Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery: what do users think?
Patrick Steele: Place of remembrance, and community space for art exhibitions
Richard Dempsey: Beautiful building. Kept very clean. Staff helpful. Exhibitions are always interesting . Enjoyable experience
judith lomax: A warm and welcoming place with changing exhibitions. Always something new to discover.
Peterrees Rees: Very good. Went to a bike art exhibition.
Michelle Thomson: Lovely artwork
Barbara Boswell: Great art exhibition.
Paula Pugh: Cute little gallery showcasing artwork by modern artists that you could also buy if you fancy an original piece of work and have a few hundred quid.Lady on the front desk was lovely and polite 😊
Nick Wakelam: Amazing indoor memorial. Very friendly and helpful staff. Ever changing exhibitions in the galleries and all free
Andrew Egerton: An excellent choice of exhibitions month after month after month
Carl Nicholls: Cool place to visit. Worth a look round and the exhibits always changing
Infinite Art: Fantastic gallery
Vinoth Karthiga: It's heart touching and pleasant feeling also it explained the super heros who fought and faced the challenges and final success 👏
p.f. Badcock: A lovely space with very good exhibitions. A modern day exodus by Nick Ridehalgh is stunning & beautiful
peter bloyce: Lovely calm and eye opening. The exhibition of aboriginal art was inspiring
Fiona Reynolds: A small gallery and the length of time you spend is dependent on the exhibitions. There are three exhibition rooms and one of them was in use by an art group so I didn't wish to intrude. The gallery staff are very friendly and the Gallery obviously takes pride in presenting very thought provoking exhibitions - the two I saw today focuses on displacement from home and ancestral lands.
stuart newton: Went to see our neighbours paintings displayed, the space is just right and he had enough wall space to project his paintings well.
Sophi b: Really good. Was there for some art work to be reveled but had a look around, spoke to the staff all lovely helpful people. Really clean areas. Would return. Love the tea dispenser for money
karon knapman: Some lovely, but very pricey pieces of art work in here...
Jessica Sinclair: This is a pretty radical design for 1925 to build an internal war memorial and encorporate into it 3 art gallery rooms to enlighten the hearts and minds of those in grief! The building alone is a masterpiece. And grade 2* listed.Standing farely elevated above the rest of Stockport a top of a good flight of 20 plus steps, is this neo classical Greek temple of Apollo.Entering into a marble floored foyer with 1 wee gallery either side of it. To the right of the foyer are 2 flights of stairs with a lovely tall arched window leading to a landing with small circular ceiling window. To the right is a balcony overlooking the backroom alter room lit naturally with a much larger domed glass ceiling window, with white marble statue to the dead, with the walls flanking it covered with thousands of names of the fallen from both world wars. On the other side of the landing is the biggest gallery. Each gallery has a different artist's work on display. Which apparently changes every season.Apparently the building was also designed for a shaft of sunshine to strike the statue on the 11th of the 11th at 11am which must look farely awesome flanked by the 2 bright green marble pillars. The curator was lovely, welcoming friendly and informative.A good find.Entrance is free
Sheila Knotts: Wonderfully cool & peaceful on a hot day. Visited Stockport Art Societies exhibition, a retrospective of an Art Society member & second year exhibition of Stoçkport college students. Paid my respects to the war memorial as well.
B O'TOOLE: Very pleasant volunteers

lucyjane Collins: The best place to find local artists work..Jim Collins work is fantastic...I don't know much about art but I think an artists personality shows in his work, Jim's work shows his sense of humour.

Vernon Mill Art Studios: what do users think?
Paul Baldowski: Vibrant hub for crafts, art, furniture refurbishment, various local radio studios and a gym (or two). There are picture frame and furniture makers; artists in paint, textiles, metal and more. A cafe around the corner and the nearby shops in Portwood make this a nice spot to drop in; indeed, I recommend you give it a try. However, the site owner is slow to respond to issues and invest money in the structure. The public lift has not worked in years, the car park is abused by gym visitors who have no right of access to use the facilities, and the material state of the whole site is tired. Another challenge is that repairs made are usually half hearted and cheap — like the pot holes that were only filled until the contractor ran out of cheap filler material. So, great site to visit, in terms of things to see, but not great from the perspective of those who might choose to rent there. Pear Mill, around the corner, has facilities that make Vernon Mill look near derelict!! The Mill owner could, and should, do better.
Guy Martin: Very helpful great service and price
zoe hutton: A lovely place to visit with some really lovely artists
Jean Bates: Trina helped me pick the perfect size of mirror and frame them delivered it
31 Mornings: Great idea with artists studios and art on the wall
Carl J Taylor: If you want a quality painting for your home or office then well worth a visit. Talk to the artist who created the piece or just look for that unique picture that is just what you are looking for.
Mthulisi Patrick: Awesome hanging at Pie Radio
Azkar Electrical& Secuirty: Tutors are very experienced and very friendly and helpful to children
jenny edwards: Went to DIY course run by Laura Myles.
Bridie Tonge: Went to pick up framing equipment from Thornley's
Fiona: Several years later the lift still doesn't work which is disappointing for anyone who struggles. Otherwise I love this place and I enjoy their events to look at the art. Sadly due to rising rent there aren't as many artists as there used to be. I highly recommend you follow the artists on social media and pop over for the next events.
Evelyn Hurst: Excellent. Good variety of art.
Mike Dorkzy: Only went here to get tattooed and the gentleman that tattooed me was amazing, great work in such a beautiful building with so many things in it, pole fitness, art studios, podcast studio. A really nice restoration of the old building
christopher harrison: There is not alot parking for customers that need to go in there most of the parking space are taken up by staff
Paul Romane: Just visited from London... friendly bunch of people
Nick Wilbourne: Its a run down mill but has lots of interesting business in there everything from computer repairs to garden furniture art studios and much more. Worth finding out whats there foe sure
Frank Wells: Amazing place, so much different stuff.
Carl Bray: Nice old mill full of enterprise, shame covid has closed it.
sue dillon: Couldnt find anything
Adyan Zahron: The parking is horrible. When you want to go to your stall, you have a very hard time parking your van near your place.
Karen Catchpole: Had picture framed. Staff helpful and friendly. Reasonable prices

Joan Bradley Fine Art: what do users think?
John Shaw: I know nothing about art but I knew what I wanted...a cityscape but not London or Paris so I trawled art shops and galleries in town Eventually looking on line and came across Joan.I visited her gallery and looked through her vast collection.I wanted a painting 3'x2' no problem she said and about 6 weeks later I became the proud owner of a Joan Bradley original of Albert Square.
Lindi Kirwin: A prolific artist, Joan always has something great on the go.
Sarah Morley: Joan s work resonates with colour and texture, it is always an honest response to her subject matter. Well worth a visit to Vernon Mill.
Fraser Gibson: Amazing place to come and see some beautiful art. Tricky to find but Joan gave me great directions. Worth going to visit!

Christine Jespersen: I asked Kate if she could do a portrait of my dog Bobbie and it is absolutely incredible the likeness is amazing. I would highly recommend Kate to anyone.
Alyson Hurst: Kate was an absolute dream to work with. I gave her a photo of my dog that had passed away and Kate captured my Lola to a tea. Cannot say enough about Kate and the whole experience. What was a very sad time for me turned into a smile and a picture that I will hold dear for many years to come.
Dylan Moore: Creative, imaginative and vibrant art. I've purchased a variety of items from Kate O'Brien Art and always brings a smile looking at the wonderful architecture of Stockport captured within the artwork.
James Evans: Kate's artwork really catches the eye, it caught mine for sure. The use of bright, cheerful and vivid colour enhances the subject and makes for a very pleasing addition to my wall. I thoroughly recommend her work and if you are in Stockport go see her work in the market, you will find it very worthwhile!
Alison Sargeant: Kate produced a beautiful pet portrait of our family dog. The painting was a birthday gift and it went down an absolute treat - so much so there were tears when it was opened!Kate communicated really well throughout the process and completed the painting in the time agreed. Kate's work is absolutely beautiful and she is a pleasure to deal with. Would highly recommend!
Donna Warrington: Stunning. Fantastic eye for colour, shape and form, each piece is lovingly created with a passion and humility that shines through in everything she does. Thank you.

Jane Griffiths: Kate has painted a stunning picture based on a photograph I had taken of somewhere very special to me. I am thrilled with it and Kate made the whole process fun and exciting.
Claire Hill: Kate did a house portrait for my friends birthday, it was absolutely perfect and my friend loves it, it takes pride of place in her home!
