Fabulous Fibreistas: what do users think?
Catharine Smith (Hedgehog and Hoot): I had a wonderful time learning to make socks with the Fabulous Fibreistas. Over the three sessions both Chris and Sam expertly and very patiently showed me how to create a gorgeous, perfect fit, pair of socks that I now wear regularly. I’ve gone on to make more socks and plan to eventually only have hand knits in my sock drawer!

Eastcott Studios: what do users think?
Simon Hitchings: A fun evening doing the pottery taster hour. Managed to throw a pot in a group of 6 under the guidance of Jo.Recommended! 😊Parking is very limited so I would park in Regent Circus cp just down the road. Cash or ParkGo app.
Victoria Angood-Morse: Eastcott Studios is my happy space. Jo instills confidence in her gentle teaching methods and I love coming to the studio. Raku events are so special - an absolute must.
Jon Rutt: Really friendly lovely place. Lots to see and do. Open Mic once a month. Great musicians and genres of music. Well worth a visit!
Sean Miller: Raku sessions back to back for a full day of fun. Great atmosphere and she left us the freedom to play with our ideas and try things, and gave advice when we were doing something that was not going to work well. Great experience. I would bring some bisque fired pieces now that I know what I'm doing. Great experience!
Kim H: Relaxed environment and friendly helpful tutor. All materials supplied and suitable for all abilities. I attended a day experience in November and loved it.
jayne hardaker: Jo is great, very friendly and knowledgeable, caters for all abilities.A fun time had by all.
jessica cain: Cafe inside and pottery studio in the garden filled with marvellous creations. I really recommend this place if you like craft.
Simon Rhodes: Brilliant afternoon raku firing. Lovely people, lovely place. If you haven't visited it's a must lots of different art classes and lovely cafe.
Rosemarie Orwin: Relaxed atmosphere. Great coffee and service
claire forbes: I came across Eastcott Studios by accident but the classes changed my life for the better.Jo is a fantastic person who is extremely helpful. She’s very relaxed and the studios have a lovely atmosphere, but at the same time she is very organised.I had A preconceived idea that I would end up making a little dish, but on my first lesson I showed interest in the fairy houses and Jo asked me if I would like to try making one! I was thrilled that she trusted me enough to have a go. After a few sessions it was finished and I was very pleased with the resultNine months on and I’ve gone from strength to strength and I’m even managing to sell a few items.None of this would have been possible without Jo’s kindness, enthusiasm and great sense of humour. The studio is very well equipped and has recently had a makeover. Everything is provided and at the present time it’s been adapted for safe social distancing. Many many thanks to Jo and all the lovely people I’ve met over the last few months.
Denise Dine: I have had many an enjoyable time exploring different techniques of working with clay with the help from Jo, who was really friendly and helpful and encouraging when it didn’t go quite as planned.
Peter Bain: Big thumbs up for Eastcott Studios from me. I've been going to the drop-in sessions for quite a while now and Jo has always been very welcoming. She works extremely hard to show and teach newbies the joys of working with clay, with techniques such as slabbing, pinching, hand building and throwing. Always done with a smile and lighthearted, friendly approach. I would definitely recommend anyone to give it a go...!!
margaret Thomas: I found the owner misleading and unreasonable. Buyer Beware.
Carol McCurrach: Just spent the day here on an intro to pottery day course..thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommended. Thanks to great teacher Jo. 4 items made using different techniques...looking forward to returning to paint them.😀👍
Sheridan Parsons: My son and I enjoyed a fantastic hour at Eastcott Studios learning the basics of throwing pots. Our session finished far too soon! Jo was patient, encouraging and helpful. I can highly recommend this studio for children and adults!

Sewing and Craft School: what do users think?
Diana Jennison: Jacky is an amazing teacher and has the patience of a saint! I particularly find verbal instructions difficult and prefer to see something visually. She 'held my hand' and guided me through adding a large button hole into my dog's coat so that I could clip her car harness into the seat belt without removing the coat. Without me asking for a video Jacky found the perfect one on YouTube & sent it through quickly. A fantastic service even though I'm 200 miles away. Many thanks Jacky xx
Sue Porter: My sewing teacher is a very good teacher have made loads of dresses including mother of the bride tops and skirts brilliant 👏 😀 😄
Rosanagh Wyatt: Before going to Jacky's sewing school, I would have considered myself quite an accomplished sewer; I've made various gifts and clothes (including my own wedding dress) but with Jacky I actually learnt to do everything properly! She gave really clear instructions and guidance on how to make my garment and all with patience and a smile! I had picked up some very bad habits and shortcuts which led to me often not wearing the things I had made. Jacky teaches you everything from start to finish and leads by example.I had such fun doing the course with Jacky and I intend to go back in the future - it's a perfect course for beginners but also people like me who never learnt things properly the first time around! You're guaranteed an outfit worthy of wearing and weekly giggles!
Niamh Adams: Really enjoyed learning to cross stitch and do patchwork in a relaxed, friendly environment with lots of joy and laughter in the lessons. Jacky has so much knowledge and talent in craft and is so patient, she takes lots of time to explain so you understand, adapting to different learning styles. I learnt so many skills and had so much support with no rush to complete things. Thank you Jacky! x
Nic Scolari: I was looking for a sewing teacher to teach me to use my various sewing machines and overlockers to a better degree.I found Jacky while looking online. I messaged her very late at night [ I do not recommend you do this] and was surprised ot get an almost immediate response. A few messages were exchanged and a date was set for my first lesson.Since then I have learned how to read a pattern correctly, choose the right fabric, do all the little fiddly things I never learned properly how to do until now. I am no lnger ashamed to wear anything that I make.I have also seen the breadth of her knowledge with regards to almost any craft that can be done with a machine, sticks, hooks or a needle. It takes time to learn these things, you won't be coming out a Donatella Versace after one lesson, but I can guarantee you that you will learn everything you want and more importantly, need to learn to make anything you desire out of any fabric or yarn. She will also always go that extra mile to help, no question is too ridiculous, and I would recommend her to teach you regardless of what experience you have. You will learn something new every time. And all of this comes with free laughter and a cup of tea.
Dawn Boyle: I was walking down Haverlock Street a few years ago and saw the sign for the sewing school I decided to go in. That was one of the best decisions I made. This lady, Jacky is one amazing person. In the time I have been with her she has shown me how to do silk ribbon embroidery, hardanger, patchwork, cross stitch and lastly how to crochet. She has the patience of a saint because I not the easiest person to teach. But she let’s me have my say throw my toys out my pram and then explains why we do things a certain and yes I always end up with the most beautiful works. I now class her as my friend and thoroughly enjoy her company and enjoy my time sewing and exploring new aspects of crafting. If anyone wants to have an amazing time learning new skills this is the is the school you need to contact. It comes highly recommended.

Little Acorn Crafts: what do users think?
Louise Gallavin: Beginners crochet workshop was great.. ive never been successful when attempting from videos etc however with patience, tea and biscuitsI actually managed to crochet and looking forward to carrying on the pattern at home.Roll on the next workshop
Emma Louise: The first person able to teach me how to crochet! After 2 prior classes with no success! Now I'm obsessed and crocheting a whole blanket!
Catharine Smith (Hedgehog and Hoot): What a brilliant afternoon I’ve had mixing colours, dying yarn and fibre. Chris has an amazing knack of using the basic dye stock to mix the exact colours that I wanted. I was looking to get some fibre that i’d be able to use to make felted beetles.I’ve been back to Little Acorn Crafts and dyed a batch of fleece in the colours of blue bells to use on felted landscapes of spring woodlands.
