We found Gibsons bar and had the best time. The music was perfect, the customers there were all really really nice people and the owner was such a nice guy.... And incredibly talented with playing the guitar.The staff were great too.I highly recommend this place.I can't sing it's praises high enough.To the owner: if you're ever in Brighton... Come and find me x

Nathan “Nate” Smart: Updated review:Change in hands since we last came but still an amazing atmosphere and delicious food.Oysters are still here and delicious as always. Some great garnishs, particularly the Asian one.Food was phenomenal, with amazing flavours and combinations I hadn't had before. The presentation of it all and how it was brought out really brought it all together making it a lovely experience.Staff are very friendly and really show their passion in their food which doesn't feel gimmicky nor overwhelming but adds to a great restaurant experience.We will definitely be coming again. We want to try something else off the menu but I don't know, as I was won over by what we had!
Fiona Marlow: I'd not been here before but wanted somewhere central for a meet up with a couple of friends. I couldn't be more happy with everything. Great cozy atmosphere, really nice decor, our waiter was Ryan and he was just lovely, perfect amount of attentiveness without being too much. The food was gorgeous, we all ordered different things and all were fabulous. Particularly recommend the oysters, scallops and hake. Great night all round, will be back very soon 😊
Susan Leeburn: Wow!!!! Dan and the team, put on an amazing party night for my other half Russell to celebrate his 60th birthday, over 100 guests with a zoned area and we partied all night long!Fab DJ, amazing service from the bar team and nothing was too much trouble. A huge thank you to Ryan, Toby, Finn and James for keeping our friends glasses topped up and a great job too from the Food Crew who we asked to get involved with feeding our guests with a steady stream of delicious pizzas.It's five stars from us!!!This is our local.... we wouldn't have gone anywhere else because we knew we were in the safest of hands! Cheers to The Royal Oak!!!!

The starters took some time to arrive, but when it was revealed that the chef had prepared the calamari gluten-free, especially for me, the delay was understood and completely forgiven. Any coeliac will know how rare it is to enjoy a plate of calamari. It was delicious. Mum had to order herself another plate of gluten calamari, which came quickly.For our mains, we shared the halloumi salad and pan-fried salmon. Both plates were cleared. I especially enjoyed the bursts of sweetness from the diced dried pineapple and the crunch of the seeds in the salad.For pudding, I tried their Indian carrot pudding. It is something I'll definitely be having again.The coffee was also very nice.We had a wonderful experience, the staff, the space, and the food all top-notch. We have plans to return next week. I'm very much looking forward to it.

michael thompson: Frea was very professional from the get go and made us feel very welcomed with a warming smile. Service was spot on during our time with you. The only small let down was the full rack of ribs being too dry and hardly any sauce on it. Frea did ask if I wanted them replaced with new but I declined as I didn’t want to waste food so I fixed the problem with some table bbq sauce myself which was no drama.Would like to thank Frea and the team for their time and lovely food as always! Will see you again soon!

The food was fresh and good.The rooms were clean and well appointed.All in all, highly recommended.The only negative is that the car park is small.
