Von Martin: The room was clean and tidy. The bed like all travelodges was so comfortable. Even though it was boxing day the room was cheap enough and the hotel was quiteWalkability: Was easy to get into town and nearby places
CrazyCat Lady: The staff are very welcoming and polite, stayed here nearly every month never had issue with noise with it close to bars. Never had issue with cleaning. It’s cosy and cheap and cheerful! Rooms are very clean and I continue to keep staying. Only issue i could say I possibly have is they should be ongoing receptionist at all times, without having to ring to check in

Anastasios Savvaidis: Sorry to change my review but....First, the nights are not so quiet as the ground floor hosts a club that plays music from 10 at night until late...Secondly, we asked to refresh our room and the only thing they did was change the bins and gave us two new paper rolls and 2 new towels after 3 days of stay ... No hoovering ( we left on purpose a piece of rubbish from a snicker pack on the floor and an empty box of irnbru wkd and an empty coke at the desk ; never touched them ) or changing any linens... They advertised in the room to refresh the room free of charge... Sad but at least they could clean a bit better ...Staff friendly and helpful at times you need them but I guess the management have gave them guidelines to do the least due cost of products I guess ...Great location and safe place to be too.Overall it's OK .

ABOVE: what do users think?
susan sweeney: Popped in for a drink to sit in the sunWe were greeted by two lovely ladies Erica and Michelle who were fantastic waitresses. They are an asset to your establishment and we will be highly recommending the Above as a place to visit in NewcastleIt’s the bar associated with the Vermont Hotel
Gary Mitchell: Overated, but Vue was good and watch out for the small print when pre booking you don't get your money back if you cancel and keep an eye on your bill they will try to charge you twice.
Dylan Simpson: Amazing staff as well as amazing viewsWhat else can you ask for
Tracy Young: Lovely lunch with friend & great setting.
Luke Mac: Massively overpriced and the main bar isn’t big enough to accommodate a big clientele. Me and my partner we were sat on a table right underneath the air con and speaker that plays music that’s far too loud for the size of the bar, as a result couldn’t have a conversation and couldn’t enjoy our drinks.
Anderson Munyua: If you happen to be in Newcastle… this is one place you have to visit. Very classy rooftop bar on the 12th Floor with AMAZING views. Had such an amazing time. The service is also 5* with very friendly staff and is also prompt. Only drawback is menu variety, could do with a few additions. That said its ABOVEall 5*
Yenlin Hu: View from ABOVE!! a good place to hang out and the food price is not bad. Cocktails are kinda expensive but you are paying for ambience as well.
Yassir LlL: I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Above rooftop bar in Newcastle, thanks in no small part to the amazing service provided by waiters Hamza and Aaran. These two went above and beyond to make my visit truly unforgettable, and I can't thank them enough for their attention to detail and friendly demeanor. From the moment I arrived, Hamza and Aaran made me feel right at home, offering recommendations from the impressive cocktail menu and answering all of my questions with patience and expertise. They really elevated the experience and made it clear that they take pride in their work, which is always refreshing to see.And of course, the cocktails themselves were truly delicious. The "Above the Clouds" gin cocktail was a standout, and I appreciated the care that went into crafting each drink to perfection.Overall, I would highly recommend Above to anyone looking for a stylish and sophisticated rooftop bar in Newcastle. The views are breathtaking, the decor is chic, and the service is truly top-notch, thanks in large part to the efforts of Hamza and Aaran. Thanks again for a wonderful evening!
Generic_YouTube_Name: I may be biased since I work here, but the staff are extremely friendly and polite, the food is excellent (I recommend the spicy chips), and the atmosphere is amazing of a night time.Reservations are accepted as well as walk-in (depending on table availability), and while the cocktails are a tad pricey, you'll have a night you won't soon forget.
Tyler Gamble: Don’t bother, don’t waste your time. Have been to Above and Livello and Aveika many times, always had a good experience and recommended it to others. However my experience tonight, with what must have been a new server as I’ve never seen her before, was anything but good, after spending £350 her service was god awful, you’d be lucky to get a mixer refill off her.Thankfully I paid with my TSB card which allowed me to initiate a charge back, has already placed the funds back into my account and will do whatever they need to do not to pay the pending charges, and I will never patronize any venue owned by the Gainford group ever again.
Laura Pérez de siles: Buen ambiente, vistas increíbles!!!!
Caroline Denham: Sat outside during the day for drinks. Staff were lovely and friendly. Beautiful views of Newcastle and the decor inside is lovely too
Luis Moreira: Loved it. Good music great drinks, friendly staff . Great mocktails. The sights over the tyne are breathtaken. Will go Back
Abdul Momeen: One of the best cocktail bars in Newcastle! It's a must try or you're simply missing out. Outstanding deco and the most friendliest staff.
Abdou Mahdoul: Excellent location, great background music, tasty food and amazing service from the staff.Especially if you get looked after by Harvey and Aron, top notch👌🏽 thank you very much guys
Paul F: Great 1st time here. Place relaxed atmosphere. Staff really nice
Mark Boakes: Hip place to be ... Great view of the city and the cocktails where spot on. Service faultless. You are paying for what you get.
Ian Lumsden: It's canny, not cheap, but great views.
Dee Clek: Our first visit (well tried to visit) and so dissatisfied with the service. We booked our evening meal in the ABOVE rooftop on aquiet Sunday afternoon. 2 hours before attending we get a call from the restaurant to say we can not dine there this evening something wrong with the kitchen.we then got offered a replacement at the Aveika (sister restaurant) and to compensate for the trouble they offered us 20%discount off our bill.We took the offer and they made the switch for the same time.On the knowledge that we had 20%off We didn't go overboard ordering expensive steaks n champagne instead we both opted for the Sunday roast and the house red wine. When requesting the bill it came at full price and also with a gratuity charge. We explained to waitress that the Above restaurant had telephoned us and booked us in this restaurant wth a discount of 20% off the bill. The waitress seemed to know exactly what we meant and took our bill to the manager. After 5 min the manager came across to us and said let me explain about the discount. I have put the bill into two parts, one with the wine and the other food. I have only given you discount on the wine not on the food. We asked why? He replied because you ordered the Sunday roast, chicken dinner which is already on a special offer ie you get a 2 course set meal he went on explaining "I know you only ordered one course but he said we can not discount it anymore because ots already on offer. . I'm sorry about the confusion and basically just said goodbye. He was very unprofessional and telling us this at our table.I thing this should have been explained to us when ordering our meal.Instead they tried to pull off thewhole thing by making us pay the complete bill on the hope we had forgotten about the switch that their sister restraunt had given us. 🤦‍♀️
Adam Ingham: Great atmosphere but No Guinness 😢
Richard Beard: Fabulous decor & views over the city skyline

G W: We stayed for three nights between 11th and 14th April 2023.Upon arrival, staff were relatively dismissive of us, and I felt this was due to our age. We saw other (older) guests being warmly welcomed by the concierge and by reception but did not receive the same treatment. This continued throughout our stay. My partner and I greeted staff warmly and did not had the same treatment back at all. With the exception of the maid, who has been incredibly friendly (and kept our room looking fantastic). The room is incredibly hot too, especially when we first arrived, but we made do as we didn't feel comfortable talking to staff. We had the Wine & Dine experience booked for our last night and again, staff were not particularly polite towards us compared with the others in the restaurant. Service was slow, particularly when we had our mains on the table and had to wait around 3-5 minutes for cutlery. We could have forgiven this had the restaurant been busy but there were only 3 other tables, and 4 waiters (all stood having a natter in the corner of the restaurant). The food was also not really very nice, over sauced and overcooked.I spoke to the hotel regarding all of this and their response, rather than a bit of compensation, was to invite us back. I genuinely would not feel comfortable going back! But also, they invited us back with a 'preferential room rate' - not even complimentary after such an awful experience. If you are 40/50+ I think you would have a nice time and be looked after. If you're any younger though, I would avoid. I also definitely do not recommend the Wine & Dine experience either. The one star given above is for the friendly maid who did a great job of keeping our room nice and to the breakfast staff, who were not ageist and looked after us, despite being ever so busy. Thank you to those lovely people!
Timothy Bromley: TERRIBLE - the club on top of the hotel makes sleeping IMPOSSIBLE! And it doesn’t stop until 3am on a Saturday!! Didn’t tell you that one when bookingagain - TERRIBLE!!! Book somewhere else!!Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More

keno: Reception staff were poor !On check in the lady was unhelpful with the valet parking. On check out the lady didn't say one word or ask if we had enjoyed the stay and this came across as rude.Bar and restaurant staff were very good, cocktails were good.Food overall good.Bad points = Noisy room from the nightclub really loud.Doors banging all though the night hence not much sleep !Beds ok but pillows not great.Woke up to corridors smelling of weed ! Also sounds of the human nature at verious times of the day !I don't think I'd stay again to be honest witch is a shame as the hotel itself was really nice and the bar staff very good. But if you can't get rest at hotel when can you.
