Britannia Hotel Stockport: what do users think?
Patric Glenister: Refugees paradise can't believe that your still advertising, these greedy people that we accommodate ate all the guests wedding breakfast when we had a wedding there as we were not told about all these beggar's logding there, its a disgrace to Brittania hotels and more importantly to the local community, hopefully its demolished when these scumbag scroungers actually get kicked out, I'm 100% British and if i didn't have a bed tonight you wouldn't put me up, Brittania hotels are scumbags
A watters: Avoid

Anthony Watters: Not good
B Masoudi: Good location. Need uplifting a bit and spending some money on the furnitures and building.
Procalc: Dark and dismal hotel which is home to a lot of asylum seekers. Is in desperate need of modernisationRooms: 2/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 2/5 …More
Janine Green: I have to be totally honest, the room was filthy. Beds very uncomfortable. The only good thing was the breakfast that you paid extra for. I'm an easy to please person and hate to give a bad review, I generally only ever leave a good one. When I read other reviews giving higher stars I thought awww people giving bad reviews are just moaners so I booked. This is definitely a one or 0 star hotel. Absolutely filthy 😂😂

Travelodge Stockport: what do users think?
Nikki Tengende: Stayed for one night for work. Almost everything about it was awful but can't expect much more from a budget hotel. Greeted by a receptionist who looked like he'd rather be anywhere else but there.Walkability: Walking distance to most shops and restaurants
Omar Moustafa: Arrived at the hotel to be greeted by very friendly staff. The security gentleman (didn't catch his name) was very welcoming and polite. A very big thank you to Kayleigh who checked us in at reception and served us the bar. She was very helpful, friendly and nothing was a problem. Only shame the parking isn't part of the hotel and you have to park across the street but other than that everything is else is really good.
Andy Przybysz: If you are only after a bed and a shower, then no need to look for anything else. However, if you want things like refreshments, good service or human approach, then it is not the place you are looking for. This is a very simple hotel with little more to offer other than sleep at a relatively low price. Reception staff often not there, procedures stopping you from buying anything from the bar, poor quality breakfast. Three stars as I have seen worse for a higher price and it would just be unfair.Update few months later, food has greatly improved, especially breakfast. Still could get better, but for the price, it’s now worth it.
Chris Swanborough (Swanny): Average, car park is OOU
steph osullivan: Staff wonderfully very welcoming easy to talk to professional make you feel comfortable only downside to staff would be you could hear one member Bersted another in the kitchen but could clearly be heard from restraint and we don't feel she should have been was very kind to us and helpful the same night doing everything she should be and didn't deserve to be spoken to how she was and the person doing so should have been more professional if she felt something needed to be said and quietly pulled her aside. But apart from that very good staff welcoming at check in and restraint understanding of my 3 hyper children one of which is under assessment staff go out their way and beyond to be helpful and help solve issuesRooms great better than previous travelodge plugs next to bed built in heating and air con bathrooms great bath and unattached shower clean some staining on floor but can't really be helped. Felt very comfortable here in this travelodge which was very good given we were placed here when our home was unfit for living and it was a stressful time for us. They made that easierFood was good some nights took a little long to arrive but there was only 1 member cooking from what we could tell so given that you can understand. Wasn't always stock of what was wanted in but where other choices. Not loads around merseyway shopping centre right on door step and some stuff that is of cost for the kids but not an easily accessible park or anything around that doesn't cost much. But that's not hotels fault overall was very happy with our stay here
Andi H: The only disappointment was when we tried to get back in after a meal and there was a group of feral kids outside shouting, causing trouble and trying to get in to set the fire alarm off! Not the fault of the staff but it really put me off staying there again..... maybe get a big dog! 😆Lovely breakfast and very friendly staff. Clean room which also smelt nice.Safety: CCTV required to record the rabble at the door and make it clear you will post the film online.
Mike Huddy: Location good for local bus service not good no on site parkingNearby activities: Redrock complex CiniRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
James Gill: Been here a few times since it opened. Feel like it's gone downhill a bit on most recent stay. Staff are as helpful as ever, but the building itself and rooms are showing wear and tear. No longer have free parking. Also - weird one but they don't seem to have enough cutlery?Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Jennifer Schofield: First thoughts about parking were changedwhen I found local parking really easy ...only 2 mins away. Staff in this hotel are great. Shannon helped me with a query even though she was not working. Pizzas are amazing! I will stay here againRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More

Stuart Wade: Does the job for a night, wouldn't want to stay any longer though. Took staff a good 5 minutes to even acknowledge me at the deskFood & drinks: Must try Street Guys
Elizabeth Church: Very friendly helpful staff, comfortable bed, quiet room. Breakfast: cooked, croissants, pancakes, bagels, cereals, yoghurt, apples and oranges. ( Sadly the supplier of the soft fruit had let the staff down and this was missing). Very good price evening main course and drink deal.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Olivia Hurley: Great hotel, really friendly staff!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Tony Thompson: Rooms aren't the best but do the job, the problem is the hotel is used as temporary accommodation for people who have been made homeless and because of this their are domestic incidents regularly, but once you get into your room everything is fine. Also NO PARKING however their is a council car park directly opposite and their are good food options nearby. The breakfast is terrible so I would avoid that
Janice Patterson: No specific instructions re loading / unloading area outside hotel despite 24hr bus gate nor where nearest carpark is and how to approach it. Signs says shut at 6.00pm till 6.00am but then we find it is free overnight and app available to pay for the morning hours needed. Didn't enquire how you would exit during night if on early flight. The reception staff were amazing and helped us fetch our luggage across which we appreciated after spending nearly an hour driving round trying to find a carpark. Instructions need amending to avoid anyone else having this problem if arriving by car.
Paul Thomas: Room clean and tidy , bed feels comfortable. One downside is car park not on siteRooms: Good size, clean and tidy. Bed very comfortable
Mohammed Alam: If you like my review please press like.Let's start with the positive. The hotel manager and receptionist in the picture were both very friendly and polite. The hotel is very near from Bus and train station.Lots of food restaurants around just cross the road.Everyone is friendly with polite responses. The room was very and I mean very clean and spacious. The bedding and furniture were cleaned 👌.There was no noise outside so the windows were soundproof. The air-conditioning unit was brand new Samsung brand very affected and there no noise was coming out of them. There are no bed smells in the corridors.OpportunitiesThe carpets in the room look very old there is no smell of anything but the appearance makes you wonder.Maybe reception can do with face lifting as it looks a bit gloomy. The bar area needs maybe more lighting.Again If you are staying more than 3 days ask reception to change your bedding,l.Rooms: Clean and spacious with bathroom sparking cleanedNearby activities: You have quite many few places within walking distance from High streert.Safety: All done have card lock systemWalkability: Everything in walking distanceFood & drinks: Lots of restaurants just cross the road place call Red Rock.Noteworthy details: Jungle grill 😋 yummy food and it's lamb ribs were delicious
DAVID BAILEY: Room clean and tidy breakfast poor evening meal very poor choices and what we had poorRooms: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 3/5 …More

Ben Mather: Great night's sleep, only issue was breakfast was paid, but we left at 4:30 am for work, so they promised us a breakfast to go bag, great, shame they forgot and made us one up and it was a tiny muffin and a few bits of fruit, also night staff seemed out of it!?
Ravi Kumar: Not even bother to respond customer request, very dissatisfied with a level of serviceNoteworthy details: Noteworthy to stay
Simeon Grundy: Hotel is extremely clean, staff very polite and approachable.Breakfast is standard HIE affair cooked/continental and juices. Breadbuns sadly were stale. Additionally the restraunt in the evening was Uber busy with only one chef, so very very long wait for food - food was nice when it arrived but for me took far too long. Management need to ensure their staff are supported adequately. Also had youths running riot down the corridors most of the evening - says a lot about the adults who were supposed to be overseeing them.
Stephen Houghton: Excellent place ,spotlessRooms: Spacious and extremely cleanNearby activities: Everything within easy walking distanceSafety: Very safeWalkability: EasyFood & drinks: Breakfast excellent, drinks very reasonable
James and Cassie: Room was reasonably comfortable but rather tired, with a number of stains to the walls/furnishings, missing a curtain (meaning we were woken up by the sun), and the bathroom decorations starting to severely deteriorate.Breakfast buffet was adequate, but was slow being restocked. Similarly, the furniture in the dining area is more suited for use as a cafe rather than a restaurant.
Peter Evans: Very, very, comfortable hotel.Room was very well prepared, and Spotlessly clean.Great location if you're using Stockport, and the station.
Patricia McNally: Pleasant outlook. Breakfast self-service excellent. Staff very friendly and efficientRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
John Ferguson: Food & drinks: Food was poor we had an evening meal of Thai curry rice and nan bread , the curry was quite bland ,the rice was only warm and the nan bread was dry and crispy .we ordered a portion of fries with the skins on , we got a portion of warm fries which were just like they'd come from mc Donald's. Our breakfast in the morning was , bacon undercooked sausage ok eggs were only warm and only scrambled ,hash browns warm and greasy, no other choices available ,even bread was only white and a bit dry .
Marin: A nice new hotel in Stockport. There is no fitness or gym in the hotel. However, there is a public gym and pool just around the corner, which you can pay privately. Ask hotel for discount.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 3/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More

Innkeeper's Collection Stockport, Heaton Chapel: what do users think?
Pamela Anderson: Bed Was comfortablePoor attitude on check in staffPoor lighting in room5 sockets not working in roomRoom unclean centre light extremely dustyInternal glazing filthy could not see out windowToilet lid missing of toiletBasin ridiculously smallStairs to second floor dangerous and higher step than building regulations
Mark Ashcroft: Room was clean, neat & tidy, surprisingly spacious. Beds were firm but’s that how I like ‘em. Surprised on other comments left about the noise, we stayed on Coronation weekend & both slept well, didn’t hear any Road noise while we were in a first floor on the front of the building. Bathroom was absolutely spotless, shower was powerful. The staff were very cheerful & helpful, we got an early check in no bother @ all. If you’re the type to complain about narrow/steep staircases, you’ll have some ammunition but it’s not exactly a game breaker is it?? We really couldn’t fault the place & would gladly stay again.
Ellie Pestaina: Very clean and comfortable room with good facilities, very friendly staff and a fantastic on site restaurantRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
KD L: Sadly, not my first rodeo. Having stayed now a number of times feedback/comments have changed nothing.Small rooms. Overpriced and far from "budget" as advertised. 80+ with no breakfast is awful for the area.Noisy road all night. You can hear your neighbours talk, go to the toilet (yes, every noise), the tvs, the corridor and alarm clocks left, right and centre.Uneven sloping floors.Very steep staircases to rooms. Stayed on 1st and 2nd floor. Both are a challenge, so be warned. As a 40yr old, fairly fit, person, it was a pump with a bag!Beds are very hard. A positive for me but not ideal for most. The taps trapped my fingers turning them on. The towel radiator becomes overly hot and the shower entrance is very narrow, resulting in burnt ribs and back. No extractor fan. Very, very disappointed and strike three means I'm out now and won't be visiting again. The restaurant food on the evening was excellent but worth noting, again that it is massively overpriced, particularly deserts.
Ron Wild: We only ate here at the steak restaurant.Service was great, the food fantastic.
Anne Cooper: All staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was fine, the en-suite was small overall, had to be careful not to touch the hot towel rail.Breakfast as excellent, freshly cooked.Happy to return
andy thrower: A good size carpark which is also used by restaurant goers.Unfortunately it took awhile to check in due to the computer network going down must have been over 15 minutes easily they kept apologising a free drink offer wouldn't have gone a miss ,eventually given up just had to write my details down and showed my email confirmationShown where rooms where ,some info givenMy room was on the 2nd floor the stairs to the 2nd are rather steep and narrow! The room itself was an okay size for a single bed as was the shower roomBed was very comfortable had a good night sleepShower was hot and powerful.WiFi was excellent.Evening meal was OK, quick service, its a Miller and Carter so its expensive but its worth it i guess.Breakfast not includedLots of walk and running spots close by.Would I stay and recommend YES 👍

lewis clay: Great value for money. Lovely place. Good rooms. Safety fob for entrances.Rooms: Lovely decor. Comfy bed. Decent storage for short trip. Iron available. Good shower. Definitely could use a mini fridge or safe, but it does what it needs to do. Loads of power outlets.Walkability: There isn't a great deal around, but there are stations very close and a bus stop about 50ft from the left of the entrance that'll take you straight into Manchester city centre for £2!Food & drinks: The restaurant downstairs is pricey but absolutely amazing. Food was incredible. Service was always great. Drinks were reasonable, especially for a hotel.Noteworthy details: The entrance is via key fob. Great for security, but one morning I locked myself out and there was no way of contacting anyone to get back in... Luckily a postman came along and saved the day for me!This isn't really a story about anything other than me being a twonk, but they could deffo do with a buzzer, for people like me who would forget their own head, if it wasn't attached.
David Maxwell: Big room, comfortable bed, clean and recently refurbishedRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Konrad Rein: It was great that it’s close by the airport and the venue I had to go. The restaurant is excellent. People are very supportive and friendly. The rooms toward the Main Street are a little bit noisy and the windows not easily to be opened.Overall it was great.

barry chapman: Made the Duty Manager aware and he, witnessed a banging noise heard in my room which took place intermittently up to 11pm in the evening and woke me up twice about 6am in the morning. Did not get any feed back.Second night the room immediately above mine was occupied by some young girls, singing and making a variety of noises up to 130am in the morning. Told by another guest they had complained to the night porter nothing appeared to have been done with these guests .
Shaun O'Neill: Great room, great food and great staff.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Chiara Casari: Very spacious and clean room, big TV, newly fitted bathroom, big shower.Only one chair: add a second chair or armchair
Rachel Wilkinson: Clean comfortable room. Friendly staff. Great restaurant
Hannah Lane: The bed was incredibly hard, barely got a wink of sleep, the room was incredibly hot and the smell of burning oil in the room and outside the room was disgusting and overwhelming, I gave two stars because it was nice and clean, well presented. The staff were really nice too.
Maxine: Hotel was easy to find with good parking. Check in staff were friendly. The room was a good size for four of us and spotlessly clean. Being in an old building, the floors were uneven and the stairs steep - it added to the charm for us but wouldn't be suitable for anyone with access requirements. Only two towels were provided and there was no obvious way to communicate with staff other than returning down the stairs. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others needing a hotel in the area.
Michael Walker: Staff friendly and helpful.

Ganesh Muthusamy: This could have been better. water was clogged in Bathroom and wash basin. No heater was functioning. Rate is good. Still focus on infrastructure and facilities is required by the management.Nearby activities: The Plaza auditorium is nearby within 2 bus stops.
STANLEY CHIDI: Frankly, there is absolutely nothing commendable about this hotel. Poor service and non-existent because, no service was rendered to me at all.I booked the room online via Expedia and I was charged £61.20. I traveled from another city only to be stranded, dehumanized and insulted by the hotel's staff. The whole experience affected my mental and physical health. I called the hotel earlier to explain that I would be unable to meet up with the specified check-in time as it was written on the website that guest should call if they know they are running late. I was told right on the phone that I will have to pay an additional £10 for checking in after 11pm. I agreed to pay the money however, I was surprised about the increment, as this was not written on the same website. On arrival with my girlfiend we met no one at the reception, we could not even enter inside as we did not have the key (card) to go in. We were let in by a guest who we met outside. I called the off-duty number at the reception area, and the staff was so rude to me on phone. He insulted me and threatened to call the police if I do not leave the property. I tried explaining to him how I had called earlier to inform them I would arrive late but he kept talking over me and did not allow me to express myself. I was so furious about the whole thing but to cut the long story short. He said he will not give me a room and so we had no choice but to sit on the chair in reception all night. I feel I have been defrauded.Safety: Felt unsafe as there was no staff present at the reception all through the night till morning. Also Another guest complained about their non chalant and sluggish manner of business especially how the hotel reception often opens late in the mornings.Noteworthy details: Not reliable
Mark Lawton: My partner and I stayed here for one night, it's okay, but only okay...The room was clean, and so was the bathroom, although the bedding was rather badly stained, mattress topper needed a wash as well, so this massively has put us off staying again. We would have asked to move rooms, however (see 👇)There is nobody on reception until 3pm, and then they finish at 11pm, so basically noone on reception after that time, which quite frankly is very poor, only a mobile number for emergencies. This could be a lovely hotel if they just spent the money on it, and got proper staff.
Tardis Iain: Fantastic room, Very clean upto a high standardRooms: Very CleanNearby activities: 24 hr, Fuel station and Miller Carter5 mins from the hoSafety: The door key cards

Jesmin Khan: Good facilities with microwave, mini fridge.
Shraddha: Thr room that I got was for a single person. So the room was pretty small. But considering the price in this time..when all other hotels were pretty much booked.,it was good. Have a look at the pictures, it a small corner room with slant ceiling. Just enough to spent the night. They have provided a little fridge, a microwave, and a kettle. Also there is TV in the room. Now the things which can be improved -There is no lift in the hotel. There is no cafeteria and the vending machine was also not working, so you have to bring water and food all from outside. The reception is at the back side follow the parking sign if you face any doubt of finding the entrance 🤣🤣Rooms: Rooms are quite small.Nearby activities: Petrol pump with Morrison express is just 5 mins walkable distance for daily needs.
Gena Hennry: Nasty and smell like rubbish, I was afraid to touch everything because everything look dirty and smell disgusting. The place shout shut down and never allowed to open until a full renovation done. I couldn't wait to get out.🤢🤮Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More

Emily Jones: We went to Bredbury Hall for a wedding and had a triple room for the night. The room was lovely, very clean and bright, and good value including a decent breakfast the morning after. Considering the hotel is in the middle of Stockport, it felt very rural and picturesque, and the outside area was stunning. The barn was lovely, we did go to the hotel bar for drinks because we wanted draft beers, but James the bar manager was very helpful and accommodating, and all staff were friendly and nice. Expensive drinks though! We wanted to book a room in June but were told we would need to stay for two nights which we don't need, so gutted about that! We loved staying and would have loved to have booked in again.
Ania Wozniak: Comfortable, clean rooms and good service. However, food for dinner was very disappointing.

The hotel is in a very peaceful, tranquil location it is a very old, listed building with character. Thank you to Scott the General Manager who gave us a tour of the night club which is undergoing a major refurb and uplift. A fantastic, atmospheric, period venue perfect for any occasion. We will definitely be returning when the hotel upgrades are completed in the summer.Rooms: Our bedroom was very comfortable and spacious, with a great bed and a relaxing nights sleep. Alma Lodge Hotel & Restaurant Stockport Manchester: what do users think?
Mick Coates: Clean and tidy hotel, well located for Stockport town centre.
Ian “George59” D: Excellent, conveniently placed hotel with comfortable rooms and great buffet breakfast.
Linking Up Derby: Stayed for One Night at this restaurant as it was booked late last minute. I am really pleased with the stay as the staff were very friendly and were really helpful everytime I spoke to them from the ladies at Front of House Evening and Morning Staff including the friendly man who was downstairs throughout the evening. We also had breakfast which was a good choice of options👌 If you need a hotel to stay I would recommend this place.
Mike Garrett: Guy at reception very pleasant. A nice feel to the hotel. Don’t expect too much but it’s clean and functional and excellent value. Bar and breakfast looked good but I didn’t try them. Good parking. Basically impressed, also reflected on the other reviews here.

Karina Azhikhan: Персонал просто "золото" - помогают по любому вопросу, очень приветливы. Их отношение затмевает некоторые недостатки в оснащении.

Jeff Sassalle: Hôtel ancien. Très propre 👍. accessibilité par escalier. Juste 1 étage. Accueil sympathique a la réception
Bob Elliott: Poor service, and they've yet to reply to my letter of complaint.
Caroline Armitage: Good food and friendly staff. Cannot comment on rooms as we attended an event.Food & drinks: We attended a taster evening for the new refurbished restaurant on 31st March. The food was lovely and well presented. The restaurant has been redecorated and is clean, fresh and tables are well spaced out. The staff are the same, welcoming, efficient and professional. Will certainly be returning.
