Samuel “Sam” Nicholson: Absolutely awful experience as soon as I arrived! A lady came running out to me saying I couldn't park my truck in the car park, which was half empty and was still half empty when I left in the morning at 7am! I had to park in the lorry park, which I wasn't driving a lorry! I then was made to pay a damage charge fee! Then I went into the room which was okay until I went into the bathroom, the toilet seat was up with urine still in the toilet, the bathroom tiles were all bulging out of the wall and the shower was almost hanging off the wall! No toilet roll holder or toilet roll, Obviously it had been broken and never replaced... Never will I ever stay there again! And have let my company know to never book that hotel again!!!
Danny White: Really good food rate the breakfast lovely staff fast service value for moneyService: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Craig “Craaaiig” Lawrence: We booked in here last minute for work as we had ran out of driving hours. We walked into a lovely warm greeting from Debbie at reception, who made sure everything was in order for our short notice stay. She could not be more helpful! The rooms are basic but clean, and everything functioned as it should - the shower was my highlight, I always appreciate a high pressure morning wake up.Will try and use this Days Inn in future for sure!

Masaru Ito: I had an amazing experience staying at Days Inn Southampton during my recent 3-day cycling trip. Despite being a rare guest for a hotel located on a motorway, the staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful. The general manager Phil went above and beyond to ensure our bikes were smoothly accommodated. This made our cycling trip more enjoyable than we could have ever imagined. The staff truly made all the difference!
Tom A.: Stayed for one night during our weekend break. Room was clean and tidy, havemt noticed anything unpleasant. Toilet door had no lock (nor door latch) so was a bit tedious privacy wise, but overall great value and great location.Rooms: Spacious and well laid out. Clean and tidy.
Magdi George: Lovely hotel and nice location which is located close to the service but only one thing to mention is I can't connect to the WiFi either on my laptop or phone so I used my data which is limited. But generally I love the place and highly recommended. Definitely come back.Rooms: Beautiful rooms and quiet spacious and comfortable bed
Sukhy Roudh: Not the cleanest of places, prison Gate shutters for reception which don’t open until 10:00am apparently although I still have not seen them open. The GM Phil Greg is a lovely gentlemen who was quite helpful.Rooms: 2/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 3/5 …More
delroy simpson: OkRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 3/5 …More
Brian240671 Neil: Rooms: The room was very nice but the staff not so friendly they would not take cash for the second night paymentRooms: 5/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 2/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Terry Campion: Friendly and helpful staff. Room a good size with all the usual amenities. Shower powerful but water is barely warm. Only one towel between two people. What I would expect for the price. WiFi didn't work.Rooms: OK for the price.Nearby activities: The hotel is located next to the motorway services, not much there very sparce for choice.Walkability: Easy and safe walk from hotel to services.Food & drinks: Not much choice at the services.Noteworthy details: There a one way system in place so if you go past the hotel entrance and park in the main area then you have to carry cases to the hotel or drive several miles up and back the motorway to park outside the hotel. It is only yards as the crow flies.

Paul Goddard: Fantastic hotel set near to everything you need in Southampton. The service was excellent, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.Breakfast including the choices were very good. Would love to return for another visit.Rooms: The rooms are very comfortable with a high level of quality and cleanliness. Good air con and nice quiet environment.Nearby activities: Lots to do in Southampton, within walking distance of the shopping centres and docks, museums and parks.

Fanny M: Convenient location but did not meet a 4-star hotel expectations. We decided to pay more for this 4* hotel for 2 nights stay before cruise. The room facing the back of the hotel with absolutely no views but seeing an ugly roof of another building which was unpleasant. When I was taking a shower, found out the body wash bottle was completely EMPTY. Very disappointed that I couldn't finish my shower. Called housekeeping for it as I couldn't take shower but no delivery after an hour, called again but was given body lotion instead, sigh! Went to front desk to express my frustration as filling up the body wash bottle was a very basic housekeeper duty. The hotel provided expresso machine in room which was nice. However, we couldn't make expresso as the machine was filled with old expresso pods, it was never emptied by housekeeper. We ended up made our hands dirty to clean up the machine. Overall, it was not a pleasant stay. The only thing we like was the front desk staff who were friendly and understanding. Hope they will write a report to improve the housekeeping service.Rooms: Aging hotel. Decent size room with comfortable bed.
Kerrys Allen: Absolutely brilliant hotel! My partner and I stayed the night prior to setting sail on a cruise from Southampton, and we couldn't recommend it anymore if we tried. Rooms were very clean and staff were very friendly, there is also a car park outside the hotel so you don't have to drag your luggage long distances. The hotel is nicely located close to the high street which is full of restaurants and shops. 5 stars, without a doubt!
Georgi Radev: Absolutely stunning hotel. Our room had a bit of dust and some hair but nothing major. Brilliant staff and hotelRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Mark Brookes: Lovely hotel and only a stone's throw from the cruiseRooms: Lovely big room fully air-conditioned. Lovely big bed which was really comfortable. Big screen TV with lots of channels including Netflix and Amazon primeFood & drinks: Only had breakfast which was self service. Food good . Lots of options. Alcohol drinks were expensive so we went to a nearby pub and saved around £5 a round
david mason: Very goodRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Wynne Slowikowski: Great hotel and location. Kind friendly helpful bellman and front desk. However, they seem understaff at the cafe and front desk. Hostess took our order and took over an hour to get our food. Could not seem to locate a front desk personnel or staff when needing one. Room phone disconnected and doesn’t work. Overall, nice hotel. Nice one night stay!

D Humphreys: Enjoyable experience at this Holiday Inn and certainly recommend if you're looking for a hotel in the area. The rooms are modern and presented well. I had an accessible room which was very spacious. My only issue whilst at the hotel was the staff who checked me in didn't tell me I had to register my parking, and I had thought this was done manually as you give your registration on the check-in form (the screens to enter the car registration plate were facing the staff) and I only saw the screens as I re-entered the hotel later on the night so I'm expecting to receive a fine for the parking which is less than ideal.
Hriman Batra: Simmi was very warm and nice she was there with us for a very pleasant breakfast and the service under her was impeccable.

The staff are friendly and helpful, special shout out to Simmi who went above and beyond sorting out breakfast for me even after breakfastime had officially finished. Maya Apperley: Wonderful experience, we arrived after a horrendous train journey and the Receptionist was kind, calm and very sympathetic. We had ordered special pillows and were offered a free welcome drink until housekeeping could arrange them for us.The staff is very welcoming and we enjoyed a delicious dinner after getting freshened up. The breakfast was tasty and with all the usual British favourites.Checkout was swift and efficient and we have already booked our next stay.Super location, smack between town and the dockside, very pretty.Room 709 has a spectacular view and we watched 3 ships sail out and several container vessels coming in. Wonderful.
Leo Walton: This hotel is OK, for a Holiday Inn but the worst part is the £15 a day parking charge, even if you're staying at the hotel which was not clear prior to booking. We forgot to pay for our last day and have also had a £60 penalty charge. There are plenty of other, better, hotels in the area so I would recommend looking elsewhere if you have a car.Noteworthy details: It will cost you £15 a day to park here.
Stuart: I have to follow a gluten free diet and they looked after me very well. Special thanks to my breakfast hosts Simmi and Alfie who were especially helpful.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Sue Mellen: Continental breakfast was outstanding. Excellent variety, everything fresh and service was great. Simin ensured that we were completely satisfied.Nearby activities: Close to bus and trains.
Maraye Neeve: First time staying at Southampton Holiday Inn. Received excellent service at the restaurant from Simmi. Rooms are spacious and overall location is nice.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5 …More
shelley wyatt: We spent 3 nights here for a short break in the area. The location was brilliant, right by West Quay and a walkable distance for everywhere we wanted to go. Lots of cruise guests as the hotel is right by the terminals and also the IOW and Hythe ferries.Staff were very welcoming, patient and helpful. Special shout outs to Simmi and Phoebe. They must see thousands coming and going, but they were both friendly, caring and efficient throughout our stay. Our room had a great view of the harbour and was cleaned to a high standard. There was the odd small stain or two on the carpet, but not a big deal to us. We had a comfortable stay. There was no in room safe, but we managed. Everything worked as it should have! The buffet breakfast was very good. We also had a light lunch and a pizza meal one evening during our stay. Both very tasty. Parking is directly outside the hotel @ £15 per 24 hours, payable at reception.Overall a very positive experience and we would recommend this hotel.

Service is also great, I'd move in if I could!Food & drinks: Good lunch menu with plenty of choice and great drinks menu with several mocktails, cocktails, wine list and soft drinks.
Kelly Mortimer: Wonderful experience. And I am a fussy traveller!Checkin was busy but the team handled it with smiles and efficiency!I stayed in a beautiful studio with double balcony - lots of space, wonderful views. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Especially at breakfast when I was fussy about how I wanted it - it was perfection.I enjoyed a relaxing hour in the spa which is included in the room rate and definitely worth a visit. It was a brief stay to recharge and relax. Neil Williams: Amazing night in the 6th floor restaurant for my wife's birthday eve before we board the cruise tomorrow. We were moved to a booth and a special thank you to Carlos, who really looked after us. Thank you to all the staff. Great night, great food, and great service!Rooms: Spacious and comfy with everything you need.
William Allen: Arrived early, with jet lag, from an international flight. I was told that the room would not be ready until 3. There was no suggestion or amenity available for the next 6 hours. So, I fell asleep in a chair in their lobby, which apparently prompted them to get the room ready earlier. When we got to the room, the room cleaner was upset because the room was not yet ready. The room is lovely with a nice balcony with a beautiful view of the harbor and boat docks. There is a fabulous kitchen but no pots, pans, utensils, or plates. There are nice restaurants and a store in the immediate area.

ibis Southampton Centre: what do users think?
Karen Mansbridge: Had a great stay for 3 nights. Rooms could do with a bit of updating but was very comfortable. Will definitely use them again. Close to everything we needed to seeRooms: Could do with a little bit updating. But was clean
Den Tang (dent): My husband and I stayed here on 2/F this early June. The room is small but acceptable. The room had an a/c, but we usually didn't use it, because it was still cool during that time, even cooler than the a/c. They provided a fan in our room. The bathroom was normal size, there was an anti-slippery sticker on the bathtub that is thoughtful to us. The cabinet was useful with enough space for us for storing our food, groceries and clothes there. But one of the bolts of the desk was quite sharp that scratched our tablet cover, and this is probably dangerous for the housekeeping staff as well. The staff were nice to us. From my husband's experience, it's nice to hear that when the alarm was triggered in the morning during the stay, the staff seems quick to respond to the alarm and checked the source of it.From the view of the hotel, we could see the cruise piers and the car park from our room, it's a very nice view of this hotel, especially during the sunset. The location was convenient, the stores such as Boots, Poundland, wilko, Food Warehouse, IKEA, Decathlon...etc. were only take 15 minutes of walking time to get there, also the national express station was near the hotel as well.Rooms: The A/c was set as automatically adjusted to being heating if there is 20C outside. No refrigerator, but it's fine if you stay here with 25C weather.Nearby activities: Bar, loud music at night, but still acceptable.Walkability: Southampton is a city that is walker friendly IMO.Noteworthy details: Beware the desk in Room 217
Kevin young: Staff great, room on 3rd floor small and dated only 2 sockets no usb needs a revamp ,ok at the right price cheap .paid over £150 ,understand it was a Friday but come on
Eli Thoresen: It is a true Ibis hotel. The rooms are not big, but clean and comfortable beds.Very helpful staff.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More
janeshwar janarthanan: Rooms: Rooms are good and with good amenitiesRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Quiet …More

Neil Highley: Woodchip walls, a magazine rack without any magazines, but with a bent bar.Old TV that I couldn't put my firestick in.Air conditioning/heater on ceiling sounded as loud as a washing machine.Carpet was dirty.Breakfast bar was empty of bread, coffee machine broken, tomatoes and mushroom undercooked in overpriced breakfast.Tables had large gouges scratched into them. Not a great experience, and I paid for a standard room, not an ibis budget.Tired and old establishment. They have a trendy looking front but the rooms are grim.Near to Southampton Central though and easy to get to by foot.

Delfina Zafira: Very nice and quiet room, good location next to a nice little park.We arrived late evening and was told by receptionist that we will get our breakfast in paper bags in front of our door next morning !?We ordered buffet breakfast based on the photos of the hotel. So we cancelled it and got refund next day.Never seen this sort of breakfast solution before, but for the price it doesn't seem like a good option. You can buy fried breakfast at the bar/cafe area, that might be good.Rooms: Room was spacious, nice walk in shower, very quiet because facing a backyard. Huge heavy curtains block the light, so nice sleep.Liked the atmosphere of the room very much.
LIGHTNING YT: Absolutely lovely stay at room2. Everything was so clean. Lovely friendly staff. Such a chilled atmosphere. Couldn't fault anything. Thanks for an amazing stay!Rooms: Room had a kitchen so we could have cooked dinners if we had liked to. Bed extremely comfy! Shower is gorgeous. Had a loft room which was fab.Food & drinks: Food is fairly limited but delicious 😋

Alexander Stewart: We paid £60 for this room for a cheap stay and was absolutely taken aback to find out that it's a really good hotel, the rooms are spacious and well equipt. It feels more like a place to call home rather than a hotel room.Shower blew us away. The fully equipped kitchen was amazing. The bed was comfortable . The bathroom is exactly what you'd want. Everything about this hotel is good tbh.

The breakfast was good however the orange juice was not the one. We were also there when they celebrated their 5 years anniversary we were given a cheese board and live music.
Lana Angel: The rooms were very cute and comfortable. The beds are absolutely miserable. I don't think we have ever been so uncomfortable. It's too bad, everything else was so great. Vincent K.F. Maes: A perfectly good budget hotel, just unfortunate that it is clearly a little out of date and that the McDonalds next door is a popular late night gathering place for teens.Rooms: Rooms are in need of maintenance/updating. The central heating/air conditioning system was broken, and while a small fan was provided, not sure if that would suffice if it was actual hot out.

Mouren Tan: 。。
Rupali Soni: It is alright for a solo or with friends trip but not so good for family trip. Breakfast time is a chaos. Tom Holmes: This is a VERY budget hotel that we booked as part of a deal with Peppa Pig World.Location wise it's about a 20 minute drive from the park and has excellent transport links to main motorways. The staff were friendly but the hotel looks tired and in dire need of refurbishment. We are two adults and one child, and our room consisted of a double bed with a bunkbed over it.I ended up sleeping in the bunkbed and my partner and son slept in the double bed. The air-conditioning turned itself off at some point during the night and the room turned into a hotbox. This is basically a case of 'you paid for a room, here's a room and a bed, crack on'.Rooms: In need of refurbishment, at least the one we stayed in was. The room was cramped for 3 people and just felt a bit grubby and tired.Safety: It seemed like a lot of people in the hotel were put up as emergency accommodation by the council so there were a few strange people about and we went up to our room from the outside seating area at about 8pm.Walkability: There's a lift that goes to all floors. Tesco Express and Asda about 10 minutes walk away.Food & drinks: Breakfast was very basic. A few cereals, ham and cheese, yoghurt etc. Very basic continental offering.
Scott Turner: Its a budget hotel, you get what you pay for.Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5|Location: 4/5 …More
Joanne Marriott: It is what it is, basic room with TV and ensuite shower and toilet. Perfect for a one night stay, but for the price if staying longer, I would go for a B&B. Convenient location if using the Red Funnel Ferry as its a couple of minutes drive. Couple of things that aren't so great are the £10 parking fee, and if you have a room facing the McDonald's, the noise from the kitchen extractor.
Helge Smeby: We enjoyed our stay, 2 adults and one child. The bunk bed was incredibly popular with our child. What i liked is that it is a very honest hotel. You get a clean room and a clean bed to sleep in. Its basic and simple but that's exactly what we wanted.Breakfast was ok. Also very simple, two types of meat, some cheese and two types of bread. Coffee was not the best i've ever tasted, but totally ok. A little tight space for eating but it's fine.Staff was great though, very helpful and available. They took great care of us and the other guests. Also very nice location next to the train station.Extra plus points for the toilet being behind a solid door that can be closed! A lot of hotels have the glass doors and i hate them. Here you get a nice solid door. Very good!Overall we enjoyed our stay. Can definitely recommend it if you are looking for basic accommodation.

Adam Farmer: Extremely disappointing experience, will definitely not be going again! We booked this hotel as part of a Pepper Pig World short break experience which wasn't cheap. When we go there the first draw back was parking overnight cost £10. Before going you are made aware of this but still an issue compared to most hotels nowadays. The next draw back was the room! Budget doesn't do the rooms justice. They are so basic your shower is next to the bed in the same room. We had booked for 2 adults and a toddler (4years old) but when we got into our room it had a double bed and then a single bunk bed above it, with a sign saying suitable for 6 years or older. The bed was also not made up but had a sign to say ask reception for assistance making the bed up (they did not help and I ended up doing this). When we spoke to reception about the issue of having a bed that wasn't suitable for a 4 year old we were met with a laughable response to say the least. We were told there is nothing they could do and that the only option was to put the mattress on the floor (by the shower). This was not an acceptable response, so I asked why we're in a room that wasn't suitable for a toddler. The response was don't worry about the sign it only on their so if they fall out it's not our fault and it's your fault. Disgusting! And no I'm not talking about the breakfast although I could be.The breakfast was awful. It was overcrowded and understocked with very limited options..if you think you're having a hot breakfast with sausage, bacon, eggs, beans and mushrooms you're sorely mistaken. The best your going to get is a cold boiled egg that gets picked up and handled by the receptionist.Overall it's not a nice experience and the staff were not helpful at all. I felt sorry for the staff having to work at that hotel as I suspect this experience is a common one.Very poor. 1 star is 1 star too many!
Craig Sedgwick: If you want the prison cell bedroom experience, this is the place for you.The breakfast is extremely limited aswell with minimal slices of bread for toast and the coffee machine constantly broken. As an added bonus, you'll be charged 10 pounds a night parking. 75 quid a night is not what I'd call budget either. Won't ever stay at one of these again. I'd rather sleep in my vehicle.

Mercure Southampton Centre Dolphin Hotel: what do users think?

Jordan Ellwood: Had reservation for 3 months only to be cancelled a few days before and transferred to another hotel as it's been marked "closed" even though it isn't (you can assume as to the reason). Don't touch Mercure hotel chain with a bargepole as it's French owned hotel chain so they are perfectly happy to shaft customers to make more profit off UK government subsidies instead. Utterly shambolic treatment of customers who had plans sorted out for weeks in advance
Martin Hayward: Absolutely disgusting, treated appallingly. Booked 1 month ago for a family reunion and just received an email saying my booking is cancelled. Now having to stay in Eastleigh and use taxis. Don't book here.
Mike Kirtley: Stayed here previously 3 -4 years ago .Bed and breakfast excellent choice , parking for a week, too,tea making in the room tv& wifi .Michael very helpful knowledge ,efficient.Booked taxi to port all included during my queries & booking ,highly recommended.
Leigh Kinroy: Just had my room cancelled after booking 3 months ago with the reason given that the management have an exclusive contract and can just cancel at any time. Leaving me 2 weeks to now find alternative accommodation. I would avoid booking with this hotel at all costs as it treats its customers with no respect or guarantees at all. Absolutely shocking service will never use Mercure again.
David Roberts: Fantastic location in city centre. Rooms slightly dated but perfectly comfortable and well appointed.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 4/5 …More
T M: Yes, the hotel itself is run down and needs an overhaul but our stay was just fine, onsite parking was simple and the breakfast was good. There was some confusion on my booking but props to Kelly on check in who sorted it with minimum fuss and added a free breakfast as an apology. Mercure - Kelly is a credit to your hotel, very professional and courteous and sorted something the guest experience manager couldn't.
Sarah Harrington: Michael on reception was friendly & helpful ,lovely old character hotel needs lick of paint but I'd defo go back ,a bog thank you to Nathan supervisor who made our stay special so helpful made us very welcome great stay xRooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Rick Beauchesne: Great central location in the historic district of Southampton and only £5.00-6.00 Uber ride the port.We stay at quite a few Mercure’s and this is the first that we had a room that we were somewhat disappointed in. Granted we only stayed one night. The hotel is a historic property so the are probably limited in what they can do as far as updates. We d see stayed in a basic King room in the main building. The building throughout was clean. The room was warm, had an old window that barely opened four inches and only had a small fan in the closet. The floor tile in the bathroom was missing grout but otherwise clean.Would I stay there again? Probably but would look for another room type.
Gene Blair: Quaint but needs some TLC. No A/C so a bad night. Nice staff. Very convenient to dining and stores. Def. worth the cost.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Great value …More
Nada recomendable.
Richard Binmore: 2 years running we have booked this hotel to only be cancelled less than a week before our booking. Everywhere else booked up. No sympathy from the hotel. Avoid this place do not book complaints will be raised to accor. We have booked this two years running due to a show and now been let down both times awful service. AVOID THIS PLACE
Kannika Bassett: A very old (250 years+) building - 4 star but not modern and pristine. Gradually being refurbished. Centre of Southampton, room great, especially bathroom. Can sometimes be a bit noisy. Staff helpful and friendly.
Anthony Joseph: My favourite place in Southampton. Grest service excellence locationRooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
