Merseyway Shopping Centre: what do users think?
Damien Boland: OK selection of shops, my only concern is the parking, if you don't have cash, i.e., change for the ticket machine, you have to download an app which some people might be put off by. The redevelopment of the old bus depot looks really good
Paul Downey: What was once a vibrant shopping centre is now a shadow of itself. An almost full half is now effectively closed off due to building work ( what is actually happening to the former stores is anyone's guess) and the opposite side has heras fencing erected with workmen replacing ( yet again) the paving stones so some stores have temporary paving in front of their entrances. Merseyway used to be a busy place, especially on a Saturday, but now, it's no busier than a small highstreet at best. Stockport Council has a lot to answer for by not reacting to the signs of poor footfall and poor building maintenance/management that was obvious to a blind man from 2000 onwards. All the major retailers have more or less pulled out of Merseyway and the companies that have moved into the empty shops appear to be fly by night, short term companies that are almost certain to end up closing down. The council needs to act now and turn the demise on its head and get those major retailers back into Merseyway ( not convert those empty stores into offices, which is one idea they've been floating with). Get the major retailers back and you'll get the footfall back, and in turn, you'll get the income back as well!
Aranya singh: Good
John Edwards: Struggling like every other shopping centre
A Valentine: Boring
Lennox Braithwaite: Ok shopping centre I do have my favourite shops and stop off for a coffee
Tony Williamson: Went to Primark what's not to love about Primark has everything just don't have enough money to spend
Farah Tasneem Ahmed: It is a good shopping centre, with few brand shops. I bought shoes at a great sale. A big Primark is also there. But due to the construction work inside, I wasn’t able to roam around much. One interesting thing is the Pound Bakery over there. Anything you buy is 1 pound or less.
John Mclear: More like a building site these days, boring and miserable. Not a nice place to visit for a while yet.
Sue Iskandar: The council are installing a new footpath through the shopping centre, Hopefully, the two big stores will be opened soon.
Wendy Moorhouse: Lots of empty shops. Very disappointing
Les Fowler: Horrible during rebuild
Kamal-deen Anafi: It's okay, found it hard to get a rest room
Ian Mulligan: Saw my manager from years ago at Needhams butchers on his Stockport market stall. Great bloke he is.
Geoffrey Fox: Maybe ok when finished.
darren “Jones7390” jones: Is in such a mess, they have destroyed Stockport.
Edward Carter: A lot going on in Merseyway to try to regenerate it, with many good ideas. Still a little short of decent shops though.
ray williams: Lots of shops but a real mess can't find anything
Andrea Renshaw: Rubbish & not a great selection of shops
Graham Bartle: Run down not Really a shopping center any more
Fatima: i go there all the time cuz i love near it and its rlly fun it has shops I like

Adlington Walk: what do users think?
David Ryan: The redevelopment of Adlington Walk at Stockport’s Merseyway begins, marking the first phase of upgrades to the shopping centre. The improvements to Adlington Walk forms part of a package of works that will see new shop-fronts, landscaping and public realm improvements to Merseyway over the coming years. The new Adlington Walk will feature ‘best in class’ toilets, parent and child facilities and a quiet room. A new stair a lift core will bring visitors down from the rooftop car park into the shopping centre via a hotel-lobby style entrance. New landscaping will also help to link Merseyway with other areas of the town centre, including Stockport Interchange, due to complete in 2022.By September 2021 no work has started and the one vibrant shopping Mall is being propped up only by the post office.

Sarah Pru: Tucked away. Lovely little square with a children's play area in the middle and tons of free parking. Shops include cafés, Sainsburys local, charity shops, a sewing shop... good variety. Handy little spot to have found.

Stockport Indoor Market: what do users think?
Leigh Bird: Beautiful building in the middle of lovely ‘old’ Stockport. A proper market with a fantastic fruit and veg seller and an amazing bread and cake stall as you walk in, nearest the church entrance. Surrounded in all sides by other great indie shops.
M1G_52: interesting
lucyjane Collins: Went to oak tree cafe and had overpriced vile latte and cappuccino made with uht milk YES YOU READ CORRECTLY U.H.T MILK.. my bacon barm had no bottom and they got order wrong. Staff seemed distracted and disinterested. The only good experience we had was the book exchange and the lovely lady who worked there..I was bred in Stockport very disappointed with the decline in the town centre 😢
Kat N: I love Stockport's indoor market. Beautiful interesting shops and people. Fresh fruit and veg. Fab unique gifts from the little pop up stores. a wonderful way to support local small businesses and teach my children the value of community.
Elizabeth Ainsworth: Lovely place. A good variety of stalls. Well worth a visit.
David Hodkinson: Quaint yet functional
Michael Harrison: Stickport's Victorian indoor Market is ideal if you're looking for a traditional butcher, fish monger and fresh fruit and vegetable, a delicatessen counter, cheese and fresh eggs. You can also find a hardware stall, bedding and towels, mobile phone and electronics stall, pet food and accessories, opticians, watch repairs and art stall. There are four eateries to satisfy most people's hunger pangs.Despite the attempts of large supermarkets which lie in close proximity and the high stall rents and attempts to close this fantastic resource, Stockport indoor market endures. There is parking just up Churchgate.Wheelchair friendly entrances at both ends of the building.
Lee Holland: It wasent as bizzy as normal with it being gaypride this Sunday & really enjoyed it as we couldn't for the last couple of years as for COVID19
rachel mcelhone: A great market
Kathryn Shaw: Love this market hall, so many different retailers selling many quality products . Even though I work in supermarket , I will only get my fresh meat from here .
Wendy Edgerton: Fantastic indoor Market Fantastic fruit salad an veg
Ana Fastrackyourlife: Great products, vendors we're very friendly and helpful.Clean and with different places to sit.
Jaime Skuse: The indoor Market is an attractive victorian structure that contains a plethora of independent traders. The shops range from selling sweets and speciality teas, artists displaying their wares and even a new celebrated Polish bakery. If you're in Stockport it's worth visiting, although it's only open on certain days. Regular events are held in the marketplace and inside the indoor market, which are usually enjoyable and well received.
Ian Ridgway: It's always a pleasure to go there nice stall holders always polite and friendly. It was nice to see some stalls being put up outside it felt like old times. KEEP IT UP STOCKPORT.
James Lynch: Great food and provisions
Ken Tipton: Lots of great little shops, good value for money, good variety and choice I would recommend a visit it is worth it
Max Wild: Increasingly busy which is an excellent sign. When Underbank is complete the centre will be really buzzing.
Amanda Mcdonald: Such a shame this once thriving market is unrecognisable. There isn't anything to recomend.
noel tyrer: Great place to visit . Lots of interesting stalls . Love the tool stall .
Damon Cushing: Makers market was excellent.
Paul Lavin: Great stalls and friendly people. Got some great things and I'll make it a weekly visit into the future
