Jungle Bar: what do users think?
Matthew Watson: Is this the greatest place in the world? Whilst I have not visited the majority of the continents in this world, in fact I have very rarely ventured outside of Sunderland, I can answer this question with a categorical yes, yes it is.In today's everchanging world this bar (or experience as I prefer to call it) is unlike anything you will find whether you are in Tottenham or Timbuktu. The drinks are cheap, the music choices perfect and despite what the other review suggests; very, very covid friendly. In fact I would argue this is the safest place in the world, catching covid in here would be literally impossible. It also attracts the creme de la creme of Sunderland's who's who, the sign in sheet showed that in one night this bar had been visited by both Jon Bon Jovi and ex-president John F. Kennedy - Wow. Wherelse can boast such an exclusive list of drinkers.I implore you to visit this wonderful establishment if you are ever lucky enough to find yourself in Vine Place.
eleven xox: After visiting this place on saturday 25 th july my friends and i were disgusted at the lack of social distancing and lack of cleanliness in the toilets no toilet roll handwash soap dirty toilets.also vomit all over the stage a woman then attempted to clean the vomit up with a mop no water or attempt to wash the area. Around totally disgusting and health and safety risk.

Independent: what do users think?
Chris Sowels: Good venue, my son keddy performed a set with a couple of local bands.drinks bar not busy the evening we went. Load of radgees in the club next door were fighting though, sort of thing that can happen in any city TBF.
Stephanie Pringle: Great music to dance to great atmosphere
Chris Hall: Great for live bands. White noise were fantastic.
Scott Horabin: loved massive waggons rock on bro's
SR: As long as you know what you're booking before you go then you'll be fine, drinks are reasonable; 4.00 for a double on a Saturday night. Take it as you will. Tickets for the event itself was about £5 eachHowever mixer could also do with some advise some of the bands went through the entire night with lead singers being unheard because they didn't realise that the mic wasn't working. Unfortuanet for the bands that didn't mention it before hut come on if youre obsessive about music this is something you should have realised
Lee Fryer: Went to see Great Waves plus support at this excellent, grass-roots venue. The North-East is known for brilliant music and places to play, the Independent being one of the best.
Martin Edworthy: Good music venue, limited bar.
Ben Watson: Blue pint.
Andy Mux: Best live music venue in Sunderland.
Jamie Adams: The guy who sells aftershave is sound when it comes to bashing out lines in the toilets x
Jonny Brutal: Rocking venue
John Bell: Great venue watching Sinnerboy
Ian Carney: Great venue, not so great beer, hate plastic
Alan Hodgson: Great night had by all.
Linda Barella: Great place fan local talent and great atmosphere
Alex Stephenson: Decent, smallish, venue for gigs in the heart of Sunderland city centre. Sound is okay. Bar is okay. Two minutes from the nearest Metro and train station (Sunderland). Busses (Park Lane) are 5 minutes away. No parking available at the venue.
Kirk Kitson: Love the sesh and the blue pints. Inde for life.
Christopher Durant: Great little venue for watching some great up and coming bands. We went to watch The Snuts and it was brilliant. The atmosphere was out of this world.
Ian Robb: This is a venue for mostly students, there is live music every week,a good selection of beers, wines and spirits,it is based over 2 floors with plenty of room for dancing.
Lisa R: Music isn't the best but the drinks and vibe are great
Lazlo Bennassi: The lyrical poets who are paid to entertain are amazing and could possibly be under estimated in their word play genius. As Tennyson once said and I quote "they were areet them".
