Park Farm Campsite is a wildlife haven - it's part of an organic dairy farm spread over 250 acres of peaceful Wiltshire countryside 10 minutes’ drive from Royal Wootton Bassett.

A stay here will give you something of a glimpse into proper farming life: around 120 cows are milked twice daily, and you’ll be able to see them and a small herd of Belted Galloway beef cows going about their life in the neighbouring fields. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quite and very clean area. Very clean toilets. I highly recommended this place for family with children, old people or people with dogs.

The main field is quite uneven ground and sloping on most pitches, which made it difficult to find a decent area to pitch the tent.

Also every pitch has a large fire 'bucket' area, and for the evening i was there a large majority of the pitches had a fire at the same time (between 6-9pm). Personally this lead to the field becoming unpleasantly smokey, and a quick change of wind direction can mean that your tent is filled with smoke. This may not bother some, but i felt maybe a separate area for a communal fire could be more appropriate - which means there could be a larger area for people who wish to spend time in a smoke free area.

Campsite is nice and quiet, pitches are spread apart with plenty of room, toilets immaculate, fresh eggs available and lovely views, very well priced, 10/10 would stay again

Everything. Having only started camping again this year. Really enjoyed our stay. The site was huge with not many pitches. Lovely view. Clean toilets. Allowed campfires. Would have happily stayed another night if work didn’t mean we had to leave. Much preferred it to larger sites that allow caravans and your all squashed together.

We absolutely love it here and this time was the best trip yet lovely pitch with some stunning views will definitely be back again very soon!

How peaceful the site is ..I really rate the fact there are limited spaces to allow you some space and peace from other campers...although everyone was friendly!

The compost loo was one of the best I've seen for comfort! The view in to the valley was gorgeous. We slept outside on the floor to watch the mentor shower for a while! Just perfect! There's also an honesty box with local produce:)

Blackland Lakes was established in 1984. It is situated in Wiltshire, in beautiful countryside close to the Marlborough Downs, secure, well away from busy main roads, secluded and generally peaceful.


The 15 acres comprises 6 tree lined camping paddocks and three small lakes, two for coarse fishing and one as a nature reserve for wildfowl. There are 180 pitches for Caravans, Campervans, Motorhomes and Tents, 130 with electricity and 15 hardstanding, fully serviced ' Premium Pitches'.

Glamping Accommodation for Badminton Horse Trials - Reasons to Choose The Retreat

The accommodation and facilities were fantastic and the bar was a great place to unwind after a day walking around the course or endless shopping and discuss the days activities around a fire pit was just perfect! Comfortable beds and only a very short walk to everything was a bonus. Will be booking again!


Wonderful convenient setting and fabulous facilities almost made you forget you were living under canvas! This will definitely be an annual pilgrimage now, the only thing I would possibly change/suggest would be to have the option of an en-suite loo/basin in the 4 bed tent (obviously would be prepared to pay extra). The restaurant/bar was a great addition and welcome hub to the campsite, and the porters/helpers were always friendly and willing to help. Emily herself was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for an unforgettable weekend!

10/10. I had a very luxurious stay in one of the bell tents. There was a lovely atmosphere and the whole glamping site was so full of character. I would definitely stay again... can't wait for next year!

We had such a great time at The Badminton Retreat. It was beautifully set up, with really comfortable beds and excellent facilities and entertainment. The restaurant was fantastic – the perfect space for meeting people and enjoying great food and drinks. The Retreat is perfectly located with easy access to the trot-up and stables, making it very convenient for owners wishing to check in on their horses and meet riders in the restaurant. Having car parking on site and immediate access to the road made it simple to get to. I can wholly recommend it!”
