Leonardo Royal Southampton Grand Harbour: what do users think?
Susan Flood: Afternoon tea was alright staff was good 👍Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Penny Kyes: Perfect if you are leaving for a cruise, not perfect if you are doing anything in London....we learned the hard way that they are not close! HAHAA, most expensive taxi ever!Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Paul Goddard: Fantastic hotel set near to everything you need in Southampton. The service was excellent, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.Breakfast including the choices were very good. Would love to return for another visit.Rooms: The rooms are very comfortable with a high level of quality and cleanliness. Good air con and nice quiet environment.Nearby activities: Lots to do in Southampton, within walking distance of the shopping centres and docks, museums and parks.
Harry Alston: Nice clean rooms, good location, spa wasn’t that greatRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Ashley Nicholls: Card payments only not stated when bookedRooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 1/5 …More
Fanny M: Convenient location but did not meet a 4-star hotel expectations. We decided to pay more for this 4* hotel for 2 nights stay before cruise. The room facing the back of the hotel with absolutely no views but seeing an ugly roof of another building which was unpleasant. When I was taking a shower, found out the body wash bottle was completely EMPTY. Very disappointed that I couldn't finish my shower. Called housekeeping for it as I couldn't take shower but no delivery after an hour, called again but was given body lotion instead, sigh! Went to front desk to express my frustration as filling up the body wash bottle was a very basic housekeeper duty. The hotel provided expresso machine in room which was nice. However, we couldn't make expresso as the machine was filled with old expresso pods, it was never emptied by housekeeper. We ended up made our hands dirty to clean up the machine. Overall, it was not a pleasant stay. The only thing we like was the front desk staff who were friendly and understanding. Hope they will write a report to improve the housekeeping service.Rooms: Aging hotel. Decent size room with comfortable bed.
Kerrys Allen: Absolutely brilliant hotel! My partner and I stayed the night prior to setting sail on a cruise from Southampton, and we couldn't recommend it anymore if we tried. Rooms were very clean and staff were very friendly, there is also a car park outside the hotel so you don't have to drag your luggage long distances. The hotel is nicely located close to the high street which is full of restaurants and shops. 5 stars, without a doubt!
Georgi Radev: Absolutely stunning hotel. Our room had a bit of dust and some hair but nothing major. Brilliant staff and hotelRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

busi nyathi: Beautiful placeRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Mark Brookes: Lovely hotel and only a stone's throw from the cruiseRooms: Lovely big room fully air-conditioned. Lovely big bed which was really comfortable. Big screen TV with lots of channels including Netflix and Amazon primeFood & drinks: Only had breakfast which was self service. Food good . Lots of options. Alcohol drinks were expensive so we went to a nearby pub and saved around £5 a round
david mason: Very goodRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Wynne Slowikowski: Great hotel and location. Kind friendly helpful bellman and front desk. However, they seem understaff at the cafe and front desk. Hostess took our order and took over an hour to get our food. Could not seem to locate a front desk personnel or staff when needing one. Room phone disconnected and doesn’t work. Overall, nice hotel. Nice one night stay!

Samuel “Sam” Nicholson: Absolutely awful experience as soon as I arrived! A lady came running out to me saying I couldn't park my truck in the car park, which was half empty and was still half empty when I left in the morning at 7am! I had to park in the lorry park, which I wasn't driving a lorry! I then was made to pay a damage charge fee! Then I went into the room which was okay until I went into the bathroom, the toilet seat was up with urine still in the toilet, the bathroom tiles were all bulging out of the wall and the shower was almost hanging off the wall! No toilet roll holder or toilet roll, Obviously it had been broken and never replaced... Never will I ever stay there again! And have let my company know to never book that hotel again!!!
Danny White: Really good food rate the breakfast lovely staff fast service value for moneyService: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Craig “Craaaiig” Lawrence: We booked in here last minute for work as we had ran out of driving hours. We walked into a lovely warm greeting from Debbie at reception, who made sure everything was in order for our short notice stay. She could not be more helpful! The rooms are basic but clean, and everything functioned as it should - the shower was my highlight, I always appreciate a high pressure morning wake up.Will try and use this Days Inn in future for sure!

Masaru Ito: I had an amazing experience staying at Days Inn Southampton during my recent 3-day cycling trip. Despite being a rare guest for a hotel located on a motorway, the staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful. The general manager Phil went above and beyond to ensure our bikes were smoothly accommodated. This made our cycling trip more enjoyable than we could have ever imagined. The staff truly made all the difference!
Tom A.: Stayed for one night during our weekend break. Room was clean and tidy, havemt noticed anything unpleasant. Toilet door had no lock (nor door latch) so was a bit tedious privacy wise, but overall great value and great location.Rooms: Spacious and well laid out. Clean and tidy.
Magdi George: Lovely hotel and nice location which is located close to the service but only one thing to mention is I can't connect to the WiFi either on my laptop or phone so I used my data which is limited. But generally I love the place and highly recommended. Definitely come back.Rooms: Beautiful rooms and quiet spacious and comfortable bed
Sukhy Roudh: Not the cleanest of places, prison Gate shutters for reception which don’t open until 10:00am apparently although I still have not seen them open. The GM Phil Greg is a lovely gentlemen who was quite helpful.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 3/5 …More
delroy simpson: OkRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Brian240671 Neil: Rooms: The room was very nice but the staff not so friendly they would not take cash for the second night paymentRooms: 5/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Terry Campion: Friendly and helpful staff. Room a good size with all the usual amenities. Shower powerful but water is barely warm. Only one towel between two people. What I would expect for the price. WiFi didn't work.Rooms: OK for the price.Nearby activities: The hotel is located next to the motorway services, not much there very sparce for choice.Walkability: Easy and safe walk from hotel to services.Food & drinks: Not much choice at the services.Noteworthy details: There a one way system in place so if you go past the hotel entrance and park in the main area then you have to carry cases to the hotel or drive several miles up and back the motorway to park outside the hotel. It is only yards as the crow flies.

Linda Davies: Under staffed
Norwich Eve: Room was spacious and clean.Housekeeping was super friendly and helpfulDining in the evening was interesting, mainly due to a lack of staff. They all appeared rushed and disjointed , however food was good and Dave really was trying his best.Breakfast was good with ample options.Although a little disorganized at the beginning we were soon met with organized Karen who was incredibly helpful and friendly. This lady deserves a pay rise. I genuinely felt a little sorry for the staff as they were all trying to make good of a poor situation. On our next cruise we will be finding elsewhere to stay.
Keith Miller: Dave in the restaurant is really helpful. But it is short staffed, as the restaurant is popular. The rooms are a good size. Be aware if you need a power point next to the bed for any reason they only have USB's. An extension will be needed.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Oliver Riding: Be very careful or the car park will shaft you, unlike every other hotel car park in the UK, here you pay for the car park at check out so its really easy to forget.

Mark Johns: The reception featured an automated receptionist. On arrival we added an evening meal and breakfast option, which was advertised is children eat free. The automated system did not allow us to add our daughter, so our receipt showed just two adult meals. After finishing, the waiter tried to get us to pay for the wrong tables food for three guests. I told him we had pre-paid at reception and then he said we had to pay for gammon, etc even though we had all eaten pasta. He realised his mistake but then insisted we had to pay for our daughter's food as she had not ordered from the children's menu. Nowhere was this explained to us. The guy even had the cheek to try and add a tip for himself when I paid.
Rick Tootle: Very busy hotel next to airport. Rooms normal but a little tired. Triple glazing for maximum quality night sleep. Dining staff very friendly and helpful. Easy safe check-in. No free parking. £6 overnight via pay machine. Very close to M27 junction.Nearby activities: Airport and Docks not too far. Portsmouth and Southampton.
Dylan Scalf: Standard premier Inn room and staff were nice.Busy hotel. Only thing I would say is book ahead if you want to eat at the restaurant.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Daniel Goodacre: Clean, functional and efficient – ideal for the one night stay we were having. Though not using the airport, it was also really handy being close to the train station. Decent breakfast buffet offered too. The only downside was the slow check-in. Would definitely recommend if you need a stay in the area.
Nigel Hobday: Very handy position for a Premier Inn, virtually opposite the airport. Check-in very efficient, car park £3 for 24 hours for guests. Thyme restaurant is good and service quick. Would stay here again.
Rowena Poole: Clean and comfortable roomShower leaked loudly when other rooms used their shower (waking us up at 05.45amGreat location for the airport, but very noisy

Mark Edwards: Very good hotel. We had adjoining rooms with my daughter, her husband, and the 3 grandkids. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.Breakfast was basic but very filling.Tasha and Ryan were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for themNearby activities: Great place to stay if you are going to the nearby Paultons Park , home of peppa Pig World. There were also a lot of people staying there going on cruises from Southampton
J B: The follow is our opinion of what has taken place: on the booking details in our opinion we were told there was free parking. When we got home from our holiday, we received 2 letters fining us for £100 each day. There was a notice at the hotel to register our car using one of the online squares but not why, nor did we receive any indication that the hotel parking areas are managed by a parking company. We only hope we are not going to get a £100 for every day we stayed. We assumed it was for insurance purposes so that in any emergency they would have our details and on the second day we had a member of the hotel staff do the registration as we are not computer knowledgeable. I phoned the hotel booking using speaker phone so my wife could be aware of this conversation and what the hotel staff member said. I was given a reference number as my wife and I understand that the hotel is going to arrange the cancellation, but we do not know for certain as from our end we found the reply difficult to hear.

Booked in Ms S Emms name / my partner booked wetroom in advance / I am a stroke survivor ,, we got conned staff were saying we had not booked wetroom and we had to have normal room ? We was both tired so we complained nicely because I can not get in normal shower because of steps etc ! Room was messy ,,smelly ,,covid free they say ? No way OK! There mistakes ,,ignorance ,,lack of care ,,and much more ! £125 spent for what ? Meals pricey ,,beer smelt ,,staff ignorant ,,never again ,,you need to be warned other clients DO NOT GO THERE ! Food good room nice and cleanRooms: Clean and were fine for one night stay before cruiseFood & drinks: Food was ok eve menu could be bigger though.

Tara Barnes: We went here because it was once of the few dog friendly hotels in the area. They do a breakfast buffet with plenty of choice, but they clearly use very cheap products. The rooms were not cleaned well- we found a ball under the bed, empty packets, old sweets and so much hair on the floor. The TV didn't work, nor did some of the plugs or lights. The toilet didn't flush well and toilet paper was not replaced by housekeeping.Staff in general were very helpful and friendly though.
Nawaf Ibrahim: We were received by welcoming and friendly staff on our arrival at Holiday Inn Express Southampton - West. Check in was smooth and we were provided with useful and relevant information about staying at the hotel. Room was clean and well setup, so was the bathroom. Breakfast had reasonable choices, but please note, if vegetarian, you will need to ask for vegetarian options as they are served on request. Check out was as smooth as check in.

Nadim H: What a dump! The rooms (although clean) were awful and outdated, the entire hotel was covered in scaffolding and the windows all had an opaque film on so you can’t see out and even that was ripped or flaking off in places. The staff however were lovely, friendly and welcoming and the hot full English breakfast was rather tasty. They had alternative milks, soya and oat and gluten free bread which I really appreciated.
Stephen Hobley: Hotel clean, service good, breakfast goodRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
A. Eastwood: Overnight stay pre Cruise. Brilliant location. 10mins from any cruise terminal. Directly opposite Southampton West Quay shopping centre. Park in West Quay, adjacent to hotel, £5 per 24hrs. Advertised for long stay too.Staff were lovely. Breakfast was good value. Rooms were dark due to exterior building work. Bedroom clean. Bathroom needed a good deep clean...slime visible in overflows and thick dust stuck on vents.
David: Location is everything with this Premier Inn. Close to West Quay shopping centre and cruise terminals. We were able to walk to the City cruise terminal in about 7 minutes.Currently it is surrounded with scaffolding so you can't see out of your room window. The service is good at the hotel. We were able to store our luggage at the hotel as we arrived around 10am.The breakfast is just alright for the price. The actual area that meals are served gets very smelly with the food cooking. So you tend to smell like the food. They need some type of air extraction in this area. The price we paid for the hotel was quite high also. This is a budget hotel. Overall it was an ok stay.
Pearl Liu: Good location close to port. No frills hotel. Do not recommend eating dinner on site. No check in before 3pm.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Service was good, with the staff at the check in desk friendly and polite. The location is excellent, being directly opposite West Quay, where you'll find a plethora of bars and restaurants, with shops, cinema's etc. to keep you entertained. It's a short walk to the Port if you need to catch one of the ferries.Nearby activities: Shopping, restaurants, bars, cinema all within walking distanceWalkability: West Quay shopping just across the street and the city centre is well within walking distance

Jurys Inn Southampton: what do users think?
Peter Robertson: (Updated) Be careful if you have a car - predatory Countrywide Parking manages the drop-off parking spots! Hotel was fine, but located in the middle of a rotary, so the ONLY option to unload a car is the 15 minute drop-off. The hotel is understaffed and that led to a backup at check-in, making it impossible to honor the 15 minute parking limit and also secure the luggage. After reaching the front desk and arranging for the bags to be stored (the room wasn't ready), I immediately took the car to the carpark (a five minute walk). But it took 22 minutes to reach the desk and secure the luggage, the Countrywide Parking's cameras recorded the 7 minute violation and charged 60 pounds, to which the rental car company added adminstrative fees. It took me research and TWO appeals to get fixed (the British Parking Association dictates a 10 minute grace period so Countrywide never should have pursued the fine in the first place, then when given the chance on the first appeal did not even acknowledge the grace period, I had to appeal to THEIR association). And I couldn't reverse the rental car company's fee until the parking fine was waived. I DID reach out to the hotel manager and he offered to try to get the fine waived, but nobody should have to work this hard to check into a hotel and Leonardo would do well to get their landlord to dump Countrywide Parking. Because I did get the fines reversed and the hotel did offer to help, I am improving my rating for a basically fine hotel. But if you are responsible for a car and can't just dump someone at the curb with the bags, be careful!

Warren Goodall: Our group of 6 had booked 3 rooms for the 6 July 2023 via Expedia when it was still called Jury’s Inn. We then contacted the hotel direct and requested that we all be placed on the same floor. We figured that with almost a years notice that this would be easy thing for the hotel to coordinate. Two of our group had a change of plan and were coming in a few days early. Contacting the hotel directly a month before hand and they were told that there were plenty of rooms available but they had to book via Expedia again, not direct with the hotel. It seemed it was “too hard” for reception to take an extra 2 night booking. On our arrival we found that the rooms were not together as had been requested. Staff stated they were not aware of the request, despite it being recorded by reception earlier that day when our companions arrived early, and despite us showing emails etc.Now for the state of our room:1. Coffee table broken, couldn’t place a simple cup on it without it tipping over.2. Bed leg/coaster missing - bed tipping to one side.3. Aircon not able to cool room, stuck on 24 Celsius. I was told the following morning that I could have gone to reception and they would of given me some fans. It was midnight and I was tired so going downstairs was not in my thoughts.4. Carpet grubby to walk on, badly stained, and in need of a deep clean.5. Room in general is very tired and worn looking.6. Breakfast was sort of ok, with plenty to choose from. However it took over 20 minutes to get table salt provided and almost 30 mins to get a couple of fried eggs. The hotel is shown as a 4 star - I would barely rate it as 3.Previous complaints from customer reviews have resulted in the generic “thank you for your comments, we will use them to improve our service” type responses from duty managers. It would appear that Leonardos hasn’t learnt.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
David Ward: Ok if you are short of cash, a student etc. also avoid if you arrive in your own vehicle as there is absolutely no parking. M: We booked this hotel through a partnership they had with Poultons Park, but I must say this is NOT a 4* hotel. 3* for sure. The rooms were a standard travel lodge type and stank of cigarette so we moved to a different room only to find biscuits on the floor. They don't have the selection of beers at the bar as per their room menus and most draught beers were finished by 9pm.Kids small meal consisting of a processed hotdog sausage from a jar, chips and 3 table spoons of baked beans for £8.50!!!! Bathroom had a bath and a powerful over bath shower. Good quality towels, a kettle and coffee in the room. There is a bar which could have been better staffed. The woman behind the bar appeared to have several other jobs to attend to. The bar was busy so service was slow.Generally the staff all seemed very young and not always the politest. Most of them gave the impression that they didn't want to be there. The breakfast was £10 which I thought was very reasonable and there was a good selection.Very convenient location especially for the Mayflower Theatre and Southampton train station. I would stay again and would recommend. Service with a smile would have been appreciated though.
skuduvids (Kitters): Who ever knows me i give credit where it’s due, and out of all the P. Inn’s I’ve been in this one’s the worst although central and convenient 1. I arrived just after 24:00 delayed flights etc, took ages to get checked in 2. No food or drink’s ok 3. vending machines all on the blink 4. stole the money the poor not liable young staff helpless although they should switch them off rather, 5. Leaking water all over the floors 6, Mattress massive crater in it no hooks in the Bathroom for hanging stuff up 🆙 and so forth, nuff said , Fixit .
Laura Prentice: Rooms are a little worn but that is not why the low rating. Given the location, it is expected that the rooms will have a high turnover of guests hence the worn rooms but this is no excuse for lack of cleanliness in both the public and room areas. The staff do an amazing job but clearly over worked. Check-in was very slow with guests waiting at reception for over 10 minutes before a member of staff appeared, by which point a long queue had formed of guests wishing to check in.The location is great for access to the station and other attractions.Rooms: Average premier inn size. Family rooms are a good size, pleanty of space for a family of 4.Walkability: Near railway station (10min walk), museums and shopping centre
Patrick Zhang: Great location as it’s within walking distance to the Southampton Central railway station, a local Asda, restaurants, the city center, and shopping centers. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Overall, a great value.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Great value …More

Conor Alabaster: We weren’t satisfied with our room, we went downstairs and asked if we could change rooms. Kacey sorted us out with a new room that she said she had just checked herself. Went to the room and it was the cleanest and nicest premier room we’ve stayed in. Great serviceRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Luxury …More
