Great Western Hospital: what do users think?
Dash Maya: Compassionate and they do care about your health issues and try to help you to there best.
Richard Talmage: There is plenty of public car spaces and the hospital is just off jct15 M4.
Nicki Styles: This is such a large hospital I assume that some wards are better than others. Some staff will be better than others.Even with written protocols, the hospital messes up blood tests.Tried to administer incorrect epilepsy drug dose. Only I spotted it.Don't call for the expertise of specialists either.I WOULD NEVER leave a vulnerable loved one here unattended! If this is a sign OF our NHS the future is bleak. One star for the very few amazing staff members we came across.
Simon Richards: Poor. Twice now had to use the Urgent Treatment centre for our baby and each time they are quick to triage you but then no one in the waiting room after triage gets to be seen in the consultation room for hours. There just seems no nurse or doctors around for hours. So you have a massively busy waiting room of post-triage patients. It’s like they are artificially creating big queues for political reasons.
Brian Haddrell: During my short stay at this hospital i was treated with more respect than I could have imagined. The nursing staff were totally amazing and attentive as were all the staff. The hospital was beautifully clean and all the staff worked really hard. This is the one service I find most important and I think should have their overdue pay reviews looked into to give them the overdue reward they obviously deserve.
Becky McCance: Yesterday we had a very scary evening with our son ending up in Swindon Great Western Hospital 🏥We are SO thankful to all the NHS workers and paramedics that looked after Rocco and reassured us. Ross & I agree The Nurse Staff were particularly AMAZING ⭐️The NHS needs recognition when it is incredible! We are SO lucky to have it! 🍀Rocco is now home and on round the clock medication but on the mend ❤️‍ Many complain about the NHS but the care our child just received from nursing staff and one of his doctors was worth posting about! If you ever find yourself in Swindon children’s ward keep your eyes peeled for Rocco’s ceiling tile Thank You NHS 💙
bobbie: my uncle died here but hospital is ok 👍
kinga wychowaniec: my nan died 🤑
Maria Lewis: Serious safeguarding issues your vunarable relatives are not safe at GWH
Anne Hicks: Thank you very much for the excellent care my 93 year old Mum received from the A & E department today. Everyone was so kind and caring, can't remember all your names but, especially Louise the Doctor, Aarti the medical student and Emma the Physio and the CT staff. My Mum was also referred to the Eye Clinic where she was seen by Joseph. He was very pleasant and reassuring and I wish everyone would be like him. Thank you.
Uhunoma O-Udue: I’ve had a pleasant experience all the times I have had to come into the hospital. I have only been for scans so far and I am seen to very quickly after arriving. Also, bicycle parking is available to the right of the main entrance. Just thought to mention it as I didn’t see it mentioned here or on the hospital website. Thanks
alex luckes: This place just let my mum die . Just because she was 95 it didn’t mean they should give her less help . After trying antibiotics which she failed to respond well to they just said she has had it ! Stuck us in a room and let her dehydrate and starve for a week . No wonder she is dead . Wouldn’t even consider extra help no matter how I tried . I wouldn’t treat my cat at end of their life as badly as they did my lovely mum . And the lovely daily parking charge was the icing on the cake
Maria Lynch: The volunteers on the front desk are amazing
Sayed H: My partner had a emergency during the covid lockdown, reception staff who would not even give me a moment to speak or explain what my concerns were with her, they were more bothered I waited outside and were very rude, judgemental and abnoixous about this. I was extremely worried and upset leaving my partner all alone in the waiting room in a vunerable state. The whole place was empty, no risk of covid whatsoever, when I looked through the window the three ladies in reception were having a good old chat with one another, seemed to be enjoying having no one in the A&E waiting room. Covid gave them a excuse to pretty much not care about any other other illnesses but Covid. If they had taken the time to listen to my concerns throughout the ordeal my partner may of survived. Totally unforgivable, considering these awful restrictions were implemented by crooks such as Matt Hancock, Boris Johnson, Chris Whitty, Patrick Vallance who to my disgust were having parties, affairs and doing whatever they wished. I wasn't even allowed to be beside my partner that night, nor the first night she passed away (things didn't get better at the ICU ward, where the miserable head nurse seemed to be on a power trip not allowing me to visit my dying partner due to restrictions, I literally had to beg and plead, explained that this is my last chance to see her alive, only on the second day I was finally allowed, I had lost that precious night thanks to this horrid woman. She even had the audacity to make offensive comments, judgments, showed zero compassion a total sociopath).Unforgivable, unprofessional, not sure where all our hard earned taxes go, clearly they are underfunded, mismanaged and don't have the funds to employ the best staff who are compassionate and enjoy helping people.
Rosario Waterlow: Family member was in hospital staff were very kind
Anistatia Miller: Staff was wonderful—compassionate and professional. The support team has been unbelievable. More that I could ever have expected. Thank you so so much.
Courts YT: Apart from the 70 hour wait time to get a bed and having to pay for the tv, I couldn’t say a bad word otherwise. My dad had a heart attack and they did one operation and he was back to what seemed like normal and then he was out the next day after his surgery. Made him quit smoking and junk food/takeaways too, which is a bonus! He feels so much healthier now and is breathing amazing! The nurses and doctors were so caring and understanding/patient (they really take into account peoples anxiety), they looked after him very well:) He has to take tablets for the rest of his life now but they’ve saved his life and given him the right information (so many detailed booklets) on how to maintain a healthy diet and life-style, so helpful!Another bonus is that their food is absolutely lovely and the staff in the restaurant are also very friendly.Thankyou Swindon!(Never go to Gloucester unless you want to get even more sick or get killed)
Melanie Hillier: Compassionate, professional staff care during my recent stay on Beech ward. Wonderful team who should be proud of the care they deliver. Thank you!!
Crisan Daniela: Worst experience ever
Gina: Newer A&E waiting room design is more comfortable and comforting, can say I'd be pleased if this design was stretched across into other areas (especially waiting rooms) of GWH. Waiting hours are still long went twice in one month and waited over 2 hours each time but I can see that many nurses, assistants and doctors are indeed working as swift and caringly as possible.Kudos to those who care it really made the difference in my visits.
brenda reach: Good experience at Dermatology wren unit. Short wait, speedy biopsy, hardly noticeable stitches on my face, and followup letter in 7 days. Thankyou Dr K. Only negative was parking charges. BR.

Shalbourne Private Health Care: what do users think?
Hannah Beute: Been to see Mr Singranger today. He was fabulous. Very informative, carried out a thorough examination of my leg, put me right at ease!! Excellent bedside manner and asked lots of engaging and relivant questions. I did not feel rushed and was so happy with the appointment!! I would highly recommend him!!!
Ella roberts: All the staff were very kind and caring before and after my operation was happy with all my treatments and after care thank u so much for looking after me xx
Paramotor Simon Westmore Training: Not quite what I was expecting but ok.
Stuart F: The staff at the hospital are fantastic as are the consultants. I have never had any trouble and found the nurses to be super nice and helpful. I never had any food whilst at The Shalbourne so unable to comment, this was my choice. The room was nice and bright with a nice Tv to watch and the Wi-Fi was very good. I would certainly recommend the Shalbourne, much better than the BMI hospital but of course that is my opinion.
Hammond Fly Fishing: Pretty poor really for private health care
Karen Shepherd: Inadequate facilities after a hip and pelvis reconstruction operation. Left for two hours without being hooked up to the morphine machine less than 24 hours after the operation as the nurse was “busy”. Heard her saying “oh he can wait, it’s only pain relief”.Also nurses and physio not reading my notes stating non weight bearing on the operated hip..... trying to get me to sit in seats that were too low, Zimmer frames that were too short. I’m only on day 3 x
