The central beds of the Botanical Gardens have been transformed by the Gardeners with new perennial planting plans designed for each bed and planted in 2023.

The Friends of the Botanical Gardens were honored with The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK.

Visitors can expect to see something of interest throughout the year at the Botanical Gardens, from herbaceous borders from late March to mid October to a variety of glasshouses offering shelter in inclement weather.

Within the glasshouses at the Botanical Gardens, visitors can find fine specimens of rare and exotic plants from around the world.
