Stack: what do users think?
Jordan Stephenson: Really nice venue with a wide variety of street food and drinks including beer, cocktails wine and soft drinks. The venue also puts on live music and entertainment and has even provided kid’s entertainment during the school holidays. The top floor has seaviews too
Onkel Steve: Gorgeous place and dogs are also welcome. Gyozas and loaded fries from Bao Down were absolutely delicious.
Stavros: Great place and fab atmosphere! 👍🏼I'd imagine it to be jam packed, shoulder to shoulder once this Covid19 has been defeated.Went there with our friends the weekend it opened for some dinner. I had the gyros from Acropolis - definitely recommend! 🙂My mates had a pizza , not sure where from but said they were still hungry, didn't get much for the £££ paid? 🤔Had a stage with live band/music on, although not sure it this is a permanent fixture.Looking forward to returning with the lads for a 🍺🍺🍺 session! 🤪
geoff wilson: Great venue good food

purushotham reddy pothireddy: Best place

Erin Thorpe: Wonderful food and atmosphere 🏼😋
Lauren Davison: Great place for literally everyone. You can take the kids and the dogs. You can stay all day or just pop in for a bit. There's a different choice of food for everyone too so no one has to miss out.
matthew flack: Great night out here .... live music, bingo a number of food places. Cracking atmosphere
Dan Pearson: Always superb. Sensibly priced food traders with lots of choice. Gyoza are superb. Pizza also good. Decent beers at sensible prices and good entertainment. Parking can be a pain and it can be a bit cold out of season despite gas heaters but it is essentially an outdoors venue. Still top notch.
Veronica Sharpe: Great live artists
Tony Delicate: Great food
Susana Pena: Recommended
derek Grieveson: Sebb loves the bingo and all the friendly dogs 🐕♥️👍
Dawn Mcbryde: Busy place order from table then you collect food and drinks, loads of choices, there is live music .it's open topped in the middle, so it can be cold they have a heater above tablets, dog welcome,

Kelly Palfreyman: We stayed here for 2 nights in a small apartment very clean and well equipped, we also had our tea here both nights and can say the food is fabulous👍🏻 would deffo stay here again and would highly recommend this lovely place
Jenifer Purdy: We have had beef sunday roast. Totally tasteless. The yorkshire pudding were put in the tray and were a soggy mess. The veg all had a strange taste as if it was from frozen. Gravy was tasteless and watery. Such a shame as its a nice pub and the staff are friendly
jill simpson: Just had a roast turkey take out Sunday lunch & it was amazing. Once again I’m a happy customer. Thanks 😋
Tom Moorhead: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5Recommended dishes Sunday LunchMore
Michael W. Allen: Excellent food and pleasant friendly atmosphere. We will be going back.Great food and friendly staff as always. The menu is quite small but interesting and really tasty. We keep going back.Excellent food and friendly atmosphere as always. That is why we keep going back.My comments remain the same.
Miriam Vesela: Awesome service and personnel! The owner is very lovely and atmosphere is beautiful! Food is very tasty and prices are just fabulous!Love this place and will keep coming back.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Bianca Silva: We stayed for a week away from the London city, we loved every single experience from the hospitality to the B&B, the owners are so friendly! It was home away from home. Very comfy bed, beautifully decorated, kitchen utilities to cook or bake, iron available with iron table, a good amount of storage, electric shower, we were lucky to have such a good weather the windows allow all the natural light to come in and the view is beautiful from the room. Make sure to stop by on the pub lovely atmosphere the girls are amazing and the food is delicious!! Regards to the chef!Parking: Just in front of the pub.
tilly hall: this was the worst dinner i’ve ever had in my life it came out freezing we got about 4 pees each and all in all was just minging
Adele Edminson: Food was lovely.. the owner was really niceFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Carole Hunt: Went on Christmas eve lovely place and staff fantasticFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Glenn Higgins: The best Sunday lunch we've had. First class from kosta and his staff. Glenn and jill
anthony fairley: Lovely little freindky restaurant with great staff and manager.Ideal for small family gathering food was also tasty n fresh.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Outdoors Dad & family: Very accommodating restaurant. Great food and good value. Some of the food has a Greek theme and I'd authentic. Lovely staff. A good selection of beers.
COLLEEN ROSEBERRY: Lovely staff ,so happy to find somewhere local where I could have a gluten free meal . I had seafood pasta and it was superb.
Michael Armstrong: Nice little pub with a small bar. Called in on the way home and got a table easily - there was only one other table taken in the bar.We ordered Potato Skins and Garlic Mushrooms for starters, and Pork & Chicken Gyros with a Greek Salad, and Lamb Fillet with Mint Mash. The skins and mushrooms were fine, nothing special. The gyros came with small chips and a Greek salad. The gyros was huge and very tasty, and I could only just manage it.My wife enjoyed the lamb but found it a 'little' overcooked.Would we return? Yes, but not specially.Parking: Small car park - 5 or six spaces. But plenty of space around the green nearby.
Donna Byrne: Sunday lunch, just a bit meh. Quite bland all round, Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes ok but turnip mash should definitely not be the highlight of a roast beef dinner. Just lacked a bit of love, no butter, seasoning etc the little things that lift above average.
trevor selvey: We haven't been here for a long time I ordered a pizza and my wife ordered a parmo. If you get the pizza ask for a sharp knife to cut the base as the knife on the table struggled to cut it the chips that came with the parmo looked as if the potatoes had been boiled first then fried.🤔 overall the lady who served us was nice and friendly and the food was OK.
Lana Hunter: We came in famished, had a delicious meal served by very friendly staff, and left very happy. 😊 Thanks for the great meal!
d_taddei2: Friendly owners and staff, the menu could have been better which better choices, the pizza we had was ok but nothing special. The chicken tempura batter starter wasn't great and maybe they should replace with something better maybe something Greek. The homemade rhubarb crumble and custard was nice.
Andrew Harrison: Food was lovely & fresh. The portion size was huge! The owner was great & friendly too.

Josh Cawley: Great buffet style dinner. Food was delicious!
Janet Thompson: Brillant menu, cosy and really happy friendly staff 🙂
Barbara Spoors: Whilst location perfect and food pretty good, SIX was let down by poor communication. On booking, we were not told that they allow 2 1/2 hours nor that our table was required back at 4pm. It was not mentioned on arrival. As a group of 7, some whom had not seen each other for 50 years, these were critical details! I understand that restaurants need to turn tables. Simply advising us of their policy in advance would have made a big difference to us
Trevor Maddison: Crab on toast, say no moreFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Susan: Fabulous fresh food in lovely surroundings. The staff are more than helpful and friendly and the food was faultless . We had the seafood platter and cheese and pickles platter. We will definitely be going back and can't praise the food highly enough.
Elizabeth “Liz” Williams: Great place for a drink hot or cold with cake or a full meal right on the sea frontFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ian Mowbray: 70th birthday celebration on the 17th Feb was a brilliant evening. Food, location and staff all superb. Thank you to all.
Victoria T: Service absolutely brilliant and lovely, friendly staff. Food was served quickly and portions are a good size and so tasty! Brunch and lighter bites with cheeseboards are the kinds of things on the menu however the portions are big enough if you fancy a good tuck. I will even be trying this place for nibbles and drinks on an evening.Vegetarian options: Scrambled eggs, cheese, beans etc. on toast. Not standard though, they are special.
Linda McGill: Popped in by chance as it had started to rain. Very pleasantly surprised! Garlic mushrooms on sourdough toast were delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. Only downside was the noise from a few fractious children, which couldn't be helped.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
MrTommy2hairs: Beautiful little place with gorgeous views of the sea,, lovey staff & gorgeous freshly made food,, definitely be visiting again, 10/10
Bryan Charlton: Dined here last week they had the special on tapas and a bottle of wine £40 for two, meal was nice especially the meatballs, and the cannenbare cheese, but the bill almost doubled with drinks on top, very nice surroundings and the waiter was very attentive but for some reason felt the need to use the f word numerous times while chatting,as there was a lady present I thought that was totally unacceptable and so would not be dining here again.
Catherine Newby: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Alan Harris: Called in for a light bite and a coffee, had the toasted sourdough and crab really tasty and fresh, staff friendly and a nice place to relax after a nice walk, would really recommend it thank you.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

The Engine Room: what do users think?
Jenifer: Terrible meal had firemans platter was full.of bread on serving on wood board for 2 with chips.£22.00.sounds lovely but really disappointed 1 pork pie cut in 22 pickle onion cut in 4 .3 slices meat .Horrible beef in pot full fat small put of butter had ask for more. Was not worth money we really had board of dry bread .Nothing like photos on website this dish .0 stars and drinks really expensive £6 pintWouldnt be going back .We shouldnt of payed .We did complain at bar .This was yesterday afternoon.Myself my partner .
Beverley Boal: Like the venue and atmosphere but cost of wine ridiculous. £27.50 for a bottle of wine that retails at between £6.50 and £7.50. I appreciate there needs to be some mark up for profit but we are talking 320+%
Claire Warren: The chickpea burger was cold, dry and tasteless. The worst food I've had in a long time.Food: 1/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Michael Wynne: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Anissa: Ordered the teriyaki salmon with rice for dinner. It was quite yummy.
Denise: Visited for a pre theatre meal. It was Saturday early evening and it was busy! Service was excellent from the start. Shown to our table, drinks orders taken and delivered in no time. Food ordered and arrived not long after. We had the camembert dipping platter to start which was deliciously gooey and beautifully presented. For mains we had steak and belly pork both of which were cooked to perfection and again presentation was great. Portion sizes were spot on, generous but not overwhelming. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. Couldn't ask for more. The only downside was the noise levels because it was very busy, so conversation was tricky, but once the crowds thinned a bit it was better. When the food arrived we were too busy eating it to talk anyway!Definitely an interesting place. We'll be back.
Mark Smith (Smiffy): Great place to eat and drinkFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
david dunn: We had 2 courses for £20 with onion rings extra for £2,Beef brisket was nice for starter then on to the burger which was nice but the homemade chips were over cooked there looked like sweet potato fries there were that well done, the onion rings were just greasy battered thing I had to go and wash my hands afterwards we all ordered a portion and had 1 each couldn't eat anymore, service was good nice place but food big let down
Barbara Crabb: Table was booked for 5.30 after an hour at 6.30 we asked where was our food order was?We were then told the food we ordered was no longer available as they had been busy and a food delivery had not turned up. Ridiculous and shocking we had sat there for an hour waiting for a food order that did not exist. The manager did not offer an alternative or go to the kitchen to find out what happened just stood there saying what do you want me to do!
James Davey: Great ambience, food was a bit greasy but still tasted good.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Stephen Scrafton: A little disappointed today, had lunch in a pleasant environment with friendly staff. However, I had the beef brisket sandwich which for £13 a little pricey for lunch i felt, and expected something a little more exciting than a very fatty mediocre offering I was given. On the whole very disappointed and would be reluctant to return here.No reflection on the good serving staff..
Paul Miller: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Justin Hancock: It looked really nice, and I want to eat there still, but the kitchen was closed on a Sunday evening at 7 ish. It would be good to make your kitchen hours more visible because I want to eat that panacalty.
Colin Cummings: Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Mark Bryden: Post workout pint and coffees after training with the NEFRS BOXING club at SUNDERLAND COMMUNITY HUB. Great venue with very helful staff. Unfortunately did not have food as looked amazing. Managed to get a seat despite lots of reservations. Im sure we will be back for food at some point. Thanks to ALAN and his staff for looking after us 👍
Lee Bell: Old fire station, retains loads of features and memorabilia. A touch pricy but good service and a well kept pintService: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Rick Oughton: Beef brisket sandwich was wonderful!Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
barry tate: £5-50 a pint ....In a plastic cup...What's that all about...Everyone drinking wine or gin had a glass to suit the drink....Soft plastic cupsFor your beer of choice.....Crazy....It's not somebody's back garden BBQor a day at the races in July....
Bruna César: The food is average, nothing special in my opinion. We ask for a room engineer burger (was a little bit burnt) and a katsu burger (dry chicken). The service wasn't the best at all, the waitress was taking so long when the restaurant was pretty much empty. And basically much of the staff was chatting next to the till, while we were waiting for the bill.

Chesters: what do users think?
Mike McLaughlin: Meal was fine, drinks were good, environment was OK, some suggestions for signage adjustments, based on staff interactions which we had "Dog Friendly" is perhaps too strong a wording, might I suggest "Dog Tolerant" also, a sign indicating Dogs are Not Allowed on the seats in the aforementioned "Dog Tolerant area" for fear of a dog hair getting on a later customer's couture would be of use. We only have small dogs (who do not shed) and the seats are made of that same excellent wipe clean material used on seating in children's nurseries so disposal of the very occasional hair would not cause any great consternation. Would recommend this venue for anyone without a dog, but I'm definitely not in any hurry to come back with my dog or his friend.
Eileen Bullock: First visit to the Chesters but it won't be my last, the Sunday lunch carvery was lovely I had beef which was nice & tender with lots of mash & fresh veg thick gravy topped with a large Yorkshire pud good value @ £10-95 the staff were friendly, nice atmosphere it was really busy so would recommend booking
Josie81 P: Nice food. Pleased its dog friendly too.
Raymond Earl: 1st time visit on a Friday night was busy only to be expected. We ordered food it was not great, I ordered the chip shop platter the photo in the menu must have been taken in better days it looked as far removed from that as it's possible to get.The fish was flat looked like it had been stuck under a steam roller and was broken in 2, the so called battered chip shop sausage was neither battered or tasty. My wife had the burger which I have to say was no better. The server who brought the meals really couldn't have cared less, just put the plates on the table and wandered off. Something I wish I had done rather than give it a try.
Jacqueline Harkess: Lovely Sunday carvery n the mashed potato n gravy were delicious 😋 . Excellent service throughout
George Newman: No John Smiths why?
denise earl: It was Friday evening and it very busy which is to be expected, we decided to have a meal there as the place has good reviews. We were disappointed, we didn't have to wait too long but the service left a lot to be desired, the plates were plonked on the table without any pleasantries. The food was ok but nothing to rave about, don't think we would go back again for a meal, possibly just for a drink
Glenn Bland (Granda glenn): Very good staff, and great range of drinks
David W Philp: Good pub grub nice atmosphere
Alex Bulmer: Friendly staff. Great selection of drinks
Debra Crozier: Great pub with a lovely welcoming atmosphere
Chisom Ann: The Outdoor appearance is so fine. Had a meeting at their functional room, and it so surprising that it could take up to 50 people in a single gathering.A lovely place for an evening/dinner outing.
P Gallagher: Never been a good pub. No atmosphere. Expensive too.
Micha Wellington: Great and varied menu and a good selection of ales. Nice relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff.
Michelle Gudgeon: We visited this pub on the chance we may get a table for a meal. The staff were so friendly and accommodating to find us a table. The food was so nice and really hot. We would certainly come back and eat again. We also loved how you can sit outside on the garden and have a drink in the sunshine.Amazing pub with lovely food and fabulous staff x
paul potts: Great visit, great food and very welcoming. Well done Chesters
Margaret Dunsford: Meats love staff nice and dog friendly big car park but don't for get I clock in attention bar for you ticket out so you don't get a fine lots of TV.s all over good for the football fans but not if you need a Quit time
Andy Croft: Had a "wake" for a dear uncle of my good lady today. The service and the food was very good and we were allowed to take home in 'doggy bags' some of the uneaten treats.Thank you to all the staff involved.
Peter Fagan: Great pub for a beer or two and a meal. Been there with the girlfriend a number of times and enjoyed it. Could do with more people behind the bar serving at time but that's the same with a lot of places nowadays.
Michael Anderson: Great Cask Ales at a reasonable price, great staff. Can't ask for more from your local
Anne Colquhoun: Lovely food and dog-friendly.
