Royal Stoke University Hospital: what do users think?
T M: Went with a leg injury, staff were very helpful and may be i got lucky there wasnt much of waiting time in A&E, only wished more cheaper parking for my bistander....
Justin Brown: UHNM and ward 228 have been amazing. These fantastic staff go about their business quietly and professionally and I have the upmost appreciation of what they do.
Darren Mountford (Dazzlar is here to stay): Disgusting!! And I'm not talking about the hospital building. The staff on duty, on Monday the 10th of July 22:45 in A&E, every single one of them from reception all the way up to nurses and Doctors had a DISGRACEFUL attitude towards patients, talking down to people, sneering at people, being flippant with them, bullying and aggressive behaviour towards people, certain members of the nursing team (male) walking through A&E like he was at Paris fashion week, I couldn't stand it any more, I had my blood and ECG taken then after 3 hours I went to a head nurse on reception and I said I'm going home I can't stand it here anymore and she said " yeah see ya then, i'll take you off admissions" with a cold stone stare. Never in my life did I think I would be writing something like this about people from Stoke on Trent, known nationally for their friendliness. There needs to be a high level management root and branch investigation of that departments disgusting TOXIC culture. A very tall, very young male nurse who took my blood was the only one that showed any deceny and professionalism, how unfortunate that the disgraceful behaviour of his peers is probably going to project onto him as he progresses through his career. VERY SAD INDEED.The NHS is on its knees and whilst it has people like I encountered on Monday night running it, it will remain on its knees no matter how much money you throw at it.
Susan Bailey: Excellent service.
clive green: Thorough but timeconsuming
Christine Owen: After returning a bowel cancer test I received a letter to say that they needed to investigate further, there was also an appointment for five days later. The first appointment was with Amanda who explained everything, we decided that a colonoscopy was the way forward. I was then given another appointment for 12 days later. Every one of the team that day was supportive, pleasant and madeyou feel secure, no questions were silly. Dr Dessie, went through the procedure again, the whole team were very reassuring. During the procedure it became very painful but was quickly resolved with the entonox. Thank you all for your swift and expert care and after care phone calls 👍.My son wanted to help and enquired about a private appointment he was told it would be 4 to 6 weeks, it was all done in less than 3 weeks
Luke Dickinson: Parking is shocking they charge you even when your a patient.Everything consultant led is so slow there so back logged. No body is professional.Honestly don't have a baby in Stoke on trent
Viorica Cernat: Teribile! Waiting time 6-7-8 hours.Horrible! They are 10 patients in the waiting are and they shown on the screen more than 100.Horrible hospital!
Chen YANG: I had a sudden bleed during my journey and was forced to come to this emergency clinic, I waited until blood was all over my trousers to see the doctor and this is where my nightmare began. First I was put in the waiting room and told by the nurse on duty that I would need a few hours to wait for an MRI, which I accepted, I waited from afternoon until about 6 hours in the evening and no nurse came to tell me the results and of course I was not scheduled for an MRI, when I went to enquire I was told by the nurse that I would be scheduled for an MRI the next morning.I was full of anticipation for the MRI the next day and was told I still had to wait, I accepted this and tried to enquire how many days I would have to wait as I couldn't keep waiting aimlessly in the hospital, the nurse told me he wasn't sure, he didn't know. I found the doctor and he told me to have it done today, I was still thankful, not knowing that everything was going in a bad direction. As I bled and waited for the test, I asked the MRI staff about the time of the test and they told me that I did not have any MRI appointments, meaning that my doctor or nurse never put me in the MRI queue, at this point I asked the nurse again and I was given the answer that I needed to wait, but I was not in the MRI queue, so what was I waiting for? I fed back my concerns and one of the senior nurses started to reprimand me, telling me that he had never seen anyone who wanted this in his 15 years of working at this hospital.I just wanted to know when I could have an MRI and that was it I had to leave this hospital, sometimes the private option is a better solution
Karl Werner: Some of the staff havent got a clue when you ask for something about 2 or 3 diffrent people see you and they dont rush,i know they are under presure but tings need to improve pluss my partners small backpack got stolen from a side ward on sunday night or monday morning when she was having a wash it had here purse in it and other items in it no body seamed bothered pluss the police said there was nothing they could do as there was no cctv on the ward, this country has gone to the dogs.
Helene Perry: Having had several recent surgeries, I want to say that the treatment in the hospital was brilliant! Every member of staff was caring and friendly, so Thank You!!!
Amy Gibson: Staff were fab did the best they could to help
Eric Wood: Easy access no problem
Mihidhu Mihidhu: Good place
Jane Colclough: Spent 9 hours at Royal Stoke A&E with a query blood clot. Came away at 4am, exhausted, not even knowing if I had a blood clot because when they took bloods, at the start of our 9 hour session, they didn't even check for a blood clot. Didn't get to see a dr until 8 hours after arrival, at which point I was told I needed to wait another couple of hours (or more!) to get a result on the blood clot. Literally couldn't keep my eyes open any longer so I had to come away, after first having a chest xray, and agreeing to attend AEC today, to continue the saga. The extra blood test should have been requested at 4am (as I left A&E) but on arriving at AEC at around 11:15 today, it had not been received by the lab. The nurse at AEC requested it there and then, and I just had to wait for the result and time with a Dr- which took another 4 hours. The nhs needs help. Everytime I go it gets a little bit worse. There was one poor woman in tears on the floor of A&E for hours. It felt like we were in a third world country. Animals would get better treatment. It's so sad.
Richard Matthews: A&E do not come here if you can help it , absolutely shocking 6 hrs and still waiting . NHS RIP
David Whitmore: Very good ,but parking really bad
Craig: Good
Brenda Gilmour: Had to wait a long time to be seen but werth it in the end
Sue Mclean: This hospital is huge, such a shame that there's always trouble parking
Ruby Jones: Went into the A&E today as my friend was suffering badly with breathing problems and going in and out off consciousness ( were uni students so being away from home in a different hospital is scary anyway) to be rudely spoken to by multiple of their ‘nurses’ who then told us to leave as there was “to many of us” there was 3 to support her and eachother incase she lost consciousness again. Very poorly staff who need to learn manners
