Showcase Cinema de Lux Southampton: what do users think?
Nina1: Never coming back here again... we politely ask a woman to give us our seats that we paid for and she started to swear at my friend out of nowhere and with no provocation and all of this resulted in the woman and her husband plus my friend and I getting kicked out of the cinema (without us doing anything wrong). We were abused and this is how they treated us, getting escorted outside of the movie theatre with a security guard. NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN.
mark gazzard: Great cinema to visit
Rebecca: Clean and very comfortable reclining seats. Lots of options of snacks and drinks to purchase.Only con I would say is the gallery experience. I've done this before and we were given our snacks in a pre-prepared box which was a nice touch! However this time we were just told to help ourselves to the snacks on the bar, which doesn't seem that appealing with the food spilling onto the sides and people potentially using their hands! Also, when you book gallery tickets online, it makes you assume that the seating is in a 2 seat configuration which makes it more private. However we ended up sitting right next to someone, which makes buying this more expensive ticket, worthless!Normal tickets, definitely worth it. But wouldn't bother with the gallery experience again.
Sky Marquees: Great cinama with best seats I've been in a cinama
Ian Miller Photography: Very comfortable seating and a nice range of snacks
Daniel Raper: At the price, you’d think Showcase would have decent air con. Doesn’t seem like they have any at all. Nice seats but potentially the least enjoyable film experience I’ve had, way too hot.
joshua rogers: This cinema is awesome. Seats are leather reclining. Spacious clean well worth a visit get a loyalty card if you go a couple of times to get money back.
Mikey Powell: The seats go back in space and Harrison Ford goes back in time
Damian Brierley: Nice , but it's really a premium cinema compared to others like VUE etc. Can be very costly for tickets at weekends / peak times. £14.50 for X Plus. £10 for medium popcorn and drink combo. Definitely join their loyalty scheme if you plan to go more than once.
busi nyathi: Excellent
little puzzle: i had a lovely time in the disabled access with my granny shopper five times all on my own now!!! (the weekdays it's so quiet with hardly anyone there!!! just a few people only!!!) lazy boy faux leather chair and a snack and drink and i've found the best holiday spot ever without being affected by force of bullying more!!! hell yeah!!! than all those holidays abroad!!! right here in southampton!!!
shadow drift: Fantastic cinema I'd say the best in Southampton.
Jim Mundy: Lovely had the place to ourselves, the advantage of going during the day, no need to book.
Tim Hillier: Great
J Neilson: Very comfortable, but an irritating habit if never projecting Wes Anderson movies correctly. Chopped off the bottom subtitles for Asteroid City and French Dispatch.
Alistair Craven: Since we lost Cineworld and Odeon we were left with what we thought was a overpriced fancy cinema but it was fantastic really comfy chairs with recliners and these were only the basic ones! Sound and screen were brilliant and film was good would of been nicer to be welcomed and said goodbye too but all in all a good night. Thankyou
DigitalAmoeba: Not cheap at £16pp for xPlus (largest screen, best sound and improved seating) screening, but for that price all the seats are electric arm chair recliners with loads of leg room & width.Update: Now also experienced medium 2D screen and it was also steeply ranked, fully electric recliners & excellent screen & sound.A large ice-cream sundae was £5.50, but with generous portions & good value vs smaller sizes or alternate snacks.Generally the cinema is modern, clean & surrounded by lots of restaurant choices. There's also lots of paid for multi-storey car parking nearby.Overall a very good quality experience
Em OV: Nice feel to it. Back stairs not the best but otherwise great cinema.
Ja M: Best cinema to go to
Jack Grace: The gallery is lovely, well worth the extra fiver!

ODEON Southampton: what do users think?
Kozhwar Aram: Welldone
Howard Spink: Many happy times
Logesh Sundaramurthy: You could have a good movie experience in Southampton.
Rockman Ruby: I've been coming here ever since I could remember, I came here on the 23rd of February for my birthday and to say my goodbyes to ODEON Southampton. You will be missed, old friend.
Chelsee: I love coming here this Odeon cinema is so relaxed and grandiose.
Neil Cooper: At least twice the price of the other cinemas in Southampton.Chairs are so uncomfortable and you are crammed in with no space, sharing the arm rest with the poor girl next to me.
Craig Duke: Great cinima been part of there limitless club a while now such a shame lesuire world is having a complete referbishment which means there closing on 27th February hope they return to Southampton as there a fair price to see latest films half what the other cinima in Southampton charges or limitless for 12.99 a month and see all film you want
Kevin Wang: Venue really needs a refurbishment
Jack Rushmer: Great place shame it's going
jaiwin george: Great experience
Vixsey Vixen: Loads of screens and choices. Loads of space, not crowded. Staff were friendly and helpful. BUT.. The AirCon was up too high and the room was FREEZING!!!! really suffered because of this. Wont go back unless this is changed or they allow me to take in an electric blanket
Lunches with Luna the DOg Lucas: Clean, friendly staff
Colin Marchington: Hard to be fair... i tend to visit at quiet times and as its attached to other empty venues in the foyer it always seems lost or abandoned..Free car park opposite is a big bonus..I'm a limitless member, so can visit often as i like but I'm never drawn to this cinema compared to others i used in Kingston and Wimbledon before i moved.Prices are if course ridiculous, as they are in any cinema.... stock up in Tesco or Lidl/Aldi first!Staff are functional rather than engaging.
Caroline Gradidge: Odeon at West Quay is perfect for my 13yr old autistic son as it never gets too crowded in the cinema. He copes well with sound levels inside and if things do get too much he now recognises this and asks to leave. Staff are always really helpful on site.
Radmila Zas: It’s a really strange cinema. All screens are high above so expect a neck pain no matter where you sit. The whole place has a feeling of abandoned place. (Even pre-covid)
Izabela Gziut: The staff are really thoughtful, approachable and friendly! Makes for a very pleasant cinema experience.
Hilde Gronsberg: Oh has this place gone downhill. Nobody there. restaurant in entrance closed. No heating on at the cinema, perhaps a way to save money? Had to leave as teeth started clattering together. Freezing cold. Will not return.
Robert Houlette: Epic
Ryan Morrison: Cinema was uncomfortably cold, Seats are extremely dated.Better of spending an extra couple of quid and going to Showcase Cinema. Not worth it.
Louis P: Sound was great, picture quality was great
Jas W: Really friendly staff who helped us during a problem during the screening. Affordable prices, easy access and lots of parking.

Anna Grant: it ok...
Ad Wen: Great place to come see the latest films at the best prices in Southampton, and even better they won't try and rip you off with overpriced popcorn. The cinema has the best sound compared to ANY cinema in Southampton. Highly recommend as movie experience is really great here!
Peter Richardson: Sounds good.
Nomes: The best place cheap cinema! Cheap tickets, amazing dolby ATMOS sound and a huge screen. Plus tiered seating, friendly staff and no shame bringing in your own snacks! Loved it.

Harbour Lights Picturehouse: what do users think?
Phil D: I phoned a Picture House cinema with an enquiry in June, 3 times in 20 minutes as I got cut off, I have just had my phone bill and am horrified to see that Picture House uses an 0871 premium rate number. I did not know this was 13p for each minute, and of course you have to listen to a long intro recording first. Why is it a premium number? Unnecessary. Also discriminatory against old people who are not all online, and it's just plain customer unfriendly. Moneymaking money grabbing poor service.A sad comment on the people who decide these things, they just live in their own little world blissfully unaware - because they can't be bothered to check, or use their intellect - of other people's problems. We are supposed to have laws against discrimination but they don't seem to work very well.Or is it that the powers that be do know but don't care?I've asked and they won't consider a refund. An unhappy picture house customer. Still there are plenty of other cinemas...............
Hayley Robinson (Queen B): As a Special Needs Mum. This venue was amazing. Inclusive, kind and fun! 🎥🍿🙂
Judi Williams: Lovely local cinema. Friendly staff, good food, great location by the marina. Two screens, excellent membership packages. Definitely worth a visit.
Caroline Robins: Friendly helpful staff. Good food. Nice atmosphere
James Dick: Great little cinema, serves beer and food too
Pete Martin: It's more relaxing and personal than the big cinemas
José Cruz: Best cinema in Southampton hands down.Very welcoming staff, great decoration, and a cozy atmosphere is exactly what we need. Not to mention their movie’s choices never disappointing
Suzanne: This is such a cute movie theater! It’s right on the water and they have a lovely cafe you can go to as well!
Bhadur Singh: Friendly staff. Nice place for a cheeky drink.
H W: Staff so friendly and they always interact really well with our Son. Staff go above and beyond to play with him. We enjoy going just for an ice-cream!
Glenn Sutcliffe: Wonderful art cinema, picturesquely situated in Ocean village.
Richard Burd: Wonderful location, great venue and friendly staff.
elaine chapman: Very underused cinema, sadly. I thought it was really nice and comfortable
Sophie: Nice intimate cinema, a lot more personal than the big chains.
Sonya Collins: It's a place I feel okay to go alone to watch a film. Very friendly
Steve Lee: A great little cinema and bar food cafe.
Linda Misseldine: What l liked about it, it was not busy seats where comfortable staff very helpful, coffee good.Recommend it
Matt: Topnotch
Druccy Gaming: Did a quiz night, was brilliant and food and drinks where vert tasty.
Gwen Appleton: Comfortable reclining seats at this venue. Spotless accessible toilet. Good coffee and biscuits
Richard Sandells: Just the best cinema ever. Friendly staff - all enthusiastic about film. Feels like everyone involved actually loves the place. Great atmosphere. Comfortable seats. Good sound and projection. I often see stuff simply because it's on at this venue and have discovered some gems as a result. Never had a bad experience with other punters either which is sadly rare in places of public entertainment these days.
