Claire Thorne: We had an excellent and enjoyable wedding day in May 2022. Food excellent, organisation superb, Cat brilliant about asking lots of questions we hadn't thought of. Very accommodating. Talia excellent suggestions for menus. Gorgeous period venue and grounds. Stayed overnight in regency rooms with a fabulous breakfast next day. The evening buffet seemed to be cleared away a little early and it was commented upon that some dishes were astonishingly depleted. Thank you for a wonderful day to you both and all your staff.

Sabrina Higgins: We got married here in August 2021 and it was amazing.We fell in love with the venue and just had the best day.Cat was always on hand when I had questions about the day and making sure everything ran smoothly.Talia was amazing with the food, locally sourced and beyond scrummy.We chose what alcohol we wanted behind the bar, we brought some of our own champagne and flowers for the table.It’s a collaboration between the guest and the venue and that’s really special.The support staff on the day were brilliant, so helpful and happy and kept everyone fed and watered very well!!We stayed the night before the wedding, they have three cute rooms upstairs, and had a lovely breakfast on the day with my family.The day after the wedding we had a lovely breakfast again and then went on our merry way.The whole experience was enjoyable and the venue is to die for!If you want a beautiful wedding with an informal, family vibe then this is the perfect wedding venue.

Georgina Tyson: We chose Purton House as our wedding venue after I fell in love with the house, grounds and super friendly owners and staff during a work away day held there a few years ago. We had originally booked to marry in summer 2021 but as soon as the pandemic hit we contacted Talia and Cat who were very understanding and kindly agreed to move the wedding to summer 2022 at little extra cost. We had our ceremony and reception there, both went perfectly. We were well looked after the entire time, all the way through to breakfast the next morning.Talia and Cat were amazing and very helpful. We could always arrange to view the house and grounds to get ideas and aid our planning. They always responded quickly to our emails and nothing was too much trouble.The house is absolutely beautiful, we barely did any decorating as it has so much character already. It’s like a mini Downton Abbey. The price is extremely reasonable, especially with everything like the food included. We really liked that all the rooms were separate so people could dance in one room, sit with friends and family chatting over glasses of wine in the dining room, play games of cards in the bar/library room and enjoy the gardens outside. We’ve had so many people post-wedding tell us how beautiful and unique the venue is, it’s a hidden gem in the countryside just outside of Swindon.One of the huge benefits was being able to choose and design our own menu for the wedding breakfast. We chose pate to start, a full roast with bucket loads of cheesy potatoes for main and a chocolate brownie for dessert. Everyone was raving about how incredible the food was. The evening buffet of cheese, meat, crackers, bread etc was the perfect thing to keep people going.We would 100% recommend Purton House as a wedding or event venue.

Mark Burge: I attended Purton House recently to celebrate a family wedding. It was an extremely joyous occasion and a wonderful chance to catch up with relatives and friends of both parties. Going to Purton House is a like stepping back into a timewarp, there is hardly a modern-day styled feature in the place, although I didn't look in the food preparation area where I guess they don't roast the meat on a spit anymore. The many period decorations and furniture give it a charming feel, it has either been left as it was from times gone by or a very clever designer has had a field day. From the boars head, just inside the entrance door to the, less than PC hunting and shooting pictures in the loo and countless nic-nacs, it all felt very genuine.The service from the friendly staff was second to none and nothing was too much trouble. However, some things were a bit tired, especially the gardens and grounds, which are probably not what everyone would get or want to see, but some sympathetic restoration and careful re-decorating inside would do marvels to enhance the overall experience.I don't know what the cost of the particular event that I attended was, so I can't comment on that aspect, but I was impressed how natural it felt to be in such a place. Anyone looking for a 'Period' venue should consider Purton House in the first instance.

P B: We had our wedding here a couple of weeks ago and would highly recommend Winkworth Farm. As soon as we visited we knew it was the perfect venue for us. I cannot fault Jeremy and Tom, they were incredibly helpful, organised and friendly. Jeremy and Tom’s communication throughout the whole process and on the day was impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble, the response time was so fast and they genuinely cared about making our day as special as possible. Winkworth are so accommodating to any requests you have and they go out of their way to ensure you have the most amazing day.The venue itself is amazing, there is plenty of space and there is a beautiful garden as well as other pretty flowers which make the perfect photo back drops. We also had a couple of nights in The Courtyard Barn which was great as it is such a nice cottage. It was perfect to get ready in on the morning of our wedding and we also had a hamper delivered the day after our wedding.We hope to be able to return in the future as wedding guests as it really is a great wedding venue!

Throughout the whole process the team at Oxleaze were incredible and made us feel completely at ease. Being run by a family as opposed to a typical wedding type organisation gave such a unique and special feel to the experience, we really felt valued. I had always dreamt of a winter wedding in the Cotswold countryside, the sort you see in a fairytale and Oxleaze delivered just that. We had the most magical perfect day in the most gorgeous setting. We could not have asked for a better experience or day. I had a mishap with a very special earring that I thought was lost forever but Oxleaze were not about to let that happen….at the end of our honeymoon I got a call to say my earring had been found and was waiting. Above and beyond really is what this team do. Oxleaze will forever hold such a special place in our hearts ❤️

Kath, our wedding coordinator on the day, was a superstar and everything ran exactly how we'd dreamt it would with no stress. The gardens are stunning, seemingly all year round, making the perfect backdrop. We planned our wedding in only eights weeks with the support of Faye and the team at Oxleaze, who couldn't of done any more to help us if they tried. Amazing team. On the day we were supported by Charlie as events manager who completely smashed it, she fitted in perfectly and guided us through the day so everything ran so smoothly. We had clear communication with the venue throughout, emails were replied to promptly and nothing was ever too much.
