have to putt on a fairway. Most bunkers and surrounding greens under repair. Why can't they charge less if the course is sub standard?
Wendy Harman: Great fun with son in law n grandkids hitting alot of golf balls
Mike Baker: Played the 9 hole course and 18 and disappointed with both. Unable to differentiate between the fairway and rough, bunkers poorly maintained and you have to tee off in long grass. Clubhouse and American Golf shop decent though
David Mills: As a blue badge holder I require a buggy. Cost me £62 for 18 holes and a buggy! Absolute rip off!
James Dell: Great complex and you can see money is being spent on the course. The only downside is the number of areas on the fairway and greens that are under repair across the 18. Another note is the course layout is less than obvious if its your first time playing here which could easily be improved with signage.
Luke Jenkins: One star- mainly for the setting & course condition was fair. After the booking office made a mistake, we were approached on the course by the marshall. When asking who we'd spoken with, decided to take a step back in time and throw in all of the most sexist cliché's he could think of 'was it the one that's nice to look at??....you wouldn't say no would ya....I'm sorry I didn't say more but pretty lost for words, we continued with our round and enjoyed it until the 17th. As light was fading a lady from reception walked onto the hole, clearly disgruntled at having to wait for twilight golfers to finish their twilight round (time was approaching 8:30pm).'Weren't you told we close the gates soon' (we weren't).'I'm closing them now and you'll be locked in''Twilight doesn't mean you play until you finish, you pay less as you play fewer holes'When we explained that weren't told, nor were there any signs, she got even ruder and asked for our names. The course itself is OK (not great for the money and several poor greens and bare areas), having to pre-pay for booking and then the total lack of hospitality and manners from staff will mean that I'd never play here again.
Warwick Hall: Only tried the driving range so far which was great! Manic Monday get 120 balls for £6. Bays outside on an upper deck as well as lower bays.
Chris Scot: Lady on reception was very rude. Constantly asked for tickets on round, the course was good but not well kept compared to others. Won't be returning , can over look course but put off by service.
Glyn Thomas: Nice course, good few strings of holes.......tee boxes struggling in the heat though.
M Doolan: The only driving range within 50 miles open until 10pm but shuts early because "the ball collector has no roof"? Whatever mate, really helpful after my hour round trip to be told "best bet is to get here a bit earlier"Watched him turn away 5 dudes who got there at 8pm.
Nathan Piper: Went to the driving range, it definitely needs a little tlc to say the least
David Wain: Nice golf course with some good views
Yan Hunter: Course is in good shape. £26 a round with a member. Drinks and snacks in clubhouse bar are good 👍
Jonny Harvell: Played the 9 hole course. Staff were excellent. The course was extremely boggy and waterlogged in places. Would probably go back in summer, but wasn't great for winter. Good value for 9 holes though.
nabil ismael: nice place
Chouch B: Most disappointed. Booked a room for an event, invites gone out etc, then they request pick another day?????? My goodness !
Karl Haslam: Great course in excellent condition

Wrag Barn Golf Club: what do users think?
Shaun Payne: The golf course was in tip-top condition, and it was definitely worth a visit
Tessa Goring: We hosted our ‘Happily Ever After’ party at Wrag Barn and it was a fabulous evening. The location, food, drink & atmosphere was just perfect! Thank you to Ben, Tracey & the team.
Neil Kipling: Great lunch in a relaxed environment.
Lord Brendan Lloyd Walker: Many thanks to Ben and his " top team " for laying on a superb evening on Saturday night for my partner Joanne's 50th and her Dad Bob's 80th joint birthday party. The venue is perfect and the food was perfect too. Compliments to the chef and his team for a gorgeous meal which everyone enjoyed. Totally faultless party and service laid on for us by all involved. Disco was spot on too. Thankyou for making it special Ben and memorable. I would highly recommend Wrag Barn for any event or party and would definately book it again in the future.. 10/10.
Lucy Scott: We had our wedding here yesterday. Honestly, we are very impressed! Really good food servings (none of our guests said they was hungry after the sit down meal), the drinks was responsibly priced (we didn't buy any drinks 🤣) and Ben looked after us so well!I highly recommend this venue to anyone!
Teddy Williams: Fantastic place, great service and a lovely golf club!
Andy Eastham: I've been a member here for over 15 years and have hosted many guests. Everyone seems to like the course. Visitors always seem to comment what a friendly place it is. I go to many other golf clubs where the members don't seem to be having as much fun as we do! 🍻
Paul Richards: Lovely course. Was a bit cold and frosty but greens were spot on
Willsterox (william owen): Great chefs, great service, friendly atmoshphere
Michael Atkins: A pleasant course well maintained, with friendly club house and staff. Finished off with a good meal.
oliver cannell: Pretty decent course to play if you have the chance . Some lovely holes . The 170y par 3 over water is a cracker . Long par 4sMake it a challenging course .. down side greens are pretty east not much turn . All the staff really helpful & the pro shop is really decent size / stock . Weather today was pretty tragic windy & 3 hrs of rain , but had a great round . Will be back 😎
Peter Rowe: Seniors Golf Open - Bowmaker. Great day, lovely course, great food.
Richard Bodenham: Challenging course. The club are working hard to restore the greens after the extreme hot weather ; some suffered more than others. Still playing well despite this.Lovely clubhouse and the welcome was very warm
Luke Adams: My wife and I cannot thank the staff at Wrag barn enough. From the second we looked at the venue to the minute we left on our wedding day, they were fantastic. Ben went above and beyond to make our day extra special. Nothing ever seemed an issue and he did his absolute best to fulfil our needs. You all did us so proud. The venue was beautiful and the food was delicious. We can’t recommend you enough.Thank you again for all your hard work. What a wonderful team.Mr & Mrs Adams.
Karen Anderson: Had the best day playing in Mixed Open at Wrag Barn. The very best organised event by Tracey. Food fabulous, with excellent service. Course condition was good considering the difficulties re extremely hot weather recently.Course is a great challenge. Will definitely return.
Matt Jones: Lovely round of golf
Graham Treadwell: Lovely course, good facilities, well equipped pro shop.
Robin Smart: Good course to play need to come back another time as the greens was being treated ready for winter but the greens was soft which i did like.layout was good as the clubhouse/ pro shop also looked good.. As we know this summer has been a hot one the fairways needs the rain. Green fees for the weekend maybe a little high for me personally, still I did enjoy my round with some challenging holes
Tim Pidgeon: Pleasantly surprised. Attended a wedding and all went well... food was good and bar staff attentive. only bad point is the IPA ran out after 1 pint... come on guys a wedding and no one checked this ;)
Talisha Townsend: I just had my wedding at wragbarn, and it was beautiful, the stuff went above and beyond for us, we had to change our dates 3 time due to covid-19 and they were amazing and helped make its the best day ever..would highly recommend to anyone to get married here!!!!! ❤️
Geoff Minhinett: Good course, lovely breakfast, friendly staff and a great day out 👍

Shrivenham Park Golf Club: what do users think?
Jacob Marsh: This is a revised review. I previously gave this course 5 stars, it used to be a brilliant course and very reasonable price of around £18 for a weekday round. You now have to pay upwards of £30 for a round which is completely ridiculous. The course condition is just bad, the fairways are average and the greens always have bumps, divots and are a lot slower than you'd expect for what would be a £30 round of golf. Comparing it to other courses around the area for the same price, Wilshire golf club in Bassett is a great example of a well looked after and excellent condition course for practically the same price as shrivenham. I won't be returning to shrivenham, by increasing their prices by as much as they have they are pushing away a lot of golfers and it helps even less by the poor condition of their course itself. In a word, disappointed
Christopher White: Really enjoyed it..Denise was a fantastic host and very helpful
40yearold Gamer: Nice course and friendly staff, short course but some challengingly narrow holes plenty of reachable par 3 holes for the mid handicappers, well maintained, hole 5 is a nightmare fairway, one of the most challenging sloping heavily right to left. With water hazards to penalise fumbled tee shots,Recommended mid irons off the tee if your driver game like mine is not the strongest
Stuart Green: Ok still a few leaves about.
Rich Urban-Marks: An average course which could be really nice however I think I played just after the greens were hollow tined and therefore every putt was absolute luck as it wasn't unlike putting over the surface of Mars. Club house is small and could do with some updates. The hole variety is great, and they have some challenging and great holes to play. Not very hilly which is always great.
Sandy Gullis: Food option not great, course is really suffering from tge drought, but they are keeping the greens up to standard
Robin Smart: A very adventurous course with some challenging holes, probably won't appeal to everyone but for me definitely go back again. A very good kept greens as the picture showsA few things a say could be updated about the club but overall staff very helpful, pleasant and fellow golfers on the course a thumbs up.Have to give 4 stars as some areas need improvements , tee boxes for one
Martin Hinkley: Fairly short course with some slight inclines. Plenty of big old trees to bring the ball flight to a sudden halt! Could do with a decent club house for the friendly members.
Ashley Archer: Its a great course and it will test any golfer
Geoff Spooner: Attended on Captain's Day, representing Swindon Prostate Cancer Support Group .Over £1400 raised for Prostate Cancer UK, an amazing effort for a relatively small club .A beautiful course set in gorgeous parkland, with really friendly members . Loved it .
Danny Mussard: Great, Challenging course. So much improvement over the past year. Recommend to all golfers high and low handicappers
Roy Turner: A beautiful tree lined course well groomed fairways with ture greens but slow club house could do with modernising but well worth a visit
Chris Jones: I have to say what a nice day I had at Shrivenham Park GC after chatting with a friend Jim one of the groundsmen who I know from my previous golf club and seeing the improvements that have been made here, and the lovely welcome from the club and lovely treatment from the bar maid who was so friendly and helped make the whole day’s experience one that I can’t wait to repeat again. Chris Jones
Andy Edmonds: A great golf course its in good condition at the moment it has a bit of everything on the course it's a little narrow in places but it makes you think about your shot, definitely going back there again 🏌‍♂️👍
Graham Wiltshire: Course 7/10....clubhouse 6/10....carpark 6/10.... however, you get what you pay for and it's great value for money
Phillip Mann: I used to really like this course although hadn't played it for a few years. Went back the other weekend and I think they've made some alterations to the course as there were a few holes I didn't remember from last time. Overall it was worse than I'd remembered and had gone up in price. Don't think it's really worth the admission anymore
Mark Popkiss: Great course and getting better by the month! Friendly members, a great bunch to play with.
Jordan Mundy: It's a very good golf course. It's a very well looked after golf course. The greens are perfect. I enjoy playing there.
Dave Silcock: Narrow course with some really technical challenges that is improving all the time. The 5th is especially challenging with 2 large ponds to tee off over and a fairway that is on the side of a hill
KEITH BIRD: The club is looking good the greens are ok very slow and the fair ways are in good condition
paul warwick: Friendly good value.

Ogbourne Downs Golf Club: what do users think?
darran hodder: Very fast greens, although a tad open for the windy experience..
Stephen Carpenter: Great challenging course. Friendly members and staff
Mark Howson: Certainly one of the best courses I have played for stunning rolling countryside views. Its an absolute beast on the thighs, very up and down but really fun. Some excellent holes, the 14th probably my favourite, a par 5 hitting from an elevated tee box into a sweeping valley. The greens were true albeit slightly slow. Its so hilly seldom will you get a flat lie for your approach shot which provides an extra challenge. Great practice facilities on site too and very friendly staff and members. Whilst I have yet to play any other courses in Wiltshire I would presume this will travel up the ranks within the county quickly as more people play it, such a great course.
David Hanley: Super challenging downland course, made even better by work of ground staff and new greenkeeper over the past two years. Super greens and lovely views over downs.New members welcome, societies well catered for. Reasonable green fees for day visitors.Welcoming clubhouse and pro shop with greatrange of golf related products. Well stocked bar, friendly efficient staff offering good lunch menu.Clubhouse is great for functions and societies.Excellent practice area for short game plus good driving range.Jan. 2023: It was really heavy rain lately and last night, but I went out this morning as soon as it stopped, and the course played well. No puddles, muddy quagmire, or closed holes/areas, unlike several courses in the vicinity.
Carol Mckinlay: Great course and friendly professional staff.
jay hutchings: Superb course in tip top condition this time a year would highly recommend a good test to everyone
Daniel Godwin: Great course, best course for the winter also
Gary Fardon: I have played this course on several occasions over the years but in the last two years, the course has been in exceptional condition. The course is very challenging as the terrain not flat but is very fair if you plot yourself around carefully. The greens are some of the best in Wiltshire, very fast with subtle undulations. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed some great food after completing our round. Can't wait to go back.
Andy Eastham: Great condition again today given the amount of rain we've had
Jacquie Hide: Nothing was very good - certainly not the food.
tsetse fly: Nice place. Helpful staff.
Steve Francis: A very enjoyable golf course, quite hilly and demanding.
David Matthews: Superbly organised, nice company, hopefully play next year. Thank you
Swandon Lane: Had a Great day there with 3 friends of mine. The help and welcoming from the pro shop was first class,,had a game of golf, walked into the clubhouse and the lady that served us was very pleasant. I'll certainly be going back there. Fantastic day. THANKS 😁
Martin Hinkley: Suggest, unless your a mountain goat, that an electric trolley is recommended. Course in fine condition even with lack of rain. Undulating greens take some reading. Great Pro shop and club house.
Steven Gibson: Great golf course.
Walter Courage: A challenging course in wonderful surroundings
I C K Ribbins: Interesting course about 5 miles from Swindon.Very hilly with some challenges - not only on the greens but on the course itself.Only real complaint is that there is no course map available and some of the Tees are lacking suitable direction markers. As there are no course maps it may be worth putting hole maps at the Tees showing the hole layout.Liked the idea of the divot bags which I will suggest to our club.
Haze TM: Great course and a very good test of golf. The course is very well looked after and the greens were fairly fast which we loved. Great selection of holes with uphill and downhill fairway's to hit. The fairway's also slope from one side to the other which makes things even trickier and ball position is essential. The guys in the pro shop were great and also the bar staff. We played free as we are members of Weybrook Park and will definitely be back for another round when we can. Well done Ogbourne Down GC and 5 ⭐'s from me all day long.
Jack Francis: Great course and great value. The 18 holes panini and a pint package was nice addition to a great afternoon.
D B: Stunning download course
