The Keeper's Cottage: what do users think?
DIANA BURGESS: Just returned from an amazing stay at Clyne Woodland Cottages. An idyllic location with beautiful woodland. Our group of 10 brought our horses and enjoyed hacking in the forest and trips to the beach. The cottages are pretty, comfortable and have everything we needed. Totally recommend. The Clyne Farm team are brilliant too!
Hannah Wilkens: We always have a fantastic time at Clyne Farm and have returned numerous times. Most recently we stayed as a large group in The Keeper's Cottage and Barn Owl Lodge. The two properties can interlink and they are absolutely perfect for a large group (be it all adults, or family groups with kids). The location (which is easily found thanks to the excellent instructions provided by the owners) is beautiful and secluded, surrounded by woodland and stunning views - so there are no concerns about noise or disturbing other properties. The charm of this place is that it is family-run and the owners and staff are so helpful and welcoming. The welcome pack with Welsh goodies - and even a Mr Men/ Little Miss book for the kids - is such a lovely touch. The digital guidebook is a great idea and provides all the information you need - and if you want any more tips on places to visit then the knowledgeable and friendly owners/ staff are full of ideas. There were so many places to explore within a short drive. The Gower Peninsula and its stunningly beautiful beaches is a particular bonus for staying here, as well as lots of great walking and the Swansea neighbourhood of Mumbles (full of independent shops and boutiques, and home to arguably the world's best ice cream!) just down the road. The kids were in heaven - big garden and woods to play in, lots of places for hide and seek, and trips to the main farm for horse-riding and visiting the animals.Highly recommend The Keeper's Cottage and Barn Owl Lodge for large groups. We will be back!
Aaron Stanley: Booked Keeper's cottage and the Barn Owl cottage interconnected for a stag weekend. Great location with no worries about making too much noise for neighbours or other parties. Well furnished and looked after properties and exactly what we were after. Clyne Farm Centre and team were helpful and supportive throughout. Would highly recommend.
Marcin Leway: Super place in a complete remote area. If you want to relax in the wildery, I recommend it. The road through the forest is really demanding .
Suzie Huntington: Just returned home after a 3 night weekend stay. We hired 4 cottages for 19 friends, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Clyne Farm kept us informed throughout the booking process and couldn't have been more helpful. The cottages were lovely. The view is stunning. Would recommend.
Amy Misson: Wow, what a stay. Being fairly local in my younger years, I'd often passed this cottage on a woodland walk and wondered what it was like inside. Well what better chance to try than a friends reunion. The cottages do not disappoint! Much bigger than expected. Loads of places to relax and unwind. Modern bathrooms with great showers. Comfy beds. Amazing touches. Yummy welsh cakes by the way. Staying in the cottages was a real treat. I would heartily recommend.
Katy Hartley: I stayed at Keepers Cottage with a group of friends and our children this month and I cannot praise our stay enough. We had such a lovely time and made the most of the cottages’ perfect location in the middle of the woods for some lovely, leafy autumn walks. The cottage is also perfectly placed between Swansea, Mumbles and Gower for days out or walks to the beach. The cottage itself is so cosy and comfortable. The bedrooms are well placed for keeping the little ones within hearing range whilst the adults enjoy the evenings in the lounge and there were plenty of facilities for cooking for a large group and eating and sitting together. The bedrooms and bathrooms have all been beautifully decorated and there was a lovely open fire for those colder evenings. Plenty of parking for lots of cars right next to the cottage and a beautiful secure garden for the children to play in . We hope to be back again soon!
hydar albedaery: An amazing place to get away from the city.
Emmanuel Emma: Very quite and nice rooms
Sharon Hext: WoW, what an absolutely stunning place to stay. We didn't want to leave. Quiet, deep in the woods, surrounded by trees and wildlife.fab walks, fab views and fab sunrises. Our dogs and children loved it. Can't wait to go again. Would definately recommend to everyone to stay here. Had everything we needed, and loved the welshcakes that were left out for us.
Carol Isherwood: So quite and descrete loved it.
Suraj Deo Singh: Great form house. Located in woods. Supportive staff.

arfan Kamora: Excellent self-catering place to stayRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Robin P: I had a fantastic stay at Uplands House. The house is very clean and has everything needed also for short- and long-term stays. Ffion has been an outstanding host, provided great recommendations, kept us in the loop about new guests etc. and responded quickly to any queries. The other guests were PhD-students or working professionals and all super friendly! I would definitely stay there again
Ricardo Bentini: I stayed in Uplands house last year for almost one month. The house is very cosy with a nice atmosphere, with big rooms, everything clean and organised. The house is located in a nice area, close to Swansea University and Singleton Park, besides restaurants, supermarkets and bars. Moreover, Ffion is a really nice and kind host, she replied quickly my messages, gave nice tips about Swansea. If you are thinking to visit Swansea or stay longer, do not hesitate to stay at Uplands house.
Nigel Moyo: I've stayed at the uplands house for multiple months and have had a brilliant experience. The house is well finished, near the heart of the city centre and Ffion is an excellent host! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone
Giuliano Ferrara: I stayed in the Uplands House for a month. I keep very good memories of my stay: the house is warm and welcoming, Ffion is a friendly and careful host, the other guests were very nice too. The house is not only very close to a branch of the university, but also to several supermarkets, pubs and bus stops. What more can you ask for?
Trina J: I stayed at Uplands House for a month when I needed to move to Swansea for a job. I stayed in Cwmdonkin Room, which was absolutely beautiful! It has so much space, and the bed is really comfortable. The house itself is gorgeous and has a lovely feeling to it. Ffion has worked hard to create a wonderful vibe; the kitchen has lots of storage space, and I liked popping a record on the record player when I was cooking. Also, the other guests who stayed at Uplands House were all so friendly! As it was my first time being in Swansea, I really appreciated being able to chat with other guests in the kitchen. I've even kept in touch with some of them! Ffion is also absolutely lovely and so happy to help and give recommendations for restaurants and advice on getting around.
David: I'm a working professional for London Underground however I've many family & friends in Swansea as I grew up there. After staying in copious hotels, bnb's etc for weeks on end in Swansea each year I can honestly say this place is absolutely out of this world!! And by far THE BEST of them all, without fail, this place is 'THE BEST IN SWANSEA!!!'From the moment I enquired, Ffion responded near on immediately & was so helpful with everything. The house is HIGH, HIGH spec & SPOTLESS. You have everything you need for self catering too & multiple bathrooms!!It's located on a picturesque tree lined street 4 min walk from the Uplands which is an absolute must for anyone visiting Swansea. Outstandingly good restaurants & bars. The main city centre is also within walking distance!! And make sure you see Mumbles & the Gower!! Absolutely stunning beaches!!! Best in the World!!A few tenants live at this property & are at the final years of post graduate university etc (*Extremely quiet, polite, respectful & very friendly) & it was an absolute pleasure to meet them the very rare moments I did see them. What a lovely arrangement!!I even had the pleasure of meeting Ffion's parents while she was away (they popped in to clear rooms etc) & they left complimentary drinks for the guests on the kitchen table as it was Christmas. They were such a lovely couple!! All the personal touches were just mindblowingly lovely!! This is Swansea hospitality at it's uttermost best!!I genuinely cannot recommend Uplands House highly enough!!!
Dom Riley: Having never been to Swansea before, I wasn't quite sure what to expect but Uplands House was a wonderful base to explore the area. Well-situated on a quiet street an easy walk from shops, park and crucially, the beach it was the perfect location. Combine that with a quirky array spacious, thoughtfully laid-out rooms, impeccably clean communal bathrooms and kitchen area and friendly management (shout out to Ffion!) and you have a truly winning formula. Would definitely stay again.
Alex Jennings: I stayed in the Clyne room of Uplands House, it was large, warm and quiet. The communal areas were clean and well furnished. The other tenants were all PhD students and working professionals who were very respectful and friendly. Ffion was a great host who always kept me up to date on what was happening and sorted things out quickly. It was a great location and close to the university. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, I highly recommend it and I plan to stay there again in the future.

The Mirador: what do users think?
Lucy Back: Loved this place, convenient location, very friendly hosts and the themed room was very well done..great fun...Will definitely be going backRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Isabella Sohrbeck: One of a kind hotel! This bed and breakfast definitely stands out, in a positive way. We stayed in the Egyptian suite on the top floor which was lovely. The fridge was filled with breakfast, there was a tiny bottle of sparkling rosé and chocolates on our pillows. There were a few things that we really enjoyed:1. There were 2 of each amenities which was great. Especially when someone like me with extremely long and thick hair uses almost an entire bottle of shampoo for 1 hair wash2. The amount of towels. It might sound weird but it’s one of those things that’s really nice when staying at a hotel. Especially if you take a shower in the morning and evening, you don’t have to worry about possibly using a damp/wet towelThere are very tiny things I would improve to get that fifth star:1. The water temperature, especially in the shower. Quite often the water was either boiling warm or icy cold2. The bath bombs. Such a great touch with making them available but they didn’t do much to the bath. They kind just dissolved without any bubbles, smell or colorOverall a great stay and a unique place we can definitely recommend!
Lisa Herbert: Really a gem and I loved our room and the bathroom space. The continental breakfast was used for our hiking and wow! So amazing. Communication from the hosts surpassed our expectationsRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Roger Strong: Our stay was for 2 nights. What a fabulous place. A room that makes you smile with a well stocked fridge and a bed that was so comfortable and personal WiFi too. The decor was so imaginative. It was very quiet as no pets or kids allowed! We loved it. We also visited Brewstone, a lovely restaurant nearby (less than 5 mins walk), recommended by the Mirador. That was lovely too. Can't wait to go back.Rooms: I think they only have 7 rooms.Noteworthy details: The owners trusted us and were very discreet.
Huw Richards: Spontaneously found this place while looking online. The host couldn't be more welcoming and polite. Only stayed here for 1 night but would definitely stay here again. The room was well kitted out and a complimentary mini bar including snacks.Very good value for money and would highly recommend.
Gavin Chris: We stayed in the French room for a one night stay. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in while away from home, while the room itself was exquisitely decorated. We also had a little terrace although sadly the weather didn't play fair to let us enjoy it ☹️.Breakfast is already in a fridge in your room - expect smoked salmon, cheese, meats, jam, butter as well as croissants and pain au chocolate. Oh, and a bottle of prosecco. We didn't arrive by car, but there is street parking available outside the hotel. Plenty of decent restaurants and bars in the vicinity too.All in all, a great little place far removed from the usual bland chains normally found in such cities.
Phil Lewin: We stayed in the Egyptian suite. Lovely room, with a well stocked fridge. Communication from Phil the proprietor was excellent, even telling us about a discount arrangement at BrewStone, down the road.I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere different to stay.
JeffnDee (Jeffndee): Loved this quirky hotel from the minute we walked in the door. Each room has a different theme. We stayed in the French room, which felt like staying in a French chateau! The bed was beautiful as was the huge mirrored wardrobe. Everything had a real chateau feel to it and we were very impressed with the attention to detail. The bathroom was in the same style with luxury fittings and a fab soaker shower with plenty of hot water. The price included continental breakfast which was lovely. Fresh croissants, smoked salmon, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, jam, marmalade, pain au chocolat, orange juice, tea, coffee. So much more than we expected!Phil, the owner, was lovely and very helpful. He gave us suggestions for places to visit locally as well as restaurants. He went the extra mile by leaving us a bottle of prosecco and glasses as it was our wedding anniversary. Our room had an outside decked area with table and chairs and rattan seating which was perfect for breakfast al fresco and relaxing in the evening with friends. The only minor thing we found was that the kettle and fridge was in an alcove which had a low ceiling. There were hooks on the wall above it which I did bang my head on a couple of times. Maybe remove the hooks? We would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Swansea. We had a lovely comfortable stay and the hosts were just lovely with great communication.
Colin Gill: GREAT location, situated in the Uplands with the many classy bars and restaurants in that area. The spectacular decor at the venue and the room added that little bit extra to our experience overnight. Ease with the booking process, simplicity with the checking-in process and such a comfortable night's sleep. We were particular fans of the extra little things our hosts left for their guests in the room. Will definitely be back.
Florence Bretonneau: The Mirador hotel is quite an unusual hotel. Each room has a specific theme, mine was African. Quite amusing as i came to Wales to pick up a kitten and i slept with a leopard just above my head. I was not expected the breakfast in the room. It has a mini fridge with all sort of goodies but for someone like me who has dairies allergy not ideal. There was no bread just chocolate croissant and croissant but very basic the ones you find on the aeroplane and due to dairy allergy this was no use for me. I am very used to modern big hotels with a breakfast room and buffet so this is not for me i think. Had it mentioned at the time of booking i would not have chosen this hotel. But never mind it was an experience, i tried something different.Hotel is very clean, the bed very confortable and the bathroom and shower tiny but nice pressure for the water.Below my room there was a group of people staying together in a room and they were extremely noisy, then morning same thing. Its an old house so noise can be heard easily. The people who own the hotel send you little messages throughout your stay so handy if there is a major problem, questions etc. They are doing their best for their guests to enjoy their stay.
Halloween UK: Very Friendly staff. Will be visiting again as soon as free.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Steve Tuite: Just been for a few days stay at The Mirador Boutique Town House in Swansea, South Wales, which has been run very well for nearly 20 years by Philip and Jeanette. This Town House has six themed rooms so whatever your tastes there is something to cater to your idea of wonderful. Philip and Jeanette have a good knowledge of the local area and can help with local orientation: the area has good bars and restaurants & live entertainment. Theatres and cinemas are within easy reach. Our room at the Mirador, The Venetian Suite; was beautifully furnished, had a large voice activated LED TV, Bose music system, along with a well-stocked fridge full of goodies, there was also a Kettle and Microwave. The en-suite was tastefully put together and the bath was lovely. We had fast reliable and secure Wi-Fi.We had a great time, we drove to Langland Bay and walked from there to Caswell Bay along the cliff walk. We walked back and then drove from there onward to Rhossili where we had a lovely walk down to and along the great beach. There is all this beautiful country within a short drive from the Uplands. In the evening we had a pub meal and watched the sun go down then back to the Mirador and a good night sleep in a very comfy bed. I think this stay away is worth 5 stars any and every day. Goodnight and sleep tight wherever you are.
Rosalind Evans: Just lovely highly recommend 🤩Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Martin A.H. Loyd: What an absolute delight! Utterly charming hosts, Philip & Jeanette, made us immediately welcome, attending to our every need and ensuring our "Fantaisie Parisienne" was a truely memorable one. Indeed, we were additionally spoilt with an unexpected "extra" which put the iceing on the cake for our wedding anniversary. Both iceing & cake were delicious, by the way! Great imagination plus warm hospitality ensures 5 genuine stars from us and our thorough recommendation. P & J - You're welcome!
Marie Powell: The hosts were absolutely fantastic. Text me prior to arrival so let me know about the area. The room was outstanding with a patio area, I have never stayed in room quite so unique. The fridge was stocked with everything for a continental breakfast, including smoked salmon and prosecco. I would 100 per cent recommend this hotel to everyone. Loved it....if I could give it more stars I would.
henry gregg: Themed rooms break from the usual monotony of hotel life on the road, each one individually decorated. Each room has its own private router to access the excellent WiFi. The bed was very comfy.Ensuite shower and bath. The selection on the TV second only to what I have at home.Kitchenette consists of kettle, microwave and fridge stocked with milk, cheeses, butter, salami, yoghurt boiled eggs juice and wine.Parking in the day is easy enough but in the evening it's a bit tricky.
Tom Mathie: Interesting place, owners very friendly, good location.
gareth green: The owner is lovley and can't do more to help you enjoy your stay. He has a great knowledge of the Gower and will guide you to the best spots and beaches. The room is warm, clean and unique. We had the French room. Lovley walk in shower and comfy bed.We will be coming back to this hotel. 5* from me.
