Swindon Museum & Art Gallery: what do users think?

Linda Ford: There is a exhibition at the moment from Severnake community centre, there is a show case of knitted famous dolls as well as other things. The museum has now been moved to the first floor of the Civic Offices.

Simon Hancock: was nice place

Francis dukes: Amazing friendly staff and a good atmosphere to relax and enjoy the history of Swindon

Robert Sadler: Nicely displayed work. Would be nice to see more of the collection.

Mark Wilson: Brilliant for an afternoon.

Wendy Braidford: A hidden gem in Swindon. They have various events for children in the holidays and plenty to see there. It's quite small so it's about an hour for a visit, 2 if you have to argue with a small child over gift shop items. Definitely worth a visit.

Alan P: Very interesting, an amazing collection

E Chivers: Quite a hidden gem, free entry and lots to see inside, room after room of interesting items and art. Mostly surprised to see an Egyptian mummy. Not everything relates to Swindon directly, but lots of it does. Happy to have discovered this.

Chris Shakespeare: Lovely small museum. Very warm, fun stuff for the kids and the staff are first class

Karen W: Amazing museum, if a little hard to find! Spent a couple of hours here on the Easter holidays learning about the GWR. The films dotted around give a real insight to what life was like in the train sheds plus there are a couple of interactive displays - signals and train driving - which my son enjoyed. Jack: Have lived in Swindon for many years but first time visiting and wish we had sooner! A great little museum for those with any interest in computers or gaming. We had a great time reminiscing on old consoles and devices and playing some classic games before our time.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

Stefan Baldovic: Prosperous

Ph93: Great historic items and games. Loved Lemmings. Staff were quiet and polite.

Matt Nye: I had a really cool time here today! So many computers and consoles from every era... some of which i'd never even heard of! Amazing hands on experience. I enjoyed playing Flimbo's Quest on Commodore 64 which was the first game i ever owned. Great voluntary staff who are very friendly and knowledgable.

Marcus Nye: Great museum we found while in the area today. Entry price is reasonable and a great collection all run by volunteers. Highly recommend paying a visit. Had a great chat with someone in there today about Commodore, and also modern ways to load games on these classic systems like via SD card readers etc. had a go on pong multiplayer, played some c64 and amstrad, plus a great Amiga 1200 fully loaded with games to try.

Stuart Millar: . Unfortunately, he was busy talking to someone else when it came time to leave, so I wasn't able to confirm that the Amiga was indeed king in that particular battle.Anyway, I digress. The volunteers are friendly and willing to chat if you want to. The price was a massive surprise. For the fun we had, we feel the visit was an absolute bargain. If you have the slightest interest in computers or video games, you have to pay this place a visit.

Royal Army Chaplains’ Museum: what do users think?

Mum Mum: Inspiring and very thought provoking experience, the tranquil location, attractive modern building, warm welcome from the staff member on duty & the well organised displays combine to make this a great visit. Very highly recommended. The only caveats are the lack of loos, and it was quite difficult to find because there were traffic diversions due to roadworks

Dominic Witherow: A wonderful, informative and moving exhibition. Very small, but packed with fascinating artefacts and information about this truly heroic part of the army. Well, we’ll worth a visit!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

Tania Letovaltseva: What a wonderful job is done in this museum to highlight the important vocation of military chaplains.

Frank Brown: Wonderful museum well worth a visit

D Y: Informative, lots to see and not too big.

Peter Acres: Fascinating history of the Army and religion

Chriss Page: I work there

John Ferrier Rice: I visited the Museum of Army Chaplaincy at Amport House in Amport, Hampshire and I really enjoyed it.It is a small museum but well worth a visit. It highlights the role of faith in the Army as well as the bravery of the Chaplains, some of whom have been awarded the Victoria Cross medal for their bravery.I was particularly interested in the role of the Jewish Chaplains in the Army. And also the role of Roman Catholic Chaplains within the Army.It has a computer interactive display with a touch screen which is worth looking at.If you want to visit the Museum of Army Chaplaincy and are travelling from a long way away and need to stay somewhere nearby I would recommend staying at the Travelodge in Andover which is situated right next to the British Army Headquarters in Andover. You can walk from the Travelodge in Andover to the Museum of Army Chaplaincy at Amport and it is a lovely walk.If you drive it is a 5 minute drive. Please remember that if you want to visit the Museum of Army Chaplaincy:1. You need to book a visit in advance.Contact details are on the website.2. You need photographic ID as well to enter the Museum like a driving licence or a passport.I would recommend a visit to the Museum of Army Chaplaincy in Amport.

Luiz Marques: Amazing!

chris clarke-williams: We did not see the museum as such but we were at Amport House helping to set up for a wedding reception there. It is an amazing setting.
