The Fire Station: what do users think?
Robin Sanderson: Le Vent du Nord provided a wonderful evening of entertainment at this excellent venue. Their brand of traditional québecoix music is quite exhilarating, with toe-tapping tunes and stunning harmonies. And a hurdy-gurdy!
Co Durham lad: Got a phone call today from these, I have just resigned from my position at my Boxing Club, I explained this to the lady, she was quite abrupt, WELL CAN I SUGGEST YOU REMOVE YOURSELF FROM THE CONTACT DETAILS, i honestly thought I had, she did not even tell me where she got my details from, the conversation ended, if that is how they go on, they can only but fail. I’ll certainly never go, and tell people of my experience.
Mick Tone: Excellent service, Charlotte was delightful, food lovely and a great venue. Excellent experience. Phil Welsh
Douglas Cromar: Excellent food & serviceGood atmosphere. Looking forward to my next visit.
Mark MacDonald: Great atmosphere and friendly staff who are very helpful. The food was amazing.
michael walker: Top spot to eat! Great environment, staff were fantastic and the food was unreal! Onion rings were perfect. Exactly how they should be done. Kids loved the desert, too. Would go back 100%
Jennifer Clair Robson: Great food.
Eddie Hanratty: Great venue plenty of space excellent place to see a band. Will be back
Lee Stuart: Superb night of entertainment in the Uber relaxed atmosphere at The Fire Station. Brilliantly designed auditorium, every seat in the house perfectly situated for an intimate performance. The Fire Station: 5 Star Venue, well stocked bar & great food.Ronnie Scott's All Stars: Consummate professionals, authentic Jazz players with an overt respect for the history of the club and the greats who played there.
Christopher Hayes: Great atmosphere. Nice pint
Chris Watson: Went for drinks, service was terrible and staff really unfriendly. Definitely need some customer service training. The reservation of tables and moving people on an hour before the reservation start time must be loosing the pub a fortune.
Andrew Davison: Really enjoyed my meal here tonight and the staff were spot on, service was quick and the food was deliciousI would say the prices are abit wild for what they were, probably on the high end of what I was expectingFor example the green pea and mint risotto £15, add chicken for £2.50 or add fish for £4, I could understand the additional cost if the risotto was about £10 but £15 for basically rice and peas, felt like I had to add something or it would have felt like something was missingOther than that like I said it was all really nice
Suzan: Great place for a meal & drink before a visit to the theatre 🎥
Colin Flanagan: Loved this place. Definitely going to keep an eye to see who is coming. Very nice inside and the venue is small so you always have a good view of the stage
Deborah Gray: Expensive. Gets busy before a show at the Empire next door.
lukemeier The god: Bra ställe fin öl finns uteservering bra stämning innan match.
Karen Lowthian: Great venue
Anthony Armstrong: Great time at the fire station food was great and so was the service
Fiona Martin: Great venue! Welcoming and spacious. Will definitely be back!
angela taylor: Excellent
debs Bland: Bar staff are extremely slow! It was absolutely packed, and they only had two staff on. Me and a friend were stood at the bar 15mins waiting to be served. As for the prices, £10.40 for 2 ciders! Absolutely ridiculous. Would not go again.

Independent: what do users think?
Chris Sowels: Good venue, my son keddy performed a set with a couple of local bands.drinks bar not busy the evening we went. Load of radgees in the club next door were fighting though, sort of thing that can happen in any city TBF.
Stephanie Pringle: Great music to dance to great atmosphere
Chris Hall: Great for live bands. White noise were fantastic.
Scott Horabin: loved massive waggons rock on bro's
SR: As long as you know what you're booking before you go then you'll be fine, drinks are reasonable; 4.00 for a double on a Saturday night. Take it as you will. Tickets for the event itself was about £5 eachHowever mixer could also do with some advise some of the bands went through the entire night with lead singers being unheard because they didn't realise that the mic wasn't working. Unfortuanet for the bands that didn't mention it before hut come on if youre obsessive about music this is something you should have realised
Lee Fryer: Went to see Great Waves plus support at this excellent, grass-roots venue. The North-East is known for brilliant music and places to play, the Independent being one of the best.
Martin Edworthy: Good music venue, limited bar.
Ben Watson: Blue pint.
Andy Mux: Best live music venue in Sunderland.
Jamie Adams: The guy who sells aftershave is sound when it comes to bashing out lines in the toilets x
Jonny Brutal: Rocking venue
John Bell: Great venue watching Sinnerboy
Ian Carney: Great venue, not so great beer, hate plastic
Alan Hodgson: Great night had by all.
Linda Barella: Great place fan local talent and great atmosphere
Alex Stephenson: Decent, smallish, venue for gigs in the heart of Sunderland city centre. Sound is okay. Bar is okay. Two minutes from the nearest Metro and train station (Sunderland). Busses (Park Lane) are 5 minutes away. No parking available at the venue.
Kirk Kitson: Love the sesh and the blue pints. Inde for life.
Christopher Durant: Great little venue for watching some great up and coming bands. We went to watch The Snuts and it was brilliant. The atmosphere was out of this world.
Ian Robb: This is a venue for mostly students, there is live music every week,a good selection of beers, wines and spirits,it is based over 2 floors with plenty of room for dancing.
Lisa R: Music isn't the best but the drinks and vibe are great
Lazlo Bennassi: The lyrical poets who are paid to entertain are amazing and could possibly be under estimated in their word play genius. As Tennyson once said and I quote "they were areet them".

Sunderland Empire Theatre: what do users think?
Mason: Went to see The Lion King, it was amazing. Really good acting, costumes and props! But food and drinks were overpriced.
Sharon Moment: A lovely small theatre . The staff were very helpful regarding access help.
Benny Boy: Fantastic venue with great and friendly staff
John Smith: Lovely theatre in the heart of Sunderland surrounded by bars and restaurants
Lorna wood: Amazing as always !!!
Claire Tucker: We were stuck in lobby while waited for our show to start. crammed in. expensive bar for drinks & snacks
emily birch: Great place, the seats are a little uncomfortable, but it's worth it with the shows
Julie Defty: Love going to see shows but food and drinks are very prices and toilets are very small
Diane Banks: Went to a show lovely theater
Jaz Holder: Amazing show for the lion King my seat choice was poor in the gallery (my fault for being cheap) snacks and drinks are a little pricey. Staff are great! Even the bar staff that offered to help carry my drinks and snacks up to gallery (which is quite a walk!)
Michael Bland: Loin king what more can I say.
Raych Laws: Gorgeous venue, very friendly staff
Ambrose Mccormack: The building and facilities are great. It is expensive for drink and snacks but I expected as much to be honest
Claire: I sat 2nd row and absolutely loved watching the Lion King. The venue is lovely inside and bigger than what it looks like from the outside! The staff are polite and friendly, and it was easy enough to find. The car parking could have been better signposted. However, you can park relatively close to the venue (on the same street). You can order snacks and drinks to be delivered to your seat, which I thought was brilliant, and at the interval you are allowed to go outside and then come back in with a little numbered ticket.
Margaret Bullen: Fab show great entertainment, seats are a bit hard on the backs of the legs when people are in and out of the aisles. Queues for toilets and drinks are very long. Expected as it holds a lot of people.
Richard Timson: Ambassador lounge prices are absolutely CRAZY
Philippa Green: Got last minute ticket. Was up in Upper circle but had a great view of the stage.
John Barchan: Great show, despite tge seating very tired and could do with a upgrade..
Anth Liddle: Great old building right in the heart of Sunderland. It gets a bit busy at the bars so get in early and prepare for a bit of a wait in the intermission. Really enjoy coming here it’s a great experience.
Elizabeth Morris: Show was fantastic
Debbie Calvert: Went to see the Lion king last night, used the ambassador lounge which was really good, staff were all very good, my seat was wet (hopefully just a split drink) staff immediately cleaned it, put 2 black bin bags and a thick towel over it, the Lion king was superb, best show I have ever seen, thankyou to all, parking within easy distance, theatre was lovely and all the staff were friendly pleasant and attentive.

Nick Egan: Been before pre covid would like to go this year, amazing venue great music brilliant atmosphere
robert garbutt: Classic car show entrant great place
Alex Banks: Good enough for a festival. A lack of crown control, and cleanliness of toilets. Would have been good to have a dedicated walkway
Dean Symmans: Great fun and company
Sheila Wheatley: Fantastic as always however, badly organised for campers. Having to park in a field then expected to carry all our gear to campsite. Organised chaos. First year its been like that, why change a good thing? I know and understand about the mud and churning up the grass but there were loads of campers vans on site, we're they not doing damage? All you needed to do was put those mats down for cars to drive on.
