Jeff Dunn: My daughter bought her first car, a Skoda Citygo from Ryan. Very easy from my first call enquiring about the car to the test drive the following day. A straightforward negotiation on the deal all done with a smile and my daughter is delighted. As easy a vehicle purchase as I’ve ever done mainly down to Ryan’s good communication and attention to detail.
Connor Wood: Just took delivery of my new Fiat 500 yesterday from Ryan at Richard Hardie Sunderland. I cannot fault the experience, I was given a good deal and a fair price for my part exchange; and Ryan was there to answer any questions I needed without being pushy or pressurising. My car was cleaned ready for me to collect; and the deal was straightforward and stress free. I would definitely recommend this dealership and Ryan as a salesman. Thank you.

I bought a brand new MG and it has already had 3 clutches in a year (2 within the space of 6 weeks)! WOW!Are you concerned about what speed you are going? Then Richard Hardie has the car for you, the speedometer randomly goes black when you're driving, so you don't know what speed you're going. Out of sight, out of mind right?And if you are worried about needing a courtesy car, while yours is in the garage? Well don't! They rarely have any available meaning you can sit and wait for hours on end instead. What better way to spend your weekend or weekday?But if you are one of the lucky ones to drive one of their few courtesy cars, make sure you pack light, as it will likely be a Fiat 500 (I have had the pleasure of driving 3 of them instead of my SUV). Don’t worry if you get a bit wet while you’re out and about, the car tends to come with some lovely dirty towels left in the boot, just for your convenience… and if you fancy spending your hard earned cash on fuel for the courtesy cars and public transport when your car is not working instead of a holiday? This place is perfect for you!If being patronised, ignored, lied to and your safety concerns brushed off are on your to do list, again don't worry. The staff at Richard Hardie, especially the after sales manager have you covered!Make sure you act fast before even more issues arise... the rear wiper motor failure, faulty battery and warning lights everytime the car is on, are just a few of the wonders that I have had the pleasure of experiencing which were all confirmed with an independent investigator.*I’m not normally one to leave bad reviews, or to call out organisations. But the experience I have had with Richard Hardie over the past 18 months have been disgraceful. Sending me out with a dangerous car over and over again telling me it “drives like a dream” and the car is “100%” before breaking down or coming up with warning signs. Should be 0 stars instead of 1.

Sarah Biglands: Caveat emptor!Feeling that I must leave a review after the problems my relatives have envisaged is appalling.There car was diagnosed with a fault Richard Hardie assured them the repair would rectify the fault, it hasn't yet they passed the MOT, in addition to this they admit to no longer holding the correct dealership having hidden this from them as they were still stamping the service book with the correct dealer stamp, Richard Hardie then asked them to collect the car with no longer being correct dealer they are incapable of repairing the fault. Some £600 later, I am astounded they made such a request, had they told my relatives of the situation they would of taken the car to the correct dealership who are equipped to deal with this make of car, but people who don't tell customers the correct information get found out as they have here. In fact when asked why they had not been informed they no longer had the correct dealership there replied a valid point had been made and they were unable to enlighten anyone on this question. A reputable dealership's policy would be to source an alternative method to rectify the problem, not Richard Hardie Sunderland, we just keep getting the same response to remove the car after numerous emails and contact, and eventually visiting the garage today only to end up leaving without a resolution after going around in circles yet again. Richard Hardie are quick to take your money but offer no after service-customer relations are nil insisting there decision is final after breaking legislation in so many ways... Please be aware business's like this deserve no loyalty from the consumer as they give nothing in return. If no resolution is met my relative's are willing to pursue Richard Hardie through the courts and the authorities over this matter, and they only have themselves to blame. A minus 25 would be better than a plus 1...

Daniel Quinn: Boyd at stoneacre Newcastle road sunderland is an exemplary example of sales people we need now not pushy and great at explaining how the finances work and couldn't be more helpful. Very knowledgeable of the toyota aygo we bought and the one we bought was drove from himself down at durham and bought back. There was a few Mark's on this initially alloys kerbed and a front scruff on bumper off the previous owner. These were smart repaired and alloys were fully refurbished prior to getting the car at no extra cost, love the car please send boyd our thanks and professionalism because it made the buying process stress free had all the time for any query we had also thanks!!

Brad Garbutt: It's a shame to write a bad review about this garage and reading all the positive reviews makes it worse! But the customer service I have experienced is next to none. The staff seem upfront while trying to sell you a car but once you have made the purchases this all seems to disappear. They havnt wanted to take ownership over any issues and when speaking to them about it the response I got was "I'm from the sales team it's not my issue" at this point I had to walk away very disappointed

Adele Turner: Over all I would not recommend or ever visit Stoneacre again. New car day is meant to something special. It's a massive purchase. The shine has been totally taken away from my new Jeep. It doesn't matter which way you look at it, the facts are that they let me drive away with a mouldy car with parts taken out of another car on the spot & I've had to purchase my Jeep accessories from another Jeep dealership. I was embarrassed for myself that I was put in that situation. Their customer care is poor & I've had to escalate my complaint to head office.Here is a summary of my complaint.No pre vehicle delivery inspection.Cover missing in boot.Mould in window seals.Damaged window seal.Nail in trye.V5 form incorrect delaying plate ordering.Lost electronic paperwork delaying previous car finance being settled & delaying UConnect services being enabled.UConnect needed updating.UConnect bluetooth intermittent.3 week wait for parts from Italy despite my cargo shelf arriving in 10 days & via Scotland.No customer service whatsoever.7 hours of my time taken up with having issues rectified.EDIT: I have had to escalate my complaint to head office as the branch's customer service has been so poor.18 month EDIT: Only 6341 miles on the clock & it's only 18 months old. The car wouldn't start today as there was a fault with the battery as diagnosed by the RAC. My options? Wait 2 weeks for Stoneacre to see to it & not know if it would be covered by warranty or purchase a new battery for £217. I paid the £217 as that's how much I don't want to deal with Stoneacre. Took the RAC guy 10 minutes to change the battery.I was also told by Stoneacre that the warranty wasn't held by them but by Jeep directly. I called Jeep who confirmed the warranty was in fact held with the dealership. Once again their customer service fails & they try to pass the buck.
Peter Solutions: My Jeep has been in with them 3 times now for overheating. Each time I have been charged for them to look at it and for a new part plus fitting. It is still leaking Coolant and overheating £1500 later over 3 months I still don't have a working car. Called again and they want me to pay for them to look at it a 4th time!

The manager was super helpful and reassured us that he would help. He put us with “Eddie”, who was AMAZING! Super friendly who really made us feel despite our small budget just as important as someone buying directly from the forecourt. He listened to our needs for a family car and truly delivered on his promises. Nothing was too much trouble for him and we ended up with the perfect car at a high spec and great price. Nothing got said about about charging me extra just I was booked in. I also got booked in for an extra that Will cost £19 which was fine so I agreed to that and I was aware of the payment. When dropping my car off I got to pay the ‘£19’ to be told I had to pay ‘£140’! They were charging me for them checking the car that the woman on the phone didn’t say anything about extra costs at all only £19! Not happy one bit.

Jason Frost: Took my car to the garage, on the arranged date and time, but there was no curtesy for me because none of the cars had been charged. Basic management! No petrol or diesel cars to give me either, so wasted a 15 mile journey and was unable to get my car repaired. I have a brand new, 3 week old car and it's been back to the garage twice. Starting to wish I purchased something else.

The delivery man must be walking from China I guess. Too call these guys a group of cowboys would be too kind as cowboys actually have some skills.

Kerry Potts: About once or twice a week the toxic fume light would flash on our car and lose power. We took our car to the garage and they said they would call us once they had done some diagnostic testing. They called us later that day and explained it was the fuel injector and that the part and labour would cost 240. My husband asked the engineer if that was it and would sort our problem and he said yes and the work was done. A day after getting the car back the issue happened again and still continues to be a problem a month on. We tried to talk to them and explain that we were 240 down and still had the same issue but they said it would cost us more money for them to look into it further.
